The first game was vividly detailed and a treat to look at. The sound design was also great. It seemed they changed the gameplay for the worse though as the monster chasing you was kind of annoying and the added parts of the game made it drag a lot. The second game didn't seem to change much. First game = 7/10 Second game = 6/10 Combined Score 6.5

Started out promising. Favorite designs of the game were the cinematic aspect and sound. The "hitman" gameplay wasn't my cup of tea though. I really didn't like how you can't dash for cover. The fighting, stealth, and gadgets got really old after playing for awhile. The farther I got in the game, the less I enjoyed. There was a lot of unrealistic moments that happened in the cutscenes as well as gameplay that took me out of the experience. The action isn't as good as Uncharted or Tomb Raider. This is more of a stealth game. I also didn't find the plot very interesting. Game seems really overhyped as "the best Bond game since Goldeneye".

High on Life 27

I enjoyed this game more than the first. The series has potential for greatness but is still a mixed bag. The visuals are pretty good. Colorful and vibrant. The plot had a nice balance of seriousness and silliness. A lot of the voice acting was mediocre and annoying but some of the characters are done very well like Gene. The shooting mechanics were better this time around but still average compared to better shooters out there. The puzzles were also decent but could be better. The best part of the game is the wackiness and silliness. The world looks pretty nice as well but navigating it could also be improved.

Unique atmospheric horror adventure. The sound design was top notch. The locations, special effects and animation were awesome too. I like how the game progressed with new locations and didn't outstay its welcome by staying in any location too long. The collectibles are all very cleverly hidden. This was a big step up from the little nightmares series and it's really cool to see the developer's progression. A very talented team. It was a very fun and well done horror adventure. Very awesome to play co op as well.

I really enjoyed the visual aesthetic of this game. It was also interesting how they made it like an Indiana Jones adventure. It was nice to play a lighter kind of game that also engrossed you in its narrative and characters. I wasn't a big fan of the puzzles as they were more logical and obtuse and a bit too complex for me, but it was great they added a hint system, so you can focus on enjoying the journey.

Very creepy game. The sound design was very good. The atmosphere was a big creep fest and the plot was one of the better ones for the series. The stealth was done well although it got repetitive towards the end. It would have been better for replayability if you could skip through dialogue you've already watched in previous playthroughs. The twists and turns of the game were pretty good and the suspense was very good throughout also. I think horror movie fans would enjoy.

Resident Evil Requiem6

I was super hyped for this game and was looking forward to an evolution of resident evil 8 with third person view. This game is more like the RE Remakes but I felt like it was worse than better. For some reason, the game just didn't excite me the way I was hoping it would. My favorite resident evil games are RE 0, RE 1 Remake, RE 2 OG, RE OG, RE Code Veronica, RE4 OG, RE 5 CO OP/Mercenaries.

When I first started playing the game, I thought it was going to be one of my favorite games due to the upbeat sci fi atmosphere and interesting character relationship. The early gameplay and level design was what I enjoy too. Linear gameplay with finding some secret resources. The gameplay got too repetitive for me as the game progresses though. Probably best for action player gamers. I couldn't stand doing so many fights every few minutes. I really would have enjoyed the game with less fighting. I liked the visual aesthetic. I think the uniqueness of the game was a breath of fresh air. Especially the innocence of the character's relationships.

Gorgeous atmosphere and animation like previous games. Game isn’t as well polished though. Controls can be annoying and too many deaths ruin the flow of the game. The last boss was especially annoying. Doesn’t add much new. Doesn’t stand out as much as the 2nd game.

Takes all the best aspects from different modern survival horror games. The world, characters, and atmosphere are very well done. This is probably Bloober Team's best new IP yet. A surprise heavy hitter game. Very lengthy. I felt they could have trimmed some of the game off. Also, it would have been great if they added a dodge mechanic and the ability to walk a bit faster. Holding the run button down hurt after a while. Loved the music and voices. The gameplay wasn't anything groundbreaking, but was very tight and tense. Guns and upgrading was very well done also. I would love to see what they could do with a sequel having an established IP, bigger budget, and more action oriented gameplay. Bloober Team is helping keep survival horror alive and proving they are one of the best survival horror developers currently.

Gorgeous, relaxing, meditative game. I really enjoyed the surfing gameplay mechanic and wish more games utilized it. This game was a pleasure to play and the devs best game yet. They are really talented. I would love to see a fully fleshed out game from them. It’s refreshing to have a game without combat. I think it would be perfect if they added more interesting secrets to their next game. The game felt more on the bare side and like it was missing something. It was enjoyable for its length though.

Nice to play a game that tries new things and is also co op. It’s a pretty long co op game for the type of gameplay that isn’t your typical shooter. Characters and plot were pretty generic. Visuals were good to great. Gameplay became more satisfying during the 2nd half of the game.

Improvement from the first game. Visuals and sound design are top notch. Gameplay is simplistic with not much variety. Just walking, running, combat, and puzzles. The combat was pretty cool although repetitive. The visuals and sound are really the standouts of the game.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle6
May 2, 2025
I tried to enjoy this game, but it felt like I was playing a mediocre ps3 or ps4 game. The action inputs were too simple and too much running around from one place to another. Movement was also clunky and slow. I couldn't stand the stealth and fighting. The game design just felt outdated from a previous generation of games. Uncharted and Tomb Raider are a lot better. The cinematic storyline seemed like it could be the best part of the game. It didn't capture my attention though.

Astrobot felt like Super Mario for the ps5 with fun and unique power ups. It was fun to find all the different bots and unlock the collectables. The gameplay got repetitive though with so many bots to collect. The enemies also became annoying and the platforming challenges weren't my cup of tea. I enjoyed the exploration and hidden secrets part of the game the most.

Loved the exploration and puzzles. Atmosphere was amazing. Visuals were good. The level design was also pretty good and interesting. One of the best horror games to come out lately.

The Casting of Frank Stone6
Dec 26, 2024
The atmosphere was creepy and it had some decent tension. The effort was squandered with a poor plot where not much of any interesting substance happened. The characters were not memorable or likable which does not make me want to go back and replay scenes to keep them alive. It seemed like the game was cut short and not fully fleshed out. There was a lot of meaningless, boring dialogue added which felt like it just there to pad out the game.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth6
Mar 5, 2024
I loved the first final fantasy 7 remake and gave it a 10/10. Somehow, I just couldn't get into this second entry though. The world felt too bloated with extra activities that were mind numbingly boring. The game's plot just seemed to meander without much of a focus or interesting story. Too much unnecessary side story elements. Surprised, it got such high ratings. I realized I wasn't enjoying myself at all. The gameplay and design also felt dated. Too many reused assets from the first remake.

Visuals and music were great. The game had a Silent Hill vibe to it which was cool. The chase gameplay scenes were tense but also kind of annoying. The game did give me goosebumps a few times. It was decent for a free game. The plot wasn't very satisfying tho.

Final Fantasy XVI7
Jan 30, 2024
I was really looking forward to FF16. While it's an impressive action game, it doesn't compare with the all time greats of the series. Especially in terms of plot, characters, and storyline. Visually, the game is quite impressive with the attention to detail and the color palette. Something special is missing from the game though. I didn't feel emotionally connected to the game and looking forward to what would happen next. It just felt like I was going through the motions and started becoming a grind to play. Quite a disappointment.

Dead Space9
Jan 10, 2024
This dead space remake surprised me. I thought it was going to feel like a chore to play through again since I already beat it a few times in the past, but this remake really brought new life into the game. They did an excellent job of making the game even better this time around. I enjoyed all the new additions. I forgot how fun Dead Space made survival horror. It really became the king even besting Resident Evil. I hope we get a return of Dead Space because I really missed the series. Only negatives were the game starts to drag a bit near the end and the combat starts getting predictable and repetitive. Also, I wish there was a way to set custom marker waypoints. That would have made using the map a lot easier.

A Plague Tale: Requiem7
Jan 6, 2024
A Plague Tale: Requiem is a surprisingly good step up from the original in terms of production values, graphics, and gameplay. I enjoyed how there was more variety of gameplay and a more fleshed out world and characters. The feel of the game reminded me of Game of Thrones with a bleak and depressing medieval setting. The best part of the game for me was the gorgeous visuals and environments coupled with gameplay that actually made you think and try to determine the best course of action. Also, the fact that the game wasn't pure combat all the way through. I also enjoyed there not being much of a hud in the game. The cons of the game were that the gameplay and plot started to wear thin about 50-75% of the game in and the game felt like it was just dragging on and on. I think they could have cut out some of the middle sections to avoid this. Also Hugo's voice was incredibly annoying and cringey to listen to. Overall though, the game made me feel like I was in this realistic medieval world and care about the fate of its characters.

Horizon Forbidden West9
Dec 14, 2023
Horizon Forbidden West is a huge technological leap in video games, setting a new high bar in production values. The visuals are incredibly breathtaking and the most realistic I've seen yet. The way they have captured nature is jaw dropping. The animations and immersion is also on the same caliber. This is the PS5's version of breath of the wild and it blows it away. It also takes the best of other genres and mixes it into the game. I'm usually not into open world games, but this is one of the best I've ever played. Only downside for me was the combat gameplay wasn't my preferred style.

Astro's Playroom8
Nov 30, 2023
Astro's Playroom reminded me of classic 3d platformer games I grew up playing in the 90's during the nintendo 64 days where games were cute, fun, simple, and relaxing. I really wish the gaming industry would return to making more games like these instead of all the dark, combat heavy shooting and fighting games. This game has so much charm and creativity. It showed off the controller's new mechanics very well. I enjoyed how compact the game was and how it didn't outstay its welcome by being too long. The collectibles were fun to collect. I think Astro is a good mascot for Playstation.

The Talos Principle 27
Nov 25, 2023
Visuals were breathtaking in this game. Puzzles were well done, although I enjoyed the previous game's gradual difficulty increase rather than all the regular puzzles being mostly simple and then golden gate puzzles being mostly hard. Felt like they could have cut down on the puzzles also. I got puzzle burnout with the full amount of puzzles in the game. The narrative felt quite broad too with not much really happening over the course of the game. Overall, this game will help you get your puzzle fix for a long time.

Supraland: Six Inches Under7
Jun 23, 2023
Supraland was one of my favorite games. Six inches under is more of the same but the level design and puzzles/rewards aren't as good as the first game. I understood though as the developer said the dlc was training for new members of the team for supraland 2. I still enjoyed core gameplay though. Also, when the game launched, there was a game breaking bug and one time I played for 3 hours and the game didn't save my progress. So, those two things also detracted from my score. Some of the end chests/rewards were incredibly challenging and time consuming to get also.

The Evil Within6
Jun 9, 2023
I finally beat this game after playing it a few times and getting bored. It was quite the torturous chore to beat because of the trial and error gameplay that you had to nearly perfect before proceeding forward. It was more of a challenge to overcome than a fun game to play. The plot/story didn't seem to really amount to anything even by the credits which was a disappointment.

Resident Evil 48
Mar 28, 2023
I've beat re4 a few times and was looking forward to this remake with all the amazing critics reviews. I don't think it's as good or impactful as the original was when I first played it, but this is a solid recreation with modern graphics. I played on hardcore since the game recommended it. The difficulty was quite tough and made the game feel like a slog. I'm wondering if playing on standard mode would have made the game feel more fun.

Stray was a pleasant surprise. Loved the sci-fi dystopia atmosphere. The detail in the world was impressive for an indie game. Really enjoyed the uniqueness of playing a cat and helping robots out. The Callisto Protocol8
Dec 6, 2022
Callisto Protocol continues to evolve the survival horror genre and sets a new bar for the genre's intensity and production levels. With top notch visuals, atmosphere, and surround sound. The moment to moment gameplay is incredibly intense and suspenseful. It's a very brutally tough game that really lives up to the survival horror label and will challenge your endurance to progress forward. You have to use everything in the environment to your advantage to be able to conserve supplies and ammunition to survive. It's the best survival horror game since The Last of Us II. Issues were the last couple chapters of the game were quite a brutal slog with not much fun incentive pushing you forward in terms of narrative, new locations, or scenarios. First 2/3's of the game was a 10/10 for me, but the last third dragged on without much compelling plot and became very repetitive and not fun. Ending was not very satisfying either after enduring the brutal last third of the game.

Nov 24, 2022
I thought this was Supermassive's best game since Until Dawn and Man of Medan. Atmosphere was super creepy and plot was strong in the beginning. Characters were pretty good too. The Entropy Centre7
Nov 9, 2022
This game starts off pretty simple, but as it progresses, the puzzles get quite challenging and make you think a lot. I was quite impressed with the overall longevity of the game and uniqueness even if the environments could get repetitive. A big detractor for me was the pacing. There were so many chapters and each chapter seemed to drag on too long. I think they should have cut out some of the puzzles and made the game shorter and sweeter. Add more substance to the environment. Also, when you died in the game, it was a really bland sequence. They could have improved things like that since it happens often. Overall tho, as much as the game frustrated me with its trial and error gameplay, I also enjoyed the lack of hand holding and a game that required me to think for myself and feel that satisfaction of figuring things out for myself.

Resident Evil Village: Winters' Expansion8
Oct 31, 2022
The dlc was better than I expected based on reviews. They changed up a lot of the original game's settings to give a different type of gameplay which made it feel distinct from the main campaign. Some parts were quite a challenge. The enemies were a lot creepier. I enjoyed the side story.

I was looking forward to this game as I love escape the room puzzle games and there are barely any on the ps4. I always thought it would be cool to have a 2 player escape game as well. Unfortunately, I didn't have anyone to play it with , so I had to play it alone. The puzzles weren't that fun playing solo. It may have been better with two players. Give it a 7/10 for playing solo.

MADiSON7
Jul 30, 2022
Game starts off great and promising. It really nails the creepy, horror atmosphere with the visual and sound effects. Great use of jump scares also. The issues I had with the game was I wasn't able to load my save file making me have to start over twice from the beginning. I loved the puzzles in the beginning. They were obtuse but short and rewarding. The last half of the game really bothered me with all the backtracking solving different puzzles that were a huge chore to finish and not fun. They nailed the horror atmosphere, but the game started dragging in the second half due to the annoying puzzles. I usually love games with puzzles, but these were just super frustrating. I think it was a step up from visage in terms of gameplay, but it could still have used some more ironing out.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge6
Jun 29, 2022
They nailed the nostalgic aesthetic with this game in the visuals and music. Something about the gameplay still feels off even though there's similar moves. Being able to spam the charge up for the super attack was a strange inclusion. I feel like an inclusion of a block move and being able to time a block or counter would have added more of a strategic/tactical gameplay element to this game which is what it really needs. The gameplay is just way too simply for modern gaming tastes. The nostalgia wears off fast and the levels get repetitive and then I couldn't wait till the game was over with.

A decent mix of donkey kong country and top down zelda mixed together. I'm more of a fan of 3d games rather than 2d games though, so I didn't enjoy the 2d levels as much. The gameplay and puzzles are still relatively simple like the previous Yooka Laylee.

Yooka-Laylee7
May 9, 2022
Yooka Laylee is good in the sense that theres hardly in games like it during the current generation of gaming, but it doesn't live up to the popular games of the 90's it's trying to emulate. They nailed the genre humor in the game, but overall the game felt too formulaic and simple in terms of fun factor. Wish there was less content and more quality than vice versa. The controls and camera were also kind of wonky which made the game frustrating to play at times. The magic just seemed to be missing and after awhile the game felt more like a chore to play than fun. The hd cartoony visuals were nice to look at. And the music was relaxing and fun to listen to. The visuals could have used some more detail though.

I was really excited to play this game because of the raving reviews from critics. It was more of a chore than fun to play. Felt overhyped for the full price of the game. Didn't feel like much ****. Just going from point A to B and listening to the narrator drone on and on. Strange game. I feel like if it had more exploration and problem solving in the game, it could really have some interesting potential. It just wasn't very fullfilling to play and felt more like I was playing to completion to get my money's worth.

Love the artwork and music in this game. As well as the isometric view. Also enjoyed looking for secrets and the exploration. The combat is well done and rewarding when you complete a challenge phase, but its just too much fighting for my taste. Uncharted 4: A Thief's End8
Nov 16, 2021
Uncharted 4 expands the core gameplay formula over a long adventure. The production values, visuals, and animation are top notch. The gameplay is solid and there are some added gameplay elements. Overall, there wasn't enough new things to make me feel like the game stood out the way, 2 and 3 did. It felt a bit bloated with a lot of time climbing and shooting enemies. The over the top action scenes were fun though. I wish it was more focused like 2 and 3 and had less extra padding. It was a solid game though. It has a slow start, but gets more fun in the later chapters.
