Wolfenstein: The Old Blood9
May 5, 2015
To say that it's game of the year potential would be a lie. To say that it's not really, really good would be, too. I mean, the short version of this is that TOB is the Blood Dragon for Wolfenstien. The base game was great, and it's here to just give us more of this, if slightly shorter, funnier, and lower priced. It's an enjoyable 6 Hour long game that gives you some new toys, new mechanics, and new enemies to fight, and frankly, that's all it needs to do for me to reccomend it.

All I can say is simply meh. It's not the best game I've ever played, not the worst. It's graphics look horrible on Ultra, it plays more or less fine, but it's just not an amazing game. The only reason I can see really reccomendin it is because it's *supposedly* 40 hours long and the soundtrack is good.

With the launch of Tamriel Unlimited, I can finally say that TESO is at least worth trying out. The lack of a subscription fee, the ability to steal, kill NPCs and some other minor things make it an alright game. Don't get me wrong, TESO is still the worst modern ES game to date. Without full modability, ie making costume armors, weapons and maps, we are in fact stuck with whatever the Devs want us to have. This usually results in very drab weapons, armor and mounts. In addition, the combat is still dull at best. There isn't a whole lot to say here exept that a lot of the game is, in fact, governed by the server and your ping. The cash shop isn't too overbearing. So far, you can purchase mounts, pets, and a few potions, if your so inclined. The whole stealing mechanic dosent seem worth it just yet, though. The skill bar for that still progresses incredibly slowly, and the rewards for pilfering someone's pocket normally don't add up to some food and a Barbie that you can sell for 30 gold. Killing is, much like stealing, pointless, because you will be at a loss for gold soon after your first kill. That, and guards are overpowered as hell. But I'm digessing, quite a bit. The point is that at the very least. TESO is worth picking up for $30 on sale. Don't expect too much, but don't set your expectations too low, either,

It's bad, very bad. Where to start? It's incredibly buggy, not much fun, is too long, and just kinda ****. The original was good. There isn't any denying that. But this rendition is a poor cash in on something that never really needed a sequel. Maybe the addition of a map edition, set to release some time, will liven it all up. Honestly, though, I doubt it. It's not good. Replay the original, get the OST off of YouTube, and play with the Payday 2 masks that came with it, but don't play the game itself.

At the time of writing this, there is over $115 in DLC. In addition, the game is $30, as it has been since launch. Keep in mind, I own every single DLC. The fact of the mater is that that is too much. It will give you hundreds of hours of fun, but just be warned.

I think its the game Skyrim wanted to be. Now put away your pitchforks, I love me some Skyrim, and if I had to chose between the two to play for the rest of my life, i'd chose Skyrim. But for a game i'll beat maybe twice, Dragon Age is the better choice. Not at all based on Gameplay and Graphics, mind, although those are quite good. Its the whole "Epicossity" of the whole affair. Everything here feels like its epic. From its epic music to its epic quests, everything will determine the fate of humanity. I was doing everything for HUMANITY. OH WAIT, IM AN ELF, SCREW YOU GUYS! Really. Thats the good part. Somewhere around an hour in, I realized that I was an Elf. A Dalish one, as a matter of fact. And you know what? People in Thedas are **** to my people. So you know what? I'm going to *Cut out for spoilers sake* and put an Elf high up. I'm gonna be a **** to everyone. I'm going to do what I WANT! SCREW YOU GUYS! And the game supports me in doing this!

I think it should have been $15. Don't get me wrong, The Crew is an ok game. But the only fun I found in it was driving across the U.S. of A for hours on end. It really was fun to drive around. It was a sense of adventure that I haven't felt since Skyrim. After playing for an hour,I could drive from LA to NY, stop at the Grand Canyon, The Rockys, MtRushmore and eveywhere in between for fun. But that's all I was doing. I hated having to go back to story quests, grinding for Xp and Cash. I hated everything that wasn't driving around for my fun. That's why I so it should've been $15.

This War of Mine10
Nov 15, 2014
I think its the Papers Please of this year. It combines equal parts of aformentioned Papers Please, State of Decay, and I Am Alive. It shows how war isn't a good thing. People die. People get hurt. Families are torn appart. War IS bad. It also has some pretty solid AI. Rather, the AI is random, per say. There is no set currency, no set money system, no set value. It all depends on who you are trading with. How the AI reacts to you is based on logic. An old person didnt attack me while i was looting his house because i had a knife, while a dude blew my brains out because I was near his ill mother. The base building is solid, too. This is my base. There are many like it, but this is mine. I really dig the graphics. Some times its a bit hard to make out stuff, but i love it for this all the more. Anyway, this is the short version. Maybe i'll add a longer version, but if you take away nothing else from this review, take away this:This game is one of the best games to come out this year. I wouldn't doubt it'll overtake any number of GoTY canidates, and it sure as hell did overtake mine. Sorry, Wolf Amoung Us

I really don't know what it is that makes this game so great. From the outset, it's mediocre first person shooter with RPG like elements added in. But once played,it seems all too much more. I mean, before I get onto the actual gameplay, let's just get a few things over with. For one, the game looks better then God. Really, the game is amazing. I fell over and went unconscious for a few minutes the first time I climbed the radio tower in the starters zone. Also, the game has a pretty good story. It's a bit cliché, yes,but all the characters are likable,or hateable depending. With all that nonsense outta the way, let's get into gameplay. It's amazing. It's vastly improved over the previous iterations, but that's not really the thing here. Jason can wield any number of rifles, snottys, RPGs,or even a bow if you so desire, and each one is unique and satisfying. Shooting and stabbing your way through enemies is great, top. But that's not the draw. The draw here is freedom. With the exeption of a few missions, you take on missions however you desire. Grab an RPG,C4, and a LMG, and play Rambo. Go through the bushes with a silent sniper. Grab a bow. Play how you want.

It's Ok. The combat is fluid, the controlls solid. The game looks amazing, and it's well optimized. The Story is too much God of War, too little 300. The Co-Op is good for a few hours, but not much longer. It may seem like I'm not being very specific in this review, and, well, that's because it's hard to. It's just a VERY mediocre game that could've been more, but it ****'t. I'll call this one a miss. WWhile it's not a bad game, per say,it is a dull one. It relies too much no the now overused Batman style combat, and too little on LoTR universe and story. The new "make your own army" thing is cool, but.much like the Ass Creed mission type of the same nature, it falls flat. And then there is the small map. And the lack of a real, loot system. And the mediocre graphics. Anyway, now I'm just rambling. The game is Ok. Not bad, not good, not worth $50. Stick to Skyrim with mods if you're looking for a solid LoTR experience

If you haven't played the Metro games, now is the time. They are some of the best FPS games on the market. The Redux has made the game look better, but at the cost of it, that, the lighting is more based around light than dark, as the originals where. The gameplay has been improved as-well. There are some tweaks to make it into a more of an action game in 2033, but this can be turned off to make it into a stealth based game in the options. The game runs a lot better on PC, too. Aug 19, 2014
Ok, the game itself its quite good. It has an amazing story, especially for a more or less Mafia tale, the characters are all top notch, and all the lines are well preformed. The graphics look pretty good, with some bad textures from time to time, but its all cell shaded, which makes it look a lot like Borderlands. But that would only be if Borderlands was bloody. No joke, there was less gore in saving private Ryan. Limbs get torn off, people get impaled, and its all in this bloody mess. Which is good, by the way. Anyway, the gameplay is very arcade like shoot em up, with your demon arm to help impale people. Even on the lowest difficulty setting, its still a hard game, coming from a seasoned DkS2 vet,and well, ya. The only gripe I have with the gameplay is that ammo is semi-scare in early game, which well, just feels weird in an FPS. Overall, if you find the game on a sale, pick up up without hesitation. If you dont, well, here comes one of my only gripes. Single Player length. It will last only about 6 hours on Med. I get that its not that big of a deal, but well, for a game with not to much replay value...I mean, it does have a coop mode, but when I picked it up, the coop was dead.

Risen 3: Titan Lords3
Aug 12, 2014
It suffers from the same problems that Risen 2 did. I mean, for one, the story is cliche beyond all measures. The side quests, which are in abundance, which is one of the games only good points, are MMO like, with cheaply written lines that are acted out by cheap voice acters, and like I said, felt like they should be in an MMO, not a AAA RPG. Combat is still bad. It uses an MMO like hotbar system, which isnt bad IF they had any talent to pull it off. But they dont. What results is a uber-dull combat system, which, as I said, makes it seem like it should belong in an MMO. The graphics look bad, aswell. I can see this getting by on consoles, but running it on the Max settings on PC, I laughed at how bad it looked. I mean, c'mon. A 7 year old game on low(Crysis) looked a lot better then this. The lip syncing is still off, and the animations are poor. All tropes of an MMO. Anyway, the only good thing about this is that it has over 200 quests, which really isn't that much by todays standards, but anyway... This one is a miss, again. Its mediocre at its best moments, which don't happen to often. I'm not going to go so far as to say that I want my money back, but really, I was expecting a decent single player RPG,NOT a cheap MMO.

Without a doubt, TNO is one of the best FPS games of the past few years. Gameplay is smooth, easy to learn, and makes you feel like a god. Graphics look good enough, never outstanding, but never awful. The Story is pretty damn good as far as World War shooters go, and I actually cared about the characters, and wanted to know more about TNO world. Hard to learn-easy to master Like I said. The first few hours of this game where a living hell. Tutorials didn't help. Controls made no sense. A **** community didn't help, either. But then I got used to it. I found a few people that helped me through the starting hours. I adjusted myself to the controls. Then it was great. Granted, this isn't much more than a standard MMO, but this time, it has space-ships. The game takes place entirely in the cockpit of a ship. You grind to get better parts, and a better ship. Simple as that. Granted, this is a very specific MMO, aimed at a specific audience. Its for people that will spent hours on end figuring it out. Once you get it, its fun. Your ship becomes a god, your raking in money, and who knows, you can even do some of that corporate sabotage.

Thief6
May 18, 2014
Thief isn't a stealing my money Lets get this out of the way, I never played the original Thief games. Oh, I also didn't like Dishonored. So therefore, I should hate this game, right? Wrong(ish). In short, Thief is a good, fun, some times lackluster game that won't be redefining gameplay anytime soon. First off, I figure I should scream at the graphics. But instead of screaming, i'll be kissing them. Thief is VERY pretty. The city, shadows, and textures are just plain...beautiful. The game takes place nearly at night, but that very stops it from looking good. Running it at Med. settings, the textures look about 100x better than most of the next-gen games. The same goes for the shadows. I mean, I want to say how realistic these look. Granted, I ran these at the max settings, but they look truly life-like. The city itself hasn't seen better days, graphically that is. Views over the city are rivaling Far Cry 3, and that's saying quite a bit. I almost forgot, the fires look beyond amazing, too. In short, if you want one of the prettier games to come out this year, pick this one up. Now to the story. As I said, I've never played any of the other thief games, but here is my take on it:The City(Thats really what its called) has been overrun by a plague. Garret got some super powers, at the cost of your "girlfriends" life. You, for some reason, want ****...save her or something? Frankly, after that. I really stopped caring. After a point, I just started to skip the cut-scenes and more or less zone out. So, if theres anything to be said about the story, it's that it's forgettable, annoying, and was a general waste of Development time. Now to the all important gameplay. Well, its like Dishonored, just bad. *I'm not saying Thief is a D. Ripoff*. So, like I said. It revolves around sneaking around various places, to, well, steal stuff. But the stuff you steal isn't gold, or anything like that. Its magical objects, and documents, and stuff that aids in the shallow story. Granted, from time to time, you actually steal gold and the like. These rare missions of sneaking around and doing what Thief's do are amazing, and fun. But then back to the stealing documents...they are sadly more like the latest CoD game instead of a steal&stealth game. Action sequences, dull, forced combat, boss battles, and well, again, a lack of stealing makes these missions seem...weak. About the Stealth. Its done decently well. If you are walking in water, or on glass, you will be louder, and the Ai will find you. The maps are laid out in a way where there is always quick and sneaky ways to get around, but the thing is that most levels are too small for me to bother with the stealthy road. Your bow will 1 hit kill every enemy(With a headshot) and unlike Dishonored, the game won't get harder if you go around killing everything. Then in forced to use my stick. Like in thief games past, you,Garret, have a blackjack, a glorified stick. You can sneak up behind enemies and conk them on the head, which is all fine and dandy. But then when you get detected, your forced to engage in a sort of turn based fighting system. Not really, its in real-time, but **** enemies hit you, you hit them, then you die. Unless,of course, you buy the focus upgrade that allows you to kill enemies in focus time. But aside from this, the combat its dull. You really cant make an escape, so if you get detected, you die. So a summary:Thief is a incredible looking game that is quite shallow outside of that. Forgettable characters, a lackluster story, and bad gameplay make this really not worth while 6/10. Skip it
