Diablo II

Anyone who ever considered an action/RPG should run straight to the store and sell their souls for Diablo II.

Diablo II isn't a perfect game - the save system and battle.net are the two major issues we had, though we are still baffled by the lackluster graphics. However, when it comes down to it, Diablo II is undeniably fun.

Make sure your affairs are settled before you start playing this game, and pray that your relationship is strong enough to make it through the addiction.

With appealing graphics, extremely challenging gameplay, along with keen sounds, and a two second learning curve, Diablo II provides the ultimate experience.

In exchange for the additional complexity and size, you'll have to tolerate low-resolution graphics and a few more gameplay problems than you might have come to expect from Blizzard games.

The SAVE & EXIT option is a true killer for playability.

What Diablo II lacks in visuals, it makes up for in music, as the appropriately selected and highly engaging tunes never fail to live up to the moment and truly serve to immerse the player.

THIS HASN'T AGED WELL, BE WARNED. Your attack button is your move button so half the time you try to attack you move. Highlighting a target with your mouse and attacking does not guarantee that you are actually aimed properly [this is separate from your chance to hit stat]. You have verrrrry limited storage and you drop ALL YOUR GEAR when you die. Oh god it is a frustrating mess that doesn't deserve the hype, it's all nostalgia goggles except for the art design and atmosphere, which are excellent

I've tried and tried to get interested in Diablo and Diablo II after hearing so much about them for so much of my life, but I've picked up each about 5 times and both has simply failed to hook me. The thing about Diablo and Diablo-styled games is that they are grindy and tedious. You spend the entirety of the games wandering around drab levels slaughtering wave after wave of enemy (i.e. spamming your mouse buttons) with egregiously sparse story interlaced. I'm sorry, but it's just not enough to hold my interest for more than a dozen hours.
