Wait, that's it? So 4 Seasons and it ends like that... Look the entire show starts rough and includes some stupid woke stuff right at the end but in its entirety, it is a good show. And this is coming from a someone, that actually plays and develops video games. But there is a completely valid reason why this is happening. Nobody Pays for Apple TV+ lol. Streaming services and there users are dwindeling. Ubisoft is going through some intense Profit Drops, and the Writers and Directors keep hitting walls with their story telling. Overall the Show has characters and some interesting plot lines and character arcs, some worse than others, but other than that the show is binge worthy and really enjoyable. Mythic Quest is a 7/10, and while I recommend it, it will bug you a little at how it ends and how turbulent in nature the show is.

I feel like this show lost its roots by the 4th season and started to feel different. But I loved it all the way through and it was perfect I got to watch it while in school for game design.

Having worked in the video game industry for 17 years, this is the most accurate show about how things truly are in game development, as ridiculous as that seems. The show itself is essentially a comedy about workplace aspiration, rivalry and friendship. There are some surprisingly touching episodes mixed in with broad farse. Kudos to the creators for having a vision and seeing it through.

Had a lot of potential but it's a huge misfire of a tv series. The writing is overall very bland

It does enough to stay entertaining consistently despite the writing lacking direction and being charming more so than funny. The leads kind of undergo the same character development every season, so it feels like going around in circles at times. Surprisingly, the one off episodes are brilliant and don’t suffer any of these issues. Good cast overall. Rachel can be tough to watch. and needs to be rewritten, Jo is awesome and it’s worth checking out her scenes.

This show has so much charm. It's great as a drama and a comedy. I love all the characters, and I care about them like they are my friends.

Half really funny, half eye rollingly bad. Kind of painful to watch, plus character arcs are repetitive, like Poppy desperate for Ian's **** 3 seasons? Characters are thin stereotypes, which can be used to great comic effect, but also can be bland and feel completely fake. Double edged sword...half of the episodes are really smart and half are going for low hanging fruit or worse, aggressively stupid. This unevenness makes the show tiresome. Can't finish season 3...I enjoyed certain episodes but, I'm out.

It’s a real s**t sandwich. It gets worse as it goes. Avoid at all costs. Gross mix of politics and boring office drama.

I thought it was a lame copy cat of other comedies but instead **** of friends (or a set of software devs in silicon valley), it’s a group of video game designers. But this is so much more. It’s funny, charming, relevant and even political in its undertones. Definitely worth a watch for anyone. And if you’re a lover of video games, you’ll wonder how you’ve gone so long without watching this. It’s fantastic

Mythic Quest is the ying to fellow Apple+ series Ted Lasso' s yang. Both are essentially workplace comedies, but whereas Lasso presents workmates as extended family with a "can't we all just get along" Ted Lasso philosophy, MQ presents workmates as a fully dysfunctional family, with most everyone looking out for themselves. Mcelhenny, Hornsby and Day have taken their years of making unlikable characters lovable in Sunny, and created ego driven characters who have to straddle art versus commerce in the world of videogame production. There's an exchange between lead creative Ian and lead programmer Poppy that's a through away line, but is a brilliant bit. The movie Weird Science is mentioned, that (the younger) Poppy doesn't know. She says, "just because something's old doesn't make it good." Ian replies, "you don't understand our culture." She replies back, "what culture?". Three lines that say so much. There are hints of Sunny that seep their way in. **** are used as comedic fodder, whiteboards are brought out, the flummoxed human resources director acts like the lawyers/social workers, etc. in Sunny, that has to deal with these idiots. Much has been said of the stand alone episode covering the rise and fall of a videogame, again highlighting art versus commerce, and it is heartbreakingly brilliant. Which has a callback in the final episode of season one that is surprising, but makes perfect sense. The characters can be cartoonish, but Mcelhenny and company find the heart and soul within their comedic creations.

Season 1: 7/10 Season 2: 1/10 What have they done? They killed the series! Everything has changed into aggressiveness and dumb fighting against each other. Not even one episode where people are just having fun with each other, where the atmosphere is light or positive. Wow, never expected (after watching season 1) they could destroy all sympathies for all characters at once. Sad.

Season 1 is a uniquely charming **** occasion, hilarious workplace comedy about a game development studio building and maintaining a massive MMORPG (think Runescape or WoW). It does help if the viewer is familiar with the general themes and stereotypes, even if explicit knowledge of the industry isn't. It won't be everyone's cup of tea, but for some, it will be a great cuppa.

Massively dropping in quality. It’s done pretending to care about video games, which it barely did anyway. The end game of Big Bang theory is in sight and they’re off to the races changing characters and making everyone more stupid. It’s now a show about insufferable people who will say anything to get a laugh from the audience. It is zany and quirky **** made by the last generation for the next generation but nobodies watching, nobodies talking about it and nobody cares. The perfect Apple TV+ program, decent talent stalling for cash knowing the money is guaranteed and the bosses signing the checks know nothing about TV. Also I’m pretty sure the LARP episode may constitute a breach in the Geneva convention because getting through it was torture. Watch the single standalone episode from season 1 on its own. It’s an actual look at the game creation process with humour. Exactly what this should be. The mask has lifted and the emperor is never wearing any clothes and he loves it. Let’s just let him do it alone for a while and hope he goes back to more Sunny climates.

Mythic Quest focuses on the employees at a video game studio responsible for a hugely popular MMORPG known as Mythic Quest. As the series begins the studio, lead by creative director Ian Grimm, are preparing to release a major expansion to the game, but things never run smoothly… After a fairly mediocre pilot episode Mythic Quest hits it’s stride pretty quickly. Truth be told, if you have no interest in video games, it’s likely a number of jokes will go over your head, but for gamers like myself this first season provided plenty of laughs. There was even time to fit in a surprisingly moving episode, featuring completely different characters, mid-way through the season that showed a whole other side to this show. It’ll be interesting to see what season two brings.

This show made me laugh a lot, but I appreciated its drama just as much as its comedy. The flashback episode is a new favourite of mine. This show has a lot of heart to go with the 'man these guys are **** comedy that Rob pulls off so well. Definitely worth a watch IMO.

Awesome show! I was really surprised how good this show is. Very funny! If you are into gaming or the gaming business the show is so great! But also for people who are not into gaming! Love it and can’t wait for next season!

This is a very derivative, traditional workplace comedy. I found the story arcs and the character arcs pretty predictable. The leading lady is one of those female characters that doesn’t really have a personality. I feel like I’ve seen this before

The World Is Like The Beatles Based on my professional experience in the corporate world, I'll vouch for the accuracy of the Apple+ series Mythic Quest. I have a difficult time critiquing comedy. I've never rated a comedy of any medium higher than 8. So, when I rate Mythic Quest as a 7 - that means I think it is very good. The other problem with comedy is that what is funny to some individuals is not necessarily funny to other individuals. In this case, you would need to like irony and over-the-top silliness to enjoy Mythic Quest. Also, you would need to have some individual appreciation of the computer gaming industry. I guess the thing that made this comedy better than others is that there are some life issues dealt with in the show that have relevance and are dealt with in a credible and somewhat insightful way. Given the subject matter (computer gaming industry) I'm guessing that a lot of individuals may not enjoy Mythic Quest as much as I did.

One of the most funny, diverse and nuanced shows I've seen for a long time. I think it took about 4 episodes to truly find its legs and it then became one of the best shows I've seen.

I’m not a gamer, but the show is interesting, funny, witty, and engaging as a entertaining workplace parity. Highly recommended!

This show is quite literally unbearable. There can be humor in a "village idiot" character - but not when the entire show involves this behavior. It is hard to believe that any of these characters would even survive an internship at a videogame development studio and i cannot stomach the idiocy. I'll state my bias - Mac is my least favorite of the Sunny bunch - and seeing him play that character (turned up to 100) non-stop is brutal. Anyhow - teens and desperate geeks / sunny fans - enjoy. For the remaining 99% - i recommend skipping. And for the record this does NOT share a pedestal with the great silicone valley!

I've worked in the game industry for 15 years, they nail a lot of it, it's funny and has some soul. Great series

Very disappointed, the show is just bad in so many ways. The only 3 characters that are no super annoying are Poppy, David (Cricket)and his assistant "Jo" (and my wife liked the author C.W. Longbottom, as well). Everyone else's character is just not funny, bring and very forgettable. - These people have no clue about MMOs and video games in general. - They picture MQ as this GIANT that dwarfs every other game on the market (so basically WoW), but when they lose some 9 year old streamer that plays their game, they act as if their game would die! What do these Hollywood people think streamers are? They genuinely seem to think that a game without a streamer has 0 chance of being successful!? - Out of 9 episodes, about 3 in total are dedicated to a lesbian office romance that has nothing to bring to the story. Remove the whole "love story" and the show stays 100% the same! So what is the point? Virtue cookies? - one full episode is about this couple who made video games.. the episode on itself is ok, but again, it brings NOTHING to the show, except for the one moment where Poppi should carve her name in the pillar. The show would be 100% the same without that episode and the one scene! - Then there is the "poor women" episode. Where they do nothing but show these women crying about how hard it is to make it... again this has ZERO relevance to the show and is AGAIN only about getting virtue brownie points. All in all we were very disappointed, annoyed and very bored while watching this show. So much so, that i had to create an account here so that this horrible show hopefully never gets a second season. Hopefully Rob and all the other actors can focus on something better, instead of barfing out another season of "The Hollywood MMO", where SJW meet Leftists.

This show is actually terrible. It's written very poorly and it's super cringe worthy. DO NOT watch this trash.

It's not funny, it has almost nothing to do with the videogame development industry and the most horrible thing: after a few episodes the series completely derails into unsuccessfully copying Always Sunny gags.

Geeking out... Literally! Mythic Quest fills the void left when Silicon Valley ended. Whether tech savvy, a gamer, or just a fan of comedy, MQ covers all the bases. Robert McElhenney brings his brand of comedic energy made famous by Always Sunny along with fellow alum David Hornsby. The only thing that could make this show any better is if Hornsby was playing his famous role of Rickety Cricket still!
