Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is an excellent game from a narrative standpoint, surrounded by other systems of varying quality — some justified by the pursuit of consistency with the setting, others clearly the result of production issues during development. Overall, it’s better than we expected and turned out to be an engaging and deep experience, certainly worthy of the first Bloodlines in how it portrays the vampiric world.Be aware, however, that the role-playing aspect is expressed more through dialogue than through the rest of the gameplay, and those looking for a title where combat is the most polished part have come to the wrong place.

A great detective story with lots of vampire flair, trapped in the toothless body of a thin-blooded sequel.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 won't be a game for everyone. If you're looking for the depth and variety of content offered by other leading AAA RPGs, The Chinese Room's relatively modest take on Seattle-at-night might leave you feeling a little underwhelmed. But if you want a story that you can sink your teeth into and gameplay that, while not always given the proper room to breathe, often gets the job done, then you'll likely settle into this relaxed-fit action-adventure quite nicely. In a way, Bloodlines 2 is a fitting continuation of its predecessor's legacy: it's deeply flawed, but masterfully written.

Playing Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 leaves behind a strange aftertaste — that of a game that tried, sincerely, to rise again, but never fully escaped the shadow of its own name. It’s a work burdened by expectation: a legacy of moral choice, seduction, and freedom that here survives only in fragments, like memories of a dream once vivid and now fading. The Chinese Room has crafted a game visually arresting and tonally melancholic, a beautiful echo of the World of Darkness brought to life with care and conviction. Yet beneath that cold, magnetic surface, the design falters. Its mechanics rarely match its ambitions, its choices lack real impact, and the immersive role-playing tension that once defined Bloodlines feels reduced to an illusion.

Bloodlines 2 has undeniable qualities: its rich world, its political intrigue, its immersive atmosphere, and some vampiric powers offer real moments of pleasure. But the game multiplies good ideas that it executes poorly and, in this sense, is neither a good RPG nor a good action game. It's a mixed experience that, despite solid writing, suffers from rather poor level design, minimal progression, and low-impact choices, tarnishing the full potential of an otherwise promising sequel. Bloodlines 2 gives the impression of a game rushed out, which did not fully exploit what its flamboyant universe had to offer.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 fails to recapture the original’s magic, instead magnifying the worst parts of Troika’s classic, with janky combat and occasionally woeful performance issues. Long-time VTM fans may enjoy haunting Seattle’s snowy streets, getting to know its well-written cast, and testing each clan’s unique playstyle, but it’s a far cry from what it could have been.

The Chinese Room has managed to make something from a box of inherited parts, but this action RPG feels hollow and functional, and is only redeemed by some stellar performances from the characters and cast.

2.Однозначно стоит внимания.Сразу скажу, играть стоит под : вино, пиво, кофе, чай т.е. неспеша.Сам попал в поток дезинформации по поводу сырости и скудности игры.Являясь фанатом первой части решил сам выйти на улицы Сиетла в роли Вентру и разобраться что у вас тут за дела такие кровосоские творятся, чтобы составить своё мнение.Если вы не фанат, или только собираетесь окунуться в "Мир Тьмы", то скажу что тайтл работает и отдельно от предыдущей игры. Полноценная, самостоятельная история.История работает, очень хорошо. Она захватывает, она не отпускает, она держит вроде бы не сильно, но как только ты ложишься спать - пробуждается чувство будто ты не досмотрел самый интересный сериал. И о да, если вы как и я, любите детективы, то это самая вкусная вишенка, на самом высоком многоуровневом тортике, который ты ешь с осторожностью. Ты ешь его и думаешь : "да ну нафиг, он слишком красивый и приторный этот ваш торт, я не буду это есть, сами жрите. А хрен там, искусив пролог вам уже не отвертеться, вы хотите ещё, вам дают ещё кусочек, ты думаешь "а что если съесть ещё?" ничего не же не случиться, верно? да...? да....???! и вы просто sука не можете остановиться.История так закручена с самого начала что без бутылки водки не разобраться, ты прошел дальше пролога, думаешь ну вот, вроде бы всё понятно, этот вампир плохой, эти вот хорошие, и всё тут. Как бы не так, фишки сюжета постоянно перекладываются, ты как наркоман собираешь этот пазл снова и снова, и всё равно вся картина не отображается, вечно поступают новые детали.Скажу честно, это это самый настоящий фильм, игра работает как художественное произведение искусства, как полотно что ты разглядываешь часами, смотришь по углам, выслеживаешь детали на этом холсте, и с каждым новым взором ты обнаруживаешь новые детали - впечатления, которые тебя вдохновляют на дальнейшее прохождение.Игра очень красива, атмосферная, тянет за нужные ниточки и даже фанатов серии не забыли.Отсылок очень много, по продвижению сюжетной линии, ты замечаешь наработки первой части. Хотя этот тайтл обвиняют в полном отстранении от оригинала. Взяли базу первой части, закрутили похожую концепцию и приправили самыми вкусными пряностями. О да.Какие специи в меню спросите меня? а я отвечу : Музыка | Атмосфера | ОтсылкиПродолжение истории уже полюбившихся героев из первой части.(Найнс - упоминание, Бэт - ведущая радио, у которой прописан свой сюжет если правильно и вовремя остановиться и послушать радиовещание, Дэмзел - появление, Бэккет - упоминание (куда уж без него)У нас же такое же дело как в первой части, с гробом, сракофагом, который все боятся открыть) и не зря!)Кстати про сракофаги, сюжет) также просматривается сходство с первой частью, и это прекрасно работает. Вы мощный вампир, спящий себе уютно в гробу, и вроде бы никому до вас дела нет, и тут после как вас потревожили вы начинаете сосать, всмысле кровь да. и тут понеслось....Сюжет прекрасен тем что вы его видите с разных сторон, со стороны вампира живущего в настоящем, и от лица вампира что жил ещё задолго до этих событий, это всё не забываем в жанре детектива.. ну просто песня. Подача супер атмосферная, именно этого не хватало первой части, этого вашего технического прогресса. Декорации выведены на максимум, ключевые сцены боёв - просто шедевр.Нагнетание обстановки, иногда даже тебе как мощному вампиру очень страшно исследовать мир, погружаться в катакомбы, исследовать клубы и подворотни, игра пугает, воодушевляет и не даёт тебе скучать. Уж очень постарались над визуалом, этого не отнять.Что же необходимо прикрутить к этому выдающемуся визуалу скажите вы? фанаты первой серии скажут однозначто в один голос - музыка! музыкальное сопровождение мать его.... Даааа, от этого у вас встанут даже самые засохшие соски, это прекрасно, это захватывает дух, это супер атмосферно, это просто идеально! сцена в клубе "Атриум" одна из моих любымых!!! мой мозг в это время просто вырубился, боже как это красиво. Отдаю должное, визуал от The Chinese Room это сказка.Но не визуалом и музыкой едины, в этот суп ещё добавили ахринительную боевку. Драться, использовать скиллы, манипулировать сознанием противников, это "ПАРАПА ПА ПАПА то что я люблю"Боевка игры , передвижение, вы реально чувствуете что вы MVP этого города, вам нет равных, с прохождением побочных квестов ваша крутость просто улетает в стратосферу.По сюжету придерживался убеждений Вентру, вел себя соотвествующе. (Подглядев разные исходы событий в интернете, скажу что выбор ой как решает! привет Vampyr с его вариантивностью ответов и молниеностным последствиям после них.В диалогах присутсвуют любовные перепетии, юмор, секс и кровь и котики, всё что нужно древнему вампиру по сюжету, хехехеИгру проходил в захлеб, не ел и не спал, очень сильно задел сюжет. Музыку из игры уже кручу на репите.Советую ознакомиться гопспода и написать своё мнение! брать за фулл прайс) а как же вы хотели иначе спонсировать подобного вида тайтлы?) пора, Сородич) ворваться в мир тьмы) we waiting for you!

I played the first one ages ago when it came out, so yes, I am that old.This sequel has very little connection to the first game, but it is not the bad game everyone has been talking about. The characters are well-written, the music is good, and Seattle in the snow has a great World of Darkness (WoD) **** problem lies in the combat system, which feels like a rushed, first-person hand-to-hand combat game. However, it is worth a try if you have ever played the old WoD RPGs, either tabletop or in video game **** could be better, with more replayability and an FMV ending, but if you catch it on sale, play it for the story (maybe on easy mode). It is definitely worth it. Good: Characters, voice acting, and Urban horror atmosphere. Bad: Combat, slide sequences finals, clans play very similar to each other, some repetition during roaming, yes to violence and blood but censured romatic sequences? It is not BG3 but it is fine.

It's an enjoyable narrative-driven action-adventure game with serviceable RPG-lite elements, an intriguing plot in the VtM & World of Darkness universe, a good setting, and some Dishonored vibes. As you progress, it only gets better in terms of diverse gameplay possibilities, new mechanics, and narratively with the peculiar protagonist's duality. While the combat may feel a bit "clunky" at first, it gets much more fluid and satisfying once you learn how to make the best use of and complement your vampire skills. I haven't experienced any issues with the launcher, but it shows poor performance optimization, with severe stuttering/hitching during traversal, especially when upscaling/TSR are enabled. Despite these flaws, it's a good overall Vampire: The Masquerade game. If you can deal with its performance issues, I'd recommend it and rate it a 7 out of 10.

How Not to make a successor to a beloved RPG game. It's an okay action game, but a terrible RPG. Not sure how you skip 80% of the mechanics from the first game and expect people to like it.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 is clearly the main failure and disappointment of 2025. And this is said by a person who did not play the first part, is not fond of The Masquerade franchise and did not follow the painful and long development of Bloodlines 2 at all. And I took her already knowing all this. I just believed in The Chinese Room, who were entrusted to redo the project. Knowing in advance that the studio has not made action games before, and Bloodlines 2 is just about that. Well, I mean, I only hoped for history and narrative. And it should have become not bad after Still Wakes the Deep. But apparently there is still interference in the development of Paradox. Because Bloodlines 2 is a broken product. Which was ready by 30-40%, but they quickly glued the build from it and decided to sell it like this. The plot here is deprent and linear. And this is the universe of The Masquerade, there are such unlimited possibilities. The only thing that came out in the game is the mission for Detective Malcolm. Although they are linear, they are interesting. Everything else is clean garbage. Optimization is terrible on any hardware. Don't believe the screenshots - the game is beautiful on them (which is true on normal hardware). But it's just the merit of the assets and the work of UE5 itself. The game itself does not feel like a complete single product. But thanks to her, I will still play the first Bloodlines)
