Swapped takes the tropes of body-swap comedies of the past and filters them through a decidedly contemporary lens.

On the story level, Swapped is simple to a fault, yet there’s a surprise enchantment to it — it’s a woodland fairy tale for seven-year-olds, but on that score it’s visually ravishing and actually rather touching.

The film never gets too heavy-handed in its themes, thanks to its fast pacing, frequent doses of humor, and myriad plot twists, including one that qualifies as a doozy.

Pelage and plumage noticeably lack the tactile quality of a Pixar extravaganza, but the animation gets a pass for the movie’s purposes — namely, to impart a message that communities should trust each other, whether they’re covered in rotely-rendered feathers or fur.

Even if it wasn’t hot on the tail of Pixar’s Hoppers, Swapped would still be an overly familiar adventure towards empathy, one light on comedy and insight despite plenty of visual imagination in its world of flora-fauna hybrids.

A cute, simple, and very colorful fable of a film that will almost exclusively appeal to the youngest of kids.

Unfortunately for the streamer, their latest outing, Swapped, is not merely bound to be forgotten. It's also one of Netflix's worst animated movies yet."

AMAZING MOVIE, EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT I ENJOYED IT VERY MUCH ESPECIALLY THE PLOT TWIST

Swapped is a decent, likeable and very easy-to-watch family animated film. It does not discover anything new, nor does it really try to, but it works reasonably well as an adventure for children, with a clear message, a colorful world and that classic idea of literally putting yourself in someone else’s place in order to learn empathy, coexistence and respect for those who seem **** story begins with a very familiar premise: two creatures who belong to different, almost opposite worlds swap bodies and are forced to work together. From there, the film builds an adventure of survival, friendship and mutual discovery. It is true that everything feels quite familiar. The storytelling does not surprise much, and many of its lessons arrive exactly where you expect them. But within that familiar territory, Swapped remains pleasant to **** best part is the visual world. The forest, the hybrid creatures, the colors and the design of that natural universe have charm. The film is strongest when it allows itself to observe that environment, to play with shapes, sizes, movements and the differences between species. There is more imagination in the creation of the world than in the structure of the story. Visually, it has some lovely moments, and in a family animated film that already helps a **** message also works, even if it is simple. The film talks about prejudice, fear of the other, cooperation and community. It does not do so with great subtlety, but it does not really need to be too complicated. For a young audience, the idea is clear and useful: sometimes you only understand someone else when you stop seeing them as an enemy and begin to live, even briefly, from their place. It is a message that family cinema has repeated many times, but it is still **** problem is that the script plays things too safely. It lacks more spark, more risk and more personality. There is adventure, humor and emotion, but almost everything feels carefully measured so as not to disturb or surprise too much. The film does its job, but rarely dazzles. You can feel that it has a strong visual base and a capable team behind it, but the story could have had more wit, more depth or more truly memorable **** a comedy, it is not especially brilliant either. It has pleasant situations that come from the body-swap idea, but not many real laughs. As an adventure, it works better, especially thanks to the dynamism of the environment and the relationship between the two central characters. And as a family film, it will probably work better for children than for adults, although it is never heavy or irritating.Swapped is fine. It is not a great animated film, but it is not a failure either. It has color, rhythm, an effective premise and a gentle message about empathy. It lacks narrative originality and stronger emotion, but it is enjoyable enough and can work very well for a family afternoon. A pretty, simple and entertaining film, although it may be forgotten faster than its visual world deserves.

This came up in the feed and I watched it with my daughter (5). The good: the animation is well-executed for the most part, and the world and its creatures are interesting and a bit different. The voice acting is, generally, solid, and there's nothing objectionable about the story. It is quite generic. The bad: the *pacing* is off generally. Scenes have a touch of padding, run a bit long, or they aren't particularly relevant. The "beats" just aren't being hit. My daughter is captivated by many films, even slow ones (e.g., Studio Ghibli fare), but this one didn't hold her attention and she'd drift in and out of the story (though she'd notice if I rewound to catch a phrase or something). Also: just as a side note, I was pretty shocked that the pods do not work the way they are depicted in the trailer. This might seem like a small ****, but it is a detriment to the pacing. I understand why the writers structured it the way that they did, but it caused avoidable drag to the pace (KPDH this is not). The baddie reveal / turn at the end, while conceptually interesting, is not very well executed, and the voice acting there is noticeably strained and less tonally consistent than the rest of the film. Overall a serviceable film: nothing extraordinary, nothing objectionable.

Tirando a animação que se destaca, o filme em si é a definição de (Genérico) o roteiro é extremamente previsível com o clichê de 2 grupos que não se entendem que ficam bem no fim, e um protagonista que se odeia pq fez alguma besteira, mas ai ele aprende se respeitar e salva a todos. O vilão reviravolta (twist villain) foi totalmente tirado do nada pra dar um vilão pra historia, com motivações totalmente idiotas mal explicadas do porque ele fez o que fez, o motivo dele ter causado panico na floresta foi basicamente "Eu era fraco e me abandonaram por isso todo mundo vai sofrer" e para por ai, e pior, o filme não da o mínimo de indícios do vilão (que começa como um amigo) vai ser vilão, foi algo aleatório pq o roteiro precisava de uma batalha final, e termina com o clichê de protagonista que todo mundo acha que morreu e ele na vdd não morreu, no geral, para mim, não vale a pena as 2 horas investidas pra assistir se vc quiser algum roteiro bem construído e que vc vai se lembrar depois de anos.
