GHL is a great game if you’re playing it alone. I appreciate all the new ideas but I’m really disappointed that it is no longer a party game. [13/2015, p.62]

I've been playing guitar for 15 years, playing every Guitar Hero at the hardest difficulty and this one is near unplayable. It feels way out of sync, you can't hear the parts you have to play (especialy the leads), half of the songs barely have guitar in them and the "live footage" is so cringe I sometimes feel embarrassed to be playing. Huge fail, don't buy this overpriced sh**.

while the new controller had a lot of potential for fun and fresh gameplay, the potential is completely ruined by a lack of features, and a pay to play business model.

Guitar Hero Live isn't just a remolding of how we think about plastic guitars, but how audiences listen to music.

Guitar Hero Live is exactly what the franchise needed after its five-year hiatus, and I’d go as far to say it’s what the whole genre needed. Although naysayers will lament the lack of more instruments or complain about the non-permanence of extra songs, for many, Live will become the quintessential party game and is already set to be a permanent fixture in my sitting room.

I really loved this game, the new guitar is way cooler than the old model and it works perfectly. The live option from the game got a lot of really good songs, and it is always growing with new songs. I'm also enjoying the new channel idea, where it feels like playing the old MTV clips. the multiplayer functionalities are really cool and make the game even more enjoyable. On my opinion this is worth it and it can guarantee hours of fun.

new button layout may not be some people's liking due to the change but it adds to a more realistic effect matched with awesome new video and guitar hero TV makes one great game

Add in the brilliant new game mechanics that come from the reconfigured guitar controller, and combining our old love of rhythm games with the modern way we consume music, and Guitar Hero Live is the worthwhile reunion of an old favorite that we’ve all been waiting for.

Guitar Hero Live does not reinvent the guitar, but it does bring enough fresh elements to make even the classics feel brand new. The FMV-gigs are both cliche and entertaining, and Guitar Hero TV shows that that Guitar Hero is still relevant in 2015.

The song selection is impressive, the FMV videos are well produced and the GHTV concept is incredibly exciting. While there’s still trepidation due the fact that much of its appeal rests on unproven promises and its currency system is needlessly complicated, the idea of new songs being added on a weekly basis could render Guitar Hero Live into a persistent experience for rhythm and music lovers alike.

There's no kidding that Guitar Hero Live is a very fun game, it just feels like it cares more about the money than it does about the fans.

Guitar Hero Live's reinvented mechanics makes music-driven gameplay fresh and fun again, and while that's a truly massive and meaningful change for the genre as a whole, the campaign's off-putting presentation and GHTV's unpleasant microtransactions all sour the experience built up around that gameplay.

I completely understand how fans of previous Guitar Heroes could be disappointed. I used to love GH3 but this one is honestly incredible. I truly love the live performances and i find its better than the animations from old. Its goofy and over the top on purpose. It makes you feel like more **** hero so to speak. Once you play through the campaign (which I find to be very diverse and fun to play) you have GH TV. Its basically Pandora. Songs and genres change every so often and you get points for playing to buy power ups and such. Some might say, "I can't pick which songs I can play and it ****!" But you already have access to 42 other songs that the campaign introduced. The button layout on the guitar is so fun and challenging I played through the entire campaign in one sitting. It took about 3 hours. Its hard to recommend to certain people, but I love the game and will probably play for many more hours

SummaryGuitar Hero Live mode inserts you onstage, looking out: you get a first-person perspective as a real crowd reacts to the notes you play. Or switch over to GHTV - a playable music video network, where you can play along in real time, discover new music, and challenge friends around the world.
