Metroid Prime 4: Beyond0
Jan 10, 2026
I wanted to like this so much, believe me. I thought it would at least be better than Other M. NOPE. First off: there is not a single actual Metroid in this game. No, really. They're just weakpoints on the first boss and then they don't even bother to SHOW you them possessing creatures or anything. Other bosses have the same weakpoints, but is that what a "Metroid" is now? OMG the story is so generic and bland. The NPCs? Didn't mind them much at first, but they make this game feel like: not Metroid. Honestly STOP shoving these guys in Metroid games. SOME of the levels GENUINELY feel like OG Metroid Prime. Except the last one. It's utter garbage. Just a corridor gauntlet, completely uninteresting. ALL of the bosses have this stupid gimmick of you having to WAIT for some special attack that MAYBE you can counter and then open them up for true damage. It just wastes your time. Like everything else in this game wastes your time. You already know about the Green Crystal harvest. I 100% it in 16 hours despite the game forcing me to go back and forth between levels through the desert. In fact, I am stopping my final boss fight to write this review because its design is so UTTERLY atrocious. You have special weapons that are pretty much useless against it. Lock-on is disabled FOR THE MOST IMPORTANT PARTS YOU NEED TO HIT ON THE BOSS. Suddenly it has giant tentacles(yeah, great design) like some Vecna ripoff and you need to shoot just the ends of them. Oh, but only when the eyes are open. OH BUT DID I MENTION YOU CAN'T LOCK ON TO THEM AT ALL AND THEY'RE LIKE 1/2 a mile away from the boss' tiny main body you're locked onto? UTTER **** DESIGN. Oh and you have 6 NPCs to babysit during the fight as well. GOOD LUCK WITH THAT. They keep dying like fkng mrns and just stand in the way of nuke attacks. AND AT THE VERY END, where I took the time to write this review: it just starts spamming a certain attack that you genuinely don't know how to counter. I tried everything. Oh and the boss is invincible during this attack too. Oh and it **** up all your attacks. Power Bombs? Super Missiles? NOPE NOTHING WORKS. FK THIS SHT This isn't Metroid.

I'm leaving my review here because you NEVER fixed the trebuchet infinite loading screen, but had the AUDACITY to package the game with all DLCs and sell it! You know FULL well plenty of players were going to play From the Ashes and permanently break their game, only to WASTE A HUNDRED HOURS OF THEIR LIVES AND NOT BE ABLE TO SEE THE END OF THE STORY. YOU EVEN PUT YOUR SITE IN READ ONLY MODE. Your business model makes me SICK TO MY STOMACH!

Fully plat'd the game, all endings but the last one I'm currently playing through a 4th time. As you can tell, I really like this remake. The most important thing is that Bloober team understand what Silent Hill is at its very core. The atmosphere here, the FEELING it gives you surpasses the original, in my humble opinion. The voices are mostly ok. Maria is slightly below what I was expecting(only slightly), but James is WAAAAY better in this adaptation and that's what really sold it to me.

Stellar Blade9
Apr 29, 2024
A censored gem. I'm currently playing 1.000 from disc, after great efforts to block Sony's attempts to update the game no matter what. It is GLORIOUS. The more Sony tries to push patch 1.002 of Stellar Blade down my throat, the more I am curios to see what's in 1.000 on the disc. First of all, they're very sneaky about it. Insert the disc while online and it appears to be copying from the disc. It isn't, it's actually downloading the entire game version 1.002. I checked the version midway through installation. All auto-updates are turned off. Install the game in offline, then turn on internet and guess what? Game wont start until you update. Hmmm, very interesting. Guess the console will have to be completely offline then. It supposedly works if you install and play it completely offline. Amazing Sony, amazing. You allow full on nudity and all manners of perversion in Baldur's Gate 3, yet for some reason Stellar Blade is not acceptable? Lady Dimitrescu's cleavage is fine, but here it's not? STOP IT.

This game is literal trash in a year where we have games like Tears of the Kingdom. There is NO exploration, it's just a fast travel simulator designed to keep you in the game AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. You WALK everywhere and every world has the objective 1km away. It is an utter scam. Oh and walking around cities, you come across Lizzos 1/3 of the time. The game is ATROCIOUSLY progressive, it's genuinely painful to look at.

Remnant II3
Aug 4, 2023
I'm taking massive points off this due to the progressive themes in the game which I am sick to death of seeing in every dmn game from western developers: - The very first character roll is "diverse" when choosing a character - The first NPC you see is "diverse" female girlboss - The first male NPC you see is a submissive weakling - The VERY FIRST journal entry I found was some stupid socialist fable about two animals stuck on a raft in the ocean. The large one has a big loaf of bread and needs to keep its strength up, so it gives the tiny(really tiny) one just a bit of the bread each day. 3 days later and they reach land, but the tiny one dies. SO FKNG WHAT? Who writes this progressive diarrhea? - I didn't understand a single thing that was going on during the intro, except that there were 2 girlbosses doing stuff. Gameplay is clunky as hell. I can't remap the run button to circle, there aren't even any alternative button bindings. There's not even an option to toggle auto-aim or stronger auto-aim. It's like a direct PC port with minimum effort. DO NOT waste your money on the Deluxe. The items and gear you get are AN ABSOLUTE JOKE.

I was playing the game, having fun blasting with Necro level 100, killed Uber Lillith. Then I decided I would try Sorcerer as well, having a blast, reached level 75. Then the patch for Season 1 hit. Hundreds of hours of min-maxed gear turned to garbage in an instant for both my characters. It used to feel "fun". Blizzard HATES fun. Now I do 2 Nightmare Dungeons, 4 levels higher than what I am and can't even get ONE SINGLE PARAGON POINT. The XP nerf is ridiculous. Was planning to do all classes in Eternal. Now I want my 60 bucks back.

Sublime. That's the word I'd use to describe this game. Other words: powerful, emotional, fun. The gameplay is a massive improvement over the previous one and adds a lot of quality of life stuff: - Timed puzzles are drastically reduced - Fights "feel" smoother, I didn't have nearly as many problems with enemies off screen - Boss battles are tough, brutal, but doable - The ultimate armor is really fun to use and makes you feel like the god, of war, that you are As for the story, wooo-heee can I not talk specifics. I'll just say that few games have writing this good, this impactful. The creators really did their homework on Norse mythology and it shows that they wanted to make a game that FEELS worthy of being set in that mythos. It was everything I hoped it would be and more.

First screen in the game the developers apologize for Lovecraft's "problematic" views. I've actually read Lovecraft and there is literally nothing "problematic" in his works. I'm sick of wke developers making money off my favorite horror author while insulting him and his legacy. I swear, the way these people talk you'd think Lovecraft had slaves in the basement which he whipped every day while wearing a klan mask. Developers, SHUT THE FK UP. As if that weren't enough, the game DOESN'T take place in late 19th century, early 20th century, AS YOU WOULD EXPECT FROM A LOVECRAFT GAME. The developers felt the need to "modernize" it with cringe inserted current day stuff like internet, phones, etc. It's done extremely poorly. A Lovecraft game should NOT feel like it was written by Taika Waititi on crack. Tone is everything. Developers are sitting on a goldmine with Lovecraft, yet the only ones making games are the ones who hate Lovecraft. Read the story instead.

Who wants to play a game where the goal is to pay off student loans and tear down capitalism? I'm sure that appealing to people who our loud on Twitter, but don't actually buy anything will be a winning strategy for Volition. Also the bugs. OMG the bugs! Maybe if Volition had spent less time figuring out how to make it WOKE, they would have found the time to make ACTUALLY TEST IT. Also the game is influenced by Anita Sarkeesian. WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD YOU EVER BE INFLUENCED BY THAT TOXIC PIECE OF TRASH is completely beyond me. Game developers forgot that they should make something people WANT to buy. So the new Fallout Boy pack really mixes things up for Beat Saber with some new arc moves whichthat are soooooooooooooo satisfying to pull off. On some cubes an arc will appear connecting it to the next one and you have to follow it around with your saber. Music's great as well. Nice to see fresh content coming out on a regular basis, even new concepts on how to play. I'm more of a "wrist" player because the PS4 tracking camera is barely functional and this new pack makes you perform wide arcing motions. Again, feels just so good to do.

The more I played, the more it devolved into pandering, progressive woke nonsense. Every checkbox is ticked here and shoved in your face: - oppressed illegal immigrants that did nothing wrong? check - rich individuals who wont share their wealth with the poor? check - charitable individuals redistributing the rich one's wealth to the poor? multiple check - secret **** relationship heavy handedly shoved as an afterthought you discover from a photo and never mentioned again? check - women's rights movement? check The game also clearly bashes you over the head with what the creators think is the correct moral decision(the PROGRESSIVE one) in each instance. You're given stupid choices like: expose a clearly evil person part of a dark cult by poisoning the food they distribute to the poor in order to gain members or simply leaving her alone. I mean, seriously, what the actual F? Oh and the gameplay is pretty clunky and just annoying. You run out of ammo so damn fast then have to scrounge for more. It's not like you can AVOID monsters, most of the time you do have to fight them and they take so many hits to go down. What's the point of giving the player supposedly better and better weapons if those don't 1-shot weaker enemies? 4-5 shotgun blasts to take down a giant, same for rifle ****? I only gave this a chance because it really did start out very promising and had SOME elements from H.P. Lovecraft done well. I should have suspected the level of wokeness when the game went exclusive to Epic for so long. Don't play this, play Eternal Darkness, a perfect adaptation of H.P. Lovecraft themes. Oh how I wish they would just make a remaster of that instead.

Cyberpunk 20779
Dec 31, 2020
I finished Cyberpunk 2077, what a ride. Not since Deus Ex Human Revolution has a PC game's story pulled me in and want to explore all the different endings. My personal favorite is Panam's for sheer satisfaction and narrative pay-off. That's not to say Johnny's wasn't a complete emotional gut punch that had me tearing up. I did all the character missions. All of them were deeply interesting. I never knew what I was getting into and the game always surprised me. For that reason, when you reach the endings, everything you've done until then feels EARNED. V wasn't a likeable character at first for me, neither was Johnny. It was over the course of many missions and interactions that I ended up liking both characters. A lot. Practically every character is deeply human, with flaws, dreams and hopes. Your friends and allies are well written, but of course the cake goes to V and Johnny. There is also excellent directing at times. In shallow games, the spectacle is flashy and empty, here's it's used in the context of the narrative perfectly. Again, it feels earned. There were quite a few moments where I was like "holy crap, we're really going to do this?". Also there were moments of sheer beauty and emotion that rival Death Stranding's ending beach sequence. For these reasons, this game's emotional payoff ranks among my favorite story based games of all time.

It improves upon the base game in every way. No longer is endgame gear like health regen prone to sheer randomness, now you can focus on exactly what you want. While it does take a very long time to get, at least it's not repeating the same fight(s) hundreds of times praying for a hero streamstone for your weapon to drop. Also Fatalis. Fighting Fatalis, triggering the Dragonator at 3/4 of it's HP, then hearing the Monster Hunter World theme play throughout the rest of the fight, as you and 3 other players try to take it down, is one of the most epic gaming experiences known to man.
