It's pretty good comedy movie. Has some cheap laughs but some feels stretched & forced. Decent lead acting, average plot & direction. You can try it but not strongly recommended for sure.

Boring and not funny at all. It does not deserve the title of the brilliant original movies with the fantastic Leslie Nielsen.

The Naked Gun is exactly the kind of comedy I expected: wordplay, dry jokes, absurd gags and very specific “stupid humor.” It will not work for everyone, but I had a really good time with it. You do not need to know the original movies to enjoy this one, although fans will definitely catch more callbacks, references and little jokes. Liam Neeson works surprisingly well as Frank Drebin Jr. He is not just parodying himself; he tries to capture the spirit of Leslie Nielsen’s character, sometimes more successfully than other times, but overall it fits. Pamela Anderson is also a big part of why the movie works. Her chemistry with Neeson is genuinely strong and at moments reminded me of the dynamic from the original films. The jokes come very fast, sometimes almost too fast, but the further the movie goes, the easier it is to get into its rhythm. Some gags are predictable, but the old-school spoof energy is there. I would gladly watch a sequel, especially with more Ed Hocken Jr.

Quite a dismal parody film where every attempt at a joke feels dry as a desert

The efforts to update this iconic 1980s comedy were not in vain – quite the opposite. It has its own distinct identity without resorting to vulgarity, and proves that, with a bit of effort, Liam Neeson can be funny.

There are few things more miserable than a zany screwball comedy that doesn’t work. Sorry to say it, but I found the new Naked Gun thin, try-hard and utterly excruciating. It waves its wackiness under our noses, somehow carries things further over the top than the original films, and winks, gratingly, after every weak punchline. Felt like I was being constantly elbowed in the ribs here. I got the joke, thanks, I just didn’t think it was very funny. Repeat that about two hundred times. Upon reflection, there were precisely two ideas that hit me right and drew a laugh, and those were quick one-offs that disappeared faster than a flash in the pan. Otherwise? Pandering, repetitive, lowbrow nonsense. The first Naked Gun was lowbrow, too, and equally hit-or-miss, but it never felt like a **** and its well of ideas was damn near bottomless. And it had a far more versatile, expressive star in the driver’s seat. At first glance, casting Liam Neeson in that primary role seems like a daring choice; a good sign that the new producers aren’t afraid to take a few risks and differentiate their take from the franchise’s earlier installments. Neeson isn’t known for his comedy chops, but that idea was mined to tremendous effect in a short segment on the Ricky Gervais series, Life’s Too Short, back in 2011. Then, as now, Neeson was only regarded as a stern, gravel-voiced action star and Gervais leaned into it, using the star’s severe demeanor and one-minded focus on dark subjects to deliver a fabulously unsettling series of improv takes. We try the same thing here, but his edges are softer, the setups are more transparently scripted and he’s more brazenly self-aware. He also appears positively geriatric. Leslie Nielsen never looked so pained in his action scenes, but then, Leslie was also a decade younger, despite what outward appearances might lead us to believe. Maybe this caught me on a bad night. Maybe I’ll find a few more reasons to chuckle if I lighten up and settle in for a re-watch alongside a more receptive audience. Maybe I’ll owe Neeson (and supporting star Pamela Anderson, who bored me to tears) a big apology. Or maybe this just ****.

There are some relatively funny jokes and sight gags scattered throughout, but it never comes close to matching the originals joke per minute ratio and no one can replace Leslie Nielsen in this role…

I think most of us would agree that this was pretty funny for a remake. My only complaint really is this version seems a bit quieter and toned down a bit more than the original. A bit of that rawness and edginess that made the first one a classic seemed to be absent from this version, but still a good flick and definitely worth a watch!

The plot exists for a lot of stupid gags. You either like this formula or don't. In the vein of Police Squad, Airplane & Hot Shots!

It's a strange sequel, the jokes are mostly the same, and the plot is the same, but it feels like something is missing, and as a viewer, I've seen the original 3 parts a hundred times, but this is a good attempt at nostalgia.

Nowhere near as good as people make it out ot be. Neeson is a good 10 years too old for the part. It doesn't do enough to flesh out any of the characters. It tries desperately to be funny, but none of the gags got even a smile out of me, and this is coming from someone who is a huge fan of the original trilogy and TV show. I can't say I am surprised, considering the people who wrote it, that this movie ****.

I threw on The Naked Gun again and yeah, it’s an easy 7/10 for me. It’s stupid in the best possible way and honestly had me laughing way more than I expected. The whole baseball sequence still destroys me — the way Frank keeps making everything worse, like he’s physically incapable of not turning a simple moment into total **** the Reggie Jackson brainwashing bit? Completely ridiculous, but that’s exactly why it works. It’s the kind of comedy that makes you think, “There’s no way they’re really going there,” and then they absolutely go there. I’ll admit it feels a little long in a couple spots, but I didn’t really mind. I was just sitting there with a dumb smile on my face the whole time.Stupid, goofy, fun — exactly what I wanted.

A fine movie that's equal parts silly and hilarious. It pays a lot of homage to the original so I'm interested in hearing if anyone who hadn't seen that would care. There's honestly not a whole lot of movies like this anymore, so it was great to see. Liam Neeson plays the part perfectly, and I genuinely had no idea Pamela was Beth until I saw the credits. If you're expecting anything other than a goofy movie that just exists for some good laughs you will not want to watch this. If you're into comedy though I would suggest this to anyone who hasn't already viewed it.

It’s a ridiculous fun movie. If you liked the originals, you will probably like this. It feels like it’s a constant barrage of jokes, and if one doesn't hit, don’t worry because another is coming in 10 seconds.

A lot of the humour is very naked gun and on point. Liam neeson himself does a great job and seeing Pamela on the big screen is a joy. I was quite taken aback by how fantastic she still looks. Unfortunately the plot itself seems like an afterthought. It's merely just a vehicle to support the gags. Completely unimaginative and dull. If more energy was put into actually making this a decent interesting movie instead of just a reel of gags then it may have worked. At just over 1 hour and 20 minutes long it's far too short.

I laughed and that's all the mattered. There's some classic Leslie Neilson type humor in there and some newer Seth McFarlane raunchy and sexual humor stuff as well. We need more comedies these days.

This is one of the worst movies ever made. It's unfunny with cheap dialogue and bad jokes. It's a mix of fantasy, hero and failed comedy. Watching this film felt like a waste of money and time. Torture. It insults the original movies, which you can watch a thousand times without losing entertainment value. This is a trash film that offers even less than what you get from the trailer. What's wrong with movies these days? And why do some people enjoy this? That's concerning.

Giving it a 2 because...I mean, I guess they tried. In all reality, this is the WORST Naked Gun movie. It's completely disrespectful to the legacy that they relied, and leaned so heavily on. The jokes were delivered with such robotic approach, as if the actors have no idea what deadpan humor is. On top of everything, it was Liam Neeson who basically has been stuck in the movie, "Taken," all of these years and never, "took," himself out of that character. Along with miss can't act for s*** Anderson. No one can replace the comedic timing and unpredictability of Leslie in a, "Naked Gun" film. I had to go back and watch the originals just to get this one out of my memory.

Fun watch, great recurring gags done just right. Has convinced me to watch the originals, so ill be getting round to it. All the cast did a great job.

If you’ve seen the originals, you know exactly what to expect — pure nonsense, ridiculous situations, intentional continuity errors, and completely illogical timelines. And this new installment doesn’t disappoint: the spirit and humor are all there. Both a reboot (the characters share the same names) and a sequel (they’re actually the children of the original ones), it’s a delight to see Drebin reborn through Liam Neeson — who, fittingly, keeps the “LN” initials of Leslie Nielsen. After so many serious roles, Neeson gleefully destroys his tough-guy image to play a clueless old cop, and it works brilliantly. I haven’t laughed this hard at a comedy in years — it’s that classic SNL-style absurdity done right. At just 1h26 including credits, it’s perfectly timed, never overstaying its welcome. Special mention to the running coffee gag, which stops just when it should… only to return at the end for one last perfectly timed laugh.

This might just be my favorite comedy movie with enough mystery and intrigue to keep you engaged and not just waiting for the next joke. I saw this with friends in the theater, which I only mention because I believe that kind of environment helps a lot with just really getting into the comedic spirit; we all laughed very hard throughout the majority of the movie.

Fun and raunchy, I love a good stupid comedy. This movie just leans into the easy gags and jokes which is refreshing. No overt political lectures just a good comedy that makes you forget reality for a bit.

Few comedy sagas have left such a lasting mark as The Naked Gun. The first film from 1988 is still one of my all-time favorites, a true benchmark of how far absurd humor can go when played completely straight. And it’s impossible to watch this new installment without comparing it, knowing that without Leslie Nielsen nothing could ever be the same.Liam Neeson takes on the role with courage and, although he gives it his all, he never quite reaches Nielsen’s level. The magic of those movies wasn’t only in the ridiculous scripts but also in the dead-serious way they were performed, something that here feels more forced.Even so, the film manages to deliver plenty of laughs thanks to its barrage of absurd gags, piling on one after another until the runtime flies by. It’s a sincere homage that respects the spirit of the saga, even if the formula no longer feels as fresh as **** may not be as memorable as the originals, but it does achieve something important: bringing back to the big screen a kind of comedy that seemed to be gone. And just for making me laugh the way I hadn’t in years, it’s worth celebrating.

I hate to say it but it's not great. A few bits made me laugh. Alot is trying to hard to be like the original but Leslie was the magic you can't duplicate. It felt a little out of place, in all 3 original there was a comical but solid script but this felt all over the place.

I appreciate having a weird, random, silly slapstick comedy in 2025. Some of the jokes did get a genuine chuckle out of me.That said, it never quite rises to the level of a laugh-out-loud riot, and it doesn’t fully capture the magic of the original.Still, it’s worth a watch, if only for the sheer ridiculousness of seeing a bunch of kids get beat up.

The material isn't easy :) Not everyone will be impressed. It's a one-to-one rehash of the old gags, narrative style, and character development of the old Naked Guns. This film could have just as easily been released in the '90s and would have blended seamlessly with those films. Which is beautiful—because it's a time machine transporting us to the nostalgia of those times. But it's also pure old school, not for everyone... it's so pleasantly "off"... that it's refreshing compared to what Netflix serves up.

Carrying on the absurd and nonsensical charm of the original trilogy, the new The Naked Gun borrows some gags from the classics while inventing a few of its own. Some land perfectly, others push the absurdity even further than the originals. Amid these highs and lows, the film surprisingly rekindles the long-lost flavor of an action comedy that’s rare to find today.

This movies is hella funny. Nice homage to the original series. Has to be the best slapstick comedy to come out in at least ten years, if not more.

I'm sorry to have to say this, but the film's humor doesn't work. Even though it copies the situational, fourth-wall-breaking humor of the original trilogy one-for-one. Not for a single millisecond did a smile cross my face during the film, and I didn't understand why, even though everything should have worked: the chemistry between the two main characters, the cartoonish humor, but still, it didn't. Then I realized what the problem was: the medium. The fact that it wasn't shot on celluloid, the realism that achieved the cartoon-like dream world with practical effects is lost.

Unfunny sequel to the classic series is not from a lack of trying from its casts. It's just all the best jokes have been shown in the trailers. Too bad as I was expecting this to be a laugh riot.

The gags feel very forced, and Liam Neeson doesn’t have the same charm that Leslie Nielsen brought to that kind of comedy. Nielsen was a perfect fit for it. While I appreciate Liam Neeson’s effort, it just wasn’t enough. For me, this movie is meh.

(Mauro Lanari) The choice of Neeson is spot-on for a parody of himself as an action hero, and you don't need to be nostalgic to enjoy the gags, though some miss the mark. American comedies often throw together every flavor of humor, from dumb to absurd, caustic to irreverent, surreal to scatological, ridiculous to refined, buffoonish to vulgar. And MacFarlane, here as a producer, has a certain predilection for the latter kind, which doesn't amuse me at all.

The movie was off to a good start, the bank scene was well thought of and executed but after that, it was unfortunately all downhill... Casting Pamela Anderson was a mistake, the point of the original trilogy is to have someone who is trustworthy and an airhead. As for casting Liam Neeson in the role of Frank Drebin Jr, again it doesn't work: Drebin is a well intentioned fool, not a supercop who is doing all this rambo stuff whilst being abnormally self aware. Let's hope they do NOT make another one, please allow us to enjoy the original trilogy and Liam & Pamela enjoy their retirement home.

The movie industry desperately needs more comedy's like this! While it can't quite match the wit of the original movies, it isn't afraid to poke fun at itself and take us along for the ride. Switch off your higher brain functions and let in the silliness!

O filme parece ter duas horas de duração, e o Liam Neeson definitivamente não tem talento algum pra piada. Ainda bem que o roteiro e a direção tratam isso aqui com muito carinho e respeito à franquia, de modo que o todo é deliciosamente nostálgico, e com muitas piadas (especialmente as gags visuais) que funcionam. Eu particularmente não achei tão engraçado quanto gostaria, mas há inúmeras referências aqui e uma disposição em agradar grandiosa, e o que é melhor, a história em sim até é espertinha. Filme para curtir despretensiosamente e louvar o cinema de referências, com piadas espertas. E como é bom ver um filme não se levar a sério, prefiro muito mais um assim do que aqueles que não enxergam o próprio ridículo.

Its nearly unbelievable but hey can still make good comedy movies in Hollywood and this is a worthy successor in the franchise. It might not be as good as the first 2 movies but left me more than satisfied. They are bold enough to make political incorrect jokes which is rare nowadays. Lets start at the beginning. The naked Gun movies were classic comedy movies that were hugely successful and beloved by fans. At their time comedy / spoof / parody movies were mostly really good. Then came a dark age for the genre with horrible movies. A lot of us thought the genre is dead. But back to the topic. The strengths of the old movies were good writing, a grasp of good jokes with the right pacing and Leslie Nielsen who can be dead serious in the most hilarious situations. I must point out that the rest of the cast was incredibly good too. This was a mayor sorrow for the new movie. Can Liam Neeson deliver and are they able to make non HR sanitized fun. I went to cinema with friends in a nostalgic felling as we watched the old movie(s) back then in cinema too. We feared that the movie would not hold up but it delivered. We laughed a lot and were entertained. Like I said they make some political incorrect jokes, fun of modern things, running gags and more. Liam Neeson was incredibly good. He channeled Leslie Nielson perfectly. The rest of the cast is great too with maybe the exception of the Villain. The story is a vehicle for the jokes and self aware of it which I don't mind. It is maybe a strength for a comedy. I think I said enough for the review. Overall it was an enjoyable experience and had good jokes taht I still remember. I give an 8/10 and hope we get sequels.

This movie is a love letter to the original Naked Gun films, Police Squad, and 80's slapstick comedy in general.Liam Neeson blows it out of the park and is a perfect successor to Leslie **** face hurt from smiling the entire time.

This isn't a perfect reboot/sequel just because of how many decades it's been since the last naked gun film and how acceptable joke have changed since then, but you can tell that the writer and director really understood why the originals were funny and beloved. Your enjoyment of this film will depend on if you watched the originals or other surreal spoof comedies like airplane or the original scary movie films. If you haven't then the humour in this won't make much sense, but if you did then you'll be surpised that Hollywood can still make films like this. Personally I'm glad this worked out. The last thing I wanted was another Pink Panther 2006 type film. For the most part most of the jokes land both the slapstick ones and the deeper funnier ones. There's still some jokes that they clearly left out like the ones in the original where Pricilla Presley's character would have been the ditsy blond, but for the most part it all works.

Anos depois, Seth MacFarlane assumiu como produtor e entregou a direção a Akiva Schaffer, escolha ideal para conduzir uma continuação que dialoga com a nostalgia e adapta o estilo para os tempos atuais.E aqui está o primeiro grande mérito: o filme não tenta copiar Nielsen. Seria impossível repetir o estilo único do ator, e qualquer tentativa soaria artificial. Em vez disso, aposta em um humor que homenageia o original, mas atualiza as piadas, equilibrando referências ao passado com ritmo que conversa com o público contemporâneo.
