TMNT: Splintered Fate is not only a finely crafted roguelike, it's also one of the best takes on the franchise in recent memory and an instant contender for its best video game.

The developers of the new TMNT games took a lot of ideas from the creators of the indie hit Hades and come up with a really fun game with great co-op, but lacking in original ideas.

This has always been my favourite game to play at all time. When Alopex appeared as a playable character in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate, I decided to buy the game with her in it on Steam, Xbox One and Switch. I always became a fan of her game appearances ever since I saw a trailer and an advertising image of her joining the Turtles, Casey Jones and Metalhead on an adventure to save Splinter. From that day, she has always been my favourite gaming character and I would like to see her as a playable character in more games inside and outside the series. I would also like to look as never before told stories on how the Turtles helped Casey fix his car, helped Metalhead fight past enemies to undo a mistake caused on New York City and helped Alopex stand against her self-doubt and former sister-in-arms Karai before receiving a polar bear netsuke in their last battle. I would recommend the game to every player who enjoy the multimedia and the appearance of Alopex in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Legends and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate which would soon bring up crossovers, spin-offs and sequels based on these games in the future. A great game to always play again for future generations to come.

I haven't played this game, but Metacritic has a problem where you can accidentally click on a rating and it doesn't even need confirmation. And you can't even delete the rating.

Switch is an ideal platform for a concept like this one: simple dynamics and graphics, but a very effective gameplay that will keep you coming back for more.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate is not exactly the most original roguelite that we can find, but it is a very entertaining title that manages to make us have a good time as long as we like the license and the genre, especially if we have friends to enjoy it in company, having here its main attraction, something to which we must add well-executed combats and balanced and thoughtfully designed progression systems. Yes, it is not free from a series of problems that prevent it from achieving greatness, such as the lack of variety of rooms, enemies and events that it boasts or the inexplicable absence of matchmaking for its online mode, but if its defects do not They represent a great nuisance and you are passionate about Ninja Turtles, here you have a purchase option to take into account.

TMNT: Splintered Fate is a great action roguelike with cooperative elements, especially remarkable in terms of gameplay, although its technical aspect is not at the same level.

With a gameplay loop that effortlessly integrates the heroes in a half-shell into the world of roguelikes, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate is a fun and approachable 'Hades-like' that's best played with pals. However, despite the power of the IP and a co-op addition, it doesn't pack enough of a punch to avoid unfavourable comparisons to Supergiant's classic and constantly feels like it's on the back foot because of it. There is fun to be had here, but those who have spent time in the Underworld will find it hard to shake the feeling that this central loop has been done much better elsewhere.

Splintered Fate transparently aims to munch your time. All of its combat and replayability ideas give the appearance of a sturdy shell, yet the cracks in its execution undermine what is otherwise a lovingly crafted representation of the TMNT.

My husband and I love playing this together, it’s a perfect mixture of nostalgia, coop adventure, and lower commitment rogue-light game structure. The game is well balanced enough that a highly skilled player can carry a lower skill player through the game, and it doesn’t feel frustrating to either player. Graphics are beautiful and controls are responsive, which makes the gameplay more pleasant for somebody like me who is not fantastic on controllers. I’m really happy to have found a game that I can enjoy together with multiple people—it’s a fun party game but also great for more serious gamers. Such an innovative AAA game!

Not a great game. Variety is poor making things extremely repetitive, each time you get sent back to the hideout you have to start the entire run again which is just a cardinal sin for a rogue-like experience with poor variety, pickups are also boring because whenever possible you are going to opt for scrap or coins to upgradeheal yourself, some enemies are just damage sponges too requiring no change in tactic at all they are just more boring to wipe out by virtue of them taking longer to kill. This game might have been fun if its default game mode were arcade-like (able to start at the beginning of each chapter and have a chapter select when you die and get returned to the hideout) with the existing light RPG elements, but as Splintered Fate stands? Well let's just say there's a reason why it's been on sale for £2.50 digitally on the Nintendo eshop.

Solid premise & great controls marred by a terrible network code/latency. With two people that both have in excess of 300mbs of internet (both down & up) we can't maintain a connection that allows us to dodge attacks reliably. In singleplayer? Easily achievable. Multiplayer? Impossible.
