Parker jams South Park with so much comic "stuff" that the effect is dizzying, at least for those who haven't left the auditorium in a huff before the end.
80
Sharp, wildly funny social satire behind the profanity and potty jokes.

South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut is a musical comedy film based on the popular animated TV series South Park. Released in 1999, it serves as a perfect satire of censorship and the moral panic surrounding adult content in media. I unabashedly declare that this film is way better than any cookie-cutter Disney musical, hands down. This ain't some sanitized, kid-friendly fairy tale for grandma to snooze through - nope, this one's for the grown-ups who can appreciate raunchy, politically incorrect humor. Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the genius minds behind South Park, took their signature crude yet clever style to new heights (or depths, depending on your perspective) with this film. They fearlessly push every envelope imaginable, with humorously over-the-top scenes of profanity, gore, sex, and general depravity. It's like a fever dream of crudeness that will leave even the most open-minded viewer stunned at times. That being said, this isn't just mindless shock value. The plot, centered around the war with Canada sparked by the boys' love of a vulgar new film, makes some sharp points about first amendment rights, the gullibility of moral crusaders, and parents' tendencies to blame media for their kids' misbehavior. It's biting social commentary wrapped in a sheath of outrageousness. The songs, which parody Disney musical numbers, are equally brilliant, with gems like "Blame Canada" and "What Would Brian Boitano Do?" The animation takes the flat, simple style of the TV show and amplifies it to glorious big screen proportions. The voice acting is phenomenal, especially the chameleon-like performances from Trey Parker. South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut is the perfect antidote to the soulless, sanitized kids' fare that clogs multiplexes. It's a balls-out, foul-mouthed masterpiece that will leave you laughing, cringing, and maybe even contemplating some deeper issues, maybe. If you're looking for a non-traditional Christmas gift that will make your friends and family question your sanity, you've found it. This Blu-ray is a must-have for any fan of off-color humor. It earns my highest rating of 10/10.

Far filthier and a good bit funnier than Trey Parker and Matt Stone's sophomoric cable TV show ever dared to be.

Parker and Stone have created a movie that will doubtlessly infuriate and offend -- and amuse to no end.

Undoubtedly the rudest and possibly the most inspired comedy of the summer.

Ok, I admit at first I was just laughing at the sheer gutsiness of South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone. But after 10 minutes, I was laughing at the script.

Labors mightily to be as offensive and obnoxious as possible. It's inventive in an idiotic sort of way, though, and pauses occasionally to make serious points about movie violence and censorship.

This movie was **** funny, with epic musical numbers such as, blame Canada, Uncle ****, and who can't forget the iconic banger that is, KYLES MOMS A BIG FAT ****

This movie is very mixed. On one hand, for me, it is very funny; however, the story is kind of nonsense; very strange, since the creators of the show and movie – Matt Stone and Trey Parker – pride themselves on not just biting commentary but also a worthwhile story, which was executed many times on not just their show but also the three seasons they've been given during this movie's creation. If you enjoy raunchy comedy (it's very funny), then go watch this; otherwise, you may be looking in the wrong direction.

I suppose that in order to analyze this movie you definitely need to put some of your deepest convictions aside. Almost all the humour comes from shock value, swearing and extremist thoughts. Very unrecommended for Canadian people and lovers because the movie goes total trash to them. The pace is great. Scenario is as weird as those used in the TV series. So obviously if you love this series you will surely love the movie and vice-versa. Anyway the universe finally starts to show some lack of consistency. In the TV series you see those kids swearing all the times in front of their parents but in this movie swearing is going too far?! The movie is full of songs that are more or less funny and accurate. The major flaw to me for this is that the movie capitalize on its success of being openly disrespecful, political and by 'daring to say what nobody dares to say'. This project just appears to me as another step in the main direction taken by South Park without adding any effort to the approach. This sadly doesn't bring anything new to its universe. However I have to recognize that the creators are really inspired as they always manage to put the characters in the weirdest and most extreme situations. Everything always take disproportionate turns of phrase.

Relies too much on shock value and swearing for laughs. It's not that I'm offended by the humor, it's that the same old jokes rehashed over and over get boring, and this film has so many musical moments that could have been replaced with something better.
