I'm starting to realize that this game style might be a guilty pleasure of mine. Gameplay is simple, and the battle system is much more frustrating than it has any right to be. The story is amazing here, and what truly makes this game shine. You'll be playing through multiple times to get some of the alternate endings, and the true storyline is grade A stuff. If they put more effort into everything else this could very easily end up a 10/10 series.

Calling this a game is charitable, so this review is more on Dispatch as an experience. The actual gameplay parts can feel very hectic, frustrating, and at the same time rewarding and exciting. This is the actual dispatch part of the game. The hacking in it, is too simple at the start, and then ultimately infuriating towards the end, seriously poor design there. The story is ultimately where this game gets it killer score, and it is ultimately deserved. I'm sure everyone who plays through will be left feeling that while the narrative is complete, we would love some more!

A tactical RPG mixed with being a Danganronpa. It features some interesting concepts, and fun yet brutal gameplay. However if you aren't just a complete Danganronpa stan I can't imagine you would remotely enjoy this. The characters in the game are the usual suspects, caricatures of anything resembling a human being that are simultaneously too stupid to handle the most menial task such as asking a question, yet geniuses who will invent immortality and godhood. it is frustrating enough to want to bang your head against a wall, as actual children could probably "solve the mystery" within a day. The battles while being challenging are really tough because it consists of setting up one of the few characters than actually deal damage, and then trying to keep them alive long enough to slay the boss. The rest of the characters are honestly just there for the few times when you are wiping on waves of trash, which is the most prevalent enemies. They have a free time period that is too short, and also involves repeat dialogue every single time. If you're actually reading this then you probably didn't already buy the game, and I couldn't advise you to do so either.

This game is incredibly fun and addicting. Probably the best story based medieval life simulator out there. That being said I have two big gripes with it. For one, I really wish there was a way to figure out what the heck the game wants me to do. A quest marker, or beam of light to lead me to where I need to be. Being a life simulator it already takes a huge amount of time to do real life things, and wondering around aimlessly before I finally go search up the walkthrough is far from enjoyable. Last gripe with the game is simply that I'm forced to do every little thing. I can't stay away from stealth, or alchemy, or blacksmithing. You have to do every little thing, at the point in the game in which it wants you to do these things. Kind of kills the desire to replay later for a different build. Great game though, and one you'll get not just several hours but easily days of entertainment out of.

This game definitely wasn't what I was expecting, and maybe that's technically on me. whenever I looked at other games in the series I imagined a contained map RPG, with elements similar to something like an elder scrolls game with vampires. What I got is a singular story action adventure platformer, where each fight is dodging and punching sponges. There is a marker for side quests but 2 days of gameplay in there are zero side quests and I can't even enter a place without the story forcing me to go there. Even the choices seem to have no effect on anything happening in the game. Not sure how it took so long to develop, considering games have done more and been more impressive on the PS3.

Tried this one back on the DS and could never bring myself to play more than a few hours out of one day. This release is a full on reimagining though, and I would love to see more of this from the series. The game features some very hectic and fast gameplay that while you wouldn't expect to work well in a cozy farming sim, I enjoyed enough to keep playing. There's a lot of very strong roadblocks in the game however that will keep it from ever reaching even the top 10 of the series. If the only way to progress (level wise) is festivals than there needs to be a lot more of them.

A masterpiece in the monster taming genre that I truly hope everyone learns from. Digimon is one of my favorite franchises out there, and this game is undoubtedly my favorite of the year. All that is consideration I'm judging it as a game. As for being a game released today I have a few issues with the release. One major one being that it oddly didn't have enough time to cook somehow, or perhaps just Bandai Namco cares too little for the series. Meaning there weren't enough people working on it. There's a few places where I feel there was supposed to be a scene but it just kind of quick cuts (I have not pressed the skip button once.) Also there's a part where I was doing a mission and instead of seeing the character and having dialogue the only thing visible is a black screen. It acts as if I'm initiate dialogue choices but I couldn't tell you what they are so I just backed out of it and gave up on that mission. The last negative issue is the DLC. this was all announced months before they even handed out demos for people to try out the game so it's all actually just cut content, which in my opinion is the biggest stain on this industry. Great game, and I would encourage all Digimon fans to pick it up. Certainly worth the experience!

An addictive waste of time. This game is fun undoubtedly, If you enjoy games that swallow up a lot of your time like the Sims or Animal Crossing you'll probably fall in love with this one as well. Kind of like those games there isn't really an end to them, but also like those games you'll want to use some cheats to really have fun with it. The physics engine can mess up at times and it only take one second for you to have your life quickly snuffed out by a tree, losing all of your progress for the day. If you don't mind the grind and love building I would suggest giving this one a shot!

I finally got around to playing the game as it became free on Game Pass. I can honestly say I'm glad I waited for that price point, because I can't imagine people having spent $100 or more on this. Dragon Age has been one of my favorite series in the past. I have a platinum trophy on each of the previous games and their DLC. However, I couldn't bring myself to even finish this one. I can't say it's as bad as all the rants I've been hearing, but it is however far from fun. the combat is fine at first but doing the same three moves through a story dragged out by fighting the same three watered down enemies over and over will get grating fast. The equipment system is closer to a looter shooter so don't even try to like any of the items you have equipped. For the life of me I will never understand why EA decided all their games needed to be bad, but with their failure as a company I can only hope the creators of the original games find a home where they can realize their creative talents once more. A sad end for a beloved series.

This game is a step up from the previous games in the series in every single way. It's incredibly fun and I'd advise anyone, fan of the series or not to play it. The only issue I have with the game is that I want more it! Shame it won't ever release on a real console...

I'm not entirely sure how it took so long to make a game that was worse than it's predecessor in every way. I'm playing it about 1 week after it came out due to shipping issues, and some voice lines don't activate and the game crashed randomly. The gimmick in this one is worse than most of the previous versions, and there's barely anything new. Really missed out on the chance to add a lot more with what Bandai owns too. No reason to buy this game at it's current price. wait till it goes down, most likely next month it'll be cheaper than SRW30.

Fun and simple, with addictive gameplay loop that you'll sink hours into before you know it. While this is Cleary based on the similar princess games, it was mostly developed by two young men throughout college. I believe my previous adjectives describe the game best, but if you're into either life sims or visual novels you'll want to give this a try. Multiple endings will have you replaying this one over and over.

We finally get a protag who isn't the worst person in her world and they blew it. The game can look pretty at times, but unfortunately that's the only positive it has going for it. You will rarely be doing any alchemy, which is mostly a positive, since crating anything involves a process that will take you several minutes to complete. The battle system has been overhauled into something that's overly complicated and incredibly easy to win. The new engine clearly could have used some more time in development, because it glitches, stutters, slows down and even once just didn't even show the characters in a battle. Battles take place in their own world, consuming lots of time, and once placing you back in the world can put you in some pretty bad spots. Once it sent me nearly half way across the unlocked map. I'm glad that they're changing up the formula, but this really wasn't the way to do it. Atelier games really need to be alchemy focused, instead of trying to be some other game. Really disappointed in this title, and developer as a whole.

I had stepped away from the series for a bit because everything had been just a whole lot of repetition. This game has been a whole lot of fun and I'm glad I picked it up after viewing the sea battles. There's a whole lot to do in the base game here. So much so that it's hard to imagine playing anything else for a long while. The battles can get repetitive again, but there are ways to avoid them, and the voice acting in places can be weak or even non existent. Still this is a super fun game that Yakuza fans are going to want to own. The ship fights are a lot of fun.

A really good game. Honestly it makes me want to play some more Pillars of Eternity titles to absorb more of the lore, especially with Dragon Age forever missing now. The story is fun, and interesting the combat and choices feel different enough that I intend to play it at least a few more times, and most importantly there's closure. The dialogue can be a bit silly at times, and the enemies could use more variety for sure. Other than that though this is a great game. I really hope we get some more. After doing the "Bad Guy" playthrough I lowered the score on my review. They either didn't expect anyone to, or weren't prepared for it. Either way that's a negative I didn't see on my initial playthrough.

Brings back a lot of the fun of the old Overwatch, which isn't surprising since these peeps made it. If you're not happy with Overwatch2, if you like hero shooters, or are just looking for a good time with friends this game is for you. Fair warning, some of the characters can be hard to learn.

Let me start out by saying I was really looking forward to this game. The promotional materials made it looks really fun and unique. As I started playing however the game felt clunky and basic. I was hoping getting to a sky battle would help me feel better about the experience, However the first "Sky battle" which is supposed to be the tutorial did the exact opposite. First off your tiny ship is unusually big for the landscape, and while that could be easy to ignored, handling of the ship was a nightmare. The first time I attempted the game's tutorial it crashed. I figured it just needed a patch and I should wait. Tried to play a month later and unfortunately it worked long enough to get me to the first battle. I died without even knowing what was going on. I'm not sure I have enough words to express my disappointment with this few of character so I'll just give it my rating instead. Even when the game can function you wont really want it to.

An incredibly fun SMT game for anyone who wants/needs to play more from this incredible crew. Hopefully this means they'll be branching out with this style of gameplay more and more. It's addictive fun and has enough customization to keep any role-player happy. The only real problem is that there isn't more of it. Story wise (comparing to the persona series) I would say this is the third best in the series, with only Persona 4 and 5 above it.

The series is sadly getting pretty worn out at this point. This does nothing to separate itself from the other games in this series. You could have told me this was (any other numbered) game in the series and I would believe it. The cheap sound pack also very quickly can become annoying. I am a big fan of this series and truly hope they can kick things up even a single notch for the next game.

Easily the weakest Hoyoverse game out there. the graphics are mostly fine, plenty of bubbly and bouncy anime girls, but the real issue is there's much better games to find that in. The comic book scenes feel lazy, the fighting is small and uninspired with incredibly spongey enemies. Worst of all the voice actors don't sound like they've even seen another human being. I can only imagine they're reading their lines without any clue what the actual dialogue is.

Genuinely a masterclass of an RPG. I don't know how anyone could be on the fence about this game if they are a fan of RPGs at all. Only issues with this are the Plastic like graphics developed for the switch, and how wild the difficulty scaling is. If you've ever played an SMT game you know what to expect. This game is fantastically dark, with much more depth than damn near all other monster taming games.

Near perfect strategy, an certain to be the best game for a little while. If you're a fan of the genre there's really no reason not to pick this one up. Only complaints are that there's far too many characters, especially whenever the ones you get later on end up being so much better. it can become near impossible to decide on parties whenever you're trying to min man while keeping a fave you picked up from battle 3. Last Gripe is that whenever you increase difficulty you get significantly less from your winnings. Harder difficulties would see me getting locked out of features I unlocked for 3-8 battles, unless I went and grinded the trial levels. Which meant that higher difficulty mostly means SIGNIFIGANT grinding.

The game has a lot of the core features down solid. The story itself is both interesting enough and the characters are enjoyable enough to want to complete. That being said, I could not. It is interesting that even all this time after the original digital release they couldn't fix the game enough. I might have been able to smash my head against the problem long enough to get through it, but then the rest is just so underwhelming. The fight portion of the game is easily the worse part of the game. There's a lot of fun RPG elements held back by some of the worst visuals in any game released in a long time, and just the usual pushing the same buttons you get with action RPGs. The game is also incomprehensibly dark. Perhaps this is to hide the poorly designed 3D models in game, but it hinders the game as a whole when you can't see anything happening. I can see this is an indie developer which is honestly the real reason I rated a game I wont even complete higher than a 1. Looking forward to seeing more from the developer though, and despite my issues with the game I look forward to seeing what the developer can do in the future and hoping they mad enough to improve on those core principals.

The last one was too easy, so they decided to make this one harder it seems. So weird that a series that understands it's first game was so good they can sell it 6 Plus times even after 20 years has no clue about what made it good in the first place. They kept a lot of the things that made 6 bad, like the 3D visuals, sorry camera angles and lack luster controls. For some reason they thought the Autobattle was an issue from the previous game whenever I felt it was the only saving point for the game. The story ended up just plain dumb thanks to them trying to amp the difficulty. You're traveling with a billionaire capable of buying their own war ship but you can't afford to use the hospital on your own ship.... From some info I was reading it seems like they did this to try and force people into buying their extreme DLCs. The DLC appears to not even be working for most people, and there's pages of the garbage. They even went and set the pallet swaps that were free in every other game on the DLC page for a premium. The main reason I even bought this game myself was because I was happy they were releasing it on the PS5 at the same time as Switch. I definitely regret the purchase and with any luck this will be the last game in the series.

A decent action RPG with enough to do to keep any completionist busy for a decent amount of time. The different fighting styles and spirits you have access to help to keep the game from becoming boring too quickly. Some of the tasks you might end up undertaking to achieve all trophies could certainly bore any gamer however. This is a type moon game to the story isn't going to be anything sensible or endearing. The art is on par with everything else released in the genre of any value. If you're a fan of Type Moon games, than definitely grab this, if you're a fan of action RPGs it's another must add to the collection. Hoping we can see more games in the Fate series done within different time frames, although admittedly I would prefer another turn based RPG or Fighter.

There appears to be a fun campy game here. The idea is unfortunately where the fun ends however, as the game really doesn't run on the PS5. I had three crashes and several cut scenes that just weren't playing as I attempted the game. So many of the stages are simple repeats, and you'll find yourself doing the same thing on those maps over and over again. That I could deal with if it wasn't for the gun play. Often times the pistol, or a single rifle is your only viable weapon as ever other weapon has so much drift you will never hit your opponents. Add that with the fact that the game is brutally hard, fighting at minimum 12 swarms of gangsters, or at minimum three cops that spawned from anywhere on the map. You're expected to level up and die and restart constantly until you get one good run, which isn't the worse thing in the world, but the main issue with that is the difficulty keeps ramping up alongside you, so at no point does anything ever get more manageable.

A very overly complicated walking simulator. Seriously everything seems to be poorly developed and rough. Carrying too much will kill you, but the inventory is a nightmare, tried modding the game just to make the systems work and it it still was so complicated that after two days I couldn't manage to do the thing I wanted to. You don't build characters so much as have pointless skills that you will be forcing yourself through just so you can have a conversation with someone, or attempt to play the game a certain way. Whole buildings in the game are completely recycled on other planets too, to the point where I was able to shoot people without even seeing them because I knew they would be there. Also the story feels bare bones, the characters you play with are mostly lifeless, possibly written by an AI? If you want to play a walking simulator because you have too much money there's Death Stranding. If you want to play space exploration there's No Man's Sky. This game is way too expensive for what it is, and is sadly lesser than the games (from this very developer) before it. Sometime it looks pretty though.... Sometimes.

A full game, with no microtransactions or DLC in 2023?! That alone would easily place this game at a 6 on the scale today, however that's far from this titles only accolade. The game is just fun in general. With plenty of storied characters to choose from, as well as custom characters for a more unique playthrough. The dialogue, branching paths, and even online multiplayer will have you not just excited to finish your story but to begin your next one immediately after. This is an example **** done extremely well, and we can only hope beyond hope to get more games like it. Well worth the price of purchase, as I can't see anyone finding a reason to hate the game. In fact I believe this is one of those titles that several years later will have people delving into it's many stories and secrets.

Another fun strategy RPG from the Mercenaries crew. There's a whole lot of the same here from the previous entry (Phoenix) which is the only thing preventing this game from being a 9/10. The only real change I can find from my playthrough is that synthesis has been upgraded. The upgraded synthesis is great and makes starting out the game on a harder difficulty much more manageable in comparison to the previous entry. As I stated in that review, these games are just a really fun return to basics that can feel refreshing whenever so many others become too cooky. If they just added some more classes, or made moves feel less of the same it could truly be perfect. The mercenaries series as a whole is a must play for any for of Strategy RPGs.

The game feels fun, and I want to enjoy it but holy **** is there a whole bunch of issues! This is day 2 that I get my copy in the mail. It's an 11+ GB download so probably the whole game, and on mission 2 I can't complete the requests, because it's broken down. I just want to have fun building a theme park, why launch before finish? There's over a hundred of these game at this point?! So frustrating!

This game honestly just doesn't have what it's predecessor does. Miles and the changes from his comic book appearances are all perfectly fine within the game, although the voice actor feels a bit bland. (probably due to having seen into the Spider-Verse) I don't think that's really on the voice actor. The game itself though felt like it was just trying to do too much. I tried to sit down and play through the whole thing and I was forgetting some of 50+ buttons for a certain action or another. I can't imagine putting this game down for a week or more and trying to come back. Also I thought stealth inside of action games like this was a recognized faux pas, why is it featured so heavily in this game?! A decent game, and looks fantastic on the PS5 especially with some of the features they added. The story, visuals, and sounds are all excellent, the gameplay is a bust however. Hopefully in the next spider-man game they'll tone down some of this nonsense, but chances seem high that they'll simply add more.

A super fun hero shooter. It's on it's third season as of review, and I think the PlayStation version launched mid season 2. Either way the PS5 is my preferred way to play and I enjoy it thoroughly. That being said, I feel like the tanky units could play considerably better and I understand how someone whose not playing with a "team" could find the game frustrating/hard. Can't wait to see what else they do with this series.

This game is a hot mess to put it lightly. I was aware of all of the negatives going into my first attempt, which might have softened the blow for myself. The game wont even work on my PC which is admittedly outdated and can't run some of the large triple A titles. I played on the One X instead, and found out that for the Xbox One console it only plays Cloud Gaming. Graphically it's far from being anything you would expect from a modern game and trying to play is a chore all in of itself. Both times I tried to play I used controller, and the sensitivity at it's lowest setting is so intense that trying to move slightly turns your character almost entirely to the left or right. I feel like underneath there is a decent game at it's core. Nothing exceptional, nothing better than half of what was released in the last 5 years, but decent. I hope eventually this gets patched enough to be playable to I can at least experience half of what Arcane intended for it's audience. Until then, under no circumstances should ANYONE pay $70 for this game. Even after patches, I would suggest waiting till the price comes down. Maybe then it will feel more like a game worth the price.

A refreshing call back to basics for the Strategy RPG genre. Honestly I would place this one above some fire Emblem games (Especially Engage.) The classes and difference in characters will have you plotting how to best utilize each one, while never really locking you out of options like others in it's genre. There's two different stories which are both vastly different and enjoyable! The higher difficulty can be absolutely brutal too for anyone whose looking for a challenge. Honestly my only discrepancy with the game itself is that there isn't a true New Game+. in New game+ you only get to carry over certain items which while making your next run a bit easier, makes it feel crazy grindy to try and grab the level 99 Trophy. Not something that will even bother most players, just those of us that seek the coveted Platinum Trophies.

I do enjoy the game. If you're looking for a strategy RPG there are certainly worse ones out there. With all that the battles are just brutally long. I found myself stopping my gameplay after every 2-3 battles, mostly because if I started another I was afraid I would be late for my responsibilities. If you've got time to spend though the story is interesting enough (if not strange and cheesy.) I hope at some point I can get the time to finish it, but I'm afraid for now I'll have to move on. Really could have excelled with either shorter battles or an auto battle system.

You're much better off playing the Resident Evil 4 Refresh on the PS4 than you are playing this one. It's not a remake of that game, but instead trying to make that game something else. Resident Evil 4 was my favorite in the series which might make the game itself sit a lot weaker for me, so I'll point out all the issues. The difficulty is insane at parts, the knife (which you could solo the game with) break on second use, the controls are clunky, the character is extremely slow. One of the worst parts of the game is it wants you to rush through it, experiencing as little of the game as possible. It has absurd micro transactions and the very small amount of gameplay is apparently the only thing to experience, so certainly better off picking this one up after it hits the discount bin, or not at all. Again I'd advise picking up the refresh.

I wanted to play this whenever it came out, but with so many other games and the fact that I don't care for the "warriors" game so much I passed it up. That being said I really shouldn't have! This game is easily the best warriors game I'm ever played. The story is fun and exist in a non canonical world separate to the original (Three houses) one. There's a lot of repeats of the things that make three houses fun, and I can't imagine why anyone who enjoyed three houses wouldn't enjoy this title. Not only is it the best Warrior game but it might just be the best fire emblem game! Certainly tied with three houses at least. Also there's flipping strategies on the battle field!!! *Mind Blown!*

The game play is fun and plenty tough. There's a whole lot of extra stuff that doesn't really add anything to the game and will be quite cumbersome for those looking to max out. Worst thing about the game is the story though. The characters are all forgettable and the dialogue for support is completely soulless. If you've plaid every other tactical RPG out there you could get this one, but that seems pretty unlikely. Wait for it to go down in price if you want this one for your collection. Also say one DLC being the only way to get the heroes from the last game is pretty disgusting.

The rumors are true. This game is an absolute broken mess. It seems a lot of people are ready to forgive Pokemon while Cyberpunk was crucified and refunds were demanded. I however have no obsession with Nintendo so here's an honest review. This is the worst running game on the switch in dock mode, it feels like it should have never been released on the switch. It's crashed more than Legends Arceus which is a superior pokemon game,

There's a whole lot of review bombing with this one in one direction or another, so here's a real review. The game looks far greater than it's predecessor, the combat is exactly the same, and so is just about everything else. The bad side of this is that it's on the switch. Those better graphics will take minutes or just not even pop in a good portion of the time. I have had the game green screen and then crash during gameplay losing everything I did within a day as well. The controls of the Switch also get in the way, where i have accidentally killed myself eating something in my hands instead of throwing it as well. Also because the controls take so long to register I've also killed myself just farming which is great fun. If you're a fan of the series, wait for it to come way down in price, or better yet come out on a video game system. If not, then why are you even reading this?

The best, terrible game ever! This game has a lot of fun aspects to it and oh man, do i wish it was good. Unfortunately the thing holding Monark back is the combat. There are no random battles so you are expected to grind the stages you already beat for days just to acquire enough spirit to continue playing the game. That is a hell of a stain for a game that is otherwise fun and gorgeous.

Was already happy to see they were making another game for my favorite one in the series, but was also skeptical based on how much I hated the Ryza games which other's seemed to love so much. Glad to say that this one is a return to normal. No more spoiled children destroying home and family. No more complexity for complexity's sake. No more days passing in the literal blink of an eye. Just some good old fashioned alchemy with one of the best (if not the best) alchemist in the game. There are plenty of additions to make the game feel fresh of it's part one, and the story is interesting without any wash cloth characters to drag it down. The graphics look fine, and the music doesn't quite feel as good as the previous one but nothing bad is in there either. It's a great game, that I'm happy to have in my collection!

Bare bones fighter with no substance. Was excited to get a smash clone on an actual system but oh man was this bad. Lots of people talking about how there's no voice acting and that is correct; It's sad but no excuse for poor sound design. There's almost no sound except for the music which is forgettable at best, makes a bad game even worse. Didn't play all the stages but the ones I did play felt awful. super tiny stages that make fights last an actual second some times, and the only difference between some (other than the aesthetics) are you just have to try and continue to jump out instead of the floor hazards straight killing you. the worst offender in this game are the controls. the only way to jump is to press the triangle which makes battle next to impossible. Seriously, why release something with so little effort?

Well they remade the worst pokemon game. It's actually odd to me that they would remake a pokemon game that's universally known as the worst in the franchise, but seeing as they gave it to someone else entirely to do it's a bit more understandable. It looks terrible. I know it's switch, so you have to cut it some slack but at the point of making this the originals can be bought for less than the 60 dollar asking price so why pay so much more for something that already looks so dated? It's choppy and slow, and buggy. It takes a wild amount of time to start up. At least 4 times the amount of a sword and shield start up. there's all kinds of weird art decisions which can be nice at times and then down right WTF at others. A lot people have been exploiting all the bugs to give the game some sort of enjoyment out of the game. Which is fine, games have their bugs and exploiting them is also part of the fun at times, but whenever they patched these they broke other functions within the game that were actually declined to be achieved in the game after you had beaten it. So perhaps they just decided to punish new players and current ones who actually use their switch for anything other than cheating. Not worth the time. Certainly no where close to the price. You can find the better version of these games used on ebay. And they will work considerably better.

Fun game, staying true to the SMT franchise without the annoying dungeon crawling. Definitely feels like good game direction for the series. However the sprawling open worlds brings up this games main, glaring issue. It's on the Switch. Only plaid on TV so can't speak for how bad it plays in handheld but things look a bit gross, like the background is all cardboard cutouts being moved by children. Better off waiting for the game to come out on a real console.

A remake, of a remake, this game was originally titled Harvest Moon: Back to Nature. They later de-made it into friends of mineral town on the GBA. If you're a fan of either of those I would suggest getting this game. It's a fairly faithful adaptation and they added a decent amount of new that is certainly a step up from those games. If you haven't however, you're better off playing Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town. Really wish they would have done a bit more bringing it up to speed with current games, and also a bit disappointed that there's not a way to switch between the original art like there is in so many other remakes now days. That being said I am a huge fan of the original and am enjoying replaying through it for the 100th time (that might not be an exaggeration). Biggest gripe is that they didn't include the DLC from the switch game despite the fact that they put the new price tag on it again.

A classic game which can be a good amount of fun just as any shmup can. The enemies are interesting enough, the controls simple, and bosses offer a fun bit of challenge. Where I feel this game really shines though is in doing some timed runs with friends. Competing with a friend or three in short, timed burst is an addictive good time!

If you're a hardcore tales fan I imagine you'll find a lot to love here. While I did enjoy the game and am glad I bought it I feel like the story wasn't nearly as good as Berseria, nor the art direction. I can understand that they wanted to go with flashier graphics so I wont hold the last part against them though. The combat feels the weakest here to me though with all the character constantly being needed for one type of mob or another, you can't actually find a way to play that feels fun and just run with it like I did in previous iterations. Last gripe from me is the load times. I bought mine on PS4 and the load times while not atrocious are certainly noticeable. With the load times I feel like I would have enjoyed it quite a bit more playing on the PS5; if that console does even truly exist.

If you played the game's successor, Akiba'strip undead and undressed, and are expecting the more of the same, this will be a big disappointment. This game game is it's lesser in every way. The graphics, the voice acting, the weak game play, and the camera angles which can cause you to lose fights you should have no problem with, lead to a harrowing experience that I believe even the most hardcore of fans will become frustrated with. Pretty much the only positive aspect I can think to write here, is that it's nice to see older games getting released on newer consoles, and if you want to play the original without importing it and learning to read in a foreign language this will provide you with the ability to do so.

The game has real tonal issue, and it can be horribly confusing at times. Whenever I saw the trailer I was super interested in it based on the art alone. Once I heard it was the Danganronpa crew that made the game I felt that I really wanted to play it based on the fact that I felt the mechanics in that game are just the worst. Wasn't actually going to buy the game but ended up doing so after playing the demo. It's pretty much the most interesting thing on the switch. I just wish the switch could handle it. Three hours in and it's crashed twice. Fun game, poor console. ;/ Also like I said the game suffers from not being able to hold down a tone.
