Pac-Man World 2: Re-PAC
It’s nice to see Pac-Man back in the spotlight, but beneath the fresh coat of paint and new levels lies an old PlayStation 2–era game that even the best remaster couldn’t fully modernize.
Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac on Xbox Series X is not a flawless remake—but it’s a surprisingly heartwarming one. It enhances visuals, smooths out rough edges in control, and layers in replay value without losing the core DNA of the original.

A nostaglic Pac-Man remake that adds modern graphics, new quality of life elements, while keeping the humor and gameplay of the original alive.

PAC-MAN World 2 RE-PAC, is probably my favorite game besides Donkey Kong Bananza to come from 2025! I will admit I’m a big PAC-FAN, so there is some Bias admittedly but as someone who just recently played the Original on the Nintendo Gamecube I can really see the improvements. While it’s the most controversial part I really adore the charm from the Voice acting! Martin T. Sherman really gave it his all as PAC-MAN and solidified in my opinion him being the best Voice Actor for PAC-MAN! Everyone else was stellar as well especially PAC-PROFESSER, or SPOOKY… and a certain other one as well! The gameplay is fun, the achievements and awards are worth it, and the music is just as great as ever! Please consider playing this if you Ether loved the original, or just love 3D Platformers!

Very underwhelming remake of an adventurous classic. Clunky new controls are disappointing considering how much time has passed since the original. Many level redesigns that are signicantly worse than original. Some worlds have new level redesigns that are exceptions, good ost and great price.

I have to admire Bandai Namco’s efforts to preserve their history. Remaking their old titles and exposing them to a new generation is much more respectable than making a classics collection that would likely be ignored at launch and quickly lost to obscurity. This allows people like me who never played the original entry to try it out for myself, and learn quickly why (unlike rivals like Mario & Sonic), 3D PAC-MAN never took off. I want to be very clear, PAC-MAN World 2 Re-PAC is not a bad game by any means. It has colorful stages, catchy music, and unique boss battles. All the makings of a solid platformer are here, but that’s about all there is. Like the fist game, you bounce on enemies and move forward until you reach the end of a linear stage. There are some collectables to find, but they aren’t particularly fun to look for, and you can try to complete the challenges of each stage if you’re looking to sink more time into your sessions. Unlike other games of the era there isn’t much exploration to be found or fun hidden secrets, and often I found myself just wanting to be done with a stage as opposed to finding more ways to play it. There isn’t a lot here you can’t find from other platformers, even compared to others from its time. The difficulty spikes about halfway through the game which also hinders the experience, and when the credits rolled, I had no interest in doing any of the more challenging post game. I now understand why these games never made waves during their initial release, because they really didn’t do anything the competition wasn’t doing better. The PAC-MAN World games probably could have been apart of a budget collection, but again, I’ll give credit on the preservation effort, down to maintaining it as a product of its time.

Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac takes a retrospective look at the qualities of the famous yellow hero in a 3D platformer that proves to be ahead of its time. As a remake, it meets all the expectations of a modern update and goes even further: it adds more content and gives a beautiful polish to everything that worked in the already charming original title, without losing its essence.

This remaster feels right at home in 2025, offering a charming and colourful 3D platforming adventure that's every bit as enjoyable as something made today. With plenty of collectibles and numerous reasons to go back and replay, Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac is well worth jumping into, whether you're a Pac-Man fan or a lover of 3D platformers.

Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac is a simple and fun platformer. With accessible gameplay, this is a fairly faithful remake that significantly revamped the original's graphics. Despite offering many collectibles and challenges, the campaign is relatively short.

In conclusion, we can say that Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac is a successful title that deserves to be re-released on the market, not only to encourage new generations to rediscover the iconic character of Pac-Man, but also to entertain long-time fans with a product that demonstrates a certain level of quality. It may not be the best platform game you'll play in the coming years, but as a re-release of an old classic, it's a remarkable achievement. What's more, Pac-Man's return to the screen is always welcome. The competitive price will facilitate sales, and we are sure to see it offered for free with various subscriptions on the market in the coming years. Namco Bandai has created a product that guarantees hours of quality entertainment for gamers of all kinds.

After the remake of the first Pac-Man World, it was reasonable to assume that Bandai Namco would continue the nostalgia drive, and the forty-fifth anniversary of Pac-Man was the perfect time to re-release the second installment in the series to attract as much attention as possible. There's no denying that a certain amount of effort went into Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac, which not only revamped the game's technical features but also improved its controls, even offering some previously unseen extra content that proves useful in increasing the adventure's overall longevity. The problem is that the original game wasn't exactly the most engaging 3D platformer on the market when it was released in 2002, and the fact that this remake remains as faithful as possible to the original isn't the best business card considering 23 years have passed since then. Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac is a nostalgic journey designed for Pac-Man fans, but it doesn't pretend to match the quality of the best modern platformers out there.

Pac-Man World 2: Re-Pac takes its original counterpart and brings it into the modern day, but platforming has evolved a lot since then, and its inconsistent difficulty, tedious boss-fights and lack of refinement mean this one is really for fans of the original.

The game adopts a 3D sandbox-style level design, emphasizing platforming, exploration, and puzzle-solving. Players control Pac-Man as he navigates 3D environments, utilizing abilities such as dashing, ground-pounding (which, when executed from a great height, becomes a super ground-pound that deals damage), spin kicks, and more (giving off strong Super Mario vibes). He can also hover mid-air and throw collected "pellets" to attack enemies. Overall, the character offers high mobility.Players can explore various themed worlds, such as forests, snow-capped mountains, and oceans, each featuring unique interactive elements like ice-skating and diving. scattered throughout the worlds are collectibles like fruits and coins to gather. Upon completing a level, players receive a three-star challenge rating, which can unlock costumes and encourage **** remaster preserves the essence of the original while enhancing the graphics, refining the controls, and adding difficulty adjustment options (including a Classic Adventure mode and a Fairy mode where players take no damage and cannot get a Game Over). It also addresses the original's fixed camera angles and introduces modern quality-of-life features, such as a landing indicator. Rather than being a simple visual upgrade, this version improves on nearly all of the original's major shortcomings—from controls to difficulty—making it a thoughtfully crafted remake. It is well-suited for fans of the classic Pac-Man games and players who enjoy lighthearted, cartoon-style 3D platformers.
