Little Fockers4
Dec 12, 2013
This installment rehashes what worked in the previous two, and also stays similar in terms of formula. When the characters don't have anything new to say, it's time to stop.
Dec 12, 2013
Meet the Fockers8
Dec 12, 2013
While it does contain strong hints to it's predecessor, Meet The **** gets plenty of fresh humor from the addition of Hoffman and Streisand, and the content is delivered perfectly by a great cast.
Dec 12, 2013
Meet the Parents7
Dec 12, 2013
Meet the Parents is consistently funny (just the fact that the main character is named 'Gaylord ****' had me in stitches), and it reveals a hilarious chemistry between DeNiro and Stiller. It's a classic battle with the soon to be in-laws.
Dec 12, 2013
Mr. Deeds7
Dec 12, 2013
Seeing all the bad reviews, I was expecting something terrible. Instead I found the goofy laughs entertaining, but surprisingly Sandler wasn't delivering many of them.
Dec 12, 2013
Yes Man3
Dec 12, 2013
Jim Carrey has the potential for something funnier, but instead stars in this painfully average and mostly predictable comedy that doesn't do anything new. Yes, this movie isn't funny.
Dec 12, 2013
The Lovely Bones8
Dec 12, 2013
While choppy in terms of storytelling, it kind of fits in with the situation. Ronan and Tucci fit their characters perfectly and as a result produce a heartfelt and powerful watch.
Dec 12, 2013
Pacific Rim7
Dec 12, 2013
The visual effects keep it going rather than aid the story, but I guess what makes it worth the watch is the guilty pleasure of seeing monsters and robots beat the crap out of each other.
Dec 12, 2013
Click4
Dec 12, 2013
Click is an average comedy that drastically turns into a sappy drama halfway through and doesn't live up to it's potential. If only it had spent more time focusing on remote centered gags.
Dec 12, 2013
Winter's Bone8
Dec 12, 2013
Driven by the outstanding lead performance supported by a bleak and raw atmosphere, Winter's Bone took me two watches to really appreciate. Truly real-world and thought provoking.
Dec 12, 2013
The Hangover5
Dec 12, 2013
Everyone was saying this was hilarious, so I watched it. I wouldn't go so far as to say the laughs are non-stop, but there are some and the cast is good enough to pull them off. Nothing too special.
Dec 12, 2013
Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan6
Dec 12, 2013
So stupid it's funny. The titular character delivers many controversial laughs, so stay away if you're easily offended. I'm actually surprised it has such a high score.
Dec 12, 2013
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire8
Dec 12, 2013
Catching Fire is a perfect follow up to the original, and offers great creative direction and depth in themes that keeps it going. Definitely worth the watch.
Dec 12, 2013
Ninja Assassin3
Dec 12, 2013
To be expected, all it has to offer is gruesome violence. Other than that there is nothing to interested in, and a ninja swinging a blade around- no matter how skilled he is- gets boring when that is all there is to be interested in.
Dec 12, 2013
World War Z5
Dec 12, 2013
Jumping straight into the action is both a blessing and a curse. Most of it seems recycled, but is sure to please fans of the zombie genre. The lab scene was by far the best part.
Dec 12, 2013
21 Jump Street6
Dec 12, 2013
Like an off-the-hook blend of Breaking Bad and Superbad, 21 Jump Street delivers a combination of action and hilarity, but it doesn't do it in a very memorable way.
Dec 12, 2013
Kill Bill: Vol. 28
Dec 12, 2013
Not as full on as the first- with less action and more talking- but the style and delivery is perfect in adding substance to the story and concluding it well.
Dec 12, 2013
We're the Millers7
Dec 12, 2013
Filled with great actors and plenty of laugh-out-loud moments, 'We're The Millers' is well worth the watch. It also benefits from sticking such contrasting characters in a story like this.
Dec 12, 2013
The Hunger Games7
Dec 12, 2013
Great acting and fresh direction make 'The Hunger Games' a great watch, but it can get predictable and sometimes the camera movements get a bit distracting.
Dec 12, 2013
Kill Bill: Vol. 18
Dec 12, 2013
Super violent, with great visual style and one heck of an ending. Tarantino delivers by blending genres perfectly, but jeez, he definitely has a thing for feet.
Dec 12, 2013
Knocked Up5
Dec 12, 2013
I went into this expecting a great film, and who wouldn't: a Seth Rogen fueled comedy about parenthood. It just turned out to be a softer side of Rogen with a lot of romance and mediocre humor.
Dec 12, 2013
This Is the End6
Dec 12, 2013
To be honest, the jokes are mediocre and sometimes just stupid. I would only recommend this if you're a fan of these guys, then no doubt you'll like it.
Dec 12, 2013
Pineapple Express5
Dec 12, 2013
There is nothing too special about this, and it isn't one of the best stoner comedies. The jokes are hit-and-miss and sometimes a bit forced, but the great cast makes it watchable.
Dec 12, 2013
Hot Tub Time Machine3
Dec 12, 2013
This film might have a promising idea, but most of the potential is wasted on unoriginal and stupid gags that just get worse as the movie progresses. This makes it just become more and more desperate.
Dec 12, 2013
Office Space2
Dec 12, 2013
This film is stale and bland, which doesn't make it entertaining at all. The humor is dry, often making for boring moments. Half funny, at the best moments.
Dec 12, 2013
Kick-Ass 26
Dec 12, 2013
Kicks nearly as much ass as it's predecessor, but isn't quite as original. What makes it worth the watch is what made the first one good, great fight scenes and dark humor.
Dec 12, 2013
Django Unchained7
Dec 12, 2013
This obviously has excellent fight scenes and great performances as well as direction. But nearly three hours makes it become tedious, with a lot of scenes dragging on far longer than they should be.
Dec 12, 2013
Grown Ups 25
Dec 12, 2013
Who cares if this movie doesn't have a decent story or message? It delivers enough decent laughs to make up for it, just most of them fall flat or are too goofy for most people to laugh at.
Dec 12, 2013
Man of Steel6
Dec 12, 2013
May not have much heart or many surprises, but the outstanding visuals and pummeling fight scenes make up for that. It's a well deserved modern reboot for the hero.
Dec 12, 2013
A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas7
Dec 12, 2013
What's not to love about a fresh round of Harold and Kumar hijinks? This installment is more family orientated for the duo, which lets them show their sweeter side at times.
Dec 12, 2013
Team America: World Police8
Dec 12, 2013
Delivers the laughs with Parker & Stone's usual antics, but what makes this comedy fresh is the hilarious use of puppets, catchy songs and making light of a serious situation.
Dec 12, 2013
Fight Club8
Dec 12, 2013
Unexpected twists and turns keep Fight Club interesting, and it taps into the Tyler within all of us, but is more drawn out than it needs to be. Also has many hidden meanings and metaphors.
Dec 12, 2013
The Conjuring8
Dec 12, 2013
[SPOILER ALERT: This review contains spoilers.]
Dec 12, 2013
The Collection6
Dec 12, 2013
The Saw similarities make it nothing new, (it was intended to be a Saw prequel, so, come on) but this film works by keeping the suspense going and making a genuinely creepy character out of the Collector that makes you want to keep watching.
Dec 12, 2013
The Collector7
Dec 12, 2013
The Saw similarities make it nothing new, (it was intended to be a Saw prequel, so, come on) but this film works by keeping the suspense going and making a genuinely creepy character out of the Collector that makes you want to keep watching.
Dec 12, 2013
The Purge4
Dec 12, 2013
Draws viewers in with an interesting idea, and the first half looks promising, but succumbs to cliches. The second half is boring rather than suspenseful.
Dec 12, 2013
Saw8
Dec 12, 2013
As rough-edged and unforgiving as the traps in it, Saw will get under your skin and holds the suspense like no other. It sets up the series well, but unfortunately none of the others live up to it.
Dec 12, 2013
Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy4
Dec 12, 2013
I was expecting this to be a hilarious Will Ferrel driven film, but instead only had a few laughs and didn't hold up as well as I thought it would. Could have also made more use of the other characters.
Dec 12, 2013
South Park: Bigger Longer & Uncut3
Dec 12, 2013
Relies too much on shock value and swearing for laughs. It's not that I'm offended by the humor, it's that the same old jokes rehashed over and over get boring, and this film has so many musical moments that could have been replaced with something better.
Dec 12, 2013
The Human Centipede (First Sequence)2
Dec 12, 2013
If you are deciding whether or not to watch it, don't watch it. While not as gruesome as I thought it would be, proves that a plot based off one gross-out idea can get tedious. Earns it's points for acting. Also, I won't be going to Germany any time soon.
Dec 12, 2013
Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay7
Dec 12, 2013
Doesn't deliver the laughs as well as the original, and doesn't have such a strikingly simple storyline. At it's core is a story about love, disguised with weed and **** jokes.
Dec 12, 2013
Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle9
Dec 12, 2013
This trip to White Castle has actors that fit their roles perfectly, and as a result is hilarious and filled with memorable moments. It has a surprisingly well delivered message, which will have you craving more.
Dec 12, 2013
Terminator Salvation3
Dec 12, 2013
A CG Arnie goes to show how this film lacks the heart of the originals, and covers it up with special effects. The problem is it gives the unique atmosphere that worked in the earlier ones a blockbuster twist, losing it completely.
Dec 12, 2013
Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines5
Dec 12, 2013
Doesn't live up to the standards set by the first two, and isn't as interesting or thought-provoking, but has some more catchphrases and special effects to keep it going.
Dec 12, 2013
Terminator 2: Judgment Day8
Dec 12, 2013
One of the few sequels that beats the original. More action, a down-to-earth feeling and the return of the perfectly acting Schwarzenegger make Judgment Day a classic.
Dec 12, 2013
The Terminator8
Dec 12, 2013
A classic Sci-Fi that paved the way for many of today's special effects. The overall vibe and look fits the intricate and action-packed plot perfectly.
Dec 12, 2013
Superbad9
Dec 12, 2013
This hectic journey of two high-schoolers on a mission to get laid is fueled by hilarious one-liners, a nerdy friend and honest depiction of teenage life.
Dec 12, 2013
That's My Boy7
Dec 12, 2013
Yeah, it's raunchy and controversial, but frickin' hilarious. I'd rather be entertained than educated. One of the great things about this film is it doesn't care what people think. Just does it anyway.
Dec 12, 2013
The Amazing Spider-Man8
Dec 12, 2013
Stays a lot like the first Spider-Man in terms of plot, but action-packed fight sequences and great use of CGI make it a fresh take on Peter Parker's story.
Dec 12, 2013
Kick-Ass7
Dec 12, 2013
A twist on the old 'high school geek turned superhero', with Christopher Mintz-Plasse, killer fighting and a few laughs for good measure. Doesn't muck around with drama and makes for an entertaining watch.
Dec 12, 2013
Scarface10
Dec 12, 2013
Only a movie like Scarface can keep it up for nearly 3 hours with unpredictable moves, a killer music score, honest brutality, and, for god's sake, I nearly shed a man-tear at the end.
