Streep once again unnecessarily proves she’s the best in the business with her performance, delivering more in a single quiet line delivery than most actors can achieve.

Even when the sequel loses momentum, and it does like to repeat itself, Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci are comic virtuosos not to be resisted. That’s all.

The funnest sequel of 2026. "The Devil Wears Prada 2" seems to be in a situation where a sequel is better than the predecessor & look at the Rotten Tomatoes score - 2% higher. What makes a sequel like this so good? Have a more different storyline, especially from what I saw in the trailer. Keeping the characters consistent & quirky, which was what "Ralph Breaks the Internet" failed to do. Also, it is a story of mystery & problem solving having plot twists within, no wonder "Murder, She Boat" has been my favourite Simpsons episode & there is a Simpsons reference in the movie! Pretty much like it's predecessor, it is engaging through iconic lines & adventure. I loved the characterizations is this. Benji had an amount of potential, as an antagonist. Next, we have more depth in character - Miranda has turned into a more softer person & Emily is sympathetic in the end, given a job. I do not want to focus on the plot this time in a review. Have fun & catch Lady Gaga!

Like the first movie, the second is a sleek diversion with brittle and sharp laughs, truckloads of couture threads and lashings of light drama.

You can’t help but wish that this edition of the story was a bit more… groundbreaking.

Maybe this frivolous little movie reflects our own world back to us in more ways than we might wish to admit.

The first movie, for all its fluff, gave Miranda that eminently quotable “cerulean sweater” monologue, but this follow-up has nothing as interesting to say about fashion, or journalism, or life as anyone leads it. It’s sending nostalgia down the runway and expecting us to wear it, when the perfectly comfortable original already fits just right.

The first Devil Wears Prada was certainly an artifact of the 2000s and this sequel is too, in that it's a soul-less nostalgia grab with some interesting opinions it doesn't really want to dive into.

It's hard to make a sequel to an iconic movie. I think they did a terrific job! Great acting, storyline, and had all the ingredients to make a great movie.

A disaster. It has nothing that the first one had. It’s like going back to a college reunion and seeing how everyone is still talking about what happened years ago. There’s no interesting dialogue, no reflection on work—there’s nothing. The supporting characters don’t have any personality either; they’re just there to fill quotas. And the saddest part is that all of them depend on a man to feel complete and be happy. All three of them.

Think the Netflix version of the original.
Ironic due to the first one hammering the point about knockoffs.
