The best WWE game in a decade, with a wealth of modes and recognisable wrestlers. Only the dubious MyFaction stands in the way of a higher score. [Issue#27, p.88]

Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse is a good remaster. It can give you a dozen hours of a solid thriller about a terrible disease, scary rituals and haunted houses.

This sense of gradually increasing paranoia, along with a story that only becomes more metaphysically unhinged as it goes along, makes for a title that ultimately rewards patience and those players who are willing to slip into its atmospheric world like they would a warm, spooky bath. That said, I think many players will probably give up on Mask of the Lunar Eclipse after they’ve been asked to photograph another slow-walking ghost for the billionth time, but if they stick with it they’ll be rewarded with a survival horror experience unlike any other.

Spooky. With a ton of very spooky ghosts! OWWWW. How scary! Good for Japanese horror!

Good for the time! One of my favorite little horror games! Great series! Not as good as as 2 though

The only real problem that I have with this game is that the controls are really bad and take a lot of time to get used to, and that's about it. The story, the characters and the atmosphere are really good, while the combat and the upgrade system are just okay. Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse doesn't rival its predecessors, but it is a damn good game.

Fatal Frame: Mask of Lunar Eclipse is a game that needs some technical tweaks in the gameplay, but overall it delivers a good story, beautiful graphics and an atmosphere of tension that I haven't felt since Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly. What Maiden of Black Water failed to bring in its return to Sony consoles, this title did.

Despite generational gameplay flaws, like awkward camera controls in areas and slower pacing, Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse is a worthy remaster and offers fun value to any survival-horror fan.

It may not be perfect, but the localization of Fatal Frame: Mask of The Lunar Eclipse polishes the original product in ways that only benefit the package. Some things can't be easily improved, like stiff main characters or combat fundamentals, but this is a solid effort to bring this game stateside. Horror fans will have a great time here, but it might not be enough for everyone to jump into.

Mask of the Lunar Eclipse is a good game for horror fans, but as a remaster there are some noticeable shortcomings.

FATAL FRAME: Mask Of The Lunar Eclipse sports a new paint job that could still use a few more coats in some areas, but nevertheless offers an interesting horror mystery. However, even with the upgrades, the pain points of past entries are still present, and is not aided by a non-linear narrative that may not be enough to entice everyone to smile for the camera.

If you’re looking for a nostalgic J-horror experience, and you’re prepared to put in the effort and work with the control scheme, Mask of the Lunar Eclipse is an enjoyable, highly atmospheric adventure, with many brilliant moments of fear and dread. The spirits are wonderfully designed, and spotting a black-eyed ghost child lurking behind you, or in the corner of a room, never fails to send a shiver down the spine. For those of us who believe the Project Zero series should be as revered as Resident Evil and Silent Hill, it has been a pleasure to step, once again, into its chamber of horrors, with just a camera to protect you and the remnants of an ancient ghost story ready to be exhumed.

Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar is a remaster that does an excellent job supporting its great features but is severely held back by its several dated elements.

Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse is an amazing horror game that I can't recommend enough. The story is full of mystery and suspense, and the graphics are incredibly detailed and atmospheric. You play as one of three protagonists, each with their own unique abilities, as you explore the eerie and dangerous environment of a cursed Japanese village. The game features haunting music and sound effects, as well as incredibly disturbing monster designs. Combat is intense and requires strategy, as you must use your Camera Obscura to capture the souls of the malevolent spirits that lurk in the shadows. The puzzles are also challenging, but rewarding when solved. Overall, Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse is an unforgettable horror experience that I highly recommend to anyone looking for a good scare.

Fatal Frame main saga is now complete on PlayStation after almost 15 years! Mask of the Lunar Eclipse is a wonderful experience for any lover of the J-Horror that deserves it's place as part of one of the best video game horror saga of all time. Entertaining story and beautiful art that take you deep in it's scary atmosphere. Even though that it's a game released originally on 2008 for Wii, this is a must at anytime

Good- Engaging story; Dripping with atmosphere; Genuinely frightening; Combat can be fun. Bad- Glacial movement makes exploration frustrating; Clunky controls; Low-effort remastering work. Thoughts- Don’t get me wrong, Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse is still a game that I’d recommend to fans of the horror genre, and especially to fans of the series. Those looking for good scares and palpable atmosphere will find them in abundance here, and the fact that this is the first time the game has released in the West is also significant, making it much easier to recommend for those who haven’t played it. But above all else, what this remaster proves most through its deficiencies is that a new, modern Fatal Frame game that irons out the clunkiness and hones in on the series’ biggest strengths could easily go toe to toe with the genre’s biggest giants. Hopefully, Koei Tecmo will find enough success with its recent Fatal Frame re-releases that it decides that it’s finally time to develop a full-fledged new entry in the series. Until that happens though, this will do well enough.

I know the GHOST HAND **** is something FF's famous of. But sometimes when they set the pick-up angle bad enough you won’t be able to see it not mentioning to avoid it. You f*cking developers CAN NOT design any punishment mechanisms players can’t avoid. If you do, then this is no along a game but a pure bloody insult.
