Metroid Prime 4: Beyond8
Dec 25, 2025
Far from the apex of the franchise, but also quite great. My score fluctuates between 7 and 8. I am not choosing a 7 on here, though, as it insinuates a yellow score which I don’t think this game deserves. The visuals are amazing. The combat is fun and intense. The boss battles are thrilling. I find the levels to be well designed and thoughtfully made, even if they are (yes) linear. The only real gripe I have is the desert. But it’s also not as bad as it’s made out to be. I didn’t spend THAT much time in it. And collecting green energy went quickly for me. It still feels like a Metroid Prime entry, even if it’s the weakest one. Considering it went through what it went through in development, this is a great game. Maybe it doesn’t live up to 17 years of expectations, but I do hope that the next game (if there is another one) doesn’t take 10-15 years to develop. I really don’t think it will. If you’re a fan of the Prime series, I expect you to enjoy this even if you have a few nitpicks here and there. It’s absolutely worth a play!

Pokemon Scarlet / Pokemon Violet: The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero - Part 2: The Indigo Disk4
Dec 16, 2023
Meh... I really don't know what to say about this. I have loved Scarlet and Violet probably more than most other folks. I have overlooked the bad, and I really love the games, despite all the backlash, but these DLC packs have been lacking quite a bit. For all the issues that Sword and Shield had last generation, a lot of it was cleaned up in the DLC, and I had hoped the support for legendaries would be improved in the new DLC, like it was last generation. Unfortunately, it was not. Sure, it brought back several legendaries, but it wasn't all of them, and some generations (especially 6) got the shaft with no legendaries or mythicals brought over. By the end of the run for Sword and Shield, pretty much all legendaries, mythicals, and ultra beasts were supported. Here, they are not, and it doesn't make a ton of sense in which ones made the cut and which ones did not. The DLCs themselves have been quite weak. I overlooked the teal mask, because the isle of armor for generation 8 was not huge either, but the crown tundra was massive and brought with it a ton of quality of life updates. I figured the same would be here.... nope. This DLC was actually quite possibly, shorter than even the teal mask. It left me wondering if this was extremely rushed. It felt like it was. The ending was pretty cool, and there was a neat scene at the end that I won't spoil, but about 15 cool minutes and about 5 hours of extended gameplay? It's definitely not worth the price. Neither DLC are. I'm disappointed and I hope for more later, and definitely want them to bring support to all the legendaries and mythicals that are still not supported at this moment. Also, it's quite lame to have us play hard trainers in this DLC and then the legendaries that are brought back and associated to treat quests have 0 IVs and horrible movesets. That's unforgivable and a slap in the face. I do have all legendaries and mythicals, but I am also going to take on all the quests I'm given in DLC and that's just a waste of all of our time. These games are great, even if they have horrible performance issues, but these DLCs are pretty bad. I either want my money back or I'd like a third pack to make this worth my money. Isle of Armor and Crown Tundra were worth my money... This... was not.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder9
Oct 21, 2023
I have not thought a ton of the 2D Mario series. It seemed to have gotten stale over the years. I think the last one I played was New Super Mario Bros Wii (yes, it’s been that long). They’re not bad games, they just tend to repeat themselves over the entries. Well, if you think this is just any other 2D Mario game, you are passing up on a gem! This is the freshest the series has felt, well, since forever in my opinion. New worlds, new enemies, new mechanics. It’s just a whole fresh new start for the series I think. The new wonder flower is a fresh and very welcome mechanic, throwing a lot of different surprises in each level. Some repeat here and there, but for the most part each ushers in a new way to play. The character roster isn’t quite as large as it’s advertised, but it is still a nice large roster, so, I don’t think anyone is gonna be too disappointed. I think making Yoshi an easy mode is what made me disappointed, though. I wanted to play as Yoshi, but him being a reskin of Nabbit is a bit underwhelming. But Luigi is still a good pick. I’m not far into the game yet, and I plan to take my time with it, but I can feel this becoming a 2D Mario favorite for me. It is a nice new fresh start and I hope it’s just the beginning of what’s to come for the franchise.

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond1
Dec 8, 2021
I cannot believe in 2021, people are willing to pay $60 for this. These games were $30 in 2006, and that was when this was top of the line for Pokémon. In 2021, these games are worth about $20. In the past, when Pokémon remade prior generations, they took that classic game and then they brought it into the current generation of Pokémon. New moves, new Pokémon, and new mechanics were put into them to make them fun, creative, and more thrilling. Take that idea and scrap it! BDSP has done nothing but take old DS graphics and up the resolution. That is it. There isn’t even inclusion of Platinum into this game, which is inexcusable, especially for that price tag. The UI menus look like they were made for a gameboy. The graphics look like gameboy graphics, and the online play looks like trash. I wouldn’t mind it if it were a $20 game but for a full retail title, it’s unsatisfactory. This is why you don’t take a beloved franchise and offload it to a developer that only makes mobile games, and then rush it. These cartridges shipped with nothing on them but a skeleton. 80% of the game/content were added day one. It’s a shame because Sinnoh is one of the Pokémon locations with a lot of variation in terrain and sights. This could’ve been the most open world and beautiful of Pokémon games, but it was lazily rushed and ultimately ended up like a flat, cardboard, lifeless diarama. I cannot believe people actually have bought this and now because it’s selling well, this is what Pokémon will probably look like in the future. Low effort, high profits. Quantity does not reflect quality. I hope this is not the future of one of my favorite franchises.

Fruit Ninja 27
Nov 25, 2021
It’s good but I still prefer the first one in a lot of ways. The mission mode and extra features make this feel like there is more to the game, but you will notice that you aren’t able to select what type of game you want to play most of the time. I enjoy playing classic mode and zen mode sometimes, but most of the time I am always wanting to play arcade mode. This game has arcade mode, but you can only play it when it’s available. And sometimes it’s only available for play with tickets, which can definitely feel like an annoyance or microtransaction. If you play the game enough you can amass quite a few tickets, as I have. But I enjoy playing whatever mode I want, on my own time. And the first fruit ninja does that better. The amount of different blades is pretty cool and they’re pretty easy to unlock (easier than in the first game it seems), but I don’t like not being able to customize my dojo like I did in the first game. All in all, it’s definitely good, and I plan to stay with playing it. But there are some flaws that keep this from being better than the first one overall, despite seeming like it has way more to offer initially.

Pikmin Bloom9
Nov 11, 2021
It's cute! It's not nearly as stressful nor content packed as Pokemon Go or Wizards Unite, but if you're an active person and seek out parks and recreations, it can be quite a blast and a satisfying experience. It's fun to collect and name the pikmin and as you level up, you do unlock more things to do. I just unlocked challenges and it was very satisfying to complete one and get a few cool things. It may be more of a niche experience than Niantics two other big games, but for those of us that get it, it's quite cute and fun. Always challenges me to get more steps in as well. I'm an active and athletic person so I tend to get a lot of steps in a day (usually hatch a huge seedling before a day is up), and I'm challenged each day to raise the bar even higher for this game. It's also nice, too, that I feel I don't even have to spend a penny on here for any better experience, though, with it being new and I'm sure others feel the same way, they will probably add content that will cause someone to feel like spending money on the game. I'm wondering how that will change my experience in the long term, but for now, I'm enjoying my time with this. You can also log pictures and journal entries for each day. So it's nice to look back on the days/week you've had.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD7
Jul 20, 2021
Whoever said that this is better than Breath of the Wild has lost their mind. Lol. But I will say that I am enjoying this HD remake more than the first time I played this on Wii. It's nice to play the game in 60 FPS and in high quality textures. The art style is quite gorgeous and the game has held up well over time. Prior to this HD remake, I never finished my original playthrough of the game. I got several hours into the game, but I did not enjoy the controls and I ultimately traded the game in. I had no desire to really get this again, but I had a ton of store credit and just decided to go for it anyway. I was leery of the motion controls, but they seem to work just fine. I am definitely enjoying the non-motion controls. They seemed like they'd be awkard, but they work pretty well once you get the hang of using them. Still, a lot of the glaring flaws the game has are present (and there's not much they could've done to fix them). Like, the silent realm, back tracking, repetitive nature. Those things were part of the original game and they're still here. It's not quite as much of a chore this time around, though, because of the controls. I'm looking forward to finishing the game getting all collectables. That's what I've done on all the Zelda games and I intend to continue the tradition. But, yeah, it's obvious to see why Nintendo changed the direction of Zelda after this.

Such a great series! I've been playing since the first one on Gamecube. Taking what we already love about the series and building on it, this game will be just as good as we all hoped for, no doubt about it. The crafting aspect is very welcome and being able to shape and remodel your island to your will is such a step forward for the series. I've only put around 5 hours on this so far, but I'm already in love! After spending 5-10 more hours on it today, I can say this is easily the best animal crossing to exist! They really covered everything, and everything is turned up to eleven. Each and every aspect that could have gotten better has gotten better, just look at the museum for instance! It is incredible!

Luigi's Mansion 37
Nov 18, 2019
Quite a step forward for the series, though, it is still not back on its feet. Maybe it's because I'm older than a lot of Switch players now, but I played Luigi's Mansion on the Gamecube when it first launched in 2001. It was quite an understated title, and it didn't get the greatest of reviews, but my cousins and I loved it. It was never really a "survival horror" game by any means, but the creepiness was there at times, and the portrait ghosts were really interesting and fun. But, see, Dark Moon is where Luigi's Mansion seemed to derail. I didn't like it. The graphics were okay, but it's like the franchise went way off in a separate direction than where it started. Sure, there were new features, but it lacked the charm that the first one had, and the mission-based level progression overall broke the immersion. Fast forward to now, I see the trailer for this game, and even though it had the graphics of Dark Moon and the ghosts from said game returning, knowing the whole game was set in one "mansion," or hotel in this game's case, had me in more optimistic spirits as the lack of this broke the immersion in the last game. The dark light returning and all those newer features were fine with me and were kind of like icing on the cake. When I first started up this game, I was in love. It was almost like Luigi's Mansion was back on track. The whole hotel seemed to run together and going up from the parking deck to first and second floors seamlessly made me feel so happy; however, this excitement seemed to end rather quickly for me. No, the game doesn't turn into a mission based progression, but the floors begin to lose continuity. See, in the first game everything takes place in a mansion. You never seem to feel like that atmosphere is lost. In this game, each of the floors begin to become drastically different, and that would be okay if it never lost sight of where it was going. I mean a pyramid and a ghost ship inside of a hotel? That makes literally no sense. Those nonsensical things along with the absence of ghosts with a personality and backstory like the portrait ghosts of the first game just make this a "good" outing rather than a great return for the series. Sure, it's a step forward from Dark Moon, but it's still hard for me to recommend at full console game price. I just hope that the series regains some of the things that made it so beloved and special in the first place in future outings.

Have to admit I wasn’t too crazy about this game at the very beginning. It felt more like a fetch quests for gyms at first. But I stuck with it and it grew on me. Yeah, it’s a shame they did away with half the Pokémon and that the game doesn’t feel quite as large as other Pokémon games, but once you get through all the gyms, it seems that the story really gets going. I also love the legendary wolves. They gave me a feeling of almost like Twilight Princess at times. The new galarian forms of older Pokémon are pretty cool and bring a new sense of life to those old friends. I just completed it all today and really started playing around with the Wild area and engaging in some of the giganimax raids. And I have to say they work well and are a lot of fun. I didn’t care how some of the Pokémon were capped off and were restricted until earning all the badges. But I must say if you stick with it and just get all the badges out the way, this game becomes a lot better. So stick with it and you’ll enjoy it, even if it is quite a rickety start.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate10
Dec 13, 2018
This is THE ultimate Smash Bros. game. Nintendo wasn't kidding whenever they said they were giving us everything. Over the years, they have had characters come and go, and it was upsetting to see some go (such as Snake), but this game brings everyone back... and more! This roster goes above and beyond my expectations. With a vast variety of characters, you really can't go wrong here. I personally love Cloud and Shulk the most, but all fighting styles are represented and represented well. It also seems like some characters' movesets were updated as well, which is always nice. I think Bayonetta got a lift, as well as Cloud, and for the better! The classic mode here is nice, and feels a lot like the older games. It's really cool that they tailored each and every character to have a different experience and theme. It's hard to explain, but when you go through the mode, you'll see what I mean. The only gripe I have is that the bonus stage is the same for everyone. I wouldn't have minded a target break stage, but if that's all I gripe about, then well this game is fantastic. The new adventure mode, World of Light, is huge and epic. I still haven't finished it yet, but I'm 7 hours in the story mode alone and it feels like I still have a long way to go. It's very addictive though, and powering up your character is rewarding. I plan to play more with it now that I've finally unlocked all the characters in classic mode, which was definitely quite a feat. The challengers definitely show up to fight! It's fast, it's fun, and it's competitive, improving vastly upon Smash Bros Wii U and Brawl, not that they were bad games, but they weren't quite as quick and seemless as this game is. I feel this is the TRUE successor to Melee, except more diversity and better graphics! I do hope they improve online play. I noticed quite a lag, and I have really good internet connection.

Pokemon: Let's Go, Pikachu!8
Nov 19, 2018
Not nearly as bad as everyone is making it out to be. It was never planned to be a "mainline" game (that will come next year). It was just made to be a placeholder between Gen 7 and Gen 8. That's all. And for what it is, it is such a joy to play. It is so fun to go back and revisit the Kanto region in new, HD graphics. It sends me on a nostalgia trip. However, the downfall here that I see is the leveling system is kind off. It seems you gain a lot less exp than in previous games, either that or the bar moves slower (can't figure it out), but it took me a while to level up and get some of my pokemon to evolve. But other than that, I don't really see a flaw. The ordinary battle system will come back in the next game next year. It is not gone for good. This was just a spin-off and placeholder, and for that I see absolutely nothing wrong with it. I just enjoy having a new pokemon game to sink into.

Super Mario Party6
Oct 15, 2018
I am really struggling with this one. I got it on launch date, but I have tried playing all the modes and getting all unlockables before sharing my review to see how things sunk in. One part of me wants to absolutely love it, and another thinks it's not that great. I think this one was hyped up way too hard. They had ditched the vehicle mechanic and returned with the classic gameplay, they returned with minigames after every turn, and the character roster is diverse and the best the series has ever had. HOWEVER, this game has some glowing flaws that still cannot be overlooked. Boards: first and foremost, there is a problem with the boards. There are only 3 unlocked from the start, and the fourth is unlocked after playing on all 3. The fruit island one is probably the only one I'll give a passable score to, and even then it's nothing noteworthy for the series. The other 2 boards are just boring and gray. The unlockable Kamek board is alright, but still quite boring. The boards needed more color and personality. And what happened to happening spaces? I feel like almost next to nothing happens on the boards and that they are just a means to an end really, and on top of that, they are all very TINY, which I will discuss in my next point. I just hope that Nintendo brings new boards into the game as free updates or DLC, preferably the former because this game was $65 and doesn't have nearly the content to justify that price. Character dies: This is one of the most polarizing parts of the game, in my opinion. I think it is a great idea, and part of me hates it. And this, unfortunately, is why I think that the boards are tiny. Some characters (such as Donkey Kong and Bowser), have some great numbers on their special die (8+), but they have a lot of chances for 1's or 0's, too. Now this does make for character balance in a sense, but still it will have you moving 0 or just a few spaces each turn for a while, and while it shakes things up, I think it is what keeps the boards from flourishing as much as they should. I also wish they'd bring back the 1-10 dice block. 1-6 is what also keeps the boards small. Maybe do an update and try to alter out some of the character dies. It makes me feel like at times I have to be a character I do not like (Wario or Diddy Kong) just for their dies and not be able to be who I want to be (Bowser Jr. or Donkey Kong) because their special dies are so pathetic. Now for the good: Minigames return!: Mario Parties 9 and 10 were notorious for the vehicle mechanic and the removal of minigames after every turn. It lead to sort of chaos as to leaving it up to random chance (random minigames on random spaces) or minigame spaces which could be landed on a lot or none at all. In this game, they do them after each turn which does bring back that Mario Party feeling I've missed for far too long. And on top of that, the minigames are fantastic! Seriously I can't think of a single one I don't enjoy in some way. Characters: As I said before, the character selection is wonderful. It is the most I've seen in any Mario Party game. Just missing a few, but most classic characters and favorites are all here. Game modes: There are so many different modes it is unreal, and there are so many different ways to play to keep you and your friends going. I do wish that maybe they cut back on some of these, though, in order to focus a little more on the traditional Mario Party game mode, but I shouldn't complain about versatility. In the end, the game isn't terrible, but it's just not exactly scratching that Mario Party itch that myself and I'm sure many others thought before it came out. It certainly has potential, but I feel it is a missed opportunity until we can get more boards and more eventful boards, which may not even happen. Minigames are the shining part of the series, but we still can't overlook the boards, and I feel that's what they did here, and it's just far too big of a problem than can be overlooked. It's just not worth the price tag.

Octopath Traveler9

Had this since its release date and was going to let it soak in before reviewing. Glad I did as my thoughts changed a lot since I first played. I wasn’t necessarily disappointed by it at first, but I thought it wasn’t exactly as deep as I wanted it to be. It also felt more meandering at the beginning as well and combat was a little longer than I wanted it to be, and I felt a lack of coverage. All these things kinda changed upon completing the game. I think overall it took me about 90-95 hours to complete the whole thing. The characters are great. The combat improved substantially upon unlocking secondary jobs, which allowed more coverage and made fights feel more even. And obviously this is one of the most beautiful games I’ve ever played. Graphically it is phenomenal and I feel it will age very well in that regard. If I had one gripe, it would be the connectivity of the stories. Yeah, taking on the optional final boss does give a little insight into how they’re connected but it is still kind of a stretch, and still is only optional. Each of the stories are good, but it’s really hard to believe that a whole party is working together in them. You fight with them but no character ever really bleeds over into another’s story. I found this to be mildly disappointing but overall didn’t change my views of the game majorly, it just is what kept it from a 10 in my book. Other than that I can say it is one of the best games I’ve ever played, in most other aspects. The character customization is deep, the combat is more like a complex puzzle, the stories are interesting and have depth, but wrap up just before overstaying their welcome. And the world is quite big despite being linear. I feel the game is worth it’s price tag for sure. Just wish we’d have more character interaction. If you’re feeling like it’s a bit of a drag at the beginning, just stick with it. The first 10 hours are the hardest to get through, but after that it is such a joy to play. Loved how long it actually is. Felt I got my money’s worth

Super Mario Odyssey8

I enjoyed this thouroughly, but it’s not quite as good as it’s touted to be. A 97 is a bit much and being considered one of the greatest games of all time is a little exaggerated and dramatic. For what it is, though, it is cute. The graphics are nice and the gameplay is fun. The main story is pretty short and simple, but I think most everyone is here for the post-game anyway. Collecting the moons is fun, but it can get repetitive at times. The game is mostly easy and the boss fights follow a clear pattern, but there Re some difficulty spikes here and there. I’d still recommend to casual gamers though. It definitely feels like a successor to Super Mario 64, but I found Super Mario 64 to be better. Super Mario Odysseus major problem for me is that the worlds are so small and claustrophobic. I feel like I could get the hype behind this game if the worlds were huge and immersive, but usually around the time you’re getting into a world is around the time you’ve seen all there is to see. There are hidden rooms and hidden moons here and there, but for the most part the worlds are very small. I’d even say Super Mario 64 has bigger worlds than this game. And despite this game playing wonderfully and has neat details even down to the HD ruble, I cannot give it higher than an 8. I got all moons, coins, souvenirs, music, etc in about 55 hours. Main story itself only takes about 10. For scale, I’ve done over 200 hours on Breath of the Wild. 55 hours for 100% completion in my opinion is quite a short game. Between Breath of the Wild and this, is much higher recommend Breath of the Wild, but if you have that and want something else to hold you over, I’d recommend this, but $60 is a bit steep for smallish worlds.

Kinda surprised to see such a low score here. This is a lot of fun! It’s a lot like Candy Crush, except I enjoy it more. It’s sort of like a match 3, except not exactly. You can do as little as two at the time and you don’t have to swap blocks around. Unfortunately, it’s not without its flaws. Like Candy Crush, there is an element of skill and foresight, but there is still the looming element of luck present here. It doesn’t matter how good you are if the only moves you can do make no impact on clearing the level (I find this happening quite a bit). But it’s fun because I find it to be a lot more challenging than Candy Crush was. I recommend it.

Sonic Dash 2: Sonic Boom4
Jul 9, 2017
Being a fan of endless runners and the first Sonic Dash, I was excited for round 2. Unfortunately it’s left a lot to be desired. I still have it on my phone, but it’s just not exciting to click on anymore. As far as visuals and gameplay go, it’s pretty and it’s a fun runner, but you’ll start to see where it’s just not as good as Sonic Dash. The rings seem to have no value. In the first Sonic Dash you used them to upgrade your abilities. As far as I can see from this game, there are no abilities to upgrade. Instead, you get sprites which are one use or forever use. You can originally use only one and others cost red coins, which are pretty rough to earn. Just like the last game, you can get 5 each day, but the rest have to be earned from presents which can also come from events. I don’t like the sprite mechanic because it’s based on luck. You get a free one every few hours or you can pay 15(!!!!) red coins to draw another (ridiculous). The events are repetitive which kinda ****. You either have to collect this many coins, kill this many enemies, or go through this many hoops, etc. Most are only up for 3-4 hours and unless you buy a booster each week or you are lucky enough to get one, you probably won’t finish the events with just 4 tickets. I can normally get the ring event with 4 tickets but that’s it. After you use them up there’s a 4 hour waiting period meaning that event is basically done. Anyway, yeah, annoying and repetitive. Speaking of repetitive, the worlds are flat and repetitive. I think there are 3 different themes and they really don’t change up much. Leveling up seems to serve no purpose as it doesn’t seem to give you anything for it (no extra slots, no sprites, no upgraded abilities from what I’ve seen). Rings serve little to no purpose. I’ve gotten my main 3 character to level 4 which didn’t require many rings. Now to upgrade them I need 15(!!!) star coins each which will take me a long time if I don’t wanna pay for them (which I don’t). Unsure of the cost after that level as I haven’t passed it with any character yet. Facebook integration is kinda lame here. On the first Sonic Dash, you could see all the scores of each of your Facebook friends. On here you can connect with Facebook, but it’s more like a data save as you can’t see any friends’ scores unless you swap friend codes, which I think is a dumb idea. The game seems like a lot of fun once you start, but it’s hard to keep going back to it. It just feels like such a chore. Scores seem to serve no purpose, rings serve no purpose, nothing to really upgrade, leveling serves no purpose, events somewhat serve a purpose but unless you have a booster, they’re unattainable for the most part, so what am I playing this for exactly?

Seriously as bad as other reviewers are saying. I picked this up because the deluxe edition was $20. I figured since it stays updated, a lot of the bugs and stuff would be worked out. I was completely wrong. $20 is still too much for this. The new coaster building mechanic is great, but that is all I can say. I logged 72 minutes on and played a total of probably 5 or 10. Loading times are ridiculous and it kept crashing so I kept losing my progress. Even with sandbox mode, the parks are TINY. Remember in 3 how big sandbox mode was? Well, you're not getting that here. When it comes to thrill rides and "flat rides" as they call it, the selection is pretty good, encompassing some items that aren't in other games, but still lacks a lot that 3 had. When it comes to coaster selection, it's laughable. Sure they look better and more detailed, but there are only a handful. 3 had so much more. Despite having better graphics, I can't recommend this over 3. You'd think in almost 13 years we'd get a good RCT return.. but nope. Just bad. Really really bad. I figured the reviews were over-exaggerating, but they're not.

It's surely not the abomination that Rollercoaster Tycoon 4 Mobile was, but it's still not a great game either. I often wonder what exactly happened to this series. The first three entries were absolute gems, with Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 possibly being better than the first two. As of late, though, this series has seemed to crash and burn. I shouldn't have to tell you just how bad Rollercoaster Tycoon World is, and I'm honestly thinking they have abandoned that game altogether. Even worse than that was Rollercoaster Tycoon 4 Mobile, which there was never a RCT4, and if that was RCT4, then they needed to go back to the drawing board. It was a freemium abomination with poor graphics and shallow game mechanics, not to mention I kept glitching after the same part and unable to progress. This game; however, takes the freemium route as well, but makes a deeper game than RCT4M. The graphics are better, the game is deeper, and there is more selection. However, it's really hard to get immersed in it as none of the customers feel real. They don't have personalities and they just feel more like decoration than an integrated part of your theme park. It's also hard to play in long bursts unlike the first installments of the series because everything is so expensive and waiting times take a while. As always, you can buy extra money and stuff, but I choose not to do that route, especially since this game isn't really immersive. The new rollercoaster building mechanic isn't good either and that's a shame considering that's one of the major parts of this series. It often results in some weird looking rollercoasters that don't abide by the laws of physics. The verdict: it's okay, but it doesn't even approach the higher points in this series. It's an improvement over the last mobile Rollercoaster Tycoon game, but at the same time, that isn't really saying much because that game was a disaster. If you don't mind being nickel-and-dimed, you'll probably like this more than I did, but I can't help but wonder what happened to this beloved franchise. It isn't what it used to be.

Resident Evil 7: biohazard8
Feb 7, 2017
The best Resident Evil game since Resident Evil 4. Takes the player back to the old survival horror days like the very first iteration. The game has puzzles and has you examine items pretty closely to advance sometimes. The story is great and even though it's not directly connected with the other Resident Evil games, the lore is nice to read upon, besides, the Resident Evil timeline was becoming to get too convoluted anyway. The fact that it's in first person doesn't alter the experience at all, but that's really the only huge difference this game has, other than the return to horror roots that were not present from 5 til now. The only downside is that the game is pretty short. They advertised 14-16 hours of content, but my blind playthrough was right around 10 hours. I then did a speedrun on easy and did it in 3 and a half hours. Madhouse is quite a fun experience while it lasts. Unfortunately it does not offer too much replay value. Sure, running around with infinite ammo is fun for a few plays then it loses a bit of luster, which is why I had to bump my rating down a couple notches, but if you can get it cheap or you have lots of GameStop credit, I recommend trying it out. It's very fun while it lasts. Graphics are phenominal

$10? Really? I mean I was enjoying the first 3 levels but it seems way too short to be $10. I had been looking forward to this since the keynote but this just disappoints me majorly. And for something that is online-only, it doesn't really offer any online experience. Potential is there but I'm not paying $10. Should be longer to be worth that. The potential keeps me from giving it a 0. $5.... maybe but it's just a runner, a seemingly short one at that. Temple Run is free. Come on Nintendo.

Paper Mario: Sticker Star4
Oct 9, 2016
Nintendo took everything we knew about Paper Mario and flipped it on its head. All the fun worlds are now gone and replaced with a world map, endless backtracking, bland and one-dimensional characters (basically all Toads), pointless combat (uses up stickers and gives nothing in return), no humorous characters, and not much of a story. The graphics are definitely nice, but that's about the only good thing I can say about it. I tried to be positive about this game but compared to the previous ones, it's bad.

Resident Evil 4 HD10
Sep 13, 2016
I'd be lying if I said this game held up well. It has not. It was made before dual analog sticks so being unable to move while aiming makes this game feel extremely dated. The screen ratio which cannot be fixed makes this game feel horribly cropped and some cut scenes are just kinda blurry. It's as if you took a screenshot, passed it on, screenshot that, passed it on and screenshot yet again and then zoomed in a bit. Sometimes it can be fuzzy. But however, it is not always that way. The graphics can be very nice in the environmental textures and with your characters. Though it's really not much different than the HD remaster on 360. In fact, it's probably the same thing (but I didn't get that remaster. The last time I played was the Wii Edition, so that's why I purchased this remaster). But in the grand scheme of things, yeah it's not the most perfect port and it's not the most beautiful game now, but at the time this game was. And it will always be a classic, hence why I will not rate it below a 10. The experience we got when it first came to GameCube was something else. It's something you wish you could get amnesia about just so you can replay it again without knowing you'd already been through it. Older resident evils were more like a scavenge puzzle type game, and surely this one has its share of puzzles but it still feels almost like a Zelda-type game that met Resident Evil. It's definitely the strongest of the series, though it's so cliche to make that statement. Bottom line: if you haven't purchased this since the Wii edition or before and want another run through, or maybe you've never experienced this masterpiece before, it's impossible to not recommend. And it's cheap!

Fallout 4: Nuka-World9
Sep 5, 2016
I know that not all will agree with me, but I think Fallout 4 was a wonderful game and one of the best I've played in years, but I'm pretty sure the general consensus on the DLC packs were pretty much all in agreement: it ****. Besides this and Far Harbor, it was bad to just mediocre. The workshops could've been free add-ons. Only having 2 story-related DLCs made me feel cheated in comparison to previous games. Anyway, Nuka-World is actually a pretty neat little pack and is actually pretty quality DLC that rivals some in 3 and New Vegas. The story is quite linear and not quite as good as other packs, but there is definitely a lot of content to explore. New legendary power armor sets and some nice new weapons for sure! Loved the Fun House and Nuka-Galaxy coaster as well. Thought those were really fun. The raider settlements are pretty cool, though, they can mess up relations with other characters so I'd do them at my own risk or maybe on another save file, but they're completely optional. Overall I have been pleased with this. Put about 30 hours into this DLC doing the quests and exploring and still haven't gotten everything yet. If you want some good DLC for Fallout, this is a great one for sure.

Fallout 4: Contraptions Workshop3
Jun 21, 2016
Well... It's not anything mindblowing, but there is more here than in the Wasteland Workshop DLC. Bethesda kinda left us up in the air after Far Harbor. We all knew we were going to get a second set of DLC in the same vein as the last set of DLC, but wasn't for sure whenever it was going to happen. Well it's coming the next 3 months and they are including 2 more workshops and another like Far Harbor called Nuka World. Okay, well, I'd personally take another like Automatron over another workshop, but at least this one has a few things that keep it from being the abomination that was Wasteland Workshop. Personally, I think these workshops should just be free updates, but as a season pass buyer I get these as they come out. Had I known all these DLC packs wouldn't be story based, I might've changed my mind about buying the season pass, but too late for that now. Anyway, short and simple, this DLC has some new decorations that are more funny and it also comes with some displays cases to decorate and show off your loot (though, to whom you're showing off isn't clear considering it's not an online game luls). It also has some neat little machines where you can turn junk into toys and different items, which I will admit I got some entertainment from just watching them. Can't give this over a 3, though, to be honest. I don't use the settlements much anymore and really and truly the only way you'll get the most out of this is to be a settlement fanatic, and even then you might still be a bit bored. I WANT MORE STORY RELATED DLC LIKE FALLOUT 3 AND NEW VEGAS! That's why I purchased this season pass. IS IT THAT HARD TO UNDERSTAND, BETHESDA?! I hear that after Nuka World, Bethesda will be done with DLC for this game, and if that is so, it is a shame. Fallout 3 and New Vegas both had 5 large story-related DLCs for $10 a piece... $50. They're wanting to pass off this Season Pass for $50 and only give us half (or less than half really) for the same price? BS. Far Harbor was priced at $25 (and I'm assuming Nuka World will be $25 as well) but the other Fallout games' DLC was priced at $10 for the same quality. They're thinking they're slick and giving us the 2 story DLCs at full price and these workshops for "free," but they're really only giving us $20 worth of material and trying to sell it for $50 ($30 before the hike, which, thankfully, is when I purchased it.. Can't imagine throwing away $50). Anyway sorry about the griping, but I'm a bit upset at this

Fallout 4: Far Harbor8

Pretty good DLC. The best yet for Fallout 4. Up until now, Fallout 4's DLC was pretty mediocre. To keep this review short, this is more like Point Lookout than any of the other Fallout DLC, complete with even a trippy hallucinogenic moment. I'd personally give this a 9 or 10, but it was weighed down too much with annoying puzzle solving in the middle of the main quest. The first 3 or so puzzles were fun but the last 2 were annoying and took upwards of an hour (!!!) to complete; not to mention the instructions for the puzzles were not very deep and it took a lot of trial and error to get through that part. I also thought there was a lack of loot. There's a neat power armor set, but really if you have an X-01, it's pretty much unneeded unless you just wanted the paint job. I also got a gun that I cannot find ammo for (lol). Seriously I've looked at all merchants and can't find any. I found the storyline to be fun and engrossing but the way it all ends was a little lackluster. I'm hoping there are alternatives, but I've only been through one run-through as of now, and the tougher enemies are pretty cool as well as a couple queen mirelurk battles. But it's not quite as massive as I had hoped it would be. i still made it through within 6 hours, whereas the last 2 DLCs were 2 hours or less. But it was nice to have a classic Fallout DLC pack that takes us to another world with a whole new interesting story like Fallout 3 and New Vegas had. Fallout 4 hadn't had one until now.

Guitar Hero Live5
May 17, 2016
I've always loved the Guitar Hero franchise and this game is pretty cool but compared to its previous iterations it's a bit different (and not always in the best way). I'm neither here nor there with the new guitar controller. I think it'd be easier with the regular controller but it feels a bit more like playing a real guitar with the new controller. Just sometimes it makes me mad whenever I hit both the top and bottom buttons of the first fret when only trying to hit the top one. The track list is a bit "meh." It ranges in genre and all and it really has some stellar tracks to boot, but I wonder why exactly some of the songs are on there. Not to mention some of the bands included have a lot better songs that should've been on here as opposed to the ones that were put on here. More metal would've been ideal. Previous games included more heavy music and metal. The UI is fantastic btw. Looks incredible. I cannot find a single gripe in that regard. Now what I find really hurting this game more than anything is: 1) limited online modes and 2) freemium features. As far as I know you can do co-op songs on free play but I don't think there are any face off modes from what I can tell. There are also no online face off modes to play with friends. The online mode is called GHTV and you just mainly play through stations and can choose a song to play on your own using "plays." Now "plays" are one of the things that I also don't care for, as they add this overwhelming "freemium" feel to the game. As you level up by completing songs on GHTV, you get more plays and coins (which can be used for more plays after hoarding them). This may not seem like a bad thing at first but once you use up a lot of plays and you get past level 12 on GHTV, you stop getting free plays with each level up. You then must grind out playing stations or pay for plays with real money then. I can see what guitar hero did and why they did it this way. It makes it to where you can play whatever whenever without necessarily having to pay for a track. It's almost like streaming from Spotify or something like that. And in that case, it works. But in my Guitar Hero playing experience; I like the replay value! So I'm going to play these songs that I like more than once. Problem is that it burns trough my plays which is annoying. I just kinda wish they'd keep it like this but give an option to purchase the songs for unlimited plays in the quickplay section. Or at least offer some sort of monthly price (say $5 or so dollars a month for unlimited plays rather than having to use plays). I find that this feature weighs the game down a lot since this is probably where all the replayability of the game will be, and with it being like this, it makes the replayability quite bleak. I also miss the practice feature and being able to restart songs*. This definitely takes away from the game. I'm basically having the learn a whole new guitar and being able to practice songs would be very useful so I can nail some tricky sections, but this game apparently thinks otherwise. And what if I have a bad start and want to change the difficulty and restart the song? No way to restart the song in GHTV mode and if you're playing a set in GHLive, you'll have to start all the way over from the beginning of a setlist (also not fun). Also wish there were a volume setting for the audience. At times in GHLive and quickplay mode, the audience drown out the music, and it bothers me a lot. GHTV doesn't have that issue which makes me wish I could use it more, but the limited plays hurts this game majorly. Just think more about these ideas if you want a 9 or 10 Guitar Hero game again. I'm giving this a 5 but this could be a strong 8 if they'd fix GHTV and a 9 or 10 if they'd fix up the GHLive mode (in addition to GHTV mode).

Big heaping pile of poop. Only adds cages. You'd think they would add some things to make the settlements more in depth or more personality to the settlers, but nope. Just cages. And there are no cool cinematics to start off any fights.. Seriously this is so disappointing and some of the worst DLC Bethesda has even put out. Not even worth $5.. I mean I have the season pass, but don't make me regret buying it. New DLC better be worth it and actually have something cool behind it.

Awesome game and I'm not even much of a fighting game guru. I kinda figured we were overdue for a pokemon fighter though as battles were obviously a common occurance in the RPG counterparts. The fighting style is neat in that it moves through phases (basically where you can walk around a venue and another which is close combat) which have different movesets. It challenges you to strategize on what moves to do when. It can get more complicated than it seems especially on lower league battles. The graphics are pretty good, especially for the textures and details on the pokemon. The background could use a bit more of an improvement, but it's not a big deal at all. The unlockables are pretty cool and addictive to earn, though I don't see someone putting that much time and effort into his or her avatar, but seeing new things pop up is always exciting (and there are tons of them)! There are only 2 things that keep me from giving it a perfect ten and that's the roster and a minor thought about combat. The roster isn't bad by any means, but it's a lot smaller than most fighters, which normally have a ton of fighters, but I assume that Nintendo will put out some DLC in the future to add in some extras. I think that Meloetta would be a cool choice and let it have different movesets for each of its forms.. Just an idea anyway. My minor gripe about combat is that sometimes it isn't fluid and can favor the computer player. As I went through my league (and yes I finally completed the whole thing), the computer obviously got tougher, but it got to the point to where I couldn't avoid some of the hits even if I tried to block, which made me a bit frustrated at times. Anyway this game is awesome and deserves quite a bit more than just a 76. I recommend this to pretty much anyone who likes fighters and anyone who likes pokemon.

Pretty decent add on for Fallout 4, though I kinda expected more. GIves a reason to dust off the game disc if you're one like I am who did everything in the basegame and got all loot and whatnot. Starts off pretty promising, but once you get to the final mission, it gets really repetitive and you spend a lot of time meandering, which I thought took away from this DLC and keeps me from giving it an 8+. The robot creation is a neat addition, though, I don't necessarily know how many would really put THAT much time into it, but being able to make Ada your companion and modify her is neat. I guess I expected a more immersive experience as I finished this DLC in 1 hour and 58 minutes, but I guess it being $10 shows it wasn't going to be massive, but it's better than starting off Fallout 4 DLC with a flop I suppose. Ready to see what else they have planned for us.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 55
Mar 4, 2016
Not as bad as its being made out to be, but not really a jewel either, though unlike many I usually play single player games, only play multiplayer games occasionally. The game is definitely not a great looking one with an almost cel-shaded appearance that doesn't really fit the game's atmosphere. The create a skater has been extremely turned down and in fact you may not even know it exists if you don't know how to access it and the styles are pretty limited. The board selection is decent though. I was also pretty let down that you cannot edit pre existing movesets as most every skater has the same special tricks except for grinds and manuals. Not really a dealbreaker in my opinion though. I think what really messes up the experience is the boring levels. The levels themselves are pretty claustrophobic and exploring isn't that much fun. No one really explores in TH games, I know, but the skate letters, combo letters, and collectibles are very easy and no brainers. The missions themselves in levels aren't too bad, though the advertising of 80 different missions feels as an overstatement since there technically may be 80 separate missions, but they all follow the same pattern: get a score, run through rings, do what tony tells you to do, big head mode, etc. So it can get a bit repetitious. Now I do know games these days have xp and levels to level up in, and this one followed suit, though in a Tony Hawk game I don't really see the use in leveling up. Doesn't make much sense. I mean maybe if it changed the stats, but you get stat points for completing missions. But yeah the worlds seem quite empty. I think the dev team thought many more people would play the game so the parks should be full of free skating socialites whenever no one really advanced more than the first couple levels. I've completed the game and gotten 1000 G and after selecting any level after Bonfire Beach, there are pretty much no others to see anywhere. Instead of feeling like THPS3 or THPS4, it feels like THPS1. Now that was an awesome game back in the day, but in 2015 it feels outdated and old. Especially to pass off for $65. I got the game for practically nothing after trading in games and it being on sale, so I can't say I feel ripped off but I can see where I'd probably hate it more had I paid full price. Not to mention the create a park feature isn't bad and actually a lot could've been done with it but many of the community don't really feel obligated to create parks since there isn't a big community to play them, though there are a few good ones if you search hard enough. I don't necessarily think the dev team hastily threw it together. I believe they worked on it a while and had some good ideas, the only problem was that it only sounded good on paper and once it actually came to be, it wasn't what it seemed like it would be. Also the removal of local multiplayer was a bit weird especially since it takes 8 people to do an online multiplayer game and good luck finding that with no one else playing the game! I'm not going to lie, I've had a lot of fun with this game and I personally do like most of the old school feel about it, but if you're wondering if you should get it or not, I'd say wait for it to be on sale and there being nothing else you see you spending your money on... Or you can just get the THPS1 HD remake

Resident Evil 65
Jan 18, 2016
Still playing this game (and not in a good way). I got this Christmas 2012 and played it here and there and so far, 3 years later, I've finished Leon's campaign and just finished Chapter 4 of Chris's. I can say that this game is not nearly as good as any previous Resident Evil. It's very clunky. The first Resident Evil will forever be a class as well as 2 and 4 and I even loved 5! I cannot play this game in long bouts because well it's clunky and annoying. The camera angles are terrible and the responsiveness is awful. It's not that the responsiveness is really the problem, it's how the controls work with the game. It's just very awkward. Also, it's extremely hard to make it through the game without infinite ammo. There are waves and waves of zombies everywhere but I can't really do anything to them because I have no ammo yet it keeps giving me "survive the wave" and "kill all zombies" objectives. So it makes it to where it's a chore to even play the game. The save feature is also terrible. Like I said before, I can usually make my plays of this game about 30 minutes before I start getting angry again and never wanna finish the game. But I'm stuck playing 2-3 hours anyway just to finish a chapter. But maybe these thoughts will change whenever I unlock infinite ammo on a gun. I understand that survival horror is just that, conserving ammo for when it's needed and feeling like you're gonna run out of supplies but part of the classic 1st game is that there really aren't that many zombies to worry about. And they don't come in waves, and you're able to stock up before the time to use them is needed. Now the good things I can say about the game is the graphics and story. It's cool how everyone's story is weaved in and the cinematics are nice. I also love the UI; I thought it was very creative. All in all, I plan to eventually finish this game and hopefully it will be soon but playing through this game is such a chore. The first two are classic survival horror, 4 felt like Zelda with zombies, and 5, while different, still had an action game charm, but this doesn't feel anything remotely related to any of the above and will forever be the step-child of the series.

Free app of the week this week. I've logged about 3 hours so far and it feels like a pretty good game. Impressively this game has no in app purchases which is nearly impossible to find this day and age, and for just a fairly simple RPG and "kids game," the RPG depth is pretty impressive. The fighting style is similar to some of the Mario RPG games if you'd like a comparison. The characters can wear badges that give different perks and so far, it seems like a fairly decent game length. My only gripe is that it's a bit repetitive. So far I've been having fun, but the battles can get repetitive and can last a lot longer than necessarily wanted. I also passed some spots in some levels that require items I don't yet have to access. To me, this is a bit lame as it seems like one of those games that ups the playing time by making you backtrack, which can get annoying (like Paper Mario: Sticker Star did). At any rate, for just a few bucks, this is a wonderful game, and if you look it up now until the end of the week, you can even get it for free.

Dec 19, 2015
Being a fan of the original games, I had to try this out. It's a good return to form for the franchise as I wasn't a huge fan of Cut the Rope 2 (I felt it was too greedy and repetitive. Challenge level should've been bumped up), but I loved Time Travel, Experiments, and the original game. It's got lots of diversity and the challenge level has been spiked. Seriously there were a few levels I had to use the solution to! Also the art style is gorgeous. Parts of the game could be a rip off as unlocking all the levels requires $30 which is steep since it's already a paid game, but the purchases can be avoided pretty easily if you just naturally progress through the game. All in all, it's not quite as brilliant as the first game but it certainly can live up to it if more is added. It's very diverse like the first game

The Sims 4: Get Together8
Dec 8, 2015
The Sims go more social in The Sims 4: Get Together. Get Together was announced for a November release a few months back but the dev team decided to push it back to get a little more done and how does it fair? The main selling point of this DLC was the whole new "beautiful city of Windenberg" and "clubs". The clubs are a neat little gimmick where you can set up any sim in them (some are invite only requiring you to get to know someone in them beforehand and others are immediate join). The game comes preloaded with a nice choice of clubs to join and if none of those please you or your sim, you can create your own in a very nice, advanced set up system where you can base it off of age, skills, careers, hobbies, etc. Each pre-existing club comes with some people whom you can meet and hang out with and start a web of connections with as well. This whole pack comes with a plethora of new social interactions. And unlike Get to Work, the venues where you meet and hang out are actual venues where you can visit. In Get to Work, the career places were existent but unable to be visited unless at work, if you know what I mean. Now I haven't explored all of the clubs yet, but my sim is in the DJ and Dancing club and I find this extension to be fantastic! My sim took over the club and became the leader and I plan to eventually do the same with some of the others or ones I decide to create. The new text message system makes things more realistic and even with the update, I see the sims being more realistic and sophisticated. They're no longer as robotic as those in Sims 2 and Sims 3. Windenberg, the heavily advertised new community I found was somewhat disappointing. The entertainment area, where a lot of the club hang outs are, is really neat and fun but the residential lots were somewhat disappointing. There are only 2 empty lots and the rest require you to replace existing houses. The architectural style on some of the lots I find can be quite polarizing as they are mainly European styled buildings and with that comes a lot of European styled objects in build mode. I haven't explored the whole city yet but I give that aspect so far a 7/10. I'll have to edit some of it for sure. The maze in the haunted house is quite a neat addition though. And along with that comes a new lot size: 64x64 (and you thought 50x50 was large!). I'm ready to see what others come up with for that on the origin community. Windenberg could've been a bit larger and a little more empty, imo, but I do love the new lot size. The build mode/cas items are great though and there are tons of new items to use. They range in all different directions: European, modern, casual, formal, etc. They're all over the place and exciting. If there was one place that this expansion excelled, it was certainly the number of items for sure. The DJ and Dancing skills added were a nice new addition and your sims can do more than just the Carlton dance thankfully but I see just that aspect as being a free add-on or perhaps even in the base game, but I won't complain about new additions. It's welcome and honestly it is a lot of fun. Now the big question: is it worth it? For me, I say yes. It's quite a hefty price tag, but you know Sims expansions are always and have always been $40 since the beginning of time so that's to be expected. But it depends on what you're looking for. If you want your sims to be more realistic and engaging and have more social cliques and sophistication, then you'll fall in love. If you want more expanded linear gameplay with an agenda, then you'll be disappointed. Overall I'm happy with this expansion and I'm glad I don't feel ripped off as I was afraid I would feel that way. But I give it an 8/10 just from the less than satisfactory neighborhood (especially after all the hype and advertising), but it's still a very welcome addition to a game that is blossoming more and more each day that passes. This would be a definite 10/10 if it were a $20 game pack but it's still worth its $40 price tag if it's what you're looking for with more social and engaging sims.

The Sims 4: Spooky Stuff8
Oct 15, 2015
Best TS4 stuff pack thus far. TS4's expansions and game packs have been decent, but the stuff packs have been extremely lacking so far. Luxury stuff was bad, cool kitchen stuff was abysmal, perfect patio was okay (would've been bad without hot tubs). I can say, though, the Spooky stuff pack was actually worth the $9.99 paid. The amount of content added is actually quite a lot. It's on par with the amount added from Sims 3 Stuff packs that were actually $29.99. There are about 30-35 new build mode items added (more if you count wallpapers and whatnot) and lots of new clothing items added (pretty much costume-related). It also adds a new party choice (Halloween costume party). I have had a lot of fun dressing up my sims and throwing halloween parties and the new items are awesome! Carving pumpkins is a lot of fun and very creative. The only reason I give this an 8 out of 10 is because of its lasting appeal. As of right now I am loving this new pack so far, but I wonder how much use I'll get of it outside of the month of October since everything added is pretty much geared towards Halloween and with the lack of seasons right now, it's also lacking depth, but for what it is it's a welcome stuff pack and actually, for once, TS4 gives us enough content to make me not feel remorseful for giving them $9.99 for a stuff pack.

The Sims 4: Cool Kitchen Stuff2
Aug 19, 2015
2/10 because 2 expensive for what you get. There are only a handful of new items added to this pack, and the majority added are some random posters for the kitchen (although some are cute). There aren't many new hairstyles or clothes (at least for men; haven't checked the women's yet, but I don't really go into extreme detail when making my sims). I'll start off by talking about the good stuff: the ice cream maker. The ice cream maker is pretty neat and if you have a sim at level 10 cooking, he or she can make a plethora of ice cream/gelato flavors. Some of the ice creams (usually higher level ice creams) have some pretty neat temporary effects and it's fun to experiment with them at parties. But honestly that is the only good thing I can say about this pack. Everything else is more or less a disappointment. First off, you cannot keep your ice cream in the freezer or fridge, which is not realistic at all. Doesn't everyone keep ice cream in their freezer? This honestly needs to be fixed in an update or something. When making ice cream, you can only keep it on the counter after taking it out of your sims inventory, and it's basically a countdown until the ice cream **** lack of content is also very disappointing. For something to be considered "Cool KITCHEN Stuff," there isn't much kitchen stuff. They only added ONE new fridge and ONE new oven and ONE new countertop. Honestly, when I think about kitchen, I don't know about you, but I think of fridges, ovens, and countertops. If that's not disappointing enough, the stats on these newly added items are horrendous. They are only about a 5 in food quality and 4 on reliability. There are better fridges and ovens in the BASE GAME. If I pay $10 for a kitchen pack, I'd like to see unbreakable items with high food quality (especially since there are some already included in the base game.. but a nicer selection would be awesome). And if that's not bad enough, the only fridge added is nearly identical in looks to one already given by the base game just with worse stats (and more colors). They also gave us a dishwasher for free in an update just before the DLC was released, but they didn't add any new dishwashers or trash compactors with the new DLC. Now overall, the new items are decent, and the ice cream is fun, but this add on is not worth $10 of your hard-earned dollars. I might've given this a higher rating if it had just been a free update, because that is what this pack ultimately felt like. It's about as bad as the Luxury Party Pack. So far, the only good SP is Perfect Patio Stuff.. TS needs to drastically improve the amount of content in these Stuff Packs.

Five Nights at Freddy's 42

These games are so overrated. I played the first whenever everyone was ranting and raving about it. I never found it scary. I played the second when it came out.. Didn't find it scary. Gave up on this series. Skipped the 3rd one. Then I heard rave things about the 4th and reluctantly played it with one of my friends... Yep.. Same as the first one, and the second one.. And from deductive reasoning, the 3rd one. They're just overrated games that are titled the "scariest game ever made," yet I found more scary things in an M. Night Shymalan movie (and I don't find his movies scary, they're just pretentious.. as are these games).

The Sims 4: Luxury Party Stuff2
Jul 27, 2015
Honestly this is my least favorite stuff pack released for TS4. The main addition are full body outfits. There are a few underwhelming hairstyles and only 12 new items. I think I only used one of the new items (the cheese/chocolate fountain), it was pretty cool. It was $9 but I think I've gotten about $1 of gameplay from this. Hopefully this will be the only bad pack for TS4

The Sims 4: Spa Day8
Jul 27, 2015
Pretty great game pack here for TS4, but maybe not quite as good as Outdoor Retreat, imo. All of the items included are trendy and I do not feel like I wasted any money. The wellness skill seemed like much ado about nothing, but once you stick with it and level it up, the perks are pretty cool. The spa has become a hot spot for weekends for my sims and the clothes are really cool. It seemed a little hipster for the sims, but I really enjoy this game pack. 8/10

The Sims 4: Outdoor Retreat9

Never really understood all the lukewarm responses to this game pack. It's $20 but I got it for $15 on sale. Now I thought this was pretty fun. You get a new world called Granite Falls. You book vacations to it to spend some days either roughing it in the campground or live nicer in a lodge for your time. You plan out how many days and each one shows their rates. Once you have booked a stay, you can then travel to the forest and there are more things to do there like collecting, herbalism skill to improve, fishing, telling ghost stories, roasting weenies. I really have enjoyed this and think the reviews seem too lackluster. Out of all the packs I have at the moment (and I have them all right now), I have gotten the most use out of this one. I honestly would've paid full price for this one. The new build mode items are interesting and I have a nice campground even at my house. The clothing items are awesome and I enjoyed them all. My only complaint is that I would like to change some of the houses on the campground. I think that some people have actually done this but when I placed a new house on one of the lots, it changed the rate in accordance to the building, but I got stuck in a loop. I rebooted the game and tried again and the same thing happened. This pack would be perfect if that could be fixed. Definitely a 9/10 and totally underrated.

HOT TUBS! Obviously that was the main selling point of this stuff pack. I didn't love or hate this pack. I feel like if it had not had the hot tubs, I would've felt like I wasted money, but they are cool and lots of fun to use for house parties. About 50% of the items included are cool and it has my new favorite hairstyle for men with this stuff pack. Glad they lowered them to $9.99 because I would've never paid $30 for this. But there are more items included with this than the Luxury Party Stuff

The Sims 4: Get to Work9
Jun 23, 2015
Great addition to a game that I think gets a lot of flack for no reason. This is an interesting addition to the game and it was definitely needed to make include more depth into the game. This is the expansion that was always missing from The Sims 3. The Sims 2 had something similar (Open for Business), but it didn't include interacting with professional careers. The new careers that are added are interesting. I have a guy who is 5 stages into the doctor career and one that is about 5 into the criminal detective career. It's a neat new mechanism and if you decide that you don't want to go to work with them one day, it doesn't force you to. I think overall that this was a vital inclusion for the series to make people like 4 a little more (although I've loved it the whole time). My only gripe is that it is hard to get through the doctor's day sometimes if he knows all the characters, since "greeting" characters requires you to introduce yourself. It can sometimes do that in addition to making my other goals impossible at the moment, and can result in a bad work day.. I have not seen such oddities with the other jobs though. The new items are great and now I'm just looking forward to the new additions :) However, I am docking 2 points from a 9 to a 7 for the reason of Origin. My sister and I have always loved The Sims and we normally either take turns buying an expansion pack or we split it and then install it on both of our computers.. Well origin puts the code into the first account to use it, so... we could no longer split these games.

Fallout Shelter9

Think Tiny Tower without being a total rip-off. Surprisingly, and I could be wrong, they haven't tried to make me pay for extra coins or anything. It's kinda like Tiny Tower in that you build a shelter, but overall it's so much more. You can get characters to explore the wasteland as others grow up and work in the shelter. It's kinda hard to first get into and can seem overwhelming but it's also very adaptable. I love this game series and it's a fun little addition to get me prepared for Fallout 4

The Sims 20

Why can't we have a console version of the computer Sims? The computer Sims are always superior. You can do whatever you want on the computer version and good around. These console games make you do missions and it's weird and it's totally everything but a Sims game. Doesn't even deserve the title.

The Sims 49

Not sure what all the griping and grumbling is about.. Sure there aren't quite as many things as there was on the other Sims games on The Sims 4, but remember there have only been 2 expansion packs as of now. It's still young in its run. To me, I instantly thought this game was better than Sims 3 (I didn't care for 3 much at all), but it's not quite on par with the original Sims or Sims 2, but subsequent expansions could make this so. The emotions feature is great and very glad they added this feature in the new series. It was something I had missed but could never explain I had missed it. Not sure why anyone is griping about pools because I have a pool at my house. The graphics have improved drastically. The only thing I liked about 3 and what is missing from this game is freely exploring the whole town from the house you are currently at. If they could add this in, it would be great. Excited for extra content apparently being released tomorrow. A new, great looking neighborhood!

Mario Party Advance1
May 11, 2015
I remember getting this back in the day. It was awful. It's not even a Mario Party. Not sure why anyone could give this over a 3 at most. It made no sense. First there is no multiplayer; which, why would you call something a "party" if you're alone. Next, the single player is just awful. You use a life to roll and the "quests" are stupid. The things you do had no reason of being done. The mini games were short and some of the worst in the series. I understand that the GBA had hardware on par with the SNES but you could at least have included a link cable setting. This just kinda felt thrown together in a hurry. It just should've never been made. It's one of those abominations, like ET was during its time.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess10

Decided to do another play through after completing Majora's Mask 3D and I forgot exactly how brilliant this game is. The story is emotional, the art style is perfect, the characters are intriguing. The controls are smooth and comfortable and not to the point of overkill (I'm looking at you, Skyward Sword). After playing through again, I'm convinced that this game, along side of Majora's Mask are my top 2 favorites of the Zelda series. Warning: this game is extremely addictive.
