An unforgettable experience. At no point in the game will you be calm or feel comfortable, and that's the best part about it.

Ultimately, what really makes Condemned worthy of your sleepless nights is its relentless pursuit of total ambience, a design quality that's intrinsically tied to the power of the Xbox 360. Survival horror has simply never looked this good.

This first-person action game hits you like a sledgehammer with its astounding, stunningly creepy presentation, but it sacrifices opportunities for more shocks and surprises by settling for repetition.

Comdemned criminal origins in my opnion, is the best console launch game ever made....There is not another game out there more unique and amazing to ply then the original condemed....Must buy game even in 2026, it holds up superb.

Repetitive combat and enemies, boring and nearly non existent story, enemies shoot through Walls but good atmosphere. Game is garbage and a waste of time

An impressive game from 2005 even for today standards. I played it on my Series X using my Astro a40 headset. WOW. The game looks, feels, and sounds amazing on that combo. The Astro a40 picks up all the little sounds that make the game truly scary. The sound design in this game alone is 10/10. You can hear enemies beating each other, grunting, yelling, and swearing down the hall to where you can only imagine what is happening and what awaits you. Not many games truly scare me but the department store level was actually scary! The weapons feel nice and do good damage with satisfying effects. The story is decent, can be hard to follow sometimes. Overall, fantastic game.

Though the game could be longer and could stand more diversity, the cold shivers that run down your spine while playing it are an undeniable rush.

CCO has all of the gameplay, story, visuals and atmosphere that you could possibly want in a mystery game and I think does them all to a proverbial "t".

A solid game, and honestly one of the few launch titles that bring something new in terms of gameplay.

Smashing a street thug over the head with a crowbar and then snapping his neck with your bare hands has never felt this good. Condemned: Criminal Origins is all about delivering a disturbing atmosphere and brutal melee combat. In that regard, Monolith has hit the nail on the head.

Although at times the gameplay is monotonous and it doesn't feel like there's much to the game, Condemned makes up for all of this by being one of the scariest and atmospheric games ever made.
75
Though it has no multiplayer, the single player story is engaging enough to sit through even if extremely straightforward and linear.

The combination of slow pacing and boring, nondescript environments makes for too many dull stretches. [Feb 2006, p.86]

Truly a Masterpiece of its time. Visceral combat with a fair bit of variety to keep things interesting. The atmosphere alone warrants a play through. I cannot recommend this game enough.

Très bonne ambiance, avec un récit plutôt prenant. Par contre les combats au corps-à-corps ne sont pas évidents et trop nombreux sur la fin.

This game earns a two for it's ideas and for attempting something different using light effects well in a new generation but the truth is I owned this game and never completed it and I think that says a lot for the immersion I felt with this game. I thought the combat was sloppy and got really boring really quickly and there was nothing in the story keeping me gripped. If you can get along with the combat it may be worth getting in an Xbox Live sale for a quid or two.
