If you’re a true crime fan, this is going to be the one for you, while also showing you the dangers of letting a true crime obsession go too far. Sometimes, I guess we all need a reminder that going to an exact replica of a place where gruesome murders happened is a terrible idea, even if it is in the name of ‘art’.

The Devil in Me is a really good, surprisingly well thought out horror game. It offers a tense atmosphere in its beautiful, haunted hotel. Next time, it’d be nice to see better actors and actresses and work on the main characters’ mental side, however. Still, it’s a proper horror to be enjoyed alone or with friends.

The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me is an amazing way to end the first season the Dark Pictures Anthology and leaves the player on their seat, wanting more. The cast is seemingly dumb at first but is very realistic to real life stereotypes like the instigator, the nervous wreck, the heartbroken, the air-headed, etc and features game play which is better than all other entries in The Dark Pictures Anthology. The branching and story is phenomenal, but compared to other entries, such as House of Ashes and Man of Medan, the story can seem to be quite lacking. The game has little bugs compared to its predecessors such as Man of Medan, Little Hope and House of Ashes (which all had some form of game-breaking glitch that was never resolved until the latter half of the PS4 and Xbox One's life). The Devil in Me is an amazing way to end season one of TDPA and easily makes me giddy when thinking about its next game "Directive 8020" which will take place in space and will have a similar concept to The Thing.

Supermassive Games successfully concludes the first season of The Dark Pictures Anthology on a thundering note. Powerful performances from a diverse cast of characters and an extremely interesting premise based off of real-life serial killer H.H. Holmes allows The Devil In Me to outshine its predecessors in just about every way.

The Dark Pictures Anthology continues to deliver intriguing stories told through a well-written narrative. Only this time, it feels like we have even less control over the flow of the story. Whether the controls are to blame, weird choices or an even more present army of bugs and glitches, The Devil in Me remains an excellent addition to the franchise, but the next one should be better.

While Supermassive’s formula is starting to need a bit of a punch-up, and the H. H. Holmes Murder Castle is surprisingly less compelling than the earlier anthology settings, The Devil in Me is still a solid slasher story for horror fans to enjoy.

The Devil in Me is another competent and enjoyable enough entry in The Dark Pictures Anthology, but it fails to reach the heights of House of Ashes or even Little Hope. With a lot of potential squandered, it's left to the familiar gameplay loop of past instalments to deliver a robust title. With some new features, the season one finale offers just enough to make the deadly trip worthwhile for fans.

This is the exact same format to the story we've seen a few times now, it's predictable. It's like watching the tenth in a series of films, you know the format, you know what you're getting, you wish they'd mix it up but also you still enjoy it. It looks and sounds fantastic except the depth of field around the hair and other fine details is so broken and more distracting than ever before. I like the director and presenter characters, they're very relatable as they are flawed and interesting. The bearing updated thing is super annoying, it even tells me that when I haven't pushed a button for ages. There was a really long walking scene near the end when I only had one of the less interesting characters left which killed the pace of the finale for me. The final act was disappointing and the ending a shame. Overall though I actually found it really entertaining and one of the better ones in the series.

If you like the previous games it's def more of the same. In my opinion the biggest draw backs to these games is the writing of the characters. They lean way to hard into campy and over used horror movie tropes. Choices are still fairly black and white, you're either going to go this route or that route there's no in between or multiple ways to get to route scenario.

честно говоря, из всех частей, это самая худшая, много проблем в технической части, за сюжет не буду говорить, я не ценитель, я хоть говно съем, но техническая часть плоха. много бессмысленно повторяющихся анимаций, выборы почти ни на что не влияют, иногда пропадают персонажи, или вообще все телепортируется, кат-сцены иногда зависают, так что у одного игрока все нормально, а второй смотрит со стороны как все застыло, анимации странные, дерганные, лагающие. куча повторяющихся откровенно говоря заебавших анимаций, например анимация подъёма куда то. диалоги прерываются просто так, было то, что диалог просто резко пропадал и ничего не происходило, переодически на протяжении всей игры, играя на русской локализации, проскакивают фразы на английском, что ломает погружение, короче пока что самая худшая часть антологии, little hope или house of ashes в разы лучше, нет, в десятки

Honestly I CANNOT decide from where to start about how bad this game is. First things first in a type of game like this you need a good story and a set of characters. Unfortunately you will not find it here. Then the gameplay is so boring you might sleep while playing. Also you have the same 4-5 animations being repeated in the entire game. The ending is very empty and there is not a single character you might care about to make it more emotional or something. The worst part is that it is a choice based game and 95% of the time the choices you make have no effect at all in the progression of the story. The serial killer is the only good aspect of the game. It felt scary at times and had the potential to be a nice horror game. This game is easily the weakest in the series and one of the worst gaming experiences so far. I recommend playing House of ashes its the best in the franchise.
