I didn't have high expectations for this game, but it was actually very good. This feels like playing a mid 2000s action RPG with a few modern tweaks to the formula. Pros - Combat - Visuals - Music - Fun campaign - Likable characters - Bosses - AI - Treasure chests Cons - World variety (need more unique looking levels) - Some of the voice clips sound out of place (almost like they were added at the last moment) - Would have liked an older more rugged "Captain"

Its extremely laggy and that hasn't changed at the time of this review and i fear this will turn people away within the first moments launching the game...That aside, the game has a LOT of potential and it gets addictive once you make peace with the poor performance as unlike sword and shield, it actually has quests you are interested in finishing within an interesting **** just sad this one wasnt left in the oven for a few more months...

I literally bought my PS5 just because of this game and its also the only one I have a platinum trophy for as I just love it so much. It's a celebration of cars and has hours upon hours of gameplay. If you enjoyed past GT games or just love the history of cars and want that unique feel and sound from each one through the wonderful duelsense controller, this is hands down the best experience you will get. Outdated open world mechanics...stupid puzzles, obnoxious background music and uninteresting characters are probably the things that annoy me most. I barely got through the first game, but somehow they made a sequel and it still isnt a good game...well maybe if its your first **** i doubt any veteran will call this good. Please, please, lets put Aloy in the past and use all those studio resources to actually make a good game...I would much rather prefer a linear driven game with tight, fun mechanics and a compelling story. Look at the LOU. We want immersion, not copy and paste open world potato games.

A lot of potential but poor execution. This was one of the most boring games I have played in recent memory. The first 10 chapters was a real grind to get through and although things picked up afterwards, it still ultimately failed to climb out of the proverbial hole. I am convinced removing Nokia and all the trivial non critical quests to instead focus on improving the main story cutscenes (especially the non-cgi parts) would have made a much better, albeit shorter game.

So...I finally finished the single player story. My review will only be about the single player experience. Firstly, the game starts off with a lot of awe. Beautiful world and just so, so much detail. I have to applaud Rockstar for creating a game that makes you really feel you are reliving those cowboy days. Music is also top notch and at times, I really felt like I was the main character in a classic wild west movie. The game nails the atmosphere. Where the game drops points for me is in the actual gameplay and the fact that the single player feels longer than it should be. The last 10 hours felt like it was better left out and really felt like a chore to finish. The character that you control feels extremely clunky and at times I got really annoyed. It feels like they tried too hard to be realistic and sacrificed fluid game mechanics for that goal. Framerates were also terrible on my PS4 so if you really want to play this, get it on PC instead or maybe on the next gen consoles. Its a good game, that ultimately gets let down by its lack of fluid gameplay and a campaign thats longer than it should be.

Pros: - Atmospheric and emotional story - Beautiful detailed world. Sets the benchmark for other games - The most brutal game I have ever played. Dealing damage makes you feel like you hate the other guy - Looting feels meaningful - Fantastic sound design, that can truly set the mood Cons - The spoilers before the game launched. This really destroyed the impact this game could have had. - Characters that fill up the world can look low quality in comparison to main characters. Pros: - Great campaign(Shout out to Captain Price) - Weapon customization - Warzone - Many multiplayer modes Cons: - Poorly optimized(need a beefy machine to push over 60fps in Warzone with everything turned up) - Multiplayer have issues with crossplay(aim favours console players), cheaters and quite buggy at times

Its quite a buggy game that can put a stain on what is otherwise a good experience. Some of bugs that really annoyed me was that at times the actions on my keyboard didn't register. For example, for a whole chapter I was unable to close my map with the default tab key. Then the next chapter I was able to do it again. During these moments you just end up smashing and clicking everything until something happens. It was really annoying. AI randomly popping in and out during scenes. One time a bunch of mutants looked like they were swimming through the air. AI in general felt weird and just not fluid enough. They will get stuck in places or just not fit through a hole because its 2 cm too small. These things really spoil the immersion. Apart from that, the game looks really, really good. Some levels just left me in awe. The art style is just gorgeous. World, characters and weapons are really nice to look at. One mission where I didn't like the characters or the world was at the Yamantau Bunker...everything there just seemed that it would have been better left out of the game. When it comes to gameplay mechanics, it doesn't feel polished like you would think a AAA game should be and I really wished they also payed more attention to this aspect of the game. Shooting feels fine, but movement and fighting with the enemies just was not satisfying enough. It felt like it was more meant to be played with stealth in mind, which I also found more fun in the end. Its not a polished high action packed shooter like doom or call of duty, but its more story driven than those titles and at times, it can really nail immersion better than most games. It could have been an 8 or even a 9, but unfortunately some bugs and clunky AI keep it from reaching its full potential. If you enjoy post apocalyptic fiction and game immersion, then this is definitely a game you should play. If you want a smooth polished call of duty like shooter, then this is not for you.

This game could have easily scored a 7 or maybe an 8 if it was just more polished. Weird sound issues, questionable level design and mechanics, writing not checked and all around finishing touches missing. It feels rushed and maybe another 3 months of work could have made it better. However, there are 2 things that are done incredibly well. The atmosphere and storytelling keeps you engaged. It sort of stumbles around the middle, but then picks itself up all the way to the end. Lovecraft fans will definitely enjoy it. I certainly did. However, due to the quality of the product, I cannot recommend it at full price. Its more of a AA than a AAA game. Its not a bad thing, and we certainly need more of those as this is usually an artistic place of love or hate. If you can get it with a 40%+ discount, this is a must have.

If you enjoy fps multiplayer games, you definitely must try this. I cannot remember the last time I had such a roller coaster of emotions playing a multiplayer game. From being head shot out of nowhere, to making it out with a bounty just killing a team a few moments ago that ambushed you can be extremely rewarding. Its a much slower paced game than for example call of duty or destiny, but requires much more tactical thinking to try and outsmart your opponent into what can essentially turn out as a thrilling game of hide and seek... before popping out of nowhere and sending your opponent to hell. One piece of advice. Play with a friend as you will not win much solo queuing.

Coming back after these years, I can honestly say that there were no game breaking bugs. Its in the best state it has ever been. Such a pity that it was not like this at launch, as this is a fantastic immersive sim and once you get pulled in, it reminds you of the good times you had with the first game. To me, the game just got better the longer I played. It is everything I want from an immersive sim. Beautiful environment that feels like its lived in, fantastic mechanics, enjoyable story, great characters. All boxes ticked. If you have played Xcom(hereafter referred to as x), here are some points to consider: How does it feel like x? - Turn based tactics with action points for shooting, moving and using special abilities - Destructive environment - Can earn xp to introduce new skills for characters - Can have different squad members How does it NOT feel like x? - Instead of aliens, we have mutants(and you play as them) - Distinct squad personalities - Sort of an rpg mechanic where you can explore areas to collect loot and find lore. Nice touch. - No base building - There is quite a big emphasis on sneaking and taking out enemies before triggering the full on engage mechanism. Thus far I have enjoyed it a lot. Great atmosphere and a world with characters I am interested in(which is better here than in x).

This is probably one of the best free to play games of the last decade... However, your time should still be worth something and I will rate it based on that. I have played around 40 hours and if there is one thing the game gets right, its to have you play the same repetitive template over and over all in the name of progression. When I open the map, I see all these planets that I still have to explore. But, in reality, its not really exploring when the same mode just gets recycled and the level slightly different to before, disguised as something new(because its on a different planet now). In a nutshell, the game has a few mission types, and basically assign them to different areas on different planets. Here and there is something unique, but its very rare. For example, one mission type is to hack 3 terminals in order to get data. You will do many of the same "hack 3 terminals to get data", only with some areas looking slightly different due to this procedurally generated mechanism. The problem is that these areas look very generic and can be ok for the first few hours, but after you have seen all mission types, everything feels very repetitive and just look the same. Oh, I saw this asset to the left on the previous mission. Now this asset is to the right. Its still the same damn asset I have seen a thousand times before. This game gets high praise due to the fact that its free, but if you had to pay 60 for it, the ratings would have been much, much lower. I tried to like it and grinded away, but its just too repetitive. If you are tight on cash, have time to waste, then this is for you. If you looking for a fantastic experience, from a perspective of what a video game should be, then I cannot recommend this. I give it a 6, but if I had to pay more than 20 for this, it would be a 4 or a 5.

This is definitely one of the best games from the last 2-3 years. I ignored it for a long time since I am usually not a big fan of survival games, let alone survival horror games. But, I gave it a shot after some reviewers convinced me...plus I was bored and had nothing else to play. Boy, this game was a treat. I enjoyed the sci-fi theme, so the environment quickly lured me in. Once there, I got hooked with the crafting system and really enjoyed building up my character to be more strategically useful in certain scenarios. The character built feels less generic and more of a mix between deus ex and dishonored. Mechanics - spot on. The immersion that the characters and the fantastic space station create is something other game devs should take note of. Its very rare these days to see how your actions can noticeably create a sense of progression in your immediate environment. I truly felt my character belonged there, and with a cohesive effort from the others, tried to prevent or encourage a particular outcome. This is a must have, even if you don't like survival horror. Apart from the 2-3 jump scares(could be different for you), there is nothing scary about this game. Just an absolute joy from start to finish. Get it!

If you came here looking for an actual review or score, then focus on the reviews from the critics and not that of the user reviews. Anyone here that rated below 6, most likely didn't play the game. I mean seriously, how terrible must a game be for it to be below 6? Anyone can watch a quick video on youtube and write about **** that sounds true, by not even playing a single minute. Secondly, I feel some try to make up for all the 0s, so they give it a 10, which it certainly is not. But I can tell you one thing, from someone that has not yet finished the game, this is a massive improvement from D1. There is much more to do, the cutscenes look great and the story is presented in what is expected ****. As an avid player of D1, my biggest concern, back then, was content. D2 delivers and brings a lot of new to the table. Perhaps what I like most, is the fact that Bungie tried to keep all the fans happy by listening to what they had to say about D1, and improve on that in the new game. If they keep on doing this, the game will just evolve going forward. For me, I am satisfied with the direction it is going. Bungie is planning to keep us, much, much more busy in the months to come and I find that extremely pleasing. The game is great and it is definitely worth a buy!

For a guy with a very rich history of gaming I find myself in a bit of a pickle with this game. The me of maybe 4-5 years ago would have given this a 9, but the me of today cannot give it more than an 8. When you have been playing games for more than 20 years, new and unique experiences become rare. This game has some really nice visuals, good audio and solid game mechanics. However, it just doesn't grab my attention that much. I can play for 15 mins and then I want to do something else. Some machine models really look crap and you think to yourself - "did a small kid design this specific model"? Maybe there was a bring your kid to work day and the best creature drawing got converted into a 3d model used for the game. I don't know. The story is intriguing in the sense that you want to know what happened, and I think at the core has potential. But the journey from start to finish loses that feeling almost immediately. In some cases certain aspects of the game felt more like a chore than a truly enjoyable experience. I see why people like it, but I have yet to find that connection...

The game animations are not great, but you can easily adjust to it. The story is good enough to pay attention, the exploration is fun and colorful, but the creative gameplay is what will keep you coming back for more. If you enjoy gameplay more than story, you will enjoy this. I cannot remember having played any other fps that felt this good. As a person gaming now for more than 20 years I really don't understand why the game gets these low user reviews. Maybe it is too expensive? Get a job. Enjoy story over gameplay? Watch a movie. Get your ass kicked in the crucible? And you call ****. Pfft. Great game!
