A jack of all trades and master of some, though Rise of the Ronin feels like a melting pot of influences from other games, it is also quite the surprise of the year for me thus far as it clearly shows that Team Ninja has a confident grasp of compelling open world design in a way that many of its genre stablemates do not. Though the visual presentation might be comparatively a little rough around the edges, Rise of the Ronin nonetheless is simultaneously the most accessible and ambitious game Team Ninja has done to date and one that both hardcore action RPG fiends and open world adventure aficionados will surely embrace.

I have played Rise of the Ronin on PS5 Pro and it’s glorious! Framerate mode recommended.

It's a perfect game! This is also a undeservedly underrated game. I feel like someone figured out that it was bad to denigrate it, and everyone has been harping on about it ever since! Meanwhile, it's a great game, set in an exciting historical era, in an exotic location.
On the other hand, the characters are great, I completely fell in love with my own character, but the others became very nice to me too. They are right, interesting, you could get excited for them.
Graphics: the nature, the textures are okay, the faces are expressive and beautiful, the npc's and enemies are relatively individual. The voice acting is also expressive and good to listen to, I really liked the Japanese language during this. And let's not forget about the humor!
I think the combat is brilliant, especially for those who like Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo's combat mechanics. I really fell in love with it in Ninja Gaiden, and I loved being able to practice it here too.
Overall, this is a great fighting game that showcases an exciting era in a Japanese setting, with likeable characters to root for, a roving open world full of beautiful details, shrines and torii gates, blooming cherry trees, and snow-covered streets in Kyoto, and cats and dogs to pet.

While it is not loaded with the fine depth of Red Dead Redemption 2 or the amazing variety of missions of The Witcher 3, Team Ninja's first open-world take is still an excellent experience, mainly because of its spectacular combat system.

Rise of the Ronin aims to deliver an epic story filled with well-rounded characters, an open-world adventure, action-filled combat and a presentation taking advantage of current-gen hardware. For the most part, it succeeds. The story is indeed epic, with plenty of intrigue delivered by well-rounded characters, even at the cost of the player character.

It’s dubious whether the various iniquities of the game are good enough to justify where it goes, especially knowing that all that effort can’t change which way the wind is blowing for Japan by the end.

Rise of the Ronin marries a cool historical setting, Team Ninja’s mastery of tough-but-fair combat, and some smart RPG design to make a game that is immediately compelling, and even more fun with friends. It’s full of cool little touches, whether it’s throwing something at an enemy with the grappling rope or dropping from your glider onto your horse. Unfortunately, it’s also a game full of map clutter, bloated systems, and a truly absurd amount of junk loot, and the time I spent clearing out everything that didn’t spark joy and dealing with all these non-essential systems made me pine for a leaner, meaner, more focused game. Rise of the Ronin is excellent when it has the courage to be itself and lean into its challenging, rewarding fighting; too often, however, it feels stuck in indecision, torn between what it wants to be and what it feels it’s expected to be, and not even the best samurai can overcome that.

Rise of the Ronin is an open world action game set in nineteenth century Japan with both Souls-like elements and exploration à la Assassin’s Creed with a tiny dash of roleplaying the mix. It tries multiple things, but excels in none.

Graficos muy mediocres.Como es posible q en un juego dePs5 se vea tan mal.Otroaspecto q no se entiende es como es posible que tú personaje no se le vean las armas secundarias que lleva (escopeta,arcos,pistola) es lamentable. Lo mejor del juego el combate, es de lo mejor que he visto y eso compensa. La historia normalita. No vale para nada el precio original. Hay q esperar un buen descuento.

You can’t trust reviews and ratings. Before playing, I read a lot of positive feedback and then spent several days waiting for the great game everyone was praising to actually start. First of all, this is not a soulslike (I know what I’m talking about) – it’s Assassin’s Creed, but with terrible graphics. Secondly, the story is dull with lots of uninteresting characters. Thirdly, the animations and graphics look like they’re from the PS3 era. I wasn’t blown away by Ghost of Tsushima, but I’ll say this: Ghost of Tsushima is a masterpiece compared to this. The game's combat is fun and that's all. There are tons of dull side quest and never ending unnecessary loots. Graphics are washed-out and bad. Story is mediocre at best. And the game repeat itself too many times.
