This Is the End

In its own sloppy, raunchy, sophomoric, occasionally self-pleased and consistently energetic way, This Is the End is just about perfect at executing its mission, which is to poke fun at its stars, exhaust every R-rated possibility to get a laugh, and even sneak in a few insights into Hollywood, the celebrity culture and the nature of faith.

There are no boundaries in this movie, so deal with it or leave.

As a celebrity’s-eye-view apocalypse movie, This Is The End delivers huge guffaws and large-scale carnage with enough gusto to mask the indulgences. You’ll never look at Michael Cera in the same way again.

By the time September arrives, This is the End will probably be in the running for "funniest comedy of the 2013 summer."

This apocalypse isn’t a nightmare so much as the ultimate bromantic fantasy, one in which – with the removal of any responsibility – the boys are free to bicker, banter, and bed down together.

Some of that fun is infectious. For a while. Maybe 45 minutes. But when actors look as if they’re having a better time than you are, the buzz wears off fast. You turn into a wallflower at an especially obnoxious party.

There are a few laughs at the start of This Is the End, and a couple more at the end of This is the End. As for the endless middle, it’s middling.

I really injoy this it’s the end I wish they made a sequel

Six Los Angeles celebrities are stuck in James Franco's house after a series of devastating events just destroyed the city. Inside, the group not only have to face the apocalypse, but themselves. (6)

The idea of watching actors playing themselves and dying in an apocalyptic event sounds great, shame they didn't work on the script a bit more.

Scoot over celebrities, you will have to earn the ticket, this agenda, unfortunately works only so far in the film, the first act, to be precise. This Is The End Goldberg and Rogen are spit balling. Culminating, admittedly and evidently, "stupid" ideas thrown left and right, Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen, the director, the idea remains the definite seed it was when it was pitched. Beyond that it never grows, but what's been aching is that it never even could. Yet, with an experience in show business for these many years, especially in this genre, these group of friends has managed to draw out an engaging weekend. But here's my problem. Since, they have been in this show business for more than decades, by now, they should have been funny on the screen like they are with each other in a bar. That is what the usual goal is for any comedian. Yet, in here, the humor is dry and irrelevantly R rated. With only few impressive gags up their sleeves where they mock the films that they have been inspired from, there is familiarity in their vocab that we all can resemble to, like "The Exorcism" or Harry Potter references or Jonah Hill and James Franco mocking their own films. Another issue, is that there are way too many references in their conversations, to a degree that Hill has to point out at a certain point that, "Hey, man. That's a good reference." What?! The performance need not be shouted about, I think it was really easy and comforting, considering they were playing themselves- some weird level of narcissism- they were actually good. Not taking themselves up a notch, they saw themselves as some other being and definitely made it look easy. Special appearances like Emma Watson and Michael Cera and Kevin Hart remains the highlight of the show. While the rest of the stuff justifies the title, where after walking out of the screen you will agree that This Is The End.

A pile of steaming crap, sadly. It's just a hall of fame (sort of) of good to 'meh' actors or producers (writers, nobodies, etc.) having fun in a movie that has a plot written on glass of water's coaster - because the person who wrote this hack must be as boring as someone who drinks the same liquid he pisses into. $32.000.000 budget movie with 95% spent on convincing people they will not blow their career's path or, maybe for the desperate ones, making it any better. Anybody and i repeat, anybody giving this puke puddle more than a 7 isn't probably a human being because being drunk and/or stupid and/or a fanboy can be an excuse but even the 3 combined couldn't reach the level of foulness it requires to glorify this mistake. It makes me sick that this .. THING won awards, ergh.
