DOOM10
Jun 15, 2020
Just gonna say it right off the bat. DOOM was my favorite game of 2016. It is non-stop, gory, over-the-top action that I can pick up and play any day at any time and have a blast. These are the types of games I love the most; arcadey, fast-paced, relatively short, and very replayable. That's not to say that I don't enjoy other kinds of games or genres, but it is these experiences that I love to revisit over and over again. I've been playing for 4 years now and it hasn't gotten even the slightest bit old. The game has a story, sure, but neither the game nor the DOOM Guy give a f*ck about it, so it is very clear that you shouldn't either, that's not the focus. For those curious, the game does offer quite a bit of lore and details about what's going on, so if ya wanna take the time to understand it all, it is all right there to be consumed. I myself don't really care, so for all intent and purposes all that matters in this game, is that a portal leading to Hell has been opened in Mars and your job is to absolutely annihilate anything that comes out of it in the most brutal way possible, and eventually take the fight to Hell itself. Doing that job is very easy, as the game gives you all the tools you need to rip and tear through all of its levels, filled to the brim with Easter eggs and secrets to find. As you go along you'll get more and more weapons to use. It all starts very standardly, a little gun with infinite ammo, and a shotgun. Eventually, however, you'll start getting weapons more and more insane; a Plasma Rifle, an Assault Rifle, a Rocket Launcher, a Chaingun, a Chainsaw that runs on fuel but can cut through almost everything, and of course, the mother of all weapons, the Big F*cking Gun-9000, which destroys basically anything, just to name a few. As if that wasn't enough you can also upgrade these weapons, giving them new features, by exploring the gigantic maps and finding little upgrade robots. For example, you can upgrade the shotgun to fire an explosive shot, transform the Chaingun into a Mobile Turret, stuff like that. Pretty much all of these upgrades kickass and are a blast to use. Should you be running out of ammo, you can perform brutal melee attacks against enemies with low health to do very violent glory kills, which give you life and ammo. Very rarely do I run out of ammo in this game, and even when I do I can take advantage of certain power-ups you can encounter every now and again, that either boost your speed, defense or put you in a berserker state to savagely tear any demon in your path in just one hit. Speaking of the demons, the enemy variety is high. You have your standard fodder, your mobile demons that shoot fireballs, demons with jetpacks that shoot rockets, big dudes with lots of hp that shoot lasers, demons that teleport, Boss demons that are very satisfying to take down, and so many more, I love the enemies in this game, they each serve a specific purpose and multitasking never feels too hectic, especially because DOOM Guy handles like a dream, he's fast, responsive, agile, and throughout the course of the game, you'll get upgrades to his armor and movement, which also come in handy when the game slows down a bit more and asks ya to do some platforming, in order to break up the pace, keeping the combat fresh. It also in these slower sections, that you'll probably realize that this game looks gorgeous, the art style is so hellish, with very striking colors, I love it! There are tons of things to keep track of, if you stay still you'll get your butt kicked, you gotta keep moving, constantly thinking of ways to deal with the threats up ahead, and on higher difficulty settings you'll truly feel like a one-man army doing the impossible, as some of the most intense heavy metal tracks play as you're destroying your enemies. Like I said tho, the game does enough for me to break up the combat segments so that it doesn't get repetitive. It'll ask you to explore, find keys or secrets, platform about, put your skills to the test in some self-contained challenges you'll find in the levels, etc. There are tons more to do than just combat, the game knows how to break it up without it feeling like you're wasting your time. This is a game that is meant to be played over and over, it's addicting, it's intense, it's satisfying and most importantly, so much fun! The main story mode is enough for me to get my money's worth, but there's also a multiplayer mode, arcade mode, Snapmap, things like that. I haven't dabbled in those other features I have to admit, I just have way too much fun with the main adventure to even really care, but they're there should you want to try them out. Honestly, what else can I say? I love this game, it's a masterpiece in my eyes, a shooter that is worth every little bit of money spent on it, and one of my favorite games of all time. I haven't played DOOM Eternal at the time I'm writing this, but I'm sure it'll be really good too.

The Last of Us Remastered7
Jun 15, 2020
So, The Last of Us Part 2 is almost here. That's what made me want to play this game for the first time. I wanted to see what all the fuss was about and see if I could understand both sides of the argument better. I can confidently say that I do, however, I also have my own 2 cents on the matter of the first game, and please don't be deceived by the score I'm giving it; The Last of Us is a good, polished, worthwhile experience, don't have any doubt about that... but one lacking in lasting value for me. In terms of the story and the characters, The Last of Us does a really good job. The story is generic, one we've seen both before and after this game came out, however, even tho it's full of tropes and cliches, it's very well told. Naughty Dog may not be the masters of originality, but they certainly know how to take already existing concepts and execute them very competently, for the most part. What makes it all work are the characters, how they interact with one another, the conversations they have, etc. They feel real, they feel human and you can connect with them. The highlight of the game for me is the ending tho, it's very grey, and left with really bittersweet feelings and I love it for that, it's the reason I ultimately ended up coming out of the narrative with a positive vibe. After finishing it, I didn't feel like there needed to be a sequel. What I really like about the tone, is that even tho humanity has gone to ****, nothing feels overly dark for the sake it. It's never oppressively bleak, its moments of conflict are contrasted with characters and conversations that make you smile even if for just a little bit, which reminds you that not all of humanity is terrible. Showcasing both sides of the coin was smart and kept it feeling real. However, that doesn't mean I loved everything about the narrative, as I thought its structure was very repetitive. The events that happen within that structure are fine, and they develop the characters well, but everything in the game revolves around going to places and then something going wrong over and over again. It makes the story feel like it's always stuck in this one place without making any forward progress or gaining momentum, even tho we're always getting closer to the finish line. So by the time I got to the end, it was almost like the ending just snuck up on me and it made it feel like the game had gone on for way longer than it actually had and like the narrative was padded out. BUT that's all in terms of the story, in terms of gameplay is where things get tricky. These "narrative-driven games" are something that I may enjoy in the moment, but the fact that the story is what ultimately carries the experience means that The Last of Us and games like it, have very little lasting value and replay value for me. Once I know the story, I have no reason to go back to it until I've forgotten enough about it. Because while the gameplay is competent enough for it not to be anything bad, it's far from being great. The shooting mechanics, the upgrade system, the stealth, the enemy design, the "puzzles" the melee, these are all things that have been done before and after and done better. None of them are done badly, (Except for the puzzles, which are really mindless and boring; it's always a matter of taking a thing and then putting it somewhere else again and again), and the mix of these elements is certainly fun to play around with for the duration of the game, but once I've seen what they're all about and tested their limits, that's it, there's nothing to keep me playing. It's all perfectly functional, but mechanically basic. I do like the situations the game creates with these elements, that it encourages me to manage resources, use as little ammo as possible and that challenges give me the freedom to resolve them in various different ways but in the end, they always end up feeling very similar to one another, especially because the enemy variety is lacking, the AI is exploitable, the exciting set-pieces are few and far between, and many of them can be resolved by using similar strategies. Not to mention that the game has tons of 7th Gen tropes that I simply cannot stand; slow walking segments, puzzles so basic that they just become pace-breakers the second time through, cutscenes that I may or may not be able to skip, slow movement, etc. These are all things that kill replayability for me. I see the heart and polish put into the game, I can see the love of the developers and the details they put into each and every collectible and gorgeous environment. That's something to be appreciated, however, at the end of the day, while the game can create many moments of great tension and excitement the first time through, I can't really say I like playing The Last of Us as a game in the long run. In spite of how well crafted and confident it is, I don't see myself playing it again, because it's a great experience, but an average game.

Pokemon Sword6
Apr 19, 2020
As far as the typical Pokémon formula goes, the game doesn't break new ground, after all, Pokémon's formula is one of those things that just works well all on its own, it's fun catching Pokémon, raising them, building your team, taking advantage of type weaknesses, visiting towns, challenging your rival, defeating the evil team, winning gym badges and completing the Pokédex, as it's always been. It's a tried and true approach that remains as fun as ever so that all checks out. But of course, that's what we take for granted at this point, it's what makes this series what it is. It's everything that surrounds that winning formula that makes these games feel so underwhelming. See, I'm not a stickler for visuals, but this game certainly doesn't really take advantage of it being on a home console, this is a running trend as you'll see. The animations are serviceable, some look pretty good, like the Dynamax attacks, some look decent and others look unfinished. I understand that animating every single Pokémon in the way Stadium did it is out of the question, and cutting down the Pokédex is a sensible move from that perspective, but even putting the animations aside, the overall game doesn't feel like it belongs on a home console. Some environments look nice, and other times you're looking at Ocarina of Time trees and low-res textures. For the most part, the game looks just fine, but it's inconsistent and doesn't feel like that big of a step up from what we were shown on the 3DS. However, to give credit where it's due, the soundtrack is phenomenal. One of my favorite in series, the gym leader music, specifically, never fails to get my hyped. All of the rival theme's are great, the pieces that play in different areas, and of course, the track done by Toby Fox is a big highlight, it's so Deltarune it hurts, I love it. Wish I could say the same about the story tho. Pokémon games have never had an outstanding narrative (except for Gen 5), but most of them still managed to be captivating, with fun characters, a good villain and intriguing plot... for the most part. Unfortunately, this story might just be the worst one yet, it has tons of miss potential, an antagonist with laughable motivations, setups that almost never get good payoffs, a super basic and predictable structure, the list goes on. That's not to say it's all bad, in fact, I like how the journey is set up, with this being like a competition between lots of trainers. Really makes ya feel like... I guess a football player? But with Pokémon. And I think the main rival, Hop, is way more than just Hau 2.0, he actually has a pretty compelling character arc, a nice personality, and a good resolution. The best "friend" rival, without a doubt, and one of the best rivals in the series for me, and that's a hill I'm willing to die on. Outside of those few points tho, nothing in the story is anything to write home about, it's by the numbers, and really undercooked. Which also holds true for the gameplay, unfortunately. As I said, Pokémon's formula is fun on its own, but with this being the first mainline game on a home console, you'd figure they'd add something more to really make the experience feel like a logical next step. And it sorta does, the Wild Area is a step in the right direction. It's an open area where you can catch Pokémon, get fruit, set up camps, and join raid battles. But it doesn't amount to anything else beyond that. Eventually, it loses its magic and becomes less of an open world, and more of a bunch of empty space where you try to search for specific Pokémon. Pokémon camp is cool the first few times, but there's barely anything to do. You can watch Pokémon interact, give them curry, play with them, and that's basically it. It feels like a worse version of what we had in Gen 7, where we could also clean our Pokémon, pet them and feed em' personally, which really helped me bond with the Pokémon I had. If Camp also had this, it would be great, no doubt, but that just isn't the case. And if ya wanna talk about concepts that feel like worse versions of what we had before, just look at Dynamax, which you only use on very specific situations, only really amounts to making the Pokémon bigger, with few getting cool redesigns, and on the whole, it just feels like a less inspired version of the Mega Evolution, only now they've added less impressive looking Z moves for every time you use a move when the Pokémon gets bigger. It's such an underdeveloped gimmick. Look, guys, Pokémon Sword and Shield aren't *that* bad, ok? They're enjoyable games, and if all you're looking for is for yet another solid enough Pokémon game, then they fill the quota no problem. But for what was this franchise's big jump into a home console, especially one like the Switch, which has some of the most ambitious titles in Nintendo's history, they just didn't stick the landing. They should've been so much more.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate7
Apr 19, 2020
As far as gameplay goes, this is without a doubt my favorite Smash game, it brings back many old mechanics, while also introducing new ones. Yet, the barrier for entry is not high, so even if ya wanna treat it like a party game, anyone can pick up a character and have fun. Which is a good thing considering just how big the roster is, I mean, they brought back every character from every previous games, and to this day they're still adding new fighters, even if the DLC is rather expensive. But at least some of them also add new stages and music, tho even if ya don't bother with the extra content, the base game already has a good selection of stages and an incredible soundtrack full of remixes and new tracks for pretty much every series present, that is just pure ear candy. Not sure if I can say the same for the visuals tho, they're kinda like a more gritty version of Smash Wii U's style, which kinda makes it seem like everything is covered in dust. Not a big deal, but I think the Wii U version still has the better aesthetics, but at least the new visual effects make up for it in some regard, plus the game runs like butter. All of the above aspects are pretty good, however, there are some problems I have with this game that prevent it from being better than Smash for Wii U overall. I am mostly referring to the single-player offerings. Sure, there are tons of characters and stages, but that's for the main smash mode. Everything surrounding it is really half-baked. Classic mode is the only worthwhile, long-term mode for single player, and to be fair, it's pretty good since now every character has a thematic variation of it and it will end in a different boss battle depending on the fighter you're using, like Master hand, Ganon, Dracula, etc. That's all well and good, however, the rest simply doesn't hold up. Sure, World of Light is amusing for the first 2 hours, but it quickly became mind-numbingly repetitive, as all you're doing is fighting over and over and over again. It doesn't even have a lot of cool cinematics like Brawl, and yet it's twice as long. It's clear a lot of time and care went into this mode, as every fight represents a spirit character from a certain franchise, and the map is beautifully crafted. I appreciate that, but it's just way too long, tedious and boring for it to hold any re-play value. And that's basically all the game really has to offer, no really. All-stars has been reduced to just another version of multi-man melee, instead of the strategic endurance round it used to be, on top of the other versions the game has, and rest is stage creator, sandbag and training mode. This is such a shame, considering this is a franchise that usually likes to pack its games with LOADS of content for the player who likes to play the game solo. Smash Wii U, alone, had Classic mode, All-stars, Master & Crazy orders, challenges to complete, Events which was basically mission mode, Smash Tour, playable NES and SNES games, Trophy collection, and all the other little modes like Stage Builder, Training, Stadium, etc. And on TOP of that, it also had custom moves and stat bonuses for amiibo. Ultimate simply doesn't compare. Its main smash mode is as great as ever, and now you can even do offline tourneys and make permanent rule sets, but besides classic mode that's it. There is no other incentive to go back to the game after sloughing through World of Light and unlocking all the characters unless you're really into fighting CPUs and doing all the challenges. Especially considering that the online is still pretty lacking. Sure, Smash shines most when it's a multiplayer game, but quite frankly, that goes for any game of that nature. And as someone who mostly plays Smash alone, I was left rather disappointed. And no, Spirit events are not enough, because spirits are just glorified stickers, I much prefer getting a trophy and being able to view it in all its glory. But of course, Ultimate doesn't even have trophies or custom moves outside of the Miis. Simply put, Smash Ultimate (or Special in Japan) doesn't live up to that title on the whole. It's still Smash Bros, it's still a blast to play with friends, or if ya like to fight lvl9 CPUs all day, but the complete package is far below what was set previously, on what I still think is the best Smash game of them all, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. A better roster doesn't make for a better game.

Mega Man Zero / ZX Legacy Collection10
Apr 16, 2020
As a fan of the Mega Man series, I am very pleased with this collection. The Zero games are some of the best games in the franchise and the ZX games, while debatably weaker, are still very interesting experiments, combining aspects of both Mega Man and Metroidvanias. Reviewing every game individually would be way too much, so instead, I'll give a brief overview of what you can expect to find in this collection and the overall quality of the games. As far as the Zero quadrology is concerned, they take place 100 years post-Mega Man X series and put you in control of Zero, who has finally awakened after his ending in X6. New characters and antagonists are introduced, and the overall story is much more complex than either the classics or even the X series, believe or not. What's most surprising about this, is that the story is actually a really good overarching narrative, with multiple reoccurring characters, plot threads, twists and turns, and a really strong, emotional, conclusion, featuring some of the most epic moments in the series. As far as the gameplay goes, there are multiple changes to the Mega Man formula as we know it, which makes the Zero games quite unique, like level-up systems, multiple weapons besides the buster and Z saber, mission structures, etc. Not all of these additions are executed the best, specifically in Zero 1, which has big grinding issues, but as the series goes on, it gets more streamlined and fun to play, culminating with Zero 3, which is best of them all as far as I see it since it has a really fun combat system and strong level design. I'm not kidding when I say that Zero 3 gets my vote for best Mega Man game ever made, it's that fun. Every game introduces some new aspects to shake up the gameplay and give it its own identity, so even tho they follow a formula, they don't get nearly as repetitive as the classic series. Some ideas are better than others, but all of the games are very replayable and fun to speedrun, thanks to their tight controls and short length. The ZX series pretty much continues where the Zero series left off, but with new characters and new additions to the formula that makes the game more of a Metroidvania than anything else. Not gonna lie tho, I've always been rather unimpressed with this series efforts in that regard, and I haven't gotten very far in them because of it. I know there are many who love them, but I'm sorry to say, I'm not one of them. Still, it's cool that they added them, and didn't do a separate collection, like with the other Legacy collections. Which brings me to the package as a whole. For 30 bucks, the value in this is incredible; 6 games for 5 dollars each is a steal, especially considering their quality, my own feelings towards ZX aside. If it was just that it'd already have been great, but the remastering process really makes the vibrant colors, smooth animations, and great sprite work of each game pop, and look great even on a big HD TV. Not that big on the graphic filters and borders tho, I think the games look the best in their original forms. And despite the fact that the music was made for the GBA and DS systems, they still sound really good, I mean, this is Mega Man we're talking about, of course the soundtracks are gonna be great. What really seals the deal, tho is the amount of extra content packed within this collection; an easy mode with new checkpoints for newcomers, since these games are rather tough, great HD concept art for every game, a list of all the great soundtracks which you can listen at any time, special cards unlocked through playing that add little details to the game's themselves, and a brand new online mode where you compete with other players to see who can finish a stage first, featuring leader boards. This is by far the best Legacy Collection made to date, it has a good price, a good chunk of content, 6 games, and it all comes in 1 neat little package, instead of 2. If ya haven't played these games yet, and are a Mega Man fan or a fan of platformers in general, there is no going wrong with this, it's a great collection through and through and I can't recommend it enough.

Gears of War: Ultimate Edition8
Apr 22, 2017
I've never played the Gears of War games, mostly because I never had an Xbox 360, but now with Ultimate Edition I can finally say what I think of this **** boy do i have things to say. STORY: One day and without any warning monsters suddenly appeared out of nowhere and starting to rekt our ****. The human kind didn't like that so what better way to destroy the monsters that are trying to destroy your civilization...than by shooting down some lasers and destroy the civilization yourself? You play as a prisoner named Marcus Fenix. This guy was originally a soldier, but due to some sort of betrayal Marcus was sent to prison. But after some events that are never shown Marcus gets out of prison and along with the help of other soldiers and the "Control" Marcus has the objective to basically do whatever task the higher ups gives to his team and kill some monsters. That's a really abridge version of the plot, but that's because there's not that much going on in the story. Plot points like Marcus's father are never revealed, character interactions never lead to anything and overall it doesn't explain anything about the world we live in. It is a TPS where you shoot f*ckers with a shotgun, so I don't expect anything grand for the story, but if you're gonna introduce plot points at least explain them or do something with them...ANYTHING! But *sigh* I guess that's why we have sequels. PRESENTATION: When people say this is a "sloppy remaster" I get honestly confused. Ultimate Edition not only upscales de resolution, but also reworks the graphical aspect from the ground up and the result is a game that might as well have been from this generation of consoles. My biggest problem with GOW in the 360 was the rather dull and uninspired color pallet, I get that it's a War setting, but I'm pretty sure that the real world has more colors than f*cking grey! Ultimate Edition still doesn't have a varied color pallet, but it is a heck of alot more detailed and colorful than the original ever was, especially in the later half of the game. Character models, lighting effects, animations, textures, cutscenes, environments, everything looks TONS better than the original Xbox 360 version...however it does come at a cost. While the game looks good I feel like they could've toned down those graphics, if it meant that the game would run at 60fps. Just like I said in my R&C review, shooters are ALWAYS better with a high frame rate and it's disappointing that Ultimate Edition doesn't do this, 30fps doesn't completely ruin the game, but it does make the gameplay feel less smooth and tight, especially when the game starts to chug when there's too much stuff happening at once. I am happy that Microsoft actually putted some effort here instead of simply upsacling the resolution (looking at you God Of War 3 Remastered), but I still would've preferred 60fps over shiny visuals. I'll just get this out of the way and say that sadly the music, while fitting for the moments of gameplay, was honestly forgettable and bland. And don't say to me that shooters can't have catchy music, because DOOM's theme song still exists. GAMEPLAY: I wasn't expecting much in terms of the mechanics, seeing how this is one of the first TPS games out there and a 2006 TPS at that, but surprisingly not only do the mechanics still hold up, but they're among the best shooter mechanics I've ever seen, even compared to games of today, they're so good in fact that I consider them nearly perfect! The core gameplay is this: You run with the A button and take cover automatically when you run into something, you point with the left trigger, shoot with the right one, you can shoot without aiming, you switch weapons with the D-Pad, do melee with B, recharge with another trigger and give orders with another trigger, which I'll explain in a sec. This may sound very basic, and to be honest it is, however what makes this gameplay so especial is in the little things. To recharge you don't only press a button, but you also gotta time it just right so that it recharges faster, not only to shoot, but also chainsaw enemies to death with the same weapon. Everything feels fast and kinetic in this game and I love more because of it. Tho one complain I do have is with the variety, or lack thereof. The mechanics are fun, but I recommend playing this in short burst, because it will get repetitive in a few hours. All you do for 95% of the game is shoot with barely anything to shake it up and that's honestly a very big flaw right there. Boss battles do require some strategy, but they don't do much, and figuring out how to defeat them is not really that hard, but they are at least a bit more than just bullet sponges. I could go on and on with the rest of the features of the game, but at this point I said everything I wanted to say. Overall this game, while not perfect, it's still a good time and a good investment if you have a Xbox One. I'll give it an 8/10

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D9
Feb 20, 2017
Even though I'm a BIG Nintendo fan...I gotta be honest, the Zelda series is one that I don't really care for. That's not to say they're bad games, but they are games that I personally don't really like that much in terms their nonlinear structure. I much prefer a linear game to a nonlinear one and that's why I decided to give Ocarina of Time 3D a chance, since this game is probably the most streamlined Zelda out **** boy I wasn't disappointed. STORY: Ocarina of Time really doesn't have a deep story. One day The Great Deku Tree, the guardian of a race of children called Kokori I believe, tells a fairy by the name of Navi that darkness is approaching and that the the kid destined to become the Hero of Time needs to be **** Navi literally finds Link sleeping in about 2 minutes...well that was fast. After that your adventure begins as Link and your job is to save Hyrule from an evil man called Ganondorf, clear some dungeons, meet some friends, do some sidequests and have an all around great time. PRESENTATION: My god this game is beautiful. The original N64 has nothing on this! Everything was reworked from the ground up for the 3DS and the result a colorful and amazing looking game. The models are way less blocky and detailed than before and thanks to better lighting navigating through certain areas is now much more easy. The framerate was also improved from 20 to 30, so now the animations look a heck of alot more smoother. Everything in general is faster, including text speeches, which allows you to go though the game in a more comfortable way. But it's not just about the way it looks, but also way it sounds. Ocarina may just be the most immersive game I've played. Both the classic soundtrack and the sounds of the environment help to make forget that I'm even playing a game in the first place and that's just awesome. The usage of instruments like ocarinas or harps really sell the fantasy world of Ocarina and it just makes for a really unique experience. The writing nowadays does feel pretty immature, but it still gets the job done nonetheless. GAMEPLAY: My main problem with Zelda games is that they require you to explore the world in such a way that I personally always get stuck and don't know how to progress. In games like Super Metroid you don't even get hints as to how to progress and while many people like that...I don't. I don't like getting stuck for 2 hours without making any progress or getting cryptic clues that lead to nothing. This is not present in Ocarina, the game tells exactly how to progress and where to go and while that may be a flaw for some to me it's something that makes the game more enjoyable. I never got stuck, I always knew where to go and what to do, which lead to a constantly satisfying system of progression. Even in the 2 or 3 times where I didn't know how to continue I could always rely on the Shekai Stones that were added to the 3DS version. They showed me hint movies to give me an idea on how to progress through a dungeon and I welcome that change. Some people may say that makes the game too easy, but you can always ignore them, plus it's not like the game will completely tells you how to do something, it just told me where to go, but never how to get there or how to do the task unless I wanted it to, so there's still some exploration to do. Plus you really have to explore to find some of the heart pieces scattered in the world. I did wish that they gave you some hits to find the more cryptic ones, but it wasn't a huge deal. And when I wasn't exploring for hearts or doing sidequests in the overworld I was in the Dungeons, which were filled with enemies and fun puzzles, a new item and a boss at the end that to beat I had to use my knowledge of the item I got in the dungeon. The dungeons were really fun and very rarely did I find myself lost or out of resources. Heck even the water temple was fixed in this game, since now link has 4 item buttons at his disposal and you could access everything instantly. Yeah the temple was still convoluted, but it was way better than before. Ocarina also has a really complex, deep and fun battle system. You lock onto an enemy and start fighting with either your sword or items. The lock on feature can be pretty inconsistent at times, but for the most part it's really fun to fight enemies. Some other improvement also include gyro aiming for more precision with the slingshot or bow and that the menu and map were reworked to be more fast and straightforward. Really the only complain I have is that the overworld is HUGE, and traversing through it as young link was really slow and boring. Later in the game you get teleporters and means to get faster, but for 1/3 I was tediously side stepping all over the place and waiting around for things to happen because at night Hyrule castle was completely inaccessible. Overall...Yeah, I really liked this game, surprisingly. I give it a 9/10

Paper Mario: Color Splash8
Jan 1, 2017
Paper Mario Color Splash is the first Paper Mario game I’ve ever played, thus I don’t have a point of comparison with the other games in the saga. So you can either take this review with the grain of salt or look at it as an unbiased opinion. In any case, let’s start this thing! STORY: The story of PMCS (and yes, I’ll be using that acronym to save space) goes like this: On a dark and stormy night princes peach and Toad pay Mario a visit. They show Mario a letter than in actuality is a bent Paper Toad that is also lacking in color. Mario gets the idea that this colorless Toad came from Prism Island because of the stamp it had on I, which Mario conveniently had already seen before in a convenient poster in his house. With no time to waste the trio set out on an adventure to find the cause of this lack of color. When they get to Prism Island they see that it’s full of blank spots and in no time flat they find a talking Bucket called Huey, who is your partner in this adventure. After you companion Toad is **** to death by a Shy guy Huey gives Mario the power of paint to restore the color to the world and stop the evil bad guy behind all of this. After Huey gets depression after finding out that the paint stars (the source of Prism Island’s color) have gone missing Mario and the bucket team up to find the paint stars. After a few good levels and a pathetically easy boss they get the first Paint Star, who tells them that Bowser (big surprise there) has launched the paint stars to many different locations and now the Koopalings are searching for them…wait…Bowser was the one who skyrocketed the stars to different locations and now the same Bowser is looking for the same stars that he got rid of? Who wrote this?! …After a few more levels the story takes an unexpected turn and Bowsy here kidnaps the Princess…Sorry if I sound sarcastic, but even the game makes fun of this. Anyway…my opinion of the story is that…it’s good, but nothing amazing. The mission here is to rescue the princess and get the paint stars back and that’s about it. The writing and characters definitely do give life to this world, even if the majority are just Toads the humors script definitely makes up for it. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed every line of dialog here and Huey is just an amazing companion to me, he has attitude, humor, sarcasm and a fun personality that makes my interactions with him really enjoyable. PRESENTATION: I'm not even gonna sugarcoat it, this game looks freaking amazing! Nintendo definitely knows how to use what he's given to them and this game definitely takes advantage of it. Everything, literally EVERYTHING is made of some sort of material, ranging from paper, metal, cardboard and many other things that make this world look simply gorgeous! There are also some photo-realistic things that clearly don't fit in with world, but that makes them all the more special. The game has rarely ever a drop in framerate, though it does happens when there's too much stuff at once, but the game still performs very well throughout the majority of the adventure. The soundtrack is also fascinating. It has a sense of energy that makes me wanna dance, even in the more moody of dramatic pieces of the ost I was just consuming ear and eye candy every waking moment of the adventure! GAMEPLAY: The quality of the battle system can be debated, however I personally did find it pretty fun. Using cards instead of attacks was really novel for me and never once did I run out of them, mostly because filling white spaces of fighting monsters was more than enough to fill the 100 card limit and even when I needed more I could just visit the shop and BOOM I'm ready to go. Scrolling though the cards, painting them and then flicking them at the TV did get somewhat dull at times, but I'm a very patient guy for this kind of stuff, so I didn't mind it. Some people bring up the fact that you don't need the paint hammers that serve and EXP to increase your paint meter, however I view it as increasing the convenience rather than power, so the times I ran out of paint from using cards or painting stuff decreased significantly once I upgraded it enough times, so I actually did feel progression when I battled. Each card did a different thing and having to interact while doing it or looking at the spectacle of the thing cards for massive damage was really fun. Aside from battles we also get the exploration segment. Easily the best parts of the game! We have different levels to explore with mini-paint-stars to collect and most of them were really fun. Painting white spots, battling, talking, etc it all just felt good. If I had to complain I would say that the boss battles are nearly impossible if you don't have the correct card that the game wants you to have, though it does give some **** still..! I really don't know why people hate PPCS. For me it was a great time! I'll give an 8/10

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies8
Dec 23, 2016
After reviewing the first 4 Ace Attorney game I see no reason to wait any longer for DD STORY: The story of DD begins 1 year after the events of Apollo Justice. Phoenix gets his attorney's badge back, along with Apollo and new character Athena Cykes. Because of this the Wright Anything Agency finally goes back to lawyering and with this you'll have resolve 5 cases in order to stop what the game calls "The Dark Age Of The Law". Basicly a series of events that happend years ago made people distrust both Attorney's and Prosecutors and it's up to us to put an end to this. The characters introduced in this game are not the best, but also not the worst either. Athena is a likable character that in my opinion rivals the likes of Maya for best companion I've had, her interactions and colorful personality make her a welcome edition. The game definitely focuses on Athena the majority of the time, which can bother some players, but I really wanted to learn Athena's, very dark, backstory, so focusing on her wasn't really an issue for me. Apollo this time around is more experienced and more bad*** than ever and we got to see more of his childhood, but that's about it for him. New rival prosecutor, Simon Blackquill, does a great job of being the guy who constantly interrupts you and throws your theories to the ground, heck he literally attacks you in court with a freaking Katana and yells "SILENCE!" when he wants you to shut up. His backstory may not be all that interesting, but he's still a great character. There's also a new detective, Bobby Fulbright, who is just amazing every time you see him, he's a champion of JUSTICE! And never fails to put a smile on my face with his wacky interactions...however he does have a problem in the end of the game that ruined the character for me. Other than that the secondary, characters like Trucy or pretty much anyone else have little purpose, but to keep the story going and their wacky personalities make the investigation segments more entertaining. Really my only big problem with the characters is Phoenix himself, since now he doesn't act like the mature Phoenix from last time, but rather he now he seems to have forgot everything that he has learned and acts like the Phoenix from the first game...WHAT?! This completely annihilates his character arc from the previus 4 games and while I'm still glad he's back, I feel that giving Phoenix his old characterisation was a mistake. PRESENTATION: Do you remember the sprites from the previus games? Well throw those out of the window because now we have 3D my friend! Yes every character and background are now in the 3D **** it looks pretty good. Do you remember how in my PW vs PL review that I prefer the model of Phoenix in that game to the one over here? While I still have that same opinion, this Phoenix and every other character has something that PW vs PL lacked...EXPRESSIONS! Every character is expressive and well animates which is one of the things I enjoyed the most in the other games and DD does a great job. The old animations have been converted flawlessly and new ones look just as good. And you won't guess this part, but the soundtrack is AMAZING! and this time they used real instruments for the songs and it sounds goooooooood. Now there's even some really well made artwork that looks very smooth. My only complaint here would be the voice acting for the anime style cutscenes. While the animation is self is fine, the voice acting can be sometimes at the levels of Symphony of the night and I'm really not exaggerating, but since these scenes are few and far between they aren't a big issue. GAMEPLAY: You want me to explain the mechanics? Go see my other Ace Attorney reviews, because I don't like repeating **** did? Good, now let's see the new stuff. First of all the investigation segments have seen a pretty good improvement, now you can go to any place at any time, making navigation more streamlined than before. When you examine scenes the game will let you know what you have examined making the process a lot faster, plus since most of the background are now 3D you can rotate and look the crime scenes from different **** yes I said CRIME SCENES, because unfortunately DD doesn't let you examine anything that that it doesn't have relevance to the plot, which is big mistake in my opinion, because examining other places led to more wacky and funny interactions that are now completely missing. The new gameplay element is Athena's Widget, which lets her hear people's emotions when they're testifying, if you see a contradictory emotion you point it out. It works well, but I feel like it was used way too much in places were presenting evidence would've done the job perfectly fine. In the end DD is a great game, however I believe only fans of the franchise should try it **** if you're a newcomer then you should start with square one. With that said i'll give Dual Destinies an 8/10

Five Nights at Freddy's6
Oct 29, 2016
I don't know whether to recommend or not recommend this game (well if I already posted this then I guess you already know, but at the time I'm making the review I haven't decided yet). The thing is that FNAF (Five Nights At Freddy's) is a game that exploded because of youtube, nothing more and nothing less. I have to confess that I WAS a FNAF fan because of the deep story, but when you put that aside and judge the game for what it is...then we have a problem. STORY: **** no. FNAF's lore is way too convoluted to explain, but the basic jazz is that you're a security guard in a pizzeria that has killer robots...yeah, not the best place to be in. You have to survive **** 7 nights and at the end you'll get a **** a goodbye message that means you're fired...THANK GOD. PRESENTATION: Since this is an indie game we can't expect much from the graphics, but FNAF does a decent job in terms of looks. You're office is basically a stretched out 2D image that looks like a cylinder when viewed up close, this is not the best option when you want you're game to be frightening, however when you're playing you barely notice. The sounds are typical horror game cliches like footsteps, weird noises, ect, but we do get to hear the animatronics everyone in a while. The game does a perfect job with the atmosphere, I can say that much, however it doesn't do as good of a job when trying to maintain it, since all of the tension goes away when you find out that all the animatronics do is just scream at you and that's it, and that only happened to me once in my entire playthrough. You know you didn't do a good job in terms of horror when someone like me (who gets scared even by Minecraft) finds the game more repetitive than scary and speaking of... GAMEPLAY: In terms of how you ****'s very lackluster. You use the mouse for all of you're actions, to look at the cameras, to shut doors, to use the lights, etc, which is not necessarily a bad thing, I mean, plenty of horror games have even less control and they still manage to be good, but FNAF exploitable AI throws that possibility out the window. There are 4 animatronics to face (5 if you counts Golden Freddy, however that's completely random), Bonnie, Chica, Foxy and Freddy. All of them do specific...explodable things that make the game very easy when you know how to use them, you wanna know how? HERE'S MY GUIDE! Bonnie always shows up on the left, so all you have to do is turn the lights on and off and shut the door when he is there, do some flash, flash, flash until he is gone then return to the pattern. Chica is the same as Bonnie, but she goes to the right so you'll have to do the process with that in mind. Foxy will never leave his place if you look at him even for a split second, so all you have to do is maintain the camera on him and switch it on and off while you're also turning the lights on and off. Freddy is the most troublesome when he leaves the stage, since he can attack you at any **** you can avoid this by simply checking on him just as you do with Foxy and he'll never leave his place. With this in mind, to beat the first 6 nights all you have to do is: Check the light in a pattern of Right, left, right, then check the camera and go to Foxy's, then go to Freddy's, the to Foxy's again, then pull off the camera, left right, left, camera, left right, left right, OU! There's an animatronic, shut the door, camera, left right, left right, is it still there? keep the door shut, camera, left, right, left, he's not there? open the door, left, right, left, camera. Rince and repeat and there you go you've beaten the game in only 1.1 hours like I did. The only night where this doesn't apply on is the 7th night, but I'm not gonna go over that because...holy cheese is that madness. Though keep in mind that everything you do in the game will drain power, so you have to do this pattern very very quickly. You have a total of 100% power and depending on what you do it will go down faster or slower. Just keep that power until 6am and booya! you win...that's it. Overall I honestly can't recommend this game. It is very easy when you know what to do and it's not very replayable. I got my copy with 50% off and honestly I believe you should too. It's not really worth it even at the price it currently is...however for Halloween this can be a fun distraction. I'll give it a 6/10

Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney8
Aug 21, 2016
To anyone who says Apollo justice is a bad game i say this to you: OBJECTION! This is a fantastic game, it may not be as good as the main Phoenix Wright trilogy, but this game is far from being the worst of the Ace Attorney series (Looking at you Layton). STORY: In this game you take control of **** wait that's Wright! (Sorry for that pun) In this game Phoenix actually lost his attorney's badge after a trial 7 year ago after Trials and Tribulations, now he's known as Phoenix Wright: Ace Piano Player even though he **** at playing piano, but he's pretty good in poker tho...moving on! With Phoenix out of the picture as the main attorney what did Capcom do to have a new- Ok you know what just can just look at the name and cover of the game and you'll see what the did, now we're in control of Apollo Justice, Rookie attorney that is just beginning his career and he'll need to plough through 4 cases to make a name for himself. A lot of people feel the need to remind us how AWFUL! it is to play an Ace Attorney game without Phoenix, because clearly he's all that matters when it comes to quality and if he's not there then the game is not good. Personally i feel that's just stupid, Apollo may not be the bad*** that Phoenix is, but he still is a pretty likable character that does his job very well. Same goes for new character, Trucy Wright, she's a magician and a very cute and charming one at that. New rival prosecutor, Klavier, is also an awesome character and he remind me a lot of Edgeworth, since he just wants to discover the truth, plus he's a rockstar and that's always nice. And also, the villain of this game is gotta be one of the best and most creative in the series, people who have finished the game can attest to that. Finally from the main cast we have returning Ema Skye, who basically confirms that the fifth case of the first game is cannon which is a huge **** up because that means that Edgeworth didn't leave after Turnabout Memories, which means that the plotpoint in Justice for All was total bull****, but I digress, Ema is just as likable as before and now she's actually a detective, replacing Gumshoe. Some people don't really like the characters of each case, but aside from Spark Brushel and Wesley Stickler the rest are pretty fun to interact with, yes even Wocky Kitaki, i just don't see why people say he's such an annoying character, I really didn't see the problem. PRESENTATION: One of the first things you'll notice right of the bat is the graphics. The original trilogy was originally built for the GBA and then ported to the DS, but this game is built specifically for the DS from the ground up and it definitely shows, more fluid animations, more detailed characters and backgrounds and better sound quality. At first the color pallet for the courtroom wasn't eye catching for me, but eventually i grew to enjoy it. The character designs are on-spot like usual and the game is overall very pretty. But of course an Ace Attorney game is not an Ace Attorney game without AMAZING music and this is certainly no exception, the new pursuit theme, Overtaken, has become my second favorite pursuit theme of any Ace Attorney game (second to Cornered of course), the Objection theme does a great job of keeping the tension and both the instrument and style variety is through the roof. If there's one thing that everyone agrees on is that this game looks and sound fantastic. GAMEPLAY: If you want a detailed explanation of how the game works overall then go read my previus Ace Attorney reviews and get that knowledge there because I don't want to repeat ****, you did? perfect, now let's continue to see the new stuff. From Justice for All onward Phoenix always had his magatama item to know if someone is hiding a secret, and while you do use the magatama in a certain place in the game, this time around we get Apollo's bracelet, this thing is very weird, but awesome at the same time, you can only use it in the courtroom segments in very specific parts which does hinder its usefulness, but when you do use it the world becomes psychedelic and Apollo will perceive the witness testimony, focus and zoom in on the person who is testifying, what do you do next? To detect if someone is lying you have to search his "twitch", basically when someone is lying they have unconscious reactions and that reaction is what you ar looking for. You can try time and time again until you get it right so it's not annoying to do, but it's tricky to find. Aside from that every case has a specific gimmick to them, i won't explain them all since they're not a main part of the overall game, but they're pretty fun to mess around with. Overall Apollo Justice is a very underrated game in my eyes. Sure it has some plot holes here and there, but if that didn't destroy Justice for All of Trials and tribulations then why Apollo gets that treatment? I'll give an 8/10.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Trials and Tribulations9
Jul 8, 2016
Finally, i've completed the original Phoenix Wright trilogy. It was a fun ride and now i'm going to jump to Apollo once i finish this, but for now i can safely say, without a doubt in my mind, that Trials and Tribulations, for what i've played so far, is the BEST Ace Attorney game that there is. STORY: Trials and Tribulations does something pretty creative and it actually has both an overarching plot and mini-stories through the cases. BUT! ,unlike that crossover with Layton, the game understand that having both of them at the same time is not a good idea at all, so instead of that, the overarching plot gets mentioned here and there thought out the game (specially in case 1 & 4), but it doesn't distract from the mini-stories of each case, now THAT'S how you do it. The game presents 5 different cases which go from great to great great to genius to LEGENDARY!. Honestly while i prefer case 4 from Justice for All over many of these cases, i would be lying if i said that this game is now incredibly consistent with it's case quality and to be honest even though i feel Justice for All is underrated, i do feel like the consistency there was good, but not the level of these game. Now in terms of the characters introduced i have to say that Godot is awesome, he competes with Edgeworth in terms of which one is my favorite. His motives, backstory, attitude and dialog is incredible and fleshed out, not to mention that his character design looks super cool and the fact that he's a coffee **** that he throws it at Phoenix for a number of occasions is just the icing on the cake. Aside from him we also get returning Maya Fey and Pearl, which are just as good as before, the characters of every case are once again wacky and great to interact **** the most part. Oh and i almost forgot to mention that this game introduced one of the most evil villains i've seen in awhile, i won't say who it is, but you will immediately know as soon as you complete case 1. PRESENTATION: Trials and Tribulations is apparently 3.3 times bigger than the original Ace Attorney, but the graphics are still the same. Aside from the new sprites, animations, backgrounds and voice clips it's pretty much the same. There is one new sprite for Phoenix that i won't spoil, but those who have finished the game know what i'm talking about. We actually get to play as Mia Fey in this game and her sprite work is very well made. Overall there's really nothing new here in terms of the graphics, but the music is another story. Once again we have some kick-*** tunes that fit the moments very well. Caught, Telling the Truth 2004 and Pleeeeease Listen! are among my favorites, but then we have Godot's theme: The Fragrance of Black Coffee...which is just pure magic and of course the amazing, downright EPIC! return of... Cornered!, which in this game actually got a pretty good remix and it plays just at the right moment of the game to make the scene so...LEGENDARY! GAMEPLAY: Trials and Tribulation in this department is no different from Justice for All, so i won't spend any time on going into the game mechanics all over again. All you have to know is that the formula is back and it still good. Go see my Justice for All review if you want more detail. Well then this one was a short one, but you can only comment so much about something that's just like previus thing with minimum differences for so long without getting redundant. But anyway Trials and Tribulations is a game that definitely focuses on the story, the part that is the most important one in a visual novel and it does an amazing job. Now i can definitely call this my favorite in the trilogy and the best Ace Attorney game i played so far. Please give it chance if you have the opportunity, it will be worth it. I'll give it a 9/10.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Justice for All8
Jul 8, 2016
Justice for All was the game that introduced me to the Ace Attorney franchise. My story is like from many others in where you hear of this game of being an Attorney and that's all about reading and using logic and at first you don't get it, but then you actually try it and it quickly becomes one of your favorite franchises ever. For that i appreciate Justice for All a lot and i definitely love this game..., but between this one and the first...i'm a little conflicted. STORY: You once again control the great Phoenix Wright, who transition from being a total N00B to a bad***. In this game you still go through several cases solving a murder crime and declaring your client NOT GUILTY (but there's only 4 instead of 5 like the original, but that 5th case was added to the DS port so it doesn't really count). Maya Fey is once again your companion and in this game introduces 2 new major character which are: The new prosecutor Franziska Von Karma and Pearl Fey, the little cousin of Maya who is incredibly adorable by the way. I don't have much to say about Franziska other than some fans like her, but personally this is the point where the prosecutors became more annoying than menacing and Franziska for me is the pinnacle of this. Complain all you want about Edgeworth in Case 2, but for me Franziska in Case 2 was even worse. That obviously is just a nitpick, but i just wanted to put that out there, other than that Franziska is a good character. PRESENTATION: If you want more detail of the aesthetics then go see my review of the original, because we have...pretty much the same thing. The environments, designs, voice overs and style are still great and just as good as the original. Can't say the same for the music, unfortunately. The soundtrack is amazing no doubt, but some of the best tunes of the original were more upbeat and energetic than this one. The music is still great, but the original had the better soundtrack in my **** by that i mean that Cornered was removed, so that's definitely a negative, however Questioned and Announce the Truth are good enough. GAMEPLAY: Just like the first installment the game is really about the characters and story, so gameplay isn't the main focus, nevertheless they did add some thinks so let's see them. Like i said the game has 4 case which each one getting harder and harder. To win a case you have to get a NOT GUILTY verdict and you do that by presenting evidence and destroying testimonies from witnesses. There's 2 parts: One is the exploration part. Here you have to examine your surroundings to get evidence and clues, talk with people to get information and even more evidence, plus you can show them stuff to see how their react to them and sometimes that opens new things to talk about. However! this time they added a new thing called the magatama, which let's you see if someone has a secret or is lying to you. Why Phoenix doesn't use this in the courtrooms to make things easier i'm not sure, but hey it's videogame logic cut it some slack. Anyway the secrets are represented with locks that you have to destroy by using the right evidence, the more locks the more harder is to unveil the secrets. I believe the added this to make the exploration and the courtroom a little bit alike and while it works well, i never had any issues with the first one in that regard, but the magatama was a good addition nonetheless. But nah, we all know that the second part which is the courtroom is once again the best part of the game. You once again have to take decisions, present evidence and find a contradiction on the witness testimony and it's just as satisfying as before. There are some changes however in the court record since now you can present profiles to accuse someone instead of the game giving you a picture of them like in the original, making things a little bit less predictable. They also changed the penalty system, what once was exclamation marks is now a green bar and while it doesn't sound like much, this means that the game can regulate its level of punishment for messing up, depending on how important the decision is, some of them will only deploy a tiny bit, while others can drain the bar 100% if you mess up, which is always intense...even though i end up resetting the game anyway. Actually that is always the correct strategy for this games just save before doing anything and then reset if you mess up, it may sound like cheating, but in some instances this is pretty much required. Sometimes people say that Justice for all is the weakest of the original trilogy, but in my opinion is just as good as the original. Everything that made the first one returns, plus some new mechanics that help the pacing a little bit more. I do prefer some of the first game cases, but the ones in here are at worst: good. i'll give it an 8/10.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney8
Jul 8, 2016
Ok, now that i have replayed the Original Phoenix Wright Trilogy, it's time to see which one's better and why. First let's start with the original. This game was originally released on the GBA, but then it was re-released on the DS, which had slightly better graphics, music and even a brand new case!. So this is the version i'm gonna reviewing. STORY: The story follows the legendary Phoenix Wright, an attorney that is just beginning his career. He was trained by another professional attorney called Mia. And then a later in the game (and by that i mean the second case) Phoenix will also gets a cute assistance called Maya, who is the sister of Mia. And with her he will go through 5 cases (if you're playing the DS port) to provee that your client is NOT GUILTY of the crime that they're accused of (which is always murder by the way). PRESENTATION: Since this is a graphic nobel the graphics obviously need to be good, and fortunately it doesn't disappoint in that regard. The background are very detailed, having many different things in them, like items, people or just plain decoration that really helps the mood. Same goes for the general sprite work. Every character looks somewhat realistic, but the game knows perfectly that it is a game and the charming designs reflect that, but without a doubt the thing that i most enjoy about the characters are the over the top expressions they make that can range from creepy to hilarious and it's always a fun time interacting with them. Although the game does require imagination in order for some scenes to make sense, like for example when some hits you the camera will shake and a sound will play, but a punching animation never occurs, but this doesn't bother me too much because again, it leads to imagine the scene however you like. Same applies for when character talk, or rather move their mouth and text appears, but this also doesn't bother me because i can give characters any voice i want, since the only voice overs in the game are from Phoenix and the prosecutors, but Phoenix definitely has more lines like: HOLD IT! (when you press a witness), TAKE THAT! (when you present evidence) and my personal favorite, OBJECTION! (when you find a contradiction). Do i even need to mention the spectacular soundtrack?. The game knows when to play the exact music at the exact time to give you the right emotion for the situacion. When you're investigating a more calm music plays, but when you discover a contradiction the music becomes a lot more over the top and gets you pumped. My favorite track has to be Cornered, it just makes me feel like a bad*** every time i hear it play after i destroy the testimony of the witness and speaking of... GAMEPLAY: Since this is a graphic nobel the focus is of course the story, characters, drama and lots and LOTS of reading. The game is divided into 2 sections. One is the investigation part in where yo examine the environments for clues, interact with characters to get evidence and information and also have some funny dialog with Maya. This sections can get a little tedious when you don't know what to do, but that rarely happens in my case. But the best part by far are the courtroom segments. In here the rival prosecutor presents extra evidence to use and witnesses, and your job is to tear their testimonies a part by finding contradictions or simply get extra information by pressing them. It may not sound like much, but believe me, it gets really intense when you finally find that contradict, the witness loses his mind and Cornered plays, it's just such an epic moment. However don't think that you can just spam OBJECTION! until you find the contradiction, because you can only make 5 mistakes and if you waste them then it's a GUILTY verdict, so think before **** just save the game and every time you fail restart the game to not fail. There are times where you have to present the correct evidence to convince the judge, show where the murderer was or pick the right choice. Some of the choices don't affect anything, but others are crucial to the plot so be careful. Now let me get this out of the way: You WILL HATE THE PROSECUTORS. They always stop you when you find a contradiction and they're so annoying..., however the prosecutor in this game, Miles Edgeworth, is actually kind of likable because of his backstory, but i won't spoil it. But we aren't done yet!. In the 5th and final DS exclusive case we also have some new gameplay elements like finding fingerprints, examine the evidence closely, finding contradictions in a video, etc. Because they're added so late they feel out of place, but they're really fun to mess around with and they take advantage of the DS's capabilities. In any case (pun intended) Phoenix Wright is a great game. Being an attorney has never been so fun and i definitely recommend it to anyone with a DS or 3DS. I'll give it an 8/10.

Batman: Arkham Asylum9
Jun 19, 2016
Back in my Arkham Knight review i mentioned that if the rest of the Arkham games were just as good, if no better than that game, then i would be in for a treat...probably the most correct statement i made so far. STORY: After capturing the Joker with no effort, Batman goes to Arkham Asylum in where they will incarcerate Joker. However Batman gets a bad feeling about this and decides to follow the Joker, and just like he thought, the Joker escapes rather easily and with the help of Harley Quinn and some other villains, he quickly transforms Arkham Asylum into his own playground and Batman sees himself in the middle of it. So it's up to the Dark Knight to explore the Asylum, beat the ever living **** out of everything and stop the Joker from provoking chaos. PRESENTATION: For a 2009 PS3 and Xbox 360 game Arkham Asylum still holds up extremely well even by today's standards. The framerate doesn't drop all that much, the environments have tons of details, the voice acting is performed by the actors you know and love, the models are well constructed, the animations are spot on (except for the dialog segments), it's just overall a nice game to look at. Of course there's some popping, dated textures and models and every once in a while the game loads in the middle of the adventure, but that's it. GAMEPLAY: Batman Arkham Asylum is a pretty unique game if i can say so myself. The game has different things going for it and i feel like the combat system is the biggest one. By mashing the attack button Batman will do attacks up the wazoo that will easily combo enemies. While the combat system is very fun and satisfying, is not until the last hours of the game where you really need some strategy, since most enemies can't do **** against you, plus you have counter-attack button that will also put enemies on the ground, but you have to react fast enough. When an enemy is on the ground you can finish them off, but leaves you vulnerable, so check that there's no one around you before doing it. The game however does throw enough enemy and attack variety to not make the combat repetitive, but it does become a little tiny bit shallow. When you finish fights you'll gain experience points that you can use to upgrade Batman in 20 times, whether it's giving him a new gadget, improving combat or toughness, the experience points help to make the game a little more addictive than it's already is. Along the way Batman will get new toys to play around with. You either get them by upgrading Batman (like i said before) or by just going through the game normally. This tools range from variations of the batarangs, to explosive gel, to a hacking device, ect. This gadgets are used for either combat or solving puzzles and situations that the game presents you and they're really fun to use. I specially love to use the explosive gel to set up traps, man does that feel good. But of course Batman is also the greatest detective and for that we get Detective Mode. It's as simple as it sounds, Batman will start seeing things in a blue fashion, it can detect enemies, DNA trails, breath, fingerprints, clues, etc. Detective Mode is great, but perhaps it's a little too great, since there's no punish for using it, you can approach every challenge very prepared, effectively making the game pretty easy. Because of that you'll be in Detective mode throughout 80% of the adventure at the cost of not seeing the game's graphics. In terms of what you can do in the Asylum, there's some collectables and riddles to solve. The former being character biographies, tapes and the riddler trophies, while the the latter is something that the Riddler has prepared for you. You can find all of these things scattered all around the Asylum, but if i were you i wouldn't bother with it. However were the game really drops the ball is in the Bosses. To know how they are you just have to take the Bane boss battle, a muscle dude that rushes towards you, you throw a batarang, he hits himself and then you hit him while fighting some mooks, then rinse and repeat and there you go, those are the bosses of the game. The only bosses that mix things up are Scarecrow, Poison Ivy and Killer Croc, but even those have problems. Killer Croc is more boring than anything else, if you can even call it a boss battle and Poison Ivy is just more mooks with a giant plant in the background. Really the only boss i thought it was design well was Scarecrow, here you have to avoid being spotted by him, while going through a 2D course that tests your platforming and fighting abilities, that was a pretty good boss. Overall Arkham Asylum is a fantastic game, i can definitely see why it was the GOTY of 2009. There's plenty of content i haven't talked about yet, but honestly even when considering just the single player and the game's ****'s still amazing. The bosses may be uninspired, but the game kicks *** in so many other areas that i don't even notice. I'll give it a 9/10.

Portal 29
Jun 17, 2016
Portal 1 left a very good taste in my mouth, while it was short, the polished portal mechanics combined with the creative puzzles made the experience replayable and worth my money. So i was really looking forward to play Portal 2. And at last, a few weeks ago i managed to buy the sequel and i played it all week until i beat it 7 hours in, and honestly, the wait was worth it. STORY: While in the first game it seems you managed to escape the laboratories, in this one you start in a room that seems normal, until a tiny, spherical, robot appears and gets you out of there (destroying everything in the process). He guides you to the old Glados room in where he **** up and brings the old robotic entities back to life. Then she puts you through more test chambers and the adventure starts. PRESENTATION: Just like the first game, Portal 2 has a very clean look. The color white is all over the place, but because it's been a long time and everything is destroyed, now we have more vegetables and darker zones, which translates to a more varied color pallet. The environments this time around are not just white testing rooms, but rather a more destroyed, old factories and caves that help the atmosphere and immersion a lot more. The frame rate rarely stutters in my case, but even with a powerless PC the options given to you to configure the graphics, resolution, etc, will definitely allow you to get a smooth experience. There's still anything in terms of music except for the theme song, but for a game like portal, which is all about atmosphere and ambience, i feel like it doesn't need it. Unlike other games. While in the sound department, i forgot to mention in the Portal 1 review that the voice acting for glados was hilarious and the creepy and atmospheric sounds of the game definitely enhance the experience, and i'm happy to say that the sequel follow suit. The hilarious dialog is still there and the sound design still provides more emersion. GAMEPLAY: Portal 2 is still and FPS with portal mechanics that are used very well in creative puzzles. You still use the clicky things in your mouse to shoot a blue and orange portal, plus now you can do a little zoom on things to examine the puzzles and distance a lot better, though i really used it, when it came in handy it really became in handy. You can still pick up things and interact with objects via the E button, and movement is still through the W,A,S and D keys. The basic mechanics remain the same, but now we have a lot more things to use in puzzles. Mid-way through the game we are introduced to the fluids, this things do all sorts of need things like make you bounce (with the blue one), go faster with the orange one) and if a zone doesn't have any place to shoot portals, the white one will allow you to do that. On top of that we also have things like gravity defying laser thing that pushes you forward on a certain direction, and it can also be reversed so it drags you towards it. There's also an energy barrier to block attacks and a mechanism that launches you in whatever directions is facing. The typical switches to press are still here and the turret is also back (and i forgot to mention it in the Portal 1 review). With this new features and creative thinking, you get amazing puzzles to solve, while the first game had some very unique puzzles, this...this blows everything out of the water. I can't describe how good the puzzles are, you just have to try it by yourself, they require a lot of thinking, switching things, analisis of the environments and tools at your disposal to approach react and resolve all the situations that the game throws at you. In the first game the puzzles focused on physics and the laws of motion, in here the puzzles don't use that quite as much, but everything else makes up for it. I won't spoil it, but the final boss also uses the mechanics a lot better than the Glados fight from the first game, although it should be said that it's actually the only boss of the game, but i don't think that more would've added anything to the experience. Ever since i played Portal 1 i've been looking forward to Portal 2 and the wait was totally worth it. I haven't even mentioned that you can create your own maps or that there's also co-op multiplayer, since i haven't played this modes i can't say much about, but the regular single player is something that you should play right here, right now. Please go on and buy this game, it's very cheap and it will be worth every cent you spend on it. I'll give it a 9/10.

Portal8
Jun 9, 2016
Portal is a brilliant game, a game that is pretty much 80% tutorial, but every hour of entertainment that this game gave me is really worth every single cent of its purchase. STORY: Portal really doesn't have a story to tell, you pretty much have to figure it out yourself because if i tell the "story" of the game, it would sound like this: "You are this girl and your traps with this robotic entity called Glados in some laboratory and you have to resolve the test that this robotic entity gives you" and that would be it. PRESENTATION: Portal has a very clean look, 70% of the environments have white in them and since the game is shooter from 2008, you are obviously not gonna see some incredible models or animations, but you only see that through the portals so they are pretty much non existent. Now this may sound like the presentation is horrible, but it really isn't, the game is more about the style than anything else and it reminds me a lot of Mirror's Edge with white all over the place, simple yet appealing environments and like i said the game looks very clean, which is easy on the eye and the framerate is smooth and even the most powerless PC's can run it. Now the music is pretty much non existent, aside from the theme there aren't any other tracks, but in a game like this it kinda fits, now i would definitely like hearing some tracks, but i feel like it's ok in this case. GAMEPLAY: Portal is a first person shooter, you move with W, A, S, D, you move the camera with the mouse, you pick up things with the E and you shoot portals with the right and **** do you call the right and left click things in the mouse?...uuumm...uuuh, well anyway you get it. Now this mechanic may sound very **** it is, however by using this simple mechanic the developers made some incredible puzzles around this system and their efforts really show, this are some of the most creative puzzles i have ever seen using the law of "momentum" and the possibilities that they have with the portals. I can't really describe it, but believe me, the portal mechanics are use very, VERY well, putting your mind to think and you feel like a badass when you finally figure that puzzle ,that was very hard, out. But it's not just the portals, believe it or not the pick up mechanic is also used brilliantly, you use it block proyectiles, bounce proyectiles, destroy turrets, switch on mechanisms, etc and you use both the portals and the blocks that you pick up to resolve the puzzles. And that's **** really, that's portal, it's a very basic game, with very basic mechanics and because of that it's very accessible, fun, replayable and deep. The puzzles are great, the setting is great, the mechanics are great and overall the game is just a blast to play, it may not be a very long game, but (unlike the order) the game is 100% gameplay and the 3-4 hours that you will play will be unforgettable. I'll give Portal a 8/10. PS. Glados is AWESOME!

Sonic the Hedgehog7
Jun 4, 2016
Sonic The Hedgehog was pretty much THE reason of why the Sega genesis was able to compete with the SNES in one of the most epic console generations ever!, the 16-bit generation, **** does it hold up today?. Now keep in mind that i'm not gonna review the 3DS port, but rather the original Genesis version, since i feel it's more legit and gives you a better idea of what this game is. STORY: The evil Dr. Ivo EggMan Robotnik has kidnap all the animals and put them into robots to get all the chaos emeralds. But Sonic ain't having any of that so he goes to rescue his animal friends, get the chaos emeralds back and beat Robotnik. The story is a little bit more complex than Mario, but not by much and in a platforming game the plot is the last thing i care about. PRESENTATION: For a Genesis title Sonic 1 still looks pretty good. The sequels and other games like Comix Zone definitely have better graphics, but for a 1991 game it still holds up. The game has vivarate colors all over the place. The character designs have a more anime style to them, which i feel is pretty unique. The environments, for the most part, are great to look at. And the sprite work perfectly reflects their concept art. The sound design is also great. The sound effects are really fun to hear, like when you jump on an enemy. And the **** just great. We have some classic tunes here and i can't get enough of it. The Sega genesis sound chip was never my favorite, i much prefer the most realistic and instrumental sound of the SNES, but Sonic 1 definitely uses it very well. Though some songs like Labyrinth Zone and Marble Zone have somewhat of a twang that i don't really like. The soundtrack definitely has a more mood and serious tone than its competitors, but i still like it. GAMEPLAY: Sonic 1 is a platforming game, duh. You go from act (level) to act defeating enemies, collecting stuff and at the end of the zone (world) you fight one of robotnik's creations. Let's start by saying one of the things that sets this game apart, the physics. While games like Super Mario always had the same control in every type of terrain, Sonic will react to the environment in a more believable way. When he goes up-hill he will go slower, when he goes down-hill he will go faster, rolling into a ball will get you even more speed, etc. For many people this is great thing, but personally i'm more ambivalent about it. While Sonic responds very well and movement for the most part is fluid, the level design often means that you will have to backtrack to get out of a specific area and Sonic's jump feel surprisingly heavy. Basic platforming can be a challenge in of itself some times and the level design often punishes you for going fast. Actually let's go into the level design for a little bit. There will be many occasions where you'll go fast, but if you try to fast in any other situation then an enemy will appear and hit you or a piece of terrain will break all momentum. The enemy placement can be downright unfair at times and don't even get me started on the amount of unpredictable bottomless pits there are. Some zones and acts can drag forever, especially marble zone. Not only that, but the game also has multiple pathways that are easy to miss and confusing to navigate sometimes. Sonic team tried to balance all of these with the ring system. Collecting 100 will give you an extra life and if you get hit they will go flying, but you'll still live. However the rings also have another purpose, entering a special stage. Collect 50 and get to the end, then jump into a giant ring, finish the bonus room and get the chaos emerald, sounds simple right? well NO. First of all getting into the special stage is a pain on the ***. Holding onto your rings with all the unfair stage hazards and enemy placement, not to mention the visibility problem that the game has by putting sonic in the center of the screen at all times means that you'll get hit more times that you need. If you manage to do so then the special stage will kick your *** by rotating and bumping you out of it. Getting all the Chaos emeralds doesn't do much, so there's not much reason to get them...unless you want to get a continue. Because oh yes if you die too many times you go back to the title screen making the process of beating the game for the first time a complete pain, unless you beat a special stage then you will have to play Sonic 1 from beginning to end with only 3 lives and no continues. You can find boxes with extra lives, but they are pretty rare and with the amount of problems i just mention then good luck trying to get 100 rings. The bosses on the other hand are pretty fun to fight against and i feel they are very well designed. Sonic 1 doesn't really have any power ups. You can find invincibility boxes and...that's it In the end Sonic 1 is more frustrating than fun for me. Let me clarify that i don't think this is a bad game, i just find that a lot of elements are ****.

Shovel Knight10
May 22, 2016
Shovel Knight is a 2D platformer made by Yacht club games. Since its release it's been getting perfect scores all across the board with 9 and 10 all over the place. Now personally i also think this is a great game..., but it does have some little but noticeable flaws. STORY: You are this knight called Shovel Knight and you have this partner called Shield Knight. Shield Knight gets captured, Shovel Knight retires, the forces of evil appear again, Shovel Knight must go save the day, etc ect ect. In a platforming game the plot is the least important factor for me and Shovel Knight is no different. There's actually a really obvious plot twist, but i'm not gonna spoil it, but if you don't see that twist coming the first time you see the intro...then you are blind as all ****. PRESENTATION: Yachtclubgames wanted to do a throwback to the original NES days. Every level is colorful and charming with detail all over the place!. I'm one of those guys who doesn't thinks that this game uses the original NES colorpalette because...well...just look at it!. Even Megaman 6, Super Mario Bros 3 or Punch Out, wich are some of the better looking games on the NES, had this many details and colors at the same time. The enemy design is also very creative and the animation of the incredibly beautiful sprites is fluid. And the music is also phenomenal, it has that 8-bit style and just like other NES titles the melody is very strong, making it very catchy. They even got the Megaman composer to do some songs...that alone is a testament to the greatness of the music. The game runs at full 1080p and 60fps and it makes everything look so...clear. GAMEPLAY: Like i said, Shovel Knight is an 8-bit 2D platforming game. The game has different levels with a boss to reach at the end, usually being the nights of the order of no quarter. The levels have amazing level design with many secrets to be found and some of them can only be reached if you have a specific equipment, where do you buy this **** the towns!. The towns are little places which are just a means to buy new armor with different effects, extend your life bar or extend your magic meter. To enter the town or levels, we have an overworld that is clearly based on Super Mario Bros 3 overworld. You can also find mini-bosses in here, but i'll go back to that later. Anyway let's go back to the levels for a bit. One of my complaints i see some reviewers point out with the game is that the levels are too freaking long. Some of the stages have 6 checkpoints!, and you might say: "Well that seems totally fair", well yeah, but the bad part of making a long level is that it tends to drag out and become less fun because of it. I totally understand this point, but as someone that has played the Yoshi's Island games...i don't really think that longer levels is a flaw, but i just wanted to pointed out in case you are not the kind of person that tolerates long levels. However! one complain i agree with is that everytime you die you loose a whole lot of gems, but you do have the opportunity to get it back. The problem is that most of the time the jems get in places completely unreachable and while you can use the fishing rod for those situations, the other 80% of the time you can't get the gems back no matter what. The bosses are very easy to defeat, even if you don't have the locket (which is an equipment that makes you invincible for a short period of time) you can just bounce on their heads until they die. Some of them do have moves that negate that strategy, you just wait a bit and then go back to bounce on their head. On the overworld you find some mini-bosses, some hard, some easy, it depends. This is more a recommendation than a complain. Through levels you find some secret passages, some of them unlock special equipment, but most of them just give you more jewels. The problem is that jewels are ALL OVER THE PLACE, so tell me: why would you go into a different, harder, pathway, when the reward you get i just the same stuff that you get by normally playing the level?. I would've preferred if the secret rooms give you a special jewel that you can give to an NPC in some side-quest and then they give you something cool. Something like that would give you more incentive to go out and find those rooms. Each version of the game also has some bonus thing to it. The PS4 and Xbox ONE versions have extra boss battles with Kratos and the Battletoads respectively. And if you defeat them they will give you special weapons. The Wii U version on the other hand gets a sweet Shovel Knight amiibo, extra challenges and a co-op mode. Overall Shovel Knight is not a perfect game like many say, but it's still a stupidly strong game with great graphics, music, level design and mechanics. A great indie-game and i can't wait what Yacht club games is gonna make next!. I'll give it a 10/10. Oh! and did i mention that it also has...FREE DLC!, which i'll review later.

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End10
May 21, 2016
Well...here we are, the finality of the Uncharted series. The saga has been quite the roller coaster in my opinion. The first one ****, the second one was a master piece and the third one was in the middle. And now we finally finish Nathan Drake's latest adventure in his strongest game yet. STORY: Once again we interact with little Nate for a bit and we learn that he actually has a brother called Sam. Then we jump into a few years later and Nate, Sam and some other guy are in prison, but they escaped with a clue to...something, but in the middle of the chaos Sam gets shot and Nathan has to leave him. Then we jump to the future and Nate now is married with Elena and he has a normal life. But that doesn't last for long because, surprisingly enough his brother is still alive and he tells Nathan that they need to find the treasure of Henry Avery or he will **** real this **** the hand of a person named Alcázar. PRESENTATION: The graphics have received a MAJOR! downgrade from the first time we saw the game back in 2014. And it definitely has some popping, low res textures, god awful load times, no reflections and stilted animations from time to time, but the game still has some damn good graphics and it can look downright real with the lighting effects, the other 98% of the textures, the motion captured animations, the realistic models, the incredible detail in every place and this game definitely proves that having a varied color palette DOES NOT HINDER THE REALISM ****!, yes i'm talking to you Gears of War. The sound design is also phenomenal and the voice acting is top-notch. The game runs at 1080p 30fps and i gotta say that the frame-rate is a bit unstable and there's not many music. The soundtrack overall is very forgettable, but it does help to create the mood. But of course my thing with Naughty Dog is still present and i still found some glitches, but not to the game breaking level of Uncharted 3. GAMEPLAY: Since i already reviewed the previus 3 Uncharted games i don't think that i have to explain how the game works (if you want more detail then go see those reviews), instead let's see the new stuff: Now to shoot you use L2 and R2, instead of L1 and R1, and i gotta say, after playing the first 3 games this feels weird. And another thing is that you can switch the direction of your aiming by pressing X, but i feel like it was an unnecessary addition. And because L2 is for aiming, the grenades are mapped to R1 instead. And we're back to the AWESOME! Uncharted 2 3D parkour system, THANK YOU!. And now we are full Indiana Jones!. And what i mean by that is that now we have a wip! and we can use it to swing back and forth in walls or in an open space and fall over enemies to do an instant takedown. And to do all of that you just press L1. Combat has been ticked once again and instead of having just quick time events, we now don't see the buttons on screen, the AI is a lot more smarter and aggressive and your buddies can also help you in combat. Because of these combat is not as useful as in Uncharted 3, but i feel like it was a change for the better, since it balanced the way you attack enemies and it forces you to develop a stragetie. The stealth works just like before, but now the AI is a lot smarter. And now they have a meter that fills every time they see you. If it gets yellow they will investigate the place and if it's orange then the fire fight begins. To know better the position of the enemies, you can mark them, eliminating some of the pressure and giving more depth to an already polished mechanic. The puzzles this time around are a lot easier and fewer in **** that kinda ****. The weapons and ammunition glow, so you could know the exact location. And now you have press and HOLD the triangle button to get a weapon from the ground, this removes the frustration of picking up a weapon by accident. Now in certain areas you will slide and change direction at **** some reason. There's some vehicles to drive and they control really well...most of the time. To add more challenge to the cover mechanic, the "cover places" can be destroyed by the enemy, same stuff happens in previus Uncharted games, but they used it alot more here. You can push things in any direction, instead of waiting for the AI to come and press a button to push something in a straight line. Now you can grab and inspect objects with the same exact system of The Order 1886 (**** that game tho), so it's not particularly innovative or interesting to do. We also have character dialog choices, but they are very fake since they don't impact the story in any way. Just like i said in my Star Fox Zero review. Please IGNORE that 7.8 that Uncharted 4 has in the user reviews. The people giving this game a 0 are just fanboys with no criterion. Uncharted 4 gets a 10/10 for me and i wish the best of luck to Naughty Dog for their next game. P.S: YOU GET TO PLAY THE ORIGINAL CRASH BANDICOOT!...**** YEAH!!!!

Ratchet & Clank (PS4)9
May 17, 2016
Ratchet & Clank for the PS4 is in my opinion a must have for any PS4 owner that likes platforming and shooting games. This is actually my first R&C game **** boy did i missed out on something. STORY: You are this Lombax (a cat-fox-dog like creature) called Ratchet, who wants o be a Guardian of the Galaxy, but he because the leader is a **** so he doesn't let him. Meanwhile a defective robot warrior called (insert extremely long and confusing robot name here), scapes from a planet because he's...well...defective and by the power of convenience both Ratchet and the robot (which Ratchet names Clank out of nowhere) meet and without any questioning the 2 of them become buddies and from there on out they have some great adventures!. In a platforming game the story is the last thing i care about so i'm not gonna bash the game for it, however i will say my main complain and that is that Ratchet and Clank become buddies way to quickly and they never have any character development. PRESENTATION: This game looks like a freaking pixar movie, specially in the very well done cinematics, that from what i can tell, are straight out of the movie. The game runs at 1080p 30fps and it make the character models, the animations and the gorgeous environments pop-up even more!, however in a game so fast paced like this i kinda feel like 60fps is needed and even tho the graphics are pretty sweet, i'm sure that the PS4 can run this type of graphics with 60fps, i mean, the Wii U already does it with Super Mario 3D World so...what's the **** soundtrack is very forgettable in my opinion, but it does help to create the mood for the environments and i like that techno-space theme that it has. GAMEPLAY: The controls of the game are great, they are smooth and the platforming feels great and you have the different moves like the double jump, wall jump and grappling hook to thank for that. You have a variety of crazy weapons at your disposal. You have your default weapon which is your wrench and you can spam it to do a basic combo attack and in case it misses, you just keep swinging, this very helpful with little enemies. But then we get to the other weapons. Some of them are the usual stuff like a grenade, laser gun, flame thrower, etc, but we also get one that can make enemies (and bosses) dance, one that turns enemies into sheep, one that literally transform enemies into pixels and much more!. This weapons are super fun to use and you can also level them up by simply using them. And you can buy more with bolts that are literally EVERYWHERE!. And you upgrade them with some crystals that you find in missions. However you can only do that by finding a special box, which forces you to find one when you want to buy or upgrade something. Personally i feel like them should've go with the Batman Arkham system, where you can upgrade whenever you want. There's different ways to switch from weapon to weapon, but the best one is to hold the triangle button, which pauses the game, and then selecting the weapon. Tho i feel like it's very imprecise, since there were a number of occasions where i picked the wrong weapon by accident because of the menu. Aside from the main weapons we also get a few gadgets that can help Ratchet in his adventure, but i felt like they were not used to the maximum potential, since the puzzles and things that they do seem...unimportant. Except for the oxygen mask, breathing underwater is great. Clank also gets a few upgrades, but they are pretty much the same with one being a helicopter and another being a jetpack. Both of these are very useful for platforming around and using the jetpack to fly feels great. Nevertheless i did feel like Clank could've been used a bit more in this category. To trow variety to the mix we also have puzzle sections with Clank, a tedious and pace breaking hacking minigame that can go **** itself, incredibly fun racing competitions and flying sections that are basically a clone of Star Fox complete with BARREL ROLLS! and everything. Instead of worlds divided by levels, we have massive hub worlds with main and secondary missions and it depends on you which one you want to do. And scattered around all of these worlds are some cards that i don't really know what they are used for and a GIANT-GOLDEN-BOLT that...i also don't know for what is used for. We also have some fairly challenging and fun boss battles, however i feel like they were all just the same. The formula is that you are placed in a platform, shoot the boss until he dies, that's it. Don't get me wrong, he bosses are fun, but i feel like they lack variety. Overall Ratchet & Clank is a very fun game, it has a decent story, graphics ripped out of a pixar movie, music that fit the environments, amazing weapons, fun bosses and an addictive component that makes the whole adventure very replayable. Even tho it has little flaws, i still recommend it a lot. I'll give it an 9/10.

God of War Collection6
May 12, 2016
Ok this time i'm going to do something a little different. Usually a review singular games, but this time i want to do my first review of a collection. Normally i examine Story, Presentation and Gameplay, but because that would not be possible because reviewing 2 games in 1 single review with metacritic's bull**** 5000 character limit would just be insane!. What i'm going to do instead is analise what does the collection adds to the games, what games does it have inside, as well as what does it improve over the originals (if you want to know my full opinion of both games, you can check out my reviews of them). With that said let's begin: GAMES: God of War & God of War II. 2 of the greatest hack and slash of the PS2 and some of the best one's i've ever played, they have some problems, but they are very freaking enjoyable (again, see my full reviews if you want an understanding of my opinion). ADDITIONS: The additions that this collections brings to the God of War games are basically giving trophy achievements, which i don't care about and some videos about the creation of both God of War games and that's pretty much it. IMPROVEMENTS: The improvements are very notable side by side. The resolution and framerate have improved immensely, now you can see the models very clearly and the HD treatment is very appreciated, but that's about it. Anyway, that's pretty much all i can say about it, the 2 games inside it are great, but the extra stuff is lackluster and remastering them in HD is nice, but a collection should add more to the experience aside from just some useless trophies. So as a collection i don't feel like it's all that great. I'll give it a 6/10.

Splatoon9

I already did a review on Splatoon back in February 16 2016, but because the game is still evolving and already purchase the amiibo. I feel like is worth a revisiting. Is it really worth that 9/10 i gave it in my older review?, let's find out. STORY: In Splatoon we get a very simple story. The Octarians (the rivals of the Inklings) have stolen the energie source of **** it back!. P.S: This is only if you play story mode. PRESENTATION: Splatoon just SCREAMS Japan. And the art style definitely reflects that having some flashy colors and models that really contrast the world that the game provides. Performance wise Splatoon is excellent. The smooth 60 fps remain constant throughout 98% of the game, but to do that the game had to be downgraded to 720p, but the antialiasing cleans most of the rough edges. And then we **** **** SPECTACULAR soundtrack. What make this one stand out is that it's a combination of many different styles like Jpop, Rock and even Dubstep, which are very Japanese like if you could no doubt tell. Many of these songs are composed by this game's fictional group, the Squid Sisters, which are composed by Callie and Marie. Why do i tell you that?, well...they are freaking adorable!. GAMEPLAY: Splatoon is Nintendo's take on the third person shooter genre. The main innovation of the game is, of course, turning into a squid (with the ZL button). This mechanic provides a lot of depth to the game, as well as many possibilities of approaching situations, maybe you'll hide in a specific spot to SPLAT! someone to continue painting that area in peace or maybe you will spray paint on the walls to get to a hire area to place a sub weapon or simply paint from a higher place. We also have different weapons like a paint bucket, a paint-brush, a rapid-fire gun, a roller, a freakin mini-gun!, and a sniper-rifle. Each one having a specific use that i can't comment on because metacritic's 5000 letter count ****!. So we have 6 different weapons with each one having different variations and slo packing a sub-weapon. This sub weapons are activated with the R trigger and they can range from a barrier, a paint bomb, a sticky paint bomb, grenades and my personal favorite, the paint-sprayer, since you can leave it in any place and while you are covering a certain area, the sprayer will be painting another in a 360° radio. Not only that, but each weapon also has a "SUPER WEAPON" that can be activated by pressing the stick, but to use it you need to fill a meter by covering area or by splatting other inklings. But when you manage to do so you can activate a Bazooka, a Torpedo, a bomb rush, a shield, a Kraken transformation, etc. Unfortunately the sub and SUPER! weapons are locked with the main one, so in order to get what you want it's completely random, but personally i never had any problem with it. Splatoon has to different ways to play. First is the single player, where you fight the evil ontarians, complete missions and fight extremely fun bosses that requiere stragetie and understanding of the mechanics of the game and with the Amiibo you can get even more missions and unlock mini games and gear or simply giving Carrie and Marie more songs and dance moves. But let's be honest, the online mode is the the main focus here, so let's see what modes we have: Turf War: You have to cover as much ground as you can possibly can in less than 3 minutes and the team who paints more of the stage wins. This will be the only mode that you will get access to for the first 10 levels, but i don't have any problems since it's very addictive. Splat Zones: Here you need to cover a specific area on the map and the team that remains the more in that area, while it's theirs, wins. This mode is extremely fun a chaotic when everyone is in the same place, struggling and fighting over the zone. Tower Control: This mode is the very definition of chaos. There's a tower in the middle of the stage and the team who drags the tower to the opposite team's place or the one who makes it the furthest wins Rainmaker: There's a statue of a Fish laying around the map and the team who carries it to the opposite team's base wins. One player does have to carry the Rainmaker and while it makes you slow, you can defend yourself with tornadoes of paint, but for the most part you depend on your teammates to protect you. Splatfest:. You pick a team of a specific theme like Dogs vs Cats or something. And then you play the other modes and the team that wins the more matches wins the competition. It's extremely fun since it depends on you to make your team win and when Callie and Marie announce the winner you are in the edge of your seat. There's some other stuff i forgot to mention like the way that perks are locked to your gear, but i don't find it necessary. Overall Splatoon is a fantastic and unique game and a definite must own for any Wii U owner and i still maintain that 9/10 i gave it last time.

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception8
May 8, 2016
Well, this is it. Uncharted 4 is just around the corner and i've finally completed the first 3 games, so let's see what Uncharted 3 is like, before Uncharted 4 gets here. STORY: Uncharted 3 actually explains how Nathan and Sully first met and what they are searching for this time. It all centers around this ring that can tell the location of a lost city...somehow. And just like before it's pretty much a race to find it first and get...something inside the city. The story overall is pretty strong, but i feel like the formula for it is just more of the same, making it very predictable by the end. Furthermore there are some characters that are introduced at the beginning, but then in the later part of the game they never appear, leaving the question of: why were they here in the first place?. The story, in my opinion, doesn't top Uncharted 2 plot, but i still feel like it does a fine enough job and hey, we get to see 15 year old Nate and that's nice. PRESENTATION: In terms of graphics Uncharted 3 looks...pretty much just like Uncharted 2. I'm sure there was some improvement, but i don't really notice a difference. The great animations, models, physics and music are still here and the voice acting is just as good as before. But it does have some problems: **** man. I don't really know what i have with Naughty Dog games, but i always manage to find glitches in every single game i've played with their mark. Now in most cases, like in Uncharted 2, their minor ones and don't really prevent me from enjoying the game, but this right here is just pure chaos and i always fear that my PS3 might explode or that the game is gonna collapse. We have everything: Falling through the floor, textures not loading, characters not moving, audio sync errors, getting stuck in places and while the game does have some frame rate drops, i counted 2 times where the game just totally freeze on me and i had to reset the console and do the mission all over again because of it. On top of that we also popping everywhere, from characters and textures alike. I don't know if it's my PS3's fault (which i doubt because i had no problem with Uncharted 2), but this certainly prevented me from enjoying the game to the maximum potential, nevertheless i still think that it's a good looking and sounding game, but it is the definitely the most unstable out of the bunch. GAMEPLAY: Uncharted 3 in terms of ****'s pretty much the same as the last game. You still shoot with the L1 and R1 triggers, throw grenades with L2, switch weapons with the D-pad, you get behind enemies to kill them silently, you resolve puzzles, you can cover, etc. But the biggest change was definitely the focus on melee combat. In previus game's i rarely used it, but in this one you are forced to do it you want to or not and heck it's the first thing you do when you start the game. So how does it **** roughly the same. You still attack with square button and avoid attacks with the triangle button, but this time is all done with quick time events and the circle button is also used in many **** you know what?, i feel like it was a change for the better since it fleshed out the combat a bit more and it also makes it more useful. So useful in fact that sometimes running to an enemy and punching him to the dead is the ideal strategy. The parkour system was also tweaked, but not in a good way. In Uncharted 2 you could move ,in many occasions, in a 3D plain (the most obvious example is the part where you climb a train), but in Uncharted 3 we don't nearly as much of that and we're back to just pressing X a few times in a 2D plain to get from one place to the next, which really limits the depth of the parkour system, Uncharted 2 got it right so...what gives?. Finally we have the ability to throw back grenades at the enemies by pressing triangle at the right moment (which really comes in handy with the tougher enemies) and that sometimes you will go throw stretch allways that...have absolutely no impact on gameplay... And...that's **** really there's pretty much no other change whatsoever. The stealth, the weapons, the partners, the aiming and just about everything else stays the same, which is disappointing, but since i didn't ***** about it in the New Super Mario Bros reviews, i'm not gonna ***** about it here, but i will say that if you just finished Uncharted 2, give this one some time because otherwise it's gonna get very repetitive and old very fast. Overall Uncharted 3 is a good game, but when you compare it to Uncharted ****'s just seems very weak both from innovative, technical, story and improvement standpoints. I still recommend it if you haven't tried it already, but play Uncharted 2 first since i consider it to be the better experience...just avoid the first one at all cost. Oh! and before i forgot, this game and the last one have multiplayer!...that i've never touched. Anyway, i'll give it an 8/10.

Star Fox Zero9
May 1, 2016
Before starting the review: IGNORE the 69 metacritic score that the "professionals" have given to this game. Star Fox Zero is awesome..., but to get to the point of the awesome you have to master an innovative control squeam that i'm sure not many people will tolerate, but if you do you are gonna have a great time. STORY: A huge monkey, called Andross, wants to conquer the Lylat system. So team Starfox, a group that consists of Peppy hare, Falco lombardi, Slippy toad and Fox MCcloud, son of James MCcloud who previously died in battle helping Peppy escape from a trap, and they are known as team Star Fox. And they are here to stop Andross. PRESENTATION: One of the complains i see come up when haters say that this game is a piece of **** is the fact that the graphics, even for a Wii U game, are bad. I do agree with the fact that this is certainly not one of the best looking games on the system, but to call it a bad looking game i feel is a bit exaggerated. Models and animations are simple, but colorful and charming. And the environments look great, with many details, colors and enemies all over the place. And also the explanation for the graphics not being better is because the game has to render and stream 2 different images in real time at 60 fps, so it's obvious that the graphics needed to be downgraded. And you might say that every Wii U game does that, yeah, but the difference here is that its 2 totally different images at same time, not 1 image that displace on the TV and Gamepad. Aside from the graphics the resolution of the game is 720p, but to compensate the game runs at a perfect 60 fps, there are some drops tho and sometimes it will drop from 50-40 fps!!, but nothing that will ruin the experience of play. And the **** i even need to say anything?. The soundtrack is amazing!!, giving the game an energetic feel and every theme is extremely well done, but i wish it was orchestrated. GAMEPLAY: The main change to the Star Fox formula that Zero brings to the table is the control. In previous games when you wanted to shoot to a specific place your arwing will go there as well, which really wasn't a big issue, but Star Fox Zero removes that since now to aim you use the Wii U Gamepad's motion controls. This is the single greatest complain i see from gamers and reviewers alike...i'm sorry but i have to disagree with them. The new controls are excellent, they will take time to master, but once you **** boy does it feel great. With this you can pull of moves manures that were impossible to do previously and it adds so much versatility to the controls. And if they ever fail to respond, you press Y to calibrate them. Not only that, but the famous moves like the Barrel Roll, used to reflect proyectiles and avoid them at the same time and the somersault (activated with the X button), used to get behind enemies and avoid attacks, help this control squeam a whole lot more. Plus this means that the second joystick is free and with it you can activate the Barrel role, but also slow down or speed up. Throughout levels you will find upgrades to your laser and ship that will last until the stage finishes, and also you will find some bombs that you shoot to completely annihilate enemies or bosses. Speaking of. Man the bosses are great, they all require a different stragetie to defeat and they all have a certain weak point, requiring you to develop a stragetie. I think my favorite ones are the Star Wolf's dog fights, they are so fun and i mean, c'mon, who doesn't like a good 101 fight?. There are many different vehicles in the game: Arwing: Your standard ship which shoots lasers and controls excellent. Walker: The transformation of the Arwing by pressing A. This one is hard to control, but you will get accustomed. Other than that, it can hover, it can hack things and it looks like a chicken!. Landmaster: A little clunky to control, but i mean, c'mon, it's a tank that can also fly!. Other than that, it's just really an Arwing on the ground that controls a lot better than the Walker. Gyrowing: It's a helicopter that can also deployed a little robot that can hack things. I feel like it controls well and it uses the controls and features of the game well. The game unfortunately takes about 3 hours to complete when you don't care about the extra modes or the different paths. But if you do, the lenght will be around 8 hours and with co-op, training and the fantastic arcade mode, which showcases the 19 different ways to complete the game, the game can last about 40 hours, specially if you want to get all the 70 medals. Finally, the game has some amiibo functionality that let's you customize your arwing, but don't worry, you can unlock the costumes by 100% the game. Overall Star Fox Zero is a great game, it has tons of replay value, excellent music, nice graphics, variety and great controls once you get accustomed to them. With that said i'll give this game a 9/10.

Super Mario Sunshine8
Apr 28, 2016
Super Mario Sunshine is to this day my only Gamecube game and one of my favorite games as a child. Now before i start i need to stress the fact that i have a bit of a nostalgia bias for Mario Sunshine, i'll try to be as objective as i can, but don't think that this review is going to be 100%...well...objective. STORY: After Mario finishes his adventure in Super Mario 64, the Princess, the Uncle Toad and Mario go on vacation, but when they arrive a strange liquid is in the middle of the landing track so Mario goes to investigate and he founds F.L.U.D.D a water-spraying-talking-jetpack-rocket-turbo-backpack that helps Mario to clean the ugly liquid, but then he gets arrested by the police, this happens because a "Shadow Mario" has been painting the entire island with "Dark Paint" and now Mario has to go clean the island and find his evil doppelganger. Something that bothers me about the plot is that the isle defino residents are complete idiots when making this decision, because for 1 Mario JUST ARRIVED from an airplane, so how can he be the one responsible?. And 2, Shadow Mario is clearly black while the real Mario is in full color. But nah, it's just an excuse to set-up the adventure is no big deal. Plus it makes a lot more sense than a character not being able to open a door even tho he has a ******* bazooka. PRESENTATION: Super Mario Sunshine looks and sounds very good by today's standards and for a Gamecube game for that matter. The character models are really well done with lots of details within them and beautiful/vibrant colors. Same goes for the animations, they are responsive, they look good and in the cutscenes (yeah this time we have cutscenes for some reason) they shine...though is not always great. The game runs at 30fps and the resolution is around 360p-480p, but c'mon it's a Gamecube game cut it some slack. In terms of music...i mean it's Mario game of course it's gonna have amazing music. The game now has a beach theme to it and the music really reflects that, with catchy songs and melodies that fit perfectly with the environments. GAMEPLAY: Super Mario Sunshine is your standard 3D connectathon platforming game. You have different worlds to explore with creative, fun levels thrown **** the most part. In each level you will have a certain objective to achieve like get from point A to point B or beat a boss, find this, get this, spray Shadow Mario a few times, collect a 100 coins, push a stupid watermelon that explodes at the slightest of wrong moves or collision, OR GET RED COINS ON A ******* **** MACHINE THAT CONTROLS LIKE **** or on a stupid lily-pad with poisonous water below you **** you get the picture. Not every level is great, some of them are pretty fun and easy, while others are unfair and hard. This content zig-zag of challenge is a bit frustrating, but with enough trial and error you will beat the stage. Each time you clear these objectives you will get a shine sprite, which are these game's power stars and there's 120 in total. The big feature of the game is F.L.U.D.D, you know the water-spraying-talking-jetpack-rocket-turbo-backpack that accompanies Mario throughout the whole adventure. F.L.U.D.D has 4 different modes that can be switched by pressing X: Spaying mode: You spray water to clean the environment or defeat the enemy. It's used pretty creatively the more you play, but it's the less interesting of the 4. Jetpack mode: The name says it all, F.L.U.D.D becomes a jetpack and it allows Mario to hover which in a platforming game is completely BROKEN. Rocket mode: This is an upgrade that you get from a box later on the game **** i even need to explain it?, F.L.U.D.D becomes a rocket and with enough charge you get blasted to the sky!!. Really fun to use. Turbo-Splash-Water-Speed-Accelerator Mode: Mario gets a huge boots of speed both on the ground and the most useful and fun site to use it: water. F.L.U.D.D can only hold 2 upgrades at a time, but the spray mode is locked, so in order to switch from one to another you will have to open certain boxes, which can get a bit tedious, but it's no big deal. To use any of these you will need to have a certain level of water, without water F.L.U.D.D is useless. However in some levels not using F.L.U.D.D is the name of the game, because Shadow Mario will take it and you will have to complete an entire platforming based level in order to get it back. These levels are really fun for the most part and they show of the incredible control this game has with or without F.L.U.D.D. The last 2 things i have to say is that: Yoshi is in the game and he controls really well with his classic flutter jump and...spray juice ****. And **** the blue coins!!, there's 240 of them and many are hidden in very cryptic places and they're just a waste of time, but they are required to complete the game 100%. Overall Super Mario Sunshine is a must own for a Gamecube owner and i'll give it an 8/10.

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves10
Apr 16, 2016
After playing the piece of **** game that was Uncharted 1 my expectations for this game were very low, thankfully i was wrong and Uncharted 2 is not only a huge, HUGE, HUGE!!! improvement over the last game, but it's also one of the best adventure games i have ever played. STORY: You start hanging on a train, you avoid death and then it goes into a flashback. After getting enormous treasure at the end of Uncharted 1, Nathan is just minding his own business when suddenly an old friend of his called Flynn offers Nathan a new "job" which consists of getting a treasure of Marco Polo in a museum with the help **** called Chloe. Eventually they do just that and find a treasure map that leads to Shambhala and the Cintamani stone, but after hearing this Flynn betrays Nathan and makes it so Nathan gets captured. Sully and Chloe get Nathan out of prison and now it's a race to see who gets the stone first. This story has a much more Indiana Jones type of feel and i love for that. PRESENTATION: Graphics are greatly improved with more colors, better models, physics, textures, lighting effects, animations and shaders, but the eyes look weird and sometimes the human models look like they're made with plastic, but aside from that there's i have nothing to complain about. Same goes for the music, since it's more memorable than last time and it fits the situation perfectly. The game runs at 720p and 30fps, but with this level of detail...i feel is justified (unlike the first game). Overall a great presentation and if i had to nitpick about it...well i did found 3 glitches in my 10 hour playthrough...that's it. GAMEPLAY: Uncharted 2 not only fixes every problem i had with the first game in this aspect, but it also adds some new stuff to make this a far better game. First of all the parkour system has been improved. Now you can move in a 3D environment while climbing, rather than just pushing X a few times to get from point A to point B on a wall. You can climb by hanging on the roofs and you can shoot while...well...climbing. You can also switch from from side to side by pressing X and you can drop down to hang on another things. The parkour system is more interesting and fun this time around thanks to all this improvements. Aiming is a lot more precise and less loose. The cover mechanic is a lot more well done, you can switch from place to place immediately while covering by pressing O while holding the analog stick and if you sneak up on a enemy, you can silently take them out with the square button. And if you do that you can steal from them a bunch weapons like some guns or grenades, that now have their own button (or trigger if you consider is on L2), which makes them a lot more convenient to use and if you press the trigger by error, just push up on the D-pad to cancel it. Melee combat is a lot faster, but still very simple. You just mash the Square button until they die and if they attack you you can press Triangle to dodge and ****...that sounds familiar...Batman Arkham Asylum anyone?. Nah but to be fair both titles did came out the same year, but Batman did came out 2 months earlier. If you defeat some enemies with the melee combat they will give their items, like riot shields or whatever. There's a lot of weapons in this game and surprisingly i found myself switching from weapon to weapon (especially at the later part of the game). Checkpoints are really abundant and fair. The quick time events are still here and they are used just like in God of War, to solve puzzles, push this, see this, see that, etc. The game has some awesome set pieces that get you so pumped and it's **** so epic. And the puzzles are still easy, but more creative. The game has incredible variety, sometimes you do puzzles, sometimes you shoot with cover, sometimes you shoot without cover, or while carrying someone, or shooting while climbing, or shooting solo, or shooting with 2-4 panthers, or running away while shooting or other times without shooting, really the differences in kind are all over the place. The partners this time get a lot more attention this time. And don't worry the AI works very well and heck they can even kill enemies. Sometimes you need them to get over that or drop something to go up, and it's really useful and fun. The only negative thing i can say is that there's a lack of bosses in this game, but i will say that this game final boss is a lot better compared to the mindless and boring quick time event boss we got last time. I don't know if i made it clear at this point, but Uncharted 2 is an incredible game. While the first game was just a big disappointment, this...this is what you call a great sequel and a great game overall and with improved mechanics like parkour, melee and shooting, great graphics, music, variety, more colors and just being outright fun. Uncharted 2 gets a 10/10 a must have for the PS3 and if the frame rate and resolution really bothers you, play it on PS4.

**** boy, where do i even begin?. When i had the age of 10 or 11 it was actually one of my favorite games and still is a lot of fun to play and i actually started a new playthrough a few moths ago and the i just...dropped it... STORY: You appear out of **** mine and attack stuff to **** END. PRESENTATION: This is usually the first thing that people bring up to critic this game and honestly i don't know why. I actually rather like this mixture between a retro-cubic-3D style of graphics and i don't think a construction game like this would've been possible without them. The music is made up of different piano pieces and i feel like they fit very well. But the one thing that this games lacks is a stable frame rate, since the graphics are so basic you would think that this would run well, right?...RIGHT?, well no, the game runs very poorly even in the lowest settings and i don't even know the resolution is on. GAMEPLAY: Minecraft is ****... Building/Combat/Platform/RPG/MMO??....i think. I don't know really what this game is really. There's 3 different modes in the single player and there's also a Multiplayer mode, but i will focus more on the Single Player since that's what i play the most in my games. The mechanics are very simple. You use the W, A, S and D keys to move and you use the mouse to face the direction you wanna go. There's 2 motions that you do in this game: Mine and place, and you use the left and right clicky things on the mouse respectably to do them. They do exactly what the sound, you mine things or hit things depending on what your mining and when you do so the block or enemy that you mined or killed respectably will drop an item that you can put in your inventory. You can have 9 items in the "Use" inventory and by pressing E you will bring up the rest of it that will allow you to have more stuff with you. Aside from that you also have 4 extra spaces to the side of your character and depending on the item and pattern that you put in those 4 spaces, you can craft something, if you do a crafting table you are able to put 9 things on the "Craft spaces" and you can create different tools, armor blocks, etc. The right clicky thing on the mouse is used to interact with different things and defend yourself with the newly implemented shield that you put on your extra slot **** **** can put anything on there so you can use both of you hands. You also the right clicky thing on the mouse to place blocks on top of other blocks and construct...pretty much anything. You have a hunger meter that depletes over time and to keep it full you will need food from animals or your own harvest, why do you need to keep it full?, well the hunger meter will refill your health when you take damage and if it depletes 100% it will hurt you and leave you with the half of your last hearth. Minecraft respects this mechanics in all of its different modes like: Survival: You have limited resources, Limited health and hunger and if you can respawn. There's 3 difficulty settings and you just...have to survive. Hardcore: In this mode the difficulty is locked to Hard and you can only die once, if you do that world will be deleted. Creative: You can fly, you can break anything, you can spawn things at pleasure and you have unlimited resources. If you came here to build stuff...this is for you. There's some enemies in this game like Zombies, that just move around and attack you, Creepers that explode if they get to close, Withes that throw potions, Esqueletos that shoot arrows, the list goes on and on. Finally there's 3 bosses in this game: The Ender Dragon which is pathetically easy. The wither which you have to build your self by putting 3 wither skeletons heads (that you get on this games other dimension, the Nether) and soul **** he is very easy too. Finally there's the Guardian, he lives underwater and he's a pain on the butt to kill. All of these bosses will give you a reward like a Dragon Egg, a Nether star and ****. Now, i can go on and on about what you can do and can't do in this game because i haven't even mentioned the different Biome, the different blocks, the different minerals, the Multiplayer, the experience **** this game is just overwhelming. I mentioned before that i dropped my game and that's because...there's too much to do and i feel that Minecraft lacks focus, plus most of the things in Minecraft requiere so much time and dedication that i just got bored. I am planing to go back to that save one day or another to finish what i was doing, but for now i have school and other games to occupy my time. Now for the **** of all the games that i reviewed so far, i haven't had so much trouble on putting a score. This is a game that really, REALLY depends on your taste for video games. Personally i really like building games so i really like Minecraft, but i feel it can be really boring at times. I'll give it a 7/10.

Super Mario Galaxy10
Apr 12, 2016
Super Mario Galaxy is not only the best game on the Wii, not only one of the best Mario games ever, not only is a unique, satisfying experience..., but it's also a lot of fun. STORY: Super Mario Galaxy starts with Peach sending a letter to Mario, telling him to come to the castle, and Mario then going to the castle. Apparently in the mushroom kingdom they're celebrating the Star Festival, which happens 100 years betwen the newest and the oldest. Well the celebration doesn't last for long, since Bowser comes out of nowhere and kidnaps the Prince's, but not in the traditional way, ooooh no instead he calls a giant U.F.O, destroys the terrain around the castle and brings it to space. Mario tries to go rescue, but namek, the evil koopa wizard, shoots Mario with his Magic projectile and sends him into outer space. Fortunately Mario lands in a friendly planet and encounters this Floating-Star and he plays Hide and seek with **** and the Floating Stars transform into bunny. After catching all the Bunny Stars, they point Mario to a building where he founds Rosalina, pretty much the God of the Mario Universe and the "Mother" of the Lumas (The floating stars that transformed into Bunnies), who explains that he needs to find the Maxi-Stars and Power-Stars that Bowser stael out of them from the their "Spaceship" called the Planetarium. Rosalina gives Mario a new spin-ability to get back one Maxi-star and Mario does just that. Mario and the star go to the Planetarium and Rosalina asks Mario to go and get more, so the planetarium can run again and get the power necessary to save Princess Peach. PRESENTATION: Super Mario galaxy takes great advantage of the Wii's power. While the console is not as powerful as the PS3 or Xbox 360, but Nintendo took good use of what they had at hand and as a result ,Super Mario Galaxy is one of the best looking and preforming games of the system. The smooth 60fps, the saturated colors, the models, everything is great. The **** i even need to say anything?, this music is AMAZING!!, it has everything: it's catchy, fits perfectly with the environments, it rarely loops and the instrumentation is done (for the most part) with a full on orchestra and it just sound awesome. GAMEPLAY: Super Mario Galaxy is a 3D gravity based collectathon platformer game. Now for anyone who is not familiar with the term "Collectathon", it basicly means a game where you go around a certain map collecting things and completing certain objectives. Games like Banjo-kazooie, Super Mario 64, Donkey Kong 64 and this game, are good examples of this. The main feature that this game brings to the table is gravity based platformer. It behaves just like is sounds, you can move in a 360º space and you can go above or below the places that you explore. There are some places were depending on where your are, you will go up or down (mostly in 2D places). The camera angles complement this new feature and very few times it will give you any problems. Another thing that Galaxy brings is the motion controls. There are many different level gimmicks around the Wiimote and i really enjoy them, i never had any major control issues and most of the are very simple to use like: point this, control that or shake the controller to do the spin **** speaking of... To make the platforming in this game a lot more deep, we have the spin attack. It can be used to attack enemies and do a homing jump on them, but the main thing about the move is that it can be used along with the normal jump, long jump, somersault, crouch jump, every jump! to get some extra air time and altitude and believe me it doesn't sound like much, but when you are playing the game this becomes very useful and a lifesaver at times. To complete a stage you have to grab the powestar that you get by completing a certain mission and there's 120 stars in total. Some of them are very simple like getting from point A to point B or finding this specific thing on the map, but to get more variety, you also have things like race to the finish against your shadow counterpart or with a bunch of penguins, we also get some comets here and there that grant you things like collect 100 purple coins, beat the stage in a time limit or with incremental speed you know stuff like that. We also have some new power ups like the bee suit that allows you to hover or the ghost one that allows you to cross certain walls, but you lose them by touching water and light respectively. The fire flower is also back, but with a strange time limit, and the starman is back to, no super mushroom sadly, but it's because Mario has a health bar this time, but you do have this other one that gives you 6 hit points instead of 3 and then we have the Ice Flower which allows you to go over water...that's it. In conclusion Super Mario Galaxy is a fun and very replayable title that any Wii or Wii U owner must have in their shelf. I'll give it a 10/10

God of War III10
Apr 9, 2016
When i played God of War III 2 years ago i thought it was a very abridge game, but when i sat down, put the controller in my hands and played it from beginning to end 2 years after that...i think i was too quick in my decision...THIS is the BEST God of War game there has ever been. STORY: God of War III begins right where God of War II left off, with the Titans climbing Mount of Olympus (And no that is not a Spoiler at this point because ,c'mon, it's been almost 10 years since God of War II launched). When the God's notice this, they all go attack the Titans. Poseidon ,specifically, goes for Gaia, which is the one holding Kratos. After a very cool boss battle and epic tutorial. Poseidon gets killed by Kratos and from there on out your journey to Zeus begins. PRESENTATION: The jump from the PS2 to the PS3 is incredibly clear. This game competes with Uncharted 2 for best looking game on the console and it definitely shows what the PS3 is capable of. Not only has the Models and animations have improved, but this time the focus where on the lightning effects. Everything projects light in here. From the Blades of Kratos, to the orbs, to even the chests themselves. The environments are incredible to look at and the music, once again, helps the atmosphere of the game and when things get tense the music follows. My only 2 nitpicks with the presentation is that for one, the game runs at 720p instead of 1080p (probably to get a smooth frame rate without sacrificing the graphics) and 2 of the models **** to me. And those two are both Gaia and Pandora. Gaia is good for the most part, but i don't like her baby eyes and puppet mouth and Pandora just look derpy as all ****. But aside from those nitpicks the presentation is pretty sweet. GAMEPLAY: God of War III doesn't reinvent the wheel for the God of War formula or anything, but it does take everything that made God of War II so incredibly fun and adds some little improvements that just make it overall more strong. Little things like making the walls fights and pushing stuff more faster just removes some little annoyingness from the previous games. The ability to rotate stuff at will, dropping to the bottom of ledges, collect 3 eyes, phoenix feathers and the new miniatur horns instead of 5, or being able to approach your enemies with your blades make the game just a lot more fluid. And speaking of fluid, the combat system ,for the most part, has remain untouched. You still have your light and heavy attacks, the block button, the magic button and this time they added a new element, the items. Which leads me to: Main weapon: Blades of Exile: The weapon that you will use all the time. You do combos with it and it contains The Army of Sparta. Sub Weapons: Claws of Hades: This functions just like the Blades of Exile, aldo i do feel like they are a bit faster. However it does give a Magic ability named "Soul Summon" that i will explain on the magic abilities part. Nemean Cestus: You get this things from Hercule and man they hit HARD, you can punch the **** out of your enemies and you can break certain blue rocks with it. Nemesis Whip: Just like the Blades of Exile, but you can hold down the button to do multiple hits. Magic abilities: The Army of Sparta: Your new ability. A bunch of shields come in and trust the enemies with a bunch of spears. Blade of Olympus: This time is not used as a weapon, this time is the replacement of the rage of the titans, this time being the Rage of Sparta, and it functions in a very similar way with Kratos getting a boost of speed and strength under a time limit that you refill by hitting enemies and collecting "yellow orbs". Soul Summon: When you get the Claws of Hades, you'll get this ability that allows you to spawn Souls from creatures that will fight for you. Nemean Roar: You punch the ground and a big wave hurts everyone in range. Items: Bow of Apollo: It's a **** shoot things, but this time you can charge it to burn stuff and it has its own bar so it doesn't take magic away...that's nice. Head of Helios: This will allow you to illuminate certain areas to see better and find secrets. Oh! and it also uses the same bar of Apollo's Bow. Boots of Hermes: This Boots will allow you to dash into enemies, run on walls and dash in the air. And it also uses the same bar as the Bow and Helios head Like you read, the items have a different bar from the magic and each magic is now locked to a specific weapon, but let's be honest, you will use the Blades of Exile and Nemean Cestus and nothing more. In previous games, sub-weapons weren't really useful, however here they putted some extra functionalities to them like burn plant with the Bow of Apollo or break blue rocks with Nemean Cestus to make them more useful and have better creativite with the Puzzles (and they do). Overall God of War III deserves that 92 metacritic score and i definitely recommended it to any PS3 user. I'll give it a 10/10.

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze10
Apr 4, 2016
Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze, oh boy, this game is great, there is nothing more to say. STORY: While DK is celebrating his birthday, some penguins that are Vikings decide to conquer DK island by summoning a giant ice dragon that comes out of ****...instrument that i can't remember the name, but i think is a horn, and the the kong are sent flying to the sky. Then the ship of the penguins fly to position themselves on top of the mountain and freeze the entire **** the story is ridiculous but in a game like this you should not expect an epic story so let's go the presentation. PRESENTATION: Colorful, well animated, great environments, 60fps, 1080p, fantastic music. Need i say more? GAMEPLAY: DKCTF plays like your typical DKC game, you can jump, roll, run, pick up things, etc, but now unlike in returns you get to pick between Dixie Kong, Cranky and diddy to have as your buddy along the adventure, but you still can't play as them unless you are playing multiplayer or hard mode. Each of this kong buddy's offer some new things to the table, diddy can let you hover for a bit, dixie gives you extra time in the air and Cranky can use his stick to bounce in pretty much everything, but to be honest no one but dixie is important, believe me when you play this game, you can tell that Dixie is BROKEN. The level design is top notch, unlike games like kirby or new super mario bros, where you can feel that the levels are created artificially with blocks (which is not a bad thing, i mean it works, but...), every level in this game feels natural and it nevers let's you say "why is this here?", the environments are great and have such an atmosphere that is just sooooo good and every level has 2 type of collectables that you can find in bonus rooms or in the level itself, first we have the puzzle pieces which can unlock concept art and the letters K, O, N, G, which if you collect in every world, you can unlock super hard levels. There are also some sections of minecarts and rockets that are actually pretty fun to play and not tediously frustrating. One thing that is a let down are animal buddies, once again only rambi returns as a playable buddy, and that is pretty sad. Oh and another thing that this game does great are the bosses, all of them are super fun to fight and when you beat you can give the a BANAAAAA SLAMA!!!. Overall this game is the best 2D platformer the Wii U, the music is great, the bosses are great, the levels are great, the graphics are great, and it's just a blast to play, tho this game is not for casuals, since this game is pretty freaking difficult, but if you like a good challenge then this game has you covered, with that said i'll give this game a 10/10

Super Mario 3D Land8
Apr 4, 2016
Super Mario 3D Land was the first 3D Mario game in a handheld (i'm not counting Super Mario 64 DS because that's technically a port) and the result was the first killer app for the 3DS system. STORY: Bowser kidnaps Princess **** and the raccoon leafs from Super Mario Bros 3 are here. PRESENTATION: For a launch title for the 3DS Super Mario 3D Land still holds up pretty well. The models look like they were ripped from the console games (even tho there's some pixelation, but that's to be expected from the 3DS) and the animation, while simplistic, it's appalling and functional. All the environments look bright, colorful and well done. The music is very memorable and catchy, and the familiar sound effects are there. Overall there's not much else to say, it's a great presentation that looks even better with the 3D on. GAMEPLAY: Super Mario 3D Land is your typical Mario game and what i mean by that is aside from the new power ups, levels (which are very fun to play) and music, there's really nothing we haven't seen before. It's clear that Nintendo wanted to play safe on this one and leave all the new, polished and original for 3D world. But that's not to say that the game is bad, oh no quite opposite. 3D land still has the great levels, power ups, music, graphics and humor that the series is known for, nevertheless i wished that for the next 3D mario game on a handheld, we get some new and interesting ideas. But enough of that, let's go through this real quick. Mario can run, jump, wall jump, somersault and long jump just like he did before, but the last 2 techniques are not very helpful in this game. Mario still gets killed in 1 hit so you will need a power up like the returning mushroom, fire flower, the returning tanooki leaf (which allows Mario to slowly descend and to a spin attack) and star to get an extra hit, but this time we get a brand new power up, the boomerang flower, this allows you to throw a boomerang to kill enemies and collect star coins. If you get 2 power up at a time, you can store them in the touch screen and with a simple touch the power up will appear. If you paid attention you might notice that i said "star coins", yep they are back and they function just like in New Super Mario Bros, theres 3 of them in each stage and you will need a specific number to unlock certain stages and the final level. In the end, even tho it doesn't reinvent the wheel, Super Mario 3D Land is a fun worthwhile title that any 3DS owner needs to have. Great levels, graphics, music, power ups, etc. Super Mario 3D Land gets an 8/10.

God of War II10
Apr 3, 2016
God of War II, just like many other sequels, improves and polishes everything that worked in the first game, while also making the worst aspects of the original much, much better. STORY: The story begins where the first one left off. Kratos, now being the new God of war, is just sitting in his God throne, when suddenly he decides to destroy the city of Sparta, Athena tries to stop Kratos, since every time he destroys another city, the Gods become more and more angry. Kratos refuses Athena's warning and when he starts to rekt **** up, an eagle comes from the sky and reduces Kratos's size and gives life to a giant statue. Eventually Kratos, after damaging the colossus multiple times, Zeus gives him the Blade of Olympus in order to destroy the colossus, but to that Kratos had to put all of his Godly powers into the Blade, making him mortal again. After defeating the colossus Kratos gets injured from the giant hand that fell on him and the eagle appears which turns out to be Zeus. Who after having a brief talk with Kratos, proceeds to kill him, but then Kratos escapes from hell ,with the advice of the Titan Gaia, and goes after The Sisters of Faith to go back in time and kill Zeus. PRESENTATION: God of War II looks amazing even by today's standards. Every model, every animation, every detail, everything looks great and with the HD makeover of the PS3 (which was the way i played it), it looks even better. The cutscenes also look great, while the "in game visual cutscenes" look pixelated, the pre-render ones still look gorgeous. And don't even get me on the music, most of the soundtrack is just to enhance the ambience, the rest are memorable, great songs that will prepare you to face Zeus 101. Since i played this on the PS3, not only the game is in HD, but the frame rate was also improved with a much more consistent 60fps than in the PS2 version. The presentation is solid and aside from some nitpicks, i really don't have anything to complain about, it's a definitive improvement from the original in every single way. GAMEPLAY: However a great story and presentation don't make a great game (in the majority of cases), that core will always be the gameplay, so let's see what God of War II has to offer. Just like its predecessor, God of War II is a hack and slash were you beat the **** out of every single thing that comes in your way (and it makes you feel like a badass). Combat remains pretty much the exact same, you still do combos to wipe out enemies, you have a light attack, a heavy attack, a block button, a grab button, a jumping button, a magic button, the rolling and the weapons and abilities that you get thought the way like: Athena's Blades: This is your main weapon and the one that you will have throughout the entire game and it can be upgraded a total of 5 times. Spear of destiny: This is one of your sub-weapons, it's a little bit more fast, but with less range, meh, i don't really use it that much. Barbarian Hammer: This is another sub-weapons, it's slow, but **** it's not very useful. Head of Euryale: Converts enemies into rocks, something i did a grand total of 2 times in the entire game. Atlas Quake: You do 2 big stomps to the ground and it can be upgraded to throw rocks, not very helpful in my opinion. Cronos rage: This is the replacement that we get of Poseidon's rage, you can do a chain of thunder attacks, which is very helpful and the best ability in y opinion. Typhon's Bane: The replacement of Zeus's fury and It's a Bow. Icarus Wings: This will allow you to glide. Rage of the titans: This is the replacement of Spartans rage from the original game and it functions pretty much the same, it transforms Kratos into a unstoppable killing machine and it's pretty much God mode (pun totally intended) and it can be replenished by killing enemies and finding the new yellow orbs. You also get a piece of armor that deflects enemy attacks and an amulet that can slow down time. Once again you can upgrade the abilities with the red orbs that you get from chests and killing enemies and the blue and green variation is back to replenish your magic and life respectively, you find this ones on chests and you can upgrade your life and magic by finding the gargoyle's eyes and phoenix feathers. My main complain of GOW 1 where the lazy, bad puzzles, well i'm happy to report that his is no longer the case, the puzzles are a lot better and there's a lot more variety this time around than just dragging a box to a certain place. Oh and the Bosses are also great, requiring stragetie, patients, skill and clever use of the weapons at your disposal. In conclusion God of War II is a must own for any PS2 or PS3 owner, the graphics, the music, the bosses, the puzzles, the variety, the story, absolutely everything is great and improved from the original, making it, in my opinion, the BEST God of War game ever made. i'll give it a 10/10

Angry Video Game Nerd II: ASSimilation10
Mar 31, 2016
Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures II: ASSimilation (just rolls right off your tongue) is not only a HUGE! improvement from the first game, but also one of the best retro-style games i've ever played. STORY: The story, like always, is very ridiculous and for a game like this it fits perfectly. It was a peaceful and normal day in the world, when suddenly a giant beam from outer space transforms the whole world into a ***** game and it's up to the nerd to save the world!!, however it won't be easy since the Nostalgia Critic also wants to be the hero and he has scattered all the nerds stuff through out all the levels and it's up to the Nerd to fix this ****load of ****. PRESENTATION: The first thing you'll notice right away is the game's incredible graphics improvement, now there are little effects all over the place, like little blurs on the side of the screen, lighting effects and a much greater color pallet. On top of that we also get (again) and amazing and kick-*** soundtrack that fits with every level and it actually feels like an improvement from the first game. Also, the game is now much more fluid that the first game and this is no more apparent than in the nerds animation. The presentation is a great improvement over its predecessor and it's definitely one of the best things about the game. GAMEPLAY: AVGN Adventures 2 brings very important changes that make the original game look obsolete. First there's the most obvious one, the wall jump from Megaman X. This thing is amazing, it controls beautifully and the game makes very clever challenges around it and if you want to beat this game, you will have to become the master of parkour. The second change is that you can now actually swim, it's only used in 1 world, but it provides new possibilities for level design and challenges that the first game couldn't do. The third improvement is that well, remember when i said that the Nostalgia Critic hide all the Nerd's stuff all around the levels, well this "stuff" are actual weapon and armor upgrades which include: The glove of power (or the Power Glove): this allows the nerd to eliminate enemies faster with a punch and that same punch can be used to break certain walls to find 1-ups, or beers (which ones again function like your lives and health bar respectively) or... The Turbo Pad (or the NES Turbo controller): this allows the nerd to charge his projectile. Then we have the Cape (or Power Pad): It allows the nerd to glide. Then there's the Uber Scope (or the Super Scope): Which...,makes your proyectiles stronger?...i don't know i personally didn't feel a difference. The final upgrade on our list is the Swear'N'Scout (or The Konami Laser Scope): This allows the nerd to see and walk through invisible blocks and find hidden lives and beers, that's nice. Oh and the sub-weapons are still here, through the Glitch Gremlin and Mechadeadcrist are gone now :(, but hey now we get the more useful rocks and another that refills your beers. Each upgrade is hidden through out one of the 3 levels of the 5 world, oh wait that's right i didn't mentioned it!, there's actually a world map now with a total of 22 levels to complete. And speaking of the ****, this is some of the most fun levels i have played in a while. Each level does something new and that "new thing" perfectly matches with the world's theme, plus the level design is a lot stronger this time, with less death blocks and a more fair challenge, plus every level aside from the upgrades also has a N-E-R-D words that you will have to find in order to get the good ending and an ****! that's right, this game also has different endings. Also now every level doesn't have a boss at the end, but rather the bosses of this game their own stage at the end of each world, which i feel like it was a change for the better, since in the last game you will very rarely get to a boss with more than 10 lives, so this time they give more chances ****, this bosses are some of the most creative, difficult and fun bosses i have ever defeated, each one has a specific pattern and strategy to defeat. I won't go in much detail, but i'll live it at this: Vampire-Werewolf-Ghost-Knight. Every time you beat a level the game will refill your lives so you don't have to get a Game Over to do that and i mean c'mon they pretty much fix almost everything wrong with the last game and i say almost, because i still have some nitpicks: first, it would be nice to have a hold-down option to not have to hammer the shoot button and it is a little disappointing that they removed the multiple character system (but i feel like the upgrade system makes up-for it). And that's pretty much it, aside from the nitpicks this is a really awesome game that anyone should play, it may not be a very long game (i beat it in 5:30hrs), but the game kicks so much *** that it's just worth it. Great graphics, music, level design, bosses, upgrades, all of these things makes a 10/10 game.

Professor Layton VS Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney6
Mar 26, 2016
As a fan of the Phoenix Wright and Professor Layton games this not only is a big disappointment, but it also ****'s just move on. STORY: The story begins with a girl named Espella who is escaping from a bunch of black-flying-red-eye-creatures in car controlled by (insert the name of the guy i don't remember), eventually they end up in a car accident and the man tells Espella to look for Professor Layton, meanwhile Phoenix and Maya are visiting London...because of Attorney reasons. Eventually Espella finds Professor Layton and tells him all what happend + the fact that the black-flying-red-eye-creatures were actually witches, of course the Professor doubts about her testimony until his apprentice Luke let's one of the Witches get in the room and capture Espella, then they find her and send her into a boat and the Professor and Luke get trapped in a book, a crime occurs, Phoenix defends Espella, "Not Guilty", Phoenix and Maya get trapped in the book as **** god. I don't know how to explain it, but this story feels...bland, at no point does the story actually gets entreteining and on top of the main story, since this is also an Ace Attorney game, we also get uninteresting, boring, cliche and distracting mini-stories that are nowhere near as great as the normal Ace Attorney games. My biggest gripe with the type of way that they delivered the story is with the combining of the main stories of Professor Layton and the mini-stories of Ace Attorney, they tried their best to make it work, but this combination doesn't work at all and is one of the reasons mini-stories are MINI-STORIES!!!, you can't have this type of important stories on their own right with a main story because they distract from the point of the game, you can technically say that that's not true since side-quest do exist, but the difference there is that those are optional and don't distract from the main story, but here they just distract and i would of prefered the game having a main story and using the courtroom segments to reinforce that plot instead of creating an unimportant one. On top of that we have the characters, now i didn't mentioned the characters in my Ace Attorney review because many of them while important in their mini-stories, they really weren't important in the game as a whole, but i did mentioned that all of them were excellent in terms of design, personality, backstories and even names (this holds true for Professor Layton as well), but here is the complete opposite, aside from the main 4 we only get 3 remotely interesting characters, Espella, Sir Zacharias Barnham (the prosecutor or Inquisitor) and the High Inquisitor, every other character is bland, generic and not memorable overall, i mean ,do you remember Kira? i'm sure i don't, there is certainly no Ben & Trilo or Luke Atmey here. PRESENTATION: In this game they decided to go for a 3D look and it's actually pretty good, they translated every animation and added some new one's to the characters and many of the models look very nice and i actually prefer the model of Phoenix in this game over the one in Dual Destinies, but that's just me. The music is very nice, tho i feel like it doesn't live up to both series, but it's still a good soundtrack overall, the backgrounds are also very well done and another thing that is great is the cutscenes, which are done in a clean anime style that looks very nice. But not everything is perfect, the animations can get stiff at times, the framerate also stutters when there's too many characters on screen and the **** the expressions of the characters were one of the things that i most enjoyed in the Ace Attorney games, but here every character when they get contradicted just put a "surprise" face and jumps back a little bit, that is soooooooo lame and boring, they ****** up something that i really enjoyed and that's just...uggh. The presentation is overall not as strong as the standards of either series, but i still consider it a decent presentation. GAMEPLAY: The gameplay is a mix between the courtroom segments of Ace Attorney and the Puzzles of Layton. In the Layton part you explore the overworld finding puzzles to resolve in different ways, you also find evidence and coins that you use to get clues in the puzzles or the courtrooms, which resolves the problem of getting stucked and in the courtroom parts you find contradictions in witnesses testimonies and use the evidence to point out the contradictions and press them to get more information, you might notice that i'm using plural sentences and that's because the biggest addition to the courtrooms is that you can interrogate multiple witnesses at once, but this only means that they will contradict themselves anyway so i don't see the point. Overall this is the weakest game of both series and a decent presentation doesn't save it from mediocrity, this is game i will never touch again. i'll give it a 6/10.

God of War (2005)8
Mar 25, 2016
God of War is a great hack and slash, that any PS2 or PS3 owner should play. STORY: The story follows Kratos, a spartan warrior that killed his own family because the God Ares tricked him to do it. This causes Kratos to have nightmares every day of his life and to get rid of does nightmares he assists the Gods of Olympus and he will do anything that they say in exchange of losing those horrible nightmares. PRESENTATION: For a PS2 game God of War looks very nice, the models, animations and backgrounds look very good for a PS2 game and if you play it on the PS3 (like i did) the HD treatment helps the look of the game by a massive amount. The voice acting isn't bad either and the framerate (at least in the PS3 version) is very consistent, not to mention the fantastic soundtrack. God of War presentation is very solid, well done and for a PS2 game, it still holds pretty well by today's standards. GAMEPLAY: God of War is a Hack and Slash, which roughly translates to: Beat the ever living **** out of anything that stands in your way!!!. This game makes you feel like a badass and that is no more apparent that in the first level where you (no joke) impale a giant 3 headed hydra into the pole of a ship and the rest of the game follows suit. In God of War your main weapon is the Chaos Blades, but along the way you will get different weapons from the different Gods. Every time you defeat a Boss, an enemy or pretty much any destructible object, you will get what i call "red souls", you use this to upgrade your different weapons and there are other types of ·souls like the green variation which replenishes your health and the blue variation which replenishes the magic bar that you use to do certain special attacks that the Gods give you along the way. I mentioned that you can upgrade your weapons and abilities, but i didn't mention that you can also extend your life and magic meters by **** balls and ****..., you find this things in chests and when you collect enough of them your life or magic will increase. Oh man, all of these and i haven't even mentioned the 4 main components of God of War. Let's knock out the easy one first: **** explore places...with some platforming and mini-fights thrown in for good measure. Is also here where you can find checkpoints, the only way to save your game. Boss Battles: These fights are great, they are all different in terms of pattern, strategy and strength, the 2 things that all of them have in common is that they always have a quick time event and the fact that they are soooooooooo much fun. Puzzles: In my opinion this is one of the game's flaws because these puzzles are not only easy, bland and uninspired, but 70-80% of them are just: drag an item to a certain place and rarely do they have variety. Fighting: This is the best part of the game, you basically do combinations with the square and triangle buttons to do many different combos and block incoming attacks with the um....block button, but with your different weapons and upgrades the variety is throw the roof and there is nothing more satisfying than grabbing a guy and separating him in 2 pieces!!!. Overall God of War is a great game with amazing music and graphics (for the PS2), very good story, fun boss battles, incredible variety, genius fighting system and while the puzzles may not be that great, they serve to mix things up in order for the game to not get repetitive. With that said God of War gets an 8/10.

Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe7
Mar 19, 2016
Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe in my opinion is a good , but somewhat flawed game. STORY: MK vs DC does something pretty unique in the fighting game genre. Instead of having one straightforward story, there's 2 different viewpoints on how the story progress. There's the MK side and the DC side, each one having a different vision on the events, but both tell the same story. Both sides start the same way. Superman and Raiden are just finishing off the main villains of their respective universes, Shao Kahn and Darkseid, and somehow both raiden and superman synchronize themselves to "eliminate" both Shao Kahn and Darkseid, while both of them are standing in a portal which somehow fuses both of them to create 1 single being...Dark Kahn...haha. When this happens a force called rage starts taking over the villains and the heroes of each universe and this causes for both universes to slowly but surely...fuse. Ok there are obviously a lot of conveniences in this plot and while this may annoy some **** i personally don't mind, but this story is not strong by any means. PRESENTATION: In terms of presentation MK vs DC looks pretty decent for a 7th gen 2008 game and it actually did some things that would later be reused for MK9. For example, the character clothing will break while the battle is progressing. This is a really cool detail and when you are playing the game it looks very nice. The backgrounds are well done, same goes for the character models, the 60 fps are there, the music is good, overall is a really solid presentation..., but (and this is a big one) one of the key defining things that MK is known for is the violence, but in this game the use of blood is severely reduced and they did something to the fatalities that i really didn't like, but aside from that the presentation is very good. GAMEPLAY: MK vs DC set some of the basics that MK9 would improve upon, like the speed, which is very well balanced, but i feel like the characters feel a little floaty. One of the main mechanics is the rage mechanic, by dealing and taking damage a bar will fill up and when is full you can go into a super rage mode where you take little damage and your strength is increased for a short period of time. Another cool thing are what i call "Attack and Defend moments". Like the name suggest, in some moments of the fight you will have to do 1 of 3 things usually involved with attacking and defending. One of them is "Close Kombat", when this happens both fighters will have to press buttons and when the attacking player picks a different button than the other fighter, he will do damage, but if both fighters pick the same button, the defending player will counter attack, this is a really cool feature. Another one is "Falling Kombat", in certain stages you will be able to knock your opponent out of the stage and start a freefall kombat, this follows the same rules of "Close Kombat", but here instead of counterattacking, the places of the attacking player and the defending players will be switched and on top of that, there's a meter that will fill up the more you punch the other fighter and when it's full the attacking player can do a special move to brutally send the other fighter to the ground, this is a really awesome addition. And the 3rd one is what i call "Wall attack", the attacker will take the other fighter and smack him into some walls, whether or not you deal damage depends on which fighter mashes the buttons faster, this one is not as cool as the other ones, but it is satisfying. You obviously have the typical modes like: Arcade, Story, challenges, training, online, extras and so on and so forward (tho it would be nice to get a few more modes because this game is really lacking in content). The special and normal moves are there, there's 22 characters to play with and the **** pathetic, for one thing only the dc villians and the mk characters will have fatalities, while the heroes will have heroic brutalities (which totally ****!!) and on top of that the actual fatalities are a complete joke, barely any of them have blood and the gore and violence have been incredibly reduced, only one fatality comes to mind when discussing violence in this game (that would actually be reused in MK9), the joker's fatality. In the end Mortal Kombat vs DC universe is a good game with decent graphics, good music, well thought mechanics, censored violence, convenient story, great characters and more, but i feel like it's crushed in so many ways by MK9 and MKX that the only reason to buy it, is if you are a hardcore Mortal Kombat fan, but it did come up with some ideas that would later be reused in MK9 so i'll give it that. So with that said i'll give Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe a 7/10.

Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures8
Mar 19, 2016
After finally completing The Angry Video Game Adventures for the first time i can only ****. STORY: The plot of AVGN Adventures goes like this: One day the Nerd and his friends were playing a ***** game, when suddenly the TV **** them in, the nerd tries to escape, but he gets grabbed by the sack and he enters Game Land to complete 9 levels and find out who the **** is responsible for this. PRESENTATION: AVGN Adventures, like many other games, looks like an old retro-NES-SNES-game and by that i mean that the game has a mixture between 8 and 16 bits type graphics and sound (all tho you could argue with 32 bits for the sound, but that's besides the point). The sprites and backgrounds are well done and detailed, the framerate is consistent (at around 60fps) and the music ¡is kick-***!, everything in this game looks colorful, eye catching and different from one and other. GAMEPLAY: AVGN Adventures plays like a 2D platforming shooter from the NES era with a very high difficulty. You platform around and shoot the enemies with the NES Zapper to progress and you can get upgrades or sub-weapons to add to your arsenal. The game has 4 Characters to play with and each of them has some especial attribute, tho you do have to find the other characters. First there's "The Nerd", which is my personal favorite, he's the most balanced character of them all with a decent run speed, a decent jump high and he does decent damage, BUT! he is the only character who can use the upgrades and sub-weapons + he can stand in place and shoot in 8 directions, he is personally my character of choice most of the time. Then there's the "The Guitar Guy", he might seem like an awful character at first since he cannot use any sub-weapon or upgrade, he can only fire straight forward and he's jump is ****, BUT! he is the fastest of the bunch and his proyectiles can go through walls, proyectiles and barriers and believe me that doesn't sound like much, but he is very useful later on, especially on the final boss. Next there's "************ Mike", he has decent run speed and his weapon has a little range, BUT! he can use that weapon to destroy certain walls and he can jump the highest. And then theres "********-Man", he is the slowest of the bunch and he's jump is TERRIBLE, BUT he's the strongest and he can do a "not-so-helpful-double-jump", personally i never used him, and i feel he's the worst of all the characters. You find these hidden characters (excluding the Nerd) by using the abilities that each of them have. Now while the game does have all of those characters, they are actually not required to beat the game. YEAH every level was designed in a way so you can complete all of them with just the Nerd, but while this is true, certain parts of the levels will be a **** ton easier if you have a buddy along with you, so keep that in mind. Speaking of the levels, the level design, for the most part, is pretty good...that's all i can say about it. This is certainly good level design, but i feel like sometimes got lazy when designing some parts of the levels. Each level has some sort of gimmick in them, but aside from that each level plays pretty much the same way. One of the things that this game loves to throw you is death blocks (pretty self-explanatory), there's like a bizillion of them throughout the game and the placement can be very brutal at times. The levels have some very fun set pieces and creative enemies (tho some of them are just re-skins of other enemies). Overall the level design for the most part is really good, but there are some parts that are designed to anger you AND OMG they succeed. The game is hard, in a Castlevania, Ninja Gaiden, Zelda II, Megaman type of way. Now don't worry it's not as hard as any of those, but some of them can make say the phrases that the nerd says every time you die. But quite frankly only 2 of the 9 levels legitimately angered me and by the 2-3-4-6-8 playthrough of the **** wasn't that bad and i felt like most of my deaths were fair and even if you feel like you are having a hard time, the game has different difficulty levels. I recommend normal mode for your first playthrough, it gives you 30 lives and 3 beers (which are this game life bar) and even in the highest difficulty, there are a lot of checkpoints throughout each stage. At the end of every level there's a Boss which will require a different strategy to defeat and you will have to memorize the patterns in order to beat them, tho some of them are very easy. The game has a lot of references to the Angry Video Game Videos and any AVGN fan (like me) will feel right at home with the over abundance of references, jokes and even cameos from other youtubers and enemies of the Nerd. So overall with great graphics, music, bosses, characters, controls, decent level design, references and much more, Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures gets and 8/10. Definitely worth your **** i can't wait for the sequel!!!.

The Order: 18863
Feb 29, 2016
**** Order 1886, this game was one of the biggest disappointments of 2015 for many people, it was presented as THE PS4 exclusive and in the end...well, let's just start. STORY: The Order 1886 is one of the few games that i have ever played that the story is told so badly, so very poorly explained and just all around confusing, that i never understood what was this story about, so i can't tell anything about it. Let's put it this way: the game has a beginning, a climax, but no resolution!, the story doesn't end, we are left with many unfinished and unanswered things that the game introduced that just never get resolved. On top of that while the world that the game sets-up is interesting, the characters are not and the game is filled with so many cliches that make this story just so dreadful to witness that after the "ending", you will feel ripped-off. PRESENTATION: The Order's presentation is the best thing about the, but it still has it's problems. First of, the game is locked at 30fps which for a supposed "new generation" is a complete rip-off, not only that, but the game also doesn't run at 1080p, so the only way the developers figure out how to make up for this problems is to put 2 giant black bars on the screen that take up 30-40% of the screen (no joke). The music ,just like arkham knight is only used for atmosphere, which makes it very forgettable. On the other hand, the graphics do look pretty sweet, BUT just like many other games, for some reason that i don't know they, once again sacrificed the color pallet for no reason (paradox), this leads to somethings looking very obscure and as a result some times you can't see where you're going because the game it's too ******* dark. Oh and there's Grey EVERYWHERE!!, not black because that color is not on the ps4's color pallet, but GREY!...GREY!!!. Plus the over amount of cutscenes make this game pretty ******* boring to play, this is more of a movie than a game, there's 127! minutes of cutscenes and 4 out of the 16 chapters are just you watching the "game"! and it's not like they're cutscenes of 1-2 minutes, NO! there's more than 4 cutscenes that are 10 minutes long!. On top of that you can't skip cutscenes! not even on repeated playthroughs (if you even want to play this **** more than 1 time), why? you may ask, simple! the game would be 4 hours long without them...that's great!, isn't it? GAMEPLAY: I'm not gonna bother to explain how the gameplay mechanics work, because it's just more of the same **** that we've seen over and over again (Gears of War gameplay), instead i'm going to say the "new" stuff that it has. The game has a parkour system that (no joke) is the exact same as the one that uncharted 1-2-3 have!, also the game has a "slow down" feature, but the game never tells you that, so basically all we have left is the incredible amount of quicktime events (if you even consider it as a positive), the semi-decent variety of weapons and the "recover" mechanic...when you are almost gonna die you press triangle and X a few times to stand up (That's it). This game really has nothing going for it and the gameplay gets very repetitive and boring very fast and that's just sad. In conclusion The Order 1886 is a BAD title that deserves every single amount of criticism that it gets, because the only thing that the game has, to save it from the 1 is the graphics, but even does have it's problems since there are a number of low-res textures. So what we are left with is a game with a confusing and underdeveloped plot, repetitive gameplay, short length, no replay value, forgettable "music", cliché characters, 2 hours of cutscenes, unoriginal ideas, over amounts of quicktime-events and dull "new" gimmicks. With that said i'll give The Order 1886 a 3/10. Oh and did i mentioned that the 2 bosses that the game has are the exact same?.

Super Mario Maker10
Feb 27, 2016
Super mario maker is a deep game, with millions of levels to play, different graphics, incredible editor and many fun little things that make this game a beast **** and something you just NEED to have in your wii u, it's a "must own". STORY:......I ****'s an level editor, how is there going to be a story?. Unless you count the 100 mario challenge wich is basicly: Save **** END PRESENTATION: This game has different types of graphics when you play depending on what style of mario you want to build, there's the original 1985 Super Mario Bros, the 1989 Super Mario Bros 3, the 1991 Super Mario World and the 2012 New Super Mario Bros U. Each of these have their unique style and look, so i can't really describe them, but what i can describe is the interface, which is very intuitive and easy to use, ANYONE can play this game and feel comfortable using the creation tools and listening to all the classic mario themes with 1080p and 60fps on their TV. This presentation is fantastic and i can't imagine a way that they could make it better. GAMEPLAY: All the mario styles have different attributes to differentiate each one from the others, mario 1 has the slipperiest controls, mario 3 has the p meter and you can grab shells, mario world has yoshi, the spin jump and you can throw shells upwards and new super mario has that little spin to get extra air time, wall jump, the triple jump and the ground pound. AH! but that's not all!, i mentioned yoshi before however that's exclusive to super mario world and new super mario, so what takes the place of yoshi in mario 3?, the boot! and that's pretty much a trend in this game, many items are exclusive to certain mario styles, so you are the one to decide when you want to create your mario level. Speaking of the items, uuuff. I can make an entire review only on the items, because there's a lot of them in this game and some of them have never appeared in another mario game which makes them very unique, we have lots of powerups, enemies, blocks, sound effects (that you can use to make certain enemies and places say whatever you want) and many other things that make this level editor one of the best i have ever seen in my life, however it's still losing some things from the 4 games like the slopes, some powerups, enemies, etc, but with each update they add more and more content to the game so i expect this things to be in the game eventually. There's a number of modes to try out in this game. First is the creator mode, where you obviously, create levels, The 100 mario challenge where you choose a difficulty and run through some randomly pick levels from the community with 100 lives and depending on the difficulty, the challenge can range from easy, to normal, to fair-hard, to ******** hard, to some of the most insane levels that only the most perverse, crazy and cruel human beings could ever create!. Another mode is the "official level mode", where you play through the levels that the official nintendo employees create, it's pretty cool. Another mode is the "explore levels" one...self explanatory. Similar to the 100 mario challenge we have the 10 mario challenge, where you (again) play through randomly pick levels of the community only this time you don't choose a difficulty and you only get 10 lives. Finally we have the creators mode, where you see the profiles of the best creators and see their level masterpieces that make you say: "**** it, i give up on life, i will never create something better than this". By completing some of this modes you get skins of different characters like samus, link, lucas, fox, donkey kong, luigi, etc, to make the original 1985 mario look like one of this characters via a special mystery mushroom, it's pretty cool. In conclusion with great level editor possibilities, great classic music, very well done graphics for each style, great modes and overall being pretty much an unlimited game, Super Mario Maker gets a 10/10.

Sonic Generations8
Feb 27, 2016
Sonic generations is the first modern sonic game i have ever played and ooooh boy is it a good time to play this one. STORY: The story is very basic and very light hearted, but in a sonic game that's all we need to keep me entertained. I mean we don't want to go back **** know...06. The plot goes like this: Sonic and friends are having a the birthday party (sonic's one), when suddenly a gigantic-black-demonic looking-time traveling monster appears out of nowhere and crashes the party by kidnapping of his friends and leaving sonic unconscious. When he wakes up sonic founds himself in a spacious nostalgic white place where he eventually finds tails and his past classic (sonic 1-2-3 and cd) incarnation, as well as tails classic (sonic 2-3) encarnation. Their goal is to get all the chaos emeralds to defeat the gigantic-black-demonic looking-time traveling-monster. PRESENTATION: The game graphicly is pretty nice, the models, the textures and the lightning effects all still look very nice to this day and the colors, the voice acting and the incredible music make this presentation very solid...however there are some problems. First of all i'm playing the PS3 version so i don't know if any of this problems are also in the XBOX360 version (probably not), ok the game does have some framerate issues from time to time and some textures do seem a bit more bland than others, but that doesn't detract from the rest of the presentation. GAMEPLAY: Sonic generations combines 2 gameplay styles. Modern sonic (where you control sonic in a 3D space the majority of the time) and classic sonic (where you see sonic in a 2D space). Both gameplay styles work really well and they are incredibly fun to play. Classic sonic is the most basic of the since your moveset is a bit more limited, we can jump, roll, spindash and...that's pretty much it. Modern sonic is a bit more complex, but not by much, we can jump, boost to get loads of speed, homing attack and do the quickstep to go left or right really fast. Both gameplay modes have some really clever and fun level design and both of them are really fun. Sonic generations also has some challenges and boss fights to do and while i don't want to spoil why they are there, i will say this:...............**** the final boss. Sonic generations also brings some power ups that you can buy in a shop and trophies that you can unlock by putting the correct password + an online mode with a time trial mode and some really interesting and competitive stuff. In conclusion with good presentation, great gameplay, level design, music, modes and funny story, sonic generations is an example on how to do a great 3D sonic game and it deserves an 8/10.

Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U10
Feb 27, 2016
With over 58 characters, 55 stages, balanced and fun gameplay, great presentation and much much more, Super smash bros for wii u is my opinion the best game in the entire series. STORY: The story of super smash bros is more a theory than anything else. Basicly what people say is that a kid has a few toys and super smash bros is how the kid sees this toys when he plays with them. PRESENTATION: Super smash bros had never looked so good. Like always the 60 fps is smooth and this is actually the first smash game to ever been on HD 1080p and i looks sooooo good. Some of the textures may look bland at first, but when you are fighting and concentrating on your opponent and seeing the other great textures, models and effects, the semi-bland textures go unnoticed. The soundtrack is also legendary, with so many remixes, orchestra, original music and all of these from so many franchises that some one can argue that this is one of the greatest soundtracks of all time and honestly i agree. A solid presentation for an even more solid gameplay!. GAMEPLAY: Super smash bros for wii u has not only a lot of characters and stages, but also a lot of different modes and collectables. First we the typical smash mode where you choose a character, a stage and the you battle it out in 3 different ways. The time mode, the stock mode (the one that you should always use) and the coin mode, all of these are good ways to play with friends of the other 3 cpu's you can play against with or without items. AH! but that's not all of the cpu's you can battle against, since the wii u version has 8 player smash...pretty self explanatory. We also have other modes like smash tour, which is basicly mario party mode. Or other more interesting like classic mode, where you are in like this board and to activate a battle you approach an enemy, you the defeat them in a, rinse and repeat with different rules every round, until you get to the fighting me section and then finally defeat master hand or master hand + crazy hand or master hand + crazy hand + master core...depending on the difficulty you choose. All stars is also back, this is basicly arcade mode, where you fight enemies to fight the ones at the end, pretty freaking cool and also pretty freaking hard. Other modes include event mode, where you have to complete challenges to get rewards. Master and crazy orders is a mode where you complete different challenges with different rules to get rewards and in crazy hand case, you actually fight him and if you loose, you loose a bunch of collectables. Speaking of collectables, smash wii u has trophies that you get by buying them of playing other modes, you can use them to do some pretty cool pictures. We also have training, multi-man smash, target blast and the home run contest to earn rewards, money, trophies, and custom **** yeah i forgot about custom moves, in each mode you can have the opportunity to get customizable moves for every fighter, basicly you can make every character have any move that you want and give them equipment to increase their status and give the special abilities...a custom fighter!, if you have amiibo you can also give it custom moves and equipment. Another fun mode is trophy rush, you put money to get more time and you spend that time eliminating boxes to get (obviously) trophies, equipment, money and custom moves, thrust me when you are going for custom moves, this mode is essential. The final modes are stage builder (self explanatory) and master pieces, the latter being a mode where you can play classic NES and SNES games, it's really cool. The core mechanics of smash are still the same, you can jump, attack, smash attack and do special moves and to do different moves you use the analog stick in different directions, very simple and veeeeery addicting mechanics. Overall ith great presentation, gameplay, music, mechanics, graphics, replay-value and many many many other things smash for wii u gets a 10/10. A great game and believe when i say this...i only covered only like 70% of this game, so needless to say if you have a wii u, yo should definitely pick this one up. I PLAYED MORE THAN 800 hrs **** joke.

Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition9
Feb 26, 2016
I'm not a big fan of the fighting game genere, but this game is simply amazing. Story: I really don't know how to describe MK9's plot, but i'll try to do my best. Shao kahn has finally killed all the MK fighters and raiden is the only one left, after losing to Shao kahn, the raiden from the future sends his memories to the raiden of the past to warn him of what will happen in the future, so eventually raiden teams up with some of the other MK characters to prevent, pretty much armageddon. That's the story, nothing special but very entreteining for me. Presentation: Wow this game is great looking, MK9 doesn't fall into the trap of sacrificing a color palette, just for the sake of being realistic (looking at you gear of war), everything has color and the models, animations and backgrounds all look great and nice on the eyes. The music fit perfectly with every situation and the blood is ALL OVER THE PLACE. The fatalities look great and every little detail like the fact that the clothes of the characters brake after intense fighting make this presentation a joy to experience. Gameplay: MORTAL KOMBAT!!!. The mechanics are very well thought and fun to use, you can use your usual punches and kicks, you can block, you can do special moves with a combination of commands and the new addition to your arsenal, the x-rays, can be trigger to do 30-40% damage and when you the broken bones of your enemy, it feels gooooooood :). The mechanics that this game has are very similar (to not say nearly identical) to MK vs DC Universe, however here they are more fleshed-out and fun. We also have some different modes like the story mode ,Kombat Mode, Challenge mode, Training mode, Extras and Online mode (which no longer works) all of the modes are pretty self explanatory, but extras does have a interesting mode which is the kript mode, where you spend the games cash that you get in other modes to unlock concept art, fatalities, skins etc. Kombat mode actually has some other modes inside, first is Tournament mode, where yo chose a fighter, choose a difficulty and go through various kombat's until you get to Shao kahn, Tournament with teams is the same thing, but this time is 2 vs 2. To be honest story mode, training, the kript, online, and tournament is all i played so i can't comment on the other "kombat modes", but they seem very interesting and fun. Overall MK9 is a fantastic game, with great presentation, story and gameplay, i can't recommend it enough and keep in mind this is coming from a guy that usually hates fighting games. If you are going to get it, i say get the ps3 version since it has an exclusive character...KRATOS!!!. With that said i'll give the game a 9/10 did i mentioned that the roster of characters is also very big?

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune5
Feb 26, 2016
Before i get into the review, i need to say that i don't hate Uncharted, Naughty Dog or sony, but the amount of people that say that naughty dog has never and never will make a bad game i just mindblowing and i feel the need to say my honest opinion on this game, to demonstrate the flaws, errors and overall bad design that this game has, that fanboys and Naughty dog and Uncharted fans seem to forget when critiquing this game (Watch a video called "The Naughty dog effect" to see what i mean). With that said let's start with this review. Story: Uncharted story is nothing special, you are this guy called Nathan Drake, with an ali called sully, that are basically treasure hunters, this 2 find a clue to where the treasure of Francis Drake is and the plan is to get it and use it to pay bills, oh and a reporter called Elena is also here. Aaaaaaaand...That's pretty much it, no kidding that's the entire premise of the game, at most this is an average plot, but it's certainly not the reason you want to play this game. Presentation: Uncharted's presentation issss.....uuuuuuuummm...weeeell...i guess it's OK for an "early" realised title, but by this time games like gears of war had already been out and i get that the ps3 is hard to code for, but the system had already been out for a year, you are supposed to figure that **** out. Not helping is the fact that the game can look downright dull at times, the color pallet is very limited and i get that they are trying to realistic, but come on! the real world doesn't have grey all over place! this is also something that gears of war suffered from, but at least that game had all the other presentation aspects covered). Tho there are some times that the environments can look pretty gorgeous with clever use of color and lighting effects, these are the best looking moments of the game, but there are so many of the dull, uninspired moments that pretty much kills the look of the game and at least for me the characters models and animations fall into the uncanny valley, top all of that with forgettable music (aside from the theme song), glitches i encountered numerous times and 30 fps and you got a bland presentation overall, definitely not a good example of the potential of the PS3, this is a department that Uncharted 2 is much better at. Gameplay: Uncharted is a third person shooter with some platforming elements thrown in to reduce the repetitiveness. You use the L1 button to aim and the L2 button to shoot, not the R triggers like the usual shooters ****. To cover you press the circle button and you move with the left analog stick, move the camera with the right stick, Sound familiar? YES this is indeed gears of war gameplay, an exact rip-off of it!, how is this original? how is this something unique? i've seen plenty of reviews that say this statements and i can't disagree more. Now you might argue the same thing for the new super mario games (games that i actually like), but the difference is that shooting games are a lot more repetitive that platforming games. The only thing that uncharted does "new" is the most basic parkour system i have ever seen and the most easy puzzles i have ever solved. Not only that, but because of the placement and pattern of the enemies, the only way the defeat the shooting sections is by memorizing where every enemy is and when they are going to move and that's just fun is in it?. There is a good variety of weapons, meaningless collectables and the combat mechanics that are very decent (and by that i mean you mash the square button), but that doesn't save the other fatal flaws of the game. Oh and one last thing: **** the boat segments, there's only like 2 of them, but horrible controls and cheap enemy and trap placement, makes this parts the worst of the entire game. Overall Uncharted (for me at least) is a mediocre title at best, "don't own game" at the it's worst, the graphics are decent at best, the shooting mechanics are ripped right out of gears of war, that require no strategy and instead tedious memorization, the music is forgettable, the puzzles are easy, the parkour is extremely basic and the story is nothing special, with that in mind i give this game 5/10. It's not an abomination ****, i mean superman 64 still exist, but it's a forgettable, bland title that unless you want to complete a PS3 collection you should never buy (or you could get it very cheap).

Batman: Arkham Knight8
Feb 26, 2016
I've never played any other arkham game before this one, but if any of the other games are just as good or even better in terms of quality, then i'm going to have a blast. I won't talk about the story because i don't want to spoil anything, so let's go to presentation. PRESENTATION: the game graphicly is very gorgeous, there's not a single thing i consider doll, bad constructed or animated, the voice acting is phenomenal and the weather effects look very nice. I can't say the same for the music tho, because it's more atmospheric than anything and that makes it very forgettable i my opinion and i also encountered a number of glitches and pop-in every one in a while, so the presentation is good, but not perfect. GAMEPLAY: Batman arkham knight has 2 different gameplay styles, the one where you control batman on earth and the other is the most controversial thing in this **** batmobile. Let's with the "on-foot gameplay": Ok first of all the combat in this game is brilliant, for the most part yo just hammer the attack button to take out enemies, however to the game's credit, it feels awesome when you punch the ever loving **** out of enemies and the combat feels fluid without ever slowing down. To avoid the repetitiveness, arkham knight also has some different enemies that will require different strategies to defeat, you have gigant thugs that you need to stun them before attacking, thugs with shield that require different inputs to defeat, electric thugs that you can't touch until you shoot them with a the gun of electricity or even a combination of all of those enemies. Batman can also use a number of items to progress through the adventure and they are all pretty unique and useful, there's batarangs, ice bombs, hacking device, batclaw, grapple-hook, the list goes on and all of these items are useful for many different things like puzzles, combat, travelling, etc. Batman can also take down enemies from behind with the stealth mechanic and that is very satisfying to do, however if you do this a number of times a fear meter will fill up and when it's full you can do fear takedowns to eliminate 3-5 thugs and it is very important to use it if you want to complete the game. Side-quest are plentiful in this game and they all require a different thing to do like rescue firefighters, stop bank robbers **** riddler **** you know what? **** the riddler, this side-quest is so long, tedious, annoying and boring, that can make any player rage-quit. Now let's go to the most divisive part of arkham knight, the batmobile. Ok this thing is used to do 3 things 1. Travelling through the enormous city. 2. Solve puzzles. 3.Tank battles The latter being the one i'm going to focus on, because the others are pretty self explanatory. The tank battles basically are the other 50-60% of the game and at least for me it never got repetitive, i love shooting the other tanks and i never got bored with it, there's special weapons that you can use to speed things up and it requires quite a bit of skill to execute well and i always enjoy the time with the batmobile. But just like with the side-quests there's one BIG, exception to my enjoiment with the **** cobra hunting segments, this type of tank battles only happens like 5-6 times in the entire game, but believe me...they are HORRIBLE!!, this sections are one big **** up and easily the worst part about the game for me. Now, why they are so bad?, well, the only way to destroy this thing is from behind, now this in of itself is not bad, however, because the cobra tanks love to be so close to each other, it's nearly impossible to get a clear opportunity to destroy this ******* things, so don't be surprised if many times you were so damn close to destroying one of this tanks, only to be spotted by another one and ruin your whole opportunity and it doesn't help the fact that they can kill you in 2 hits!!, this part of the game are so frustrating, so annoying and soooo BORING, that it brings the pace of the game to a big slugg. Easily the worst thing in this entire experience and something i never want to experience again. In conclusion batman arkham knight for the most part is a pretty solid and fun game, and while the music is forgettable, there's a few glitches and pop-up, the riddler can be extremely annoying and the cobra hunting segments can just go **** themselves. The rest of the game is very entreteining, solid and well done. The combat and items are great, the graphics and aesthetics are great, most of the side-quests are pretty fun and the batmobile is a welcome addition (except for the cobra hunting). With that said i'll give the game an 8/10, if any of the other arkham games are just as good or even better than this one, then i'm in for a treat.

Super Mario 3D World10
Feb 26, 2016
This game is AWESOME!, many will think this is just an HD version of 3D Land for the 3ds, but this is an entirely different beast. STORY: The story is somewhat original, instead of bowser kidnapping princess peach, this time the sprixies (which are like some sort of fairy) are the ones that are getting kidnapped and it's up to you to help them. PRESENTATION: Super Mario 3D World is the first 3D mario game to be in HD and the change is very noticeable. Everything here is good on the eyes, the 60 fps, 1080p, the colors, the incredible soundtrack, the animations, the models, everything in this game is great on the eyes. GAMEPLAY: In this game there is a lot of power-ups, of course you have the typical, mushroom, fire flower, stars, and all of that, but now we have some power ups from 3D land to, like the boomerang flower and the tanooki suit, but now we have a cat suit that lets you climb walls and attack enemies with your claws, the cherry which duplicates you, and the cannon, which...lets you fire cannonballs. Much like the new super mario bros, you have some collectables in every stage, you have green stars which let's you unlock some world that require a set number of stars to play and the stamps **** only use to have a stamp ****. This time around you get to play as 4 (5) playable characters, mario which is balanced in all his stats, luigi that can jump higher but has poor traction, Toad that is very fast but his jump is really bad and Peach which is slow but can hover for a bit, this adds a lot of variety to the game in terms of how you play, there is also another one, but i'll let you discover who it is. The levels are very well crafted and they all have something new to offer, all of them are very fun to play and offer a lot of variety, as well as the boss fight's which are genuinely challenging at times. There's also some mini games to play, like a slot machine, guess what challenges, challenge boxes that give you stars and captain toad section, where you play as captain toad and travel through a mini-stage that have puzzle elements, to complete this sections you have to collect 5 stars spread around the level, all of those things add a lot of variety to the game, there's also some other mini-games that i didn't mention but those would be a spoiler so i will pass out on those ones. The controls are great and the uses of the gamepad are not as horrible as many think. Overall this game in terms of challenge, variety, duration, level design, bosses, polish and just being a fun and enjoyable game...this game is perfect, a masterpiece, not only as a platformer, but videogames in general. It's a great game and a must have if you have a wii u or planning of having one. i'll give it a 10/10

Mario Kart 89
Feb 26, 2016
This without a doubt this is the best Mario Kart there has ever been. STORY: NONE watsoever. PRESENTATION: Man, this game is just a pleasure to look at, the 60fps, 1080p, the weather and lighting effects, the moddeles, the animations, the music, pretty much everything in mario kart 8 is great looking and well done. GAMEPLAY: The item and character balance is the best in the entire series, the CPU doesn't cheat, the new items are very fun to use, the new courses are awesome, the modes 50cc, 100cc, 150cc, mirrorcc and the new 200cc are all as fun as they always were and the online work's very well, the only 2 issues i have with the game is the battle mode, which takes place in normal arenas, making it easy to not even see your opponent and the roster, even with the dlc, the roster is not the best, there are so many baby characters, and koopalinks, and marios, and peachs, etc, i mean seriously, why cut diddy kong or dry bones, or why not add more original characters like Captain Falcon, Sonic, Pac-man, etc, i mean the roster is not terrible, like is good to see some animal crossing characters, and link from the legend of zelda, but you still have to buy those characters (don't get me wrong, the dlc in this game is sweet, but....still). Overall mario kart 8 is nearly a perfect game and if nintendo decides to do a dlc pack 3 which added more characters like the one's i mentioned and fix the battle mode then i would not doubt to give this game a 10/10, but as it stands mario kart 8 gets a 9/10

LEGO City Undercover9
Feb 26, 2016
This was the first must have for the wii u back in 2013, and now is still one of the best games that system has to offer, Lego city undercover is the best lego game there has ever been. STORY: The story follows a character called chase mcain, wich is returning from retirement of being a police officer, to put back on jail his old rival Rex fury. PRESENTATION: Graphically the game is pretty good, all the places are colorful and nice on the eyes, there are certain effects, like the light from the sun and the water that just makes this LEGO world so live. The music is catchy and reminicent of those 80's police shows. Tho it's not perfect, the frame rate is pretty inconsistent in some occasions and there are a big number of load times wich are pretty long in some cases. GAMEPLAY: Gameplay is like a mix between GTA and lego, you have a really big open world wich you can explore to find many collectables around the city, you can steal.....ummm....borrow cars from other people to explore the city and to get to your next mission, the missions are super fun to play and they all have puzzle elements, they are mostly linear, but still a great time and you can explore every nook and cranny to find many things in the level, the main gameplay element is the UNDERCOVER part, basically chase will disguise as many professions, each with their own specialty, like the police one has a grappling hook, the robber can break doors, the miner can break rocks and use dynamite, etc, all the costumes feel so unique and useful and with the ZL and ZR buttons you can switch on the fly. This game also has humor and there reference everywhere, to many TV series to also movies. The uses of the gamepad are really cool, and i don't find them to be annoying like other people say, but that's just me. Overall this game is nearly perfect, , but they are negatives anyway, so with all that said i'll give this game a 9/10

Bayonetta10
Feb 26, 2016
Bayonetta in general is a great game and the port to the wii u is in my mind the definitive version, but let's discuss the game itself first. Bayonetta is a hack and slash, and a great one at it's very worst. STORY: First of all let me say that the story is not nearly as bad as many people think, at least for me is at worst a good story, bayonetta is a great character, the game has a lot of humor, the world is interesting and overall at least i can enjoy the story, i'm not saying is a great story, but it's an enjoyable one at worst. PRESENTATION: In terms of presentation, bayonetta does a pretty good job, the graphics and music are great, the frame rate is consistent and it actually runs a tiny bit more smoother on the wii u than in the xbox 360 and specially the ps3. GAMEPLAY: In terms of gameplay bayonetta is superb, you have a lot of tools at your disposal and there are a LOT of combos to do, you can unlock weapons and techniques by buying them on rodin's shop with halo's which are basically the money that you use on hell and there are many upgrades to get, there are collectables to get and you get ranked at the end of every chapter. The boss battles are incredible and fun. The main thing that sets apart bayonetta from other games is witch time, by dodging an enemy attack at the last moment, the time will slow down and you will have time the beat the f**k out of your opponent, every time you do this you fill up a magic count, fill it up to the ma and you can do a torture attack, where you can do massive damage to your opponent. Overall bayonetta at least for me is the best action hack and slash there has ever been, perhaps only beating by bayonetta 2, the gameplay, the music, the graphics, the combos, the bosses, the story, everything about this game is amazing and i feel like the wii u version is the best of the 3, since it has great graphics, slightly better performance that the xbox 360 version and you also get some extra content with the nintendo customs, that DON'T require amiibo, but really it doesn't matter anyway, bayonetta overall is a great game and the best in it's genre in my opinion, along side with bayonetta 2. i'll give this game a 10/10

Bayonetta 210
Feb 26, 2016
Bayonetta 2 is an incredible game and one of the best (if not the best) game of 2014, topping up his predecessor in just about every way. STORY: The story once again is nothing incredible, for me is pretty enjoyable like the first game and it's certainly more fleshed out this time, but i'll admit is nothing amazing. PRESENTATION: The Presentation once again is pretty freaking good, the graphics, the art style, the music, and the great 60fps are all just superb and definitely one of the games better aspects GAMEPLAY: The gameplay this time is just as good as before, you can still do a ton and i do mean a TON of combos, some of which have been changed, you can still do witch time, which slows enemies down time and you can still do torture moves, but this time have an option, you either do the torture move or you enter climax state where all your attacks are powered up for a limited time. Once again the bosses are super fun to play against and for some are the best part about the game. There are also challenge rooms where you will need to complete a challenge like defiant all the enemies with which time or kill the enemies without getting touched, things like that, you do this to get a collectible to expand your health, magic, etc, this sections were also in bayonetta 1. There are some sections where the game takes a completely different gameplay style, becoming an on rail shooter, a race type game, etc. You also now have a hover ability which makes platforming around more easy and the game has some hidden sections to trigger optional battles, if you want a good ranking you will need to find all of them. Like the first game you can transform into different animals depending on the situation, tho some of them you need to buy them from rodin´s shop, where you can once again buy upgrades, new moves, objects, weapons and a lot of other things, that will make your journey a bit easier. Overall with great music, graphics, art style, variety, gameplay, combos, bosses, and just overall great EVERYTHING bayonetta 2 surpases the unsurpassable game, bayonetta 1 and gets without a doubt a 10/10.
