Somehow, this irreverent hilarity and overwhelming brutality is a match made in heaven. Medieval warfare is terrifying, but it’s also inherently absurd. Bring us more of it.

As is, Chivalry 2 features an immersive Team Objective mode that highlights all the best parts of this online multiplayer. The other two modes are okay in moderation and require you to do more button mashing than the precise motions you thought the game wanted you to perform all along. If you can get past some of its blander parts and focus on the joys of mastering swordplay, Chivalry 2 can be a lot of fun despite its weak spots.

The game is fine and quite funny, but completely ruined by cheaters who have near-total control over it. Torn Banner has abandoned the game without fixing the cheating issue, and servers are overrun with them. Matches are often ruined by cheaters who DDoS servers, kick players without any notification, use super speed and one-shot kills, and are even capable of deleting players’ weapons and deranking players.Trolls run rampant both on Discord and in Steam discussions, and if you mention the name of a cheater in-game, you can get permanently banned from both the official Discord—without even a warning—and also from Steam discussions. For example, I was permanently banned from the Steam discussions after I ironically said, “Oh, ban me, I mentioned the name of the cheater—ban me.”Long story short, the moderators of this community are snarky, “super-woke,” overly sensitive people with an arrogance complex. However, in-game you can say anything you like without consequence. The chats in public lobbies are filled with profanity, racism, flat-earther claims, alt-right and communist political discussions, etc. Because of all that, I, Ybrva, give Torn Banner’s Chivalry 2 a 0 score on Metacritic.

Chivalry 2 offers up some exciting, large-scale battles, and a variety of melee weapons at the ready. The balance is almost there, with archers perhaps being too powerful due to their generous aiming. The automatic team balancing system does remove some of the pressure of winning or losing, which can be a net positive. So, unleash a battle cry and join the fray!

Chivalry 2 is a medieval battle simulator that does its job very well, catapulting us onto the field along with sixty-three other players to give life to large-scale clashes that immediately turn out to be chaotic, spectacular and very engaging.

Chivalry 2 is a rambunctious, bloody, and slapstick multiplayer action game that is perhaps a little bit chaotic for its own good. With a deep combat system that doesn’t get a proper showing due to a lack of a duelling mode, and a proliferation of archers who sap a lot of the fun out of the game’s messy brawls, Chivalry 2 is a hair away from being great. Whether it stands the test of time will depend on how much attention Torn Banner gives it over time.

Im giving this a 10/10, if you're a fun of swordplay and slashing combat, this is better than 4k porn. You get a ton of maps, classes, weapons, battlecries, etc. I think though, there should be a first-person only mode, at least once a week, since playing in 3rd person gives you a crazy advantage. Also it's to easy to be set on fire and the trap damage is a bit excessive and less ballistas would be welcome. Other than that I will just let the devs surprise us, since they know what they're doing, making the game better with each passing update.

Melee combat oriented first person multiplayer games are extremely rare, and this is a prime example of how not to execute it. The combat is very fleshed out and complex, but it's also not that satisfying as every encounter devolves into poke & block until you get spam ganked by 2 other players. There isn't much else to do apart from decapitating enemy players, which is not a bad thing, but when you really are getting curb stomped by the enemy team, it get's very annoying.

performance issues. no team balancing, causes one team to lose by far. combat and overall gameplay is buggy and feels not finished(after 2 years of release btw). no chat of any kind if you didnt purchase the game from epic or steam(xbox users and console players cant chat). the only good thing about this game is how it looks and chopping people's head off(only if the game feels like it).
