Five Nights at Freddy's 4

The biggest frights of the ever-expanding series without quite the same unease and variety.

FNaF4 differs from the previous games and that’s good. I had a bit more fun with it but it’s still based on jump scares and that’s the least refined technique of scaring. [10/2015, p.73]

FNAF takes a step back, and relies on sound to scare you. It still works, but now your biggest fear would be going deaf because of its loud scare jumps.

Considering you’ve likely played the previous three games and have now spent around eight hours keeping homicidal animatronics at bay, there’s nothing about this fourth game that begs for you to return. Instead spend the cash on a bag of snacks and some drinks, and watch someone else shriek loudly into a microphone for you.

You'd be better served experiencing Five Nights at Freddy's 4 the way it was obviously intended to be enjoyed. By going on YouTube and watching some twenty-five-year-old, dressed like a fourteen-year-old, scream and cry his way through the game like a seven-year-old.

A new low for the series, Five Nights at Freddy's 4 is a poor effort in almost every respect, an exercise in mediocrity better suited for YouTube than for an actual playthrough.

Great game, i would say the best and scariest fnaf game that there is. You need to watch out if you are scared easily

Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 é o jogo mais diferente da franquia principal, e isso já deixa a experiência bem dividida. Em vez de monitorar câmeras em uma sala de segurança, aqui tudo acontece dentro de um quarto, com o jogador dependendo quase totalmente de som e reação rápida. O maior destaque é a atmosfera. O jogo consegue ser genuinamente mais assustador que os anteriores em vários momentos, justamente por abandonar a segurança da câmera e colocar o perigo “dentro” do espaço pessoal do jogador. O clima é mais psicológico, mais direto e mais desconfortável. A mecânica de ouvir sons para identificar a posição dos animatrônicos é um dos pontos mais interessantes do jogo. Ela exige atenção constante e cria uma tensão muito forte, já que qualquer pequeno erro pode resultar em derrota imediata. Outro ponto forte é como o jogo aposta mais em terror puro do que em gestão de sistemas. Não há tantas ferramentas como antes, então o foco fica totalmente em sobrevivência e reação. Por outro lado, essa mudança também traz problemas. A falta de variedade mecânica pode deixar o jogo repetitivo depois de um tempo, já que a rotina das noites acaba girando em torno de ações muito semelhantes. A dificuldade também é bastante punitiva e, em alguns momentos, pode parecer um pouco inconsistente, principalmente dependendo da precisão dos sons e da resposta do jogador. A história continua sendo contada de forma indireta, com minigames e interpretações, o que mantém o mistério da franquia, mas sem muita clareza dentro da experiência principal. No geral, FNAF 4 é um jogo que aposta muito no terror psicológico e na tensão sonora, e embora nem sempre seja o mais equilibrado da série, ainda consegue entregar uma experiência intensa e marcante. first game in the series to force you to use sound to know where threats are. mechanics are original yet simple, something that hasn't been seen since the first game. the game loses points for being impossible with some bad luck and for taking away cameras.

I honestly don’t know how to judge this series anymore after Scott lost it and started adding random crap. This is a perfect example **** whose story is basically built from fan theories on the fly.

So mediocre it made me no longer an irrational 10 year old fnaf cultist when it came out.
