A franquia ainda ta viva com humor divertido, elenco carismático e com ajuda de um bom roteiro.

Greetings from Lithuania."Scary Movie" (2000) is for me the perfect parody movie. I've watched it many times upon its release and loved it very much. Now I did rewatched it in 2026 on Blu Ray and I kind of liked it even more. 99,5% of jokes do land for me in this movie, and that for me what makes this one the best parody movie ever made. I haven't had this much for in comedies combined of what I've seen in the last 10 years or so. Maybe even more. Overall, "Scary Movie" is as funny and great parody that one can watch and rewatch. It is funny as hell, and clearly creators were big fans of great movies that they spoofed. It will left one in tears. Great movie.

Scary Movie is an excellent film with jokes a plenty and some fourth wall breaks- I laughed ouf loud for pretty much the entire film and furthermore there is a heavy nostalgic factor for fans of the franchise. Scary Movie appeals to fans of horror & comedy.

What's your favourite scary movie? Gotta love a buffoon ghost face lmao. I prefer this over the original scream. It's more fun when ghost face doesn't know what he's doing loooool

If you get offended, that’s your problem. Rewatching 'Scary Movie' after a few years turned out to be a curious experience. The first time I saw it, I thought it was brilliant, but back then a lot of its cinematic references went completely over my head because of my limited film knowledge. I still wouldn’t call myself especially cultured in that sense, although now I can at least appreciate nods like the one to 'The Shining'. Even so, this revisit leaves me with a different feeling than the one I had back then: the laughs don’t come as easily as they used to. Maybe I approached it with a more mature, less “childish” perspective, and watching it that way almost works against the very nature of the film. But one thing hasn’t changed: it’s impossible to disconnect from it. I never check the clock, I never get bored, and I stay completely immersed in its absurd story from beginning to end. If 'Scream' aimed to critique the horror genre from its foundations, 'Scary Movie' simply laughs in its face. It has no interest in analyzing or deconstructing horror with subtlety; its weapon is shameless parody. And what’s interesting is that this humor works without completely betraying the “seriousness” of the film it’s mocking. There’s no need to overthink it: this is pure chaos made for laughs, whether it’s Ghostface tripping over a flower pot or yelling “Wazaaaa” while Shorty answers the phone completely stoned. Its biggest strength is the cast and its characters. Of course, some are more solid than others, but I wouldn’t say there’s a bad one in the bunch. They all bring something, they all have their own comedic value, and within all the absurdity, they’re well built for the kind of movie this is. Anna Faris is the iconic face of the franchise, and it’s hard to separate that innocent, stupid, completely over-the-top personality from the actress herself. In fact, I’ve always struggled to take her seriously in 'May' because of this performance. Marlon Wayans is the best part of the cast for me: the character who makes me laugh the most, the one who brings the most energy, the most playful presence on screen. He may not land every joke perfectly, but he has exactly what I need to make me want to revisit 'Scary Movie'. Shawn Wayans isn’t far behind either. Without this cast, the whole thing probably would have been a complete failure. There’s also real merit in the direction. Making something like this without collapsing into total disaster isn’t easy, but Keenen Ivory Wayans clearly knows what he’s doing here. He blends different styles of humor, references, and absurd situations with a lot of confidence, and what could have ended up as a messy collection of disconnected sketches instead works as a surprisingly cohesive comedy. Everything flows with enough consistency that the film never feels broken or scattered. What truly makes 'Scary Movie' great, though, is its screenplay. There’s no fear of offending, no fear of crossing the line, and no fear of looking bad. There are absolutely no limits. Racist jokes, sexual jokes, tasteless jokes, completely outrageous jokes — all delivered with a freedom that feels almost impossible to imagine in a mainstream comedy today. Its logic is simple: say something outrageous, laugh, and then make the next joke just as bad or even worse. That will naturally turn a lot of people away, but it’s also part of what makes the experience feel so unique. That extreme, shameless, no-filter dark humor is something the franchise gradually lost over time. It’s not a film I absolutely love, but I do recognize that it knows exactly what it wants to be and how to do it. It’s a reckless comedy that fully understands its own tone and dives into it without hesitation. Made to switch your brain off, laugh, and just enjoy the madness. The laughs don’t come as easily for me today, but I completely understand why 'Scary Movie' has earned its place as one of the wildest and most representative comedies of its era.

The stagnant machinery of a misplaced recommendation: A 2.0-star "pathetic" drift through awkward silence.2011(2.0)I watched "To Catch a Virgin Ghost" (Sisily 2km) in 2011, and it remains a "pathetic" 2.0-star record in my archive—a visceral "revelation" that my previous 3.0-star rating was a "stagnant" error of judgment. This experience **** the fourth wall of sibling bonding as I sat my brother down, promising a "vivid" and lighthearted comedy, only to be met with a "raw" and agonizing display of cinematic failure. The narrative rhythm was far from "sensational"; instead, it offered a "stagnant" and mechanical trajectory that left us in a state of absolute "hororong" at its disjointed absurdity. Seeing the "vivid" disappointment on my brother's face provided an emotional payoff of "silent frustration," making the movie's "pathetic" attempts at humor feel even more "stagnant" and embarrassing. The 95% preservation of my memory is dominated by the rhythmic, "raw" awkwardness in that room and the "vivid" but "pathetic" realization that my rating criteria at the time were "stagnant" and unreliable. Unlike the "vivid" soul of "Shaun of the Dead" or the "raw" tension of "Man of Steel," this encounter was a "pathetic" waste of a shared evening, standing only as a "stagnant" monument to 2011's misplaced expectations. It stands in my record now as a corrected 2.0-star artifact—a "stagnant" encounter with a "pathetic" rhythm that failed to leave any "sensational" impact on my psychological archive.

Only slightly problematic in parts, which is more than you can expect from the era. I laughed occasionally.

Ce n'est malheureusement qu'une insulte pour les films dont il s'en inspire. Beaucoup trop de blagues gênantes et sexualisées , c'est en fait un film porno déguisé en comédie.

Overall a pretty cheesy and funny movie. There are a lot of jokes about. While funny, the story does get a little annoying, and it is a little too inappropriate for my taste, I can see others still loving it, but it is not really my speed. Nevertheless, I think the movie could go for a bit more PG, I would love this movie more, but it is just a little too R-Rated for the type of comedy it has

Great movie, I don't know, it's very funny, it has many references that if you understand them, it's very funny. It's novel for that time, parodying other movies. One of my favorites of the genre.

After some time watching it, I got pissed because the timing around the jokes is terrible. Everything is a joke, and the approach is as dumb as possible. 90% of the punchlines are extremely predictable - which becomes tiring - and the subversion is ineffective since there aren't elements to compare and make a link to reality. It just feels pointless. A total waste of time.

Sometimes it's funny, sometimes you wonder who forced you to watch it. Because Scary Movie is nothing more than an attempt to make comedy.

Great movie and hilarious. My favorite out of the series. Scary Movie makes fun of Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer, with some of The Sixth Sense, The Matrix, and The Usual Suspects.

Scary Movie. What is your favorite parody movie? The Wayans brothers have made a truly iconic piece. They collected all the best that was in the movie Scream and added to it a tone of humor and jokes for the toilet. After this movie (Scary Movie) it will be very difficult to take Ghostface seriously after hanging out with Shorty Meeks. And the most and most important thing is not to repeat my mistake. Watch Scary Movie first, and then watch Scream even after many years. Because there will be a small spoiler, everything that happens in the "Scary Movie" almost one to one copies his terrible brother Scream.

For me, really successful. I laughed every now and then. Mostly Shorty, Doofy and Scream pulled it for me. It went by awfully fast because it's a shorter movie, but I still really enjoyed it, so soon it was over. For me, total satisfaction and a good comedy that pokes fun at horror movies and it worked for me.

This adolescent film (one of the most abominable cinematographic genres) was made to mock some well-known horror films. The clearest victim was Wes Craven's film "Scream", but if we pay attention we will see scenes that satirize other films such as "I Know What You Did Last Summer", "Blair Witch Project" or "Sixth Sense". Interestingly (or perhaps not so much), the working title of "Scream" was "Scary Movie" and the studio responsible for the two films is the same: Dimension Films. Talking about the plot here would be not only redundant, but it seems to me a mistake: by mentioning the most spoofed films here, I think I have already left enough clues about the plot. Whoever wants to know more, please go see the film. The film is a satire, it was made to entertain, and it is clearly aimed at young audiences, so it is better not to be expecting something complex or a dramatic show. This is not a movie designed to win Oscars or anything like that. It is a film to make people laugh, for the easy laugh of teenagers who don't think much, love eschatological humor or suffer from a serious obsession with everything related to sexuality. But that does not mean that it is a bad or abominable film, as many teen films really are. In fact, it turned out to be a pleasant film, one that you can't revisit often or make us laugh out loud (although it varies from one person to another) but it will put some smiles in the most circumspect audiences. For me, the film has both good and bad things: I don't like such an immoral humor, but it is impossible not to laugh at some situations. Parodying horror films also helps, although the choice of these films is debatable. The cast is led by Anna Faris, and she does a satisfying job, just as Regina Hall and Jon Abrahams, Marlon Wayans and Shawn Wayans are decent enough, but do not exceed the average. Carmen Electra does not work well as an actress, she appears only to show her generous cleavage whenever necessary, and Shannon Elizabeth is not much better than her. But the one who really does badly in this film is Dave Sheridan, thanks to the horrible and offensive character that happened to him. There is a limit between being politically incorrect and being offensive, and the character Duffy overcomes that limit by the insulting way in which he portrays a mentally **** man. And it's not even worth mentioning the fact that this character is annoying and not funny at all.

Scary Movie is at first glance a terrible parody film. But first, at that time, subsequent films were not yet known. And second, it 's so bad here, it 's even good. Yeah, it 's a crack, but a couple of funny moments are still there. You can look once.

The movie we thought would revitalize the spoof movie genre. We were so wrong. For itself it is a good spoof movie but also the reason many awful spoof movies were created. Each sequel got worse and worse. With 5 movies this is an achievement that I don't think I can archive willingly (Maybe I am exaggerating because I am incompetent in movie making, but not as much as it should be). But back to this movie: It is a parody of different horror movies, mainly Scream with side jokes for Blair Witch Project, Sixth Sense, American Pie, Matrix and more. The humor / jokes in the movie work really well and play with the stupidity, stereotypes and tropes of Horror Movies. For me >90% of all jokes are funny. The Actors are well chosen for their roles and deliver the stereotypes and their jokes very well. I don't think I should rate the story for itself in a spoof movie that can completely tracked to another movie. I will rate the humor and creativity instead which is a win for this movie. Overall a movie worth watching but not in the Top 10 for spoof movies. Special warning! Like I said each sequel got worse. Stay away as far as possible from the Sequels especially from 4 and 5.

As unfunny as it is trashy. You forget it's a parody of a horror movie. Get a barf bag and the sensibilities of a 12 year old.

Scary Movie 3: 6/10.
Scary Movie 4: 4/10.

Scary Movie is a series of American comedy films created by Keenan Ivory Wayans with his younger brothers, Shawn Wayans and Marlon Wayans, that mainly specialize in parodying horror films, which have collectively grossed over $895 million at the box-office worldwide. The two main recurring actors of the first four installments were Anna Faris and Regina Hall as Cindy Campbell and Brenda Meeks, joined by new or recurring actors and characters.

Spoofs and satires can be hilarious if made right, but nowadays the genre consists of cheaply made, unfunny movies like this one. This genre needs to be turned in the right direction for once!

Scary Movie (2000) is the first film in the "Scary Movie" parody series that revolves around making fun of what was originally just horror movies, but eventually by the time of the 3rd part, features other movies that were not horror. Scary Movie is a very memorable film to me, and really showed what a true spoof is. To me, this film is up there with Airplane! and Spaceballs. The film has non stop humor much like Naked Gun, while having characters that you actually care about and have some development. Directed and written by the Wayans brothers, who also act as main characters in the movie, this film received an R rating, as did the second film. However, 3-5 were directed by different people and received the PG-13 rating, giving them less freedom. Scary Movie was actually a box office hit, making a few hundred million dollars. Acting isn't too bad in this film, and you are constantly entertained. As a bonus, the main antagonist, Ghostface, taken from the popular 90's horror franchise Scream, has some very funny scenes where he interacts with other minor characters. All in all, this is a great spoof movie with an actual story, that is entertaining with decent cinematography and puns. Overall, I give thus film a 8/10.

Most of the jokes are stupid and much like the movies of Aaron Seltzer and Jason Friedberg But the jokes which work are very funny especially the one's with the masked killer who is hilarious. Scary Movie may not have a huge fan club and a cult following but it is in places hysterical. Shame about the sequels eh.
