The end result is a top notch when gameplay, entertainment value, and difficulty level are perfectly tuned to the same pitch.
Saros stands tall as a bold evolution for Housemarque, proving the studio wasn’t content with simply recreating the magic of Returnal. Instead, it refines and expands on it in meaningful ways by pairing its punishing bullet-hell combat with smarter progression systems, broader accessibility ideas, and a narrative that trades clarity for intrigue. Arjun’s relentless, emotionally driven journey through Carcosa gives the experience a fiery contrast to Returnal’s isolation, while the “come back stronger” philosophy is felt in every run, every failure, and every hard-earned breakthrough back at The Passage. It can be overwhelming and at times unforgiving, but that tension is exactly what makes its victories so intoxicating. And by turning struggle into growth and persistence into something deeply rewarding, Saros cements itself as a serious GOTY contender and a lot more than just a sequel in spirit.
If you like roguelike games, this is one you should not miss. Likewise,if you like challenging shooters or elliptical storytelling, Saros is also here for you. All three of these things run primarily beside each other throughout the experience, and playing will not disappoint you. An excellent game by any measure, I’d recommend Saros to almost anyone even slightly interested.

Don't buy it! Full of politics and WOKE agenda. Very bad in any aspect. Don't buy it!

This could have been a perfectly fine game if the story had not been so heavily focused on modern identity politics and DEI messaging.Games with this kind of forced ideological content should be clearly labeled, so players know what they are buying. This is a perfect example of how modern politics can damage an otherwise solid game and pull the player out of the experience.I cannot recommend it at all. I hope studios eventually learn that pushing political messaging into games comes at a cost.

Saros masterfully delivers on everything it sets out to do. Although the game doesn't yet have any extra content to enjoy after the ending, it manages to entertain the player for a long time simply through the curiosity of testing all types of weapons and searching for audio recordings of past crews. Saros is the kind of homework a student is proud to show to the teacher.

Amazing game from Housemarque yet again. Gameplay focused through and through, just like Returnal. Add amazing music and sound design, and another dark story like Returnal did, and you know its gonna be good.

This game is fantastic, it improves almost every aspect from returnal. I do think returnal has better replay value and I miss daily challenges but otherwise fantastic. Disclosure: still need to complete final biome but I love this game and look forward to creating crazy difficult runs to see how far I can get once I beat it...

A little more forgiving but still just as hostile and relentless, Saros is a worthy companion piece to Returnal and another terrific first-party showcase for PS5. It successfully builds on Housemarque's unique talent for beautiful bullet patterns, creepy tentacles and pulse-pounding action that makes you feel in danger while being the danger at the same time.

Like Returnal before it, Saros didn't need to be a roguelike at all. That the experience holds up so confidently regardless is a testament to the game's quality, largely because the core gameplay is once again every bit as tight as you'd expect from Housemarque.

Saros is definitely a solid, challenging, and very well-executed game within the Roguelike/Bullet Hell genre. Although it features simplified mechanics reminiscent of Returnal, it distinguishes itself enough to keep fans of the genre interested. Visually, it is one of the most beautiful games in the recent history of this generation, featuring an interesting plot and frantic gameplay. Even though it no longer has the element of surprise, it is a highly recommended game.

There’s so much happening during the action that you learn to focus on the centre of the screen, relying on reflexes and peripheral vision to take it all in simultaneously as the scene explodes. Saros asks a lot of you – you’ll strafe until your thumbs hurt – but it taps into something primal, pulling you into a flow state where even a screen full of flaming orbs spat by towering hostile aliens no longer seems that big a deal.

Saros is still a good game. I will never dislike a game that looks this good and plays this well. But the lessons that Housemarque learned from Returnal resulted in a game that is less than the sum of its parts.

Buttery smooth and fast paced combat with stunning visuals. The environment, the audio/music, the combat, and the bosses are all incredible. Amazing game.

no vale la pena comentar mucho, si te gusto returnal dale, lastima el camino que esta tomando sony, se ve un futuro oscuro para todas sus franquicias. buen juego entretenido, basura de historia.

Honestly, the gameplay is great, but the world, the characters, and the story are just the worst. When you beat the game, you learn that everything you have done is pointless(I won't spoil it). If you don't care about the storyline, characters, and depth, then the game is 7 out of 10, but if those things matter to you, I recommend skipping it.
