What a disappointment. The remake is riddled with quest and gameplay bugs, sound and visual glitches, and even performance issues on some configs. Also, the devs somehow ruined the original game's audio mix, which is totally messed up in the remake. I'm rating it a 6 because the game looks great on the newer Anvil Engine, but this remake totally lacks QA and polishing. Do not get fooled by the high critics' ratings. Currently, Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced is half-cooked, and it shows badly.

007 First Light is a fun, stylish Bond game that gets the icon vibe right. Sneaking around, using gadgets, or jumping into action all feel smooth, and the missions and in-game challenges give you plenty of gameplay possibilities without dragging on. It’s not perfect. There are some minor bugs and visual glitches here and there, and it lacks support for FSR 4.1 and XeSS 3, but it still looks and performs great, plays well, and feels like a proper spy movie you get to control. It's not Hitman, it's not Uncharted, but it brilliantly integrates some of the best of both to create something new and likely the best 007 Bond game to date. Overall, it's a spy blast. I highly recommend it and rate it a 9 out of 10. GOTY contender, IMO.

Playing Forza Horizon 6 on PC feels like a confident refinement of the series. The open world is visually impressive and rewarding to explore, the driving model is smooth and approachable, and PC performance is strong with flexible graphics options. Great adventure game with good visuals and excellent sound design, plus an amazing soundtrack that really sets the mood. The sci-fi thriller plot grabbed me from the start, and the gameplay feels serviceable and varied enough (without needing combat or missing it). It also features that characteristic DON’T NOD vibe and original style. Emotional, atmospheric, touching themes, and made with real care, regardless of its AA production budget. Definitely worth playing if you enjoy story-driven games.

Despite pre-ordering, I asked for a day-1 refund. I found the controls frustrating, and the movement felt off to me. The camera tracking during combat was lacking, and the visuals weren't anything striking and didn't appeal to my taste either. Also, the game's optimization was poor. Overall, this game wasn't for me, and maybe for others too. I always had the feeling it would lead to more frustration than enjoyment.

I changed my review of the game to negative, as I admit I was swayed by my very initial impressions and the excessive hype surrounding it. After playing for a longer period, I've realized that the game becomes quite repetitive in various aspects, such as fight encounters, puzzles, and gameplay mechanics across different levels. The story is rather simplistic, and the difficulty spikes feel forced and artificial. The only truly positive aspect is the technical side, but that's largely due to the current state of the RE Engine itself. The game feels too casual for my taste and is highly overrated. RE Requiem (RE9) is miles ahead of this title, IMO.

I was initially skeptical about this LiS episode and the decision to reunite Max and Chloe. However, Deck Nine’s approach makes sense in light of what happens to Max in Double Exposure after merging alternate timelines, and the game respects all your prior Max and Chloe choices before your playthrough begins. Performance optimization is weak, similar to DE and other UE5 titles using Lumen, but proper in-game tweaking, such as disabling motion blur and camera shake, setting secondary resolution to 100%, and using a 50 to 70% resolution scale for TSR, makes it playable. The story is engaging, the gameplay feels smooth, the dialogue sounds strong, and the soundtrack is excellent. Overall, it is a solid LiS entry that I would rate 7.5 out of 10.

If you are looking for a survival horror or action game, this is not. Instead, it is an excellent investigative puzzle-adventure with an engaging, Lovecraftian cosmic-horror narrative. The game unfolds gradually and shouldn't be rushed, allowing you to immerse yourself and connect all the intel pieces. The investigation-style board is a standout feature, packed with clues and subtle details that reward careful attention. Rather than holding your hand, the game trusts you to connect the dots on your own, which makes solving things feel genuinely rewarding without losing its edge. The visuals are excellent, creating a well-crafted cosmic-horror atmosphere, and the game's performance was solid for 60+ FPS, using 2160p (base native res) with TSR upscaling set to 66,7%, and lowering from Epic to High on a few settings (Shadows, Reflections, and GI) and to Medium on Effects. It has some minor bugs, but it's nothing game-breaking, so I rate it an 8 out of 10.

Why Nixxes/Sony? After more than 150 hours of gameplay, I can say that this game is very good in and of itself. Kojima Productions improved and polished some aspects and mechanics from their first game. However, Nixxes' technical work on this PC version has been poor, and they are focused on providing minor hotfixes and optimizations for Steam Deck. Overall, it's a technically messed-up PC version for many desktop PC users, with sound mixing issues during cutscenes, game crashes affecting both Nvidia and Radeon setups, a significant visual and rendering downgrade after Patch 1.2+, CPU-intensive and highly CPU-bound in many game scenarios, stuttering with Frame Gen techs... So, all in all, and as the game itself, I'd recommend it, but as a Nixxes port to PC (the item we're purchasing here on Steam), this is barely a 4 out of 10. That's the reason I no longer play it, and I'm rating it negatively.

It drew me in with its beautiful environments, strong atmosphere, and great performance optimization (particularly after the Enhanced Edition and later updates). The story-driven focus, puzzles, platforming, exploration, and serviceable combat kept me engaged throughout. It really felt like a well-crafted and memorable fantasy action-adventure game, and it’s quite a remarkable feat for an AA project. Congrats to the devs.

To each their own, I guess. But I don't understand the amount of negative reviews 'Double Exposure' has received. I liked it. It has good music, nice visuals, well-paced storytelling, relatable characters, and a more mature Max. Yes, I saved Arcadia Bay in the first Life is Strange season, and, for me, this chapter is probably Deck Nine's best and most ambitious LiS game, with a thrilling vibe and quality much closer to the original DONTNOD games and far less clichéd and formulaic than 'True Colors'.

It's an enjoyable narrative-driven action-adventure game with serviceable RPG-lite elements, an intriguing plot in the VtM & World of Darkness universe, a good setting, and some Dishonored vibes. As you progress, it only gets better in terms of diverse gameplay possibilities, new mechanics, and narratively with the peculiar protagonist's duality. While the combat may feel a bit "clunky" at first, it gets much more fluid and satisfying once you learn how to make the best use of and complement your vampire skills. I haven't experienced any issues with the launcher, but it shows poor performance optimization, with severe stuttering/hitching during traversal, especially when upscaling/TSR are enabled. Despite these flaws, it's a good overall Vampire: The Masquerade game. If you can deal with its performance issues, I'd recommend it and rate it a 7 out of 10.

Hail to the Rainbow is an absolute blast; a well-crafted, single-developer achievement that puts some AAA studios to shame. The perfect optimization, great narrative, gorgeous aesthetic and visuals, and beautifully cohesive art direction create a rich post-apocalyptic atmosphere that blends story, scares, music, and audio into something memorable. The game may be linear, but exploration remains rewarding, featuring clever puzzles and a consistently engaging pacing that kept me captivated throughout. Difficulty feels fair throughout, with bosses that can be challenging at first but always come down to discovering the right trick or mechanic, making each encounter satisfying rather than frustrating. Overall, it’s an indie masterpiece for me. I highly recommend and rate it a 9 out of 10. Bravo, Sergey Noskov!

Silent Hill f delivers a fresh and original eerie Japanese setting with an engaging psychological horror plot, creepy enemies, smooth and engaging combat, excellent visual design, a flawless OST and sound design, and good performance, with only occasional minor hitches here and there. I highly recommend it.

'Cronos: The New Dawn' delivers a mysterious story worth uncovering, solid survival gameplay, and combat that’s brutally challenging (note: there are no difficulty options; hard mode is the default). Excellent visuals, music, and atmosphere, with smooth performance to back it all up. Tough, but rewarding game (for having an easier and more story-focused experience, you may use a game trainer). I rate it an 8 out of 10, and, technically, it's likely Bloober Team's best game.

It's a masterpiece. The visuals and setting are a joy to experience, the plot is engaging, and the gameplay is an absolute blast. With KCD2, Shadows is also a strong GOTY contender for me.

It's a great "samurai" action-adventure open-world RPG game. It excels in gameplay and combat. The plot is interesting, and its story-telling, sound/music, and visual departs are pretty good. If you liked Ghost of Tsushima, you will enjoy this one too. Aside from the subpar optimization of this port, it's an excellent game in every other respect, and, honestly, it turned out much better than expected, even from a technical standpoint.

Welcome back to the most immersive and realistic medieval action-adventure RPG ever created. With breathtaking graphics, exceptional storytelling, and deeply engaging role-playing gameplay, this game sets a new world benchmark for the genre. The sound design is excellent, and the optimization at launch is top-notch. A huge thank you to Warhorse Studios for delivering yet another RPG masterpiece. It's a must-play for any RPG enthusiast and GOTY candidate.

The game has met all my expectations. It greatly delivers the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. atmosphere, gunplay, lore, and feel. The game offers a vast and unpredictable open area to explore at your own pace. Achieving a solid framerate may require fine-tuning the settings, but the game looks stunning and performs smoothly on my system. The game is further improving with patches and will be with future DLCs. What I've experienced so far has kept me glued to the display for hours and days, and more to come. It's a great game and about masterpiece level. I rate it a 9 out of 10, and it's my 2024 GOTY.

I'm enjoying this game a lot. It's a great single-player adventure game that combines casual but satisfying and fun combat, stealth, puzzle-solving, exploration, and player progression with stunning visuals. The game's graphics performance is great except for the annoying stutters/hitching issue when it autosaves (I hope they fix it at some point). Also, the way the story unfolds and the brilliant game's storytelling serves as an effective tribute to the legacy of Indiana Jones films and old video games. I strongly recommend this game to anyone who enjoys Indiana Jones movies or seeks a casual, fun, engaging action-adventure experience. I rate it a solid 8 out of 10.

This is a great fantasy RPG game. It has excellent character creator and development possibilities, good storytelling, an interesting plot (Inquisition sequel, but you don't need to play any prior game in the series to enjoy The Veilguard), fun and dynamic combat mechanics, and rewarding exploration. The visuals are stunning, and the game performs great and smoothly (this is NOT another #StutterStruggle game). The sound department stands out due to its flawless technical quality and a well-balanced sound mix. From a technical standpoint, this is probably the 2024 best-delivered original AAA game at its release. I highly recommend it if you like the fantasy RPG genre, the Dragon Age series, or want to enjoy a technically well-made and original game before the end of the year. I rate it an 8 out of 10.

Guerrilla Games and Nixxes Software have made a great remaster. While the core gameplay remains unchanged, as it is a remaster and not a remake, the enhancements in graphics and sound extend well beyond mere texture updates. The lighting has been significantly improved, eliminating the game's orange hue in favor of more natural and vibrant colors, and the shadows have been enhanced, some of which are entirely new. Textures on surfaces like walls and floors now employ enhanced mapping methods, adding structure and depth. Improvements in water and reflections are also noticeable. Particularly striking are the modifications to the characters' faces, which appear more real, and Aloy's movement feels smoother. It's a commendable remaster, taking the original PC port to a technical level comparable to Forbidden West, and worth the Euros/$ 10 upgrade cost.

Reveil stands out in the psychological horror indie genre, offering some mind-bending twists. The haunting atmosphere and intricate narrative constantly challenge your perception of reality. The good visuals and excellent sound design significantly enhance the unsettling experience. One of the highlights was the puzzles; they were quite enjoyable to solve and added an engaging layer to the gameplay. Technically, the game is well-optimized and performs smoothly 99% of the time, with only a few minor stutters/hitches during traversal. The thrilling and disturbing journey is short but well-crafted. I highly recommend it if you like narrative-driven psychological horror games and puzzles.

The remake delivers an excellent horror and thrilling interactive adventure experience, faithfully recreated upon the original with meaningful player choices, great storytelling and plot, a good and diverse character cast, high replayability, and good visuals and sound design. It's easily recommendable. I rate it an 8 out of 10.

Unfortunately, I can't recommend this remake in its current state because of the immersion-breaking stuttering and hitching during traversal, and the usual lack of optimization in most recent UE5 games. I'd suggest developers not rush the game's release and consider hiring a team of C++ experts to customize and optimize the Unreal Engine's source code, specifically the streaming and garbage collector components, to suit the needs of their project. Also, a comprehensive shader pre-compilation stage is a must-have. I will change the sense of my review once they resolve the ongoing traversal stuttering/hitching problem. UPDATE (as of 10/28/24): Patch 1.04 and Hotfix 1.05 didn't resolve the traversal stuttering/hitching issue. The game's asset streaming and garbage collector components are still flawed and unoptimized. Also, the added shader compilation stage on the game launch is minimal and incomplete.

It is a good port with some technical flaws but the game is amazing in all departs. The gameplay and plot are even better than in the 2018 (2022, PC) chapter, and the performance and optimization on PC are good overall. It also features the best FSR 3.1 implementation in a game, which is good news. It's an easy recommendation. As a game on itself, I rate it a 9 out of 10, and technically, as a port to the PC platform, I rate it a 7 out of 10. So, my final rate is an 8 out of 10.

I didn't remember what it's like to lose track of time with an action-adventure RPG, till now. Star Wars Outlaws hit the nail. It is an excellent game in all departments—a masterpiece. I'd rate it a 9 out of 10 (pending some performance polishing and minor bug fixes), but I'm giving it a 10 to compensate for the baseless low ratings and the dumb hate train. This game is one of my two current GOTY candidates. The more you play, the more you'll fall in love with it.

BM: Wukong is a good and beautifully crafted mythological fantasy single-player action RPG-lite game inspired by the classical Chinese novel Journey to the West. It features hybrid gameplay mechanics, more lined with soul-like games than role-playing games. The game focuses more on combat and challenging boss fights than exploration, and the level/chapter design is semi-linear. The game plot and Chinese mythological lore are interesting. Optimization and performance-wise, the game shows the same lack of true optimization from the devs as other recent UE5 titles, only featuring super-resolution upscaling techs for user-tweaking. It also shows some shadow/lighting artifacts/graphical glitches in some situations, texture LOD issues, and missing/unfinished text translations (to Spanish, as far as I tested). Despite these issues, which may be mitigated or fixed with post-launch patches (I hope), this game sets a good foundation and AAA debut for Game Science overall.

The game boasts good visuals and the narrative is well delivered, though at times it may drag. Overall, it is a commendable work of art and a good reimagination of the classic game. While not the finest due to some glitches and the never-fixed shader compilation stuttering issue, it is worth it if you like the horror and mystery adventure genre.

As a remake of a 2013 great adventure, it's a decent game/product with a short, enjoyable, and memorable journey, and I would give it a 7 out of 10.

The excellent music and sound department matches a visually well-crafted creepy atmosphere. In terms of gameplay, you will encounter puzzles, zombie aliens, and bosses to defeat. The game offers players three weapons to alternate, including the Frost Grip bracelet, which can freeze monsters and wipe "energy" entities. Players must scavenge for essential items and collectibles while managing limited healing resources and ammunition. The plot is engaging, thrilling, and intriguing, with a few unexpected twists. The game's performance is smooth without any major stuttering issues, though there are minor hiccups after loading new sections and occasional framerate drops during cutscenes. Everybody's Gone to the Rapture is still the best game of The Chinese Room developer.

I loved the game, which stands out for its superb storytelling, gorgeous and breathtaking visuals, and top-notch binaural 3D sound. While it features fewer combat challenges and puzzle variety than the first episode, the latter is less significant in a game that aims to provide an immersive interactive audiovisual experience. Performance-wise, there aren't hitching/stuttering issues. That's great to see. The game is very demanding and has limited "optimization" capabilities, except for the intensive use of res scaling technologies, as performance doesn't scale by much by tweaking in-game graphics settings. Considering everything, Hellblade II is a great game and truly recommendable.

What a disappointment. Quality-wise, it has nothing to do with GreedFall. Everything in this game feels rushed, unpolished, and unfinished. Performance is terrible. The art design is good and the plot interesting, but all its other departs are poorly executed —a low-quality product.

Just in a few words: the last remake of the RE iconic game series is a masterpiece. Also, the DLC is worth playing.
