Ok I get what we were doing but the casting was marginal, the plot and character development were marginal, and the overall delivery was again - marginal. If not for the Titanfall draw of a walking, talking mech that fights bad guys and androids with their own walking talking mechs . . . yeah it could have been a lot better.

Overall feels average. The movie features a strong bonding between a human & an ai war bot. That's feels nice. Good visuals. Story could be better & intense. Maybe a one time watch or u can skip it too.

Atlas (2024) A Must-Watch Sci-Fi Thrill Ride! Atlas is everything you want in a sci-fi action film. Intense, visually stunning, and packed with heart. Jennifer Lopez absolutely owns her role as Atlas Shepherd, a fiercely intelligent yet emotionally guarded analyst who’s forced to trust AI in order to save humanity. The film blends high-stakes action with deeper themes of trust, fear, and what it truly means to work alongside artificial **** visuals? Breathtaking. The tension? Constant. And the bond between Atlas and the AI? Surprisingly moving. It’s a perfect mix of action, suspense, and emotional depth that keeps you hooked from start to finish. If you love thought-provoking sci-fi with explosive action and a strong lead, Atlas is an absolute must-watch! 5/5 LOVED IT!

It’s a solid sci-fi movie with action, great visuals, and a strong performance from Jennifer Lopez. The story is exciting, and the AI-human dynamic is really **** you like sci-fi and action, give it a chance and decide for yourself. Don’t let negative reviews stop you from enjoying a good movie!

Look, I don’t know what movie some of these reviewers were watching, but Atlas (2024) was SO GOOD! Seriously, don’t let the negativity put you off- watch it for yourself and make up your own mind.Jennifer Lopez absolutely smashed it as Atlas Shepherd. The action? Intense. The visuals? Stunning. The AI-human dynamic? Way deeper than I expected. It’s got everything... suspense, emotion, and some proper “WOW” moments. Yeah, sure, no movie is perfect, but this one had me hooked from start to finish.I swear, sometimes people just love to hate on things for the sake of it. If you enjoy sci-fi, action, and a solid lead performance, Atlas is 100% worth your time. Trust your own instincts, not random reviews. Go watch it, then come back and tell me I was right.

Atlas is normal sci-fi out there and a typical Netflix; it's one of the fillers on Netflix to get people to keep steaming. There were some solid performances from some of the cast members while others were just there. The movie spends so much time on Jenifer Lopez's robot, and it has a thin storyline. This is just a movie you watch while away time.

The trailer for this movie makes it look like an action film featuring cool fighting mechs - Basically the Titanfall movie. In reality, its a movie with about 1 minute of action, and the rest is J-Lo having childish tantrums by herself wandering around on an alien planet for virtually the entire film. It would be barable if the acting was decent, but botox has made her facial expressions all look identical. And the script feels like it CHATGPT was asked to create a generic scifi script with the literary intelligence of a 13 year old boy. I saw better film scripts in highschool. Its amazing to thing "The Creator" cost 20 million less than this smoking pile of garbage. Save yourself some time and skip this film

Not a brilliant film but as a flawed but fun action movie with mechs, I enjoyed it. I would watch a sequel. Certainly as good as other cyberpunk flops like terminator 3 or the live action ghost in the shell. As a Netflix movie it is not supposed to be a blockbuster. I would watch it again if a friend wanted to see it with me. Perhaps with a bigger budget and some reshoots, a few bigger action sequences, this could be an 8 or 9. Great to see J-Lo acting again, even if it looks like most her work was done in a studio. Perhaps she wanted to have her hair done nice in every shot. Seeing Jenny from the block makes this movie more watchable than without her. If you can't forgive the obviously low budget and CGI mixed with J-LO who is clearly not inside the mech, but sitting in a studio on a comfy chair, with nice hair and make-up, perhaps you skip this. The plot is a massive and unnecessary exposition dump without meaningful payoff but followed by some mech action and cheap CGI fun.

Netflix originals have about a 95% chance of being terrible but J-Lo churns out a solid performance in this Titanfall/Pacific Rim type movie. Not the worst movie ever but it was still disappointing

JLo is painful to watch. She acts a 1 dimensional character with cringe-worthy, irrational, moronic awareness of her situation. I found myself hoping she would get killed off just to stop the boorish travesty which is her acting. Her character is supposed to be "intelligent", however she acts a hysterical Karen with no awareness or forethought. It's a miracle I finished the movie. I don't usually write reviews for movies with such a low score however, this is an exception.

Wow - almost unwatchable! As someone who loves sci-fi, I found that I had to literally drag my way through this just in case it got better. It's simply awful! Why does Jennifer Lopez insist on trying to act? She really is one of the luckiest people on the planet to have gained success! She should let others who have some talent do the acting.

I'm surprised by all the hate for ATLAS. Sure, Jennifer's acting can be grating with all the whining and crying, and the "humanity bad" trope is tired. The forced progressive elements, like the mech suit pronoun bit, are also eye-roll worthy. But despite these flaws, I found ATLAS to be surprisingly entertaining and fun. Not many big-budget action movies manage to be enjoyable these days, so that's a plus. While it's not the best film out there, it delivers on action and spectacle. One major issue for me was the ending's message that AI should be treated like humans. That's just ridiculous. A machine is a machine, a human is a human. I love using AI like Gemini – it's useful and I'm optimistic about its future – but I'll never mistake it for a person. Overall, ATLAS is a 6.5/10 for me. It's a fun popcorn flick if you can overlook its flaws.

Some fun tech and action but ruined by JLo's constant over-the-top display of demotion. She's either loudly angry or loudly dejected. Always loud. Always grating on nerves. The film also felt shallow and linear in a way I have a hard time explaining. A robot stating it's pronouns... really? I wonder if that was said ironically or if it was a bow to DEI?

My only question is how the hell Jennifer held her hair in the face throughout the film. That damn hairstyle didn't let me enjoy the movie, I couldn't think of anything else.

Atlas is a solid 7. The story is one we've all seen before. It's a sci-fi spin on the buddy cop premise, with our star being forced to partner up with someone they think they'll hate, to take down the bad guy...... ....And that's okay. Sometimes it's fine to have a fun sci-fi movie that's simply a good eyeball ride with a familiar premise, for two hours. There's a couple of small technical flaws in the CGI, which are really only interesting for people who care about the rendering process, but other than that it's a really tight, well-paced, well-acted, well-written, solid 7 for sci-fi lovers. Explosions, robots, star ships and alien planets..... .....What more do you want on a Friday night?

I hated every part of this. It came off as a joke to the creators who thought "meh, put J-lo in it and these geeks will eat it up because it has robots." This was J-lo arguing with her Alexa and pretending to be much younger than she is. Her acting was terrible, as was all cast's. The effects were outdated and unbelievable. The plot was a blatant rip-off of better properties and coming from an antiquated view of AI. Note: J-lo canceled her tour after this came out. I hope it was because of the review bomb for this pos.

Atlas is a near perfect sci-fi for me. ️ Realistic portrayal of dangers of A. I. and nervegear. ️ Truly fantastic worldbuilding. ️ Visionary futuristic UI I would actually use. ️ Believable character responses to events. ️ **Amazing** acting -- I haven't seen Jennifer Lopez in anything before this, and she has phenomenal range and nuance. ️ Legit funny moments sprinkled throughout. ️ Incredible pacing. ️ Plot that keeps you invested, with a story that explores the character's minds and emotions. ️ A lot of heart. I grew up watching good and bad sci-fi movies daily with my parents. The Sci-Fi channel was a always on in our house. This movie checks all my best boxes. At the creators: I am your ideal target audience for this movie, and I absolutely adored this movie. You touched my heart and inspired my mind with this. I hope some of you see this review. Know: This movie was definitely worth your time and effort, it's a beautiful work of art. Thank you so much. This is one of my all time favorite movies.

Actually the movie concept was good and it is executed well . I would say the major problem with the movie is the cgi part . it was pretty much okish .......

Lost potential. The film featured some inventive weapons, sets, and visual effects that managed to shine despite the formulaic plot. However, the characters and storyline lacked originality, making it difficult to become truly engaged with them. Ultimately, it's just another title to bypass on the Netflix homepage, as it isn't worth revisiting.

This movie is the prime example of how bad of an actress Jennifer Lopez is. She struggles to be convincing. She has been trying to act for more than 25 years and is still bottom of the barrel. This movie has a lot of potential if someone else was cast for the lead role. There’s a decent plot to the movie but for me just falls completely short because of J-Lo’s horrible acting. Netflix charges people for movies looks this with the big names. So far hers is the worst and hopefully they don’t cast her again for a major movie. Especially putting this out for the summer movie kickoff. I think if it wasn’t for the AI counterpart this movie would be a flat out 1/2 star rating for me. I won’t spoil anything for those that are actually fans of Lopez. But they’ll realize early on that choking down 2 hours a f this movie was a pretty poor choice. Few good points. The CGI is really good, as mentioned, the plot is decent (it’s different from what’s always masked as new) so fans may stay tuned into the credits roll at the end.

Directed by Brad Peyton and starring Jennifer Lopez, Simu Liu, Sterling K. Brown and Mark Strong. Synopsis An intelligence analyst is stranded on a distant planet and must learn to use military-grade robotic armor to survive. Netflix's new bet is a science fiction film that does not become the great events that, from time to time, cinema gives us, it is a film with entertaining moments, but that usually falls into a rather boring film. Starting because Jennifer López has very little charisma, which affects her character Atlas, precisely the queen of the show, but it is difficult to click between her and the viewer. In that sense, it means that we do not end up fully entering into the proposal of this AI friendship with humans and the overcoming of the traumas that the story entails in its central plot. One cannot deny that the film is ambitious in terms of story and all its production and visual effects, however, it falls under its own weight of wanting to give us more than its own story allows because we find a story that halfway through its run it runs out of big twists and becomes totally predictable, subtracting a large part of all the emotions that its final climax can have, which is not entirely bad, but it does not end up elevating a film that lacks more intensity. And satisfaction. It has a director who, if he knows about this type of films and one can receive the energy and desire that he puts into his direction to give us a visual spectacle and emotions, for the moment he achieves it, which also makes it possible for us to visually have a film. Striking and very entertaining to watch. The result of Atlas is to be left with a film that fits in the Netflix catalog and is a film that will not clearly enter the tops of the best films of the year, but if you want to see a film for a family weekend without adults Expectations is a film that fulfills its mission of entertaining on a low scale and without greater pretensions than making its leading star look like an action heroine.

Jennifer Lopez has a narrow range of acting skills. It's the same sequence in every scene: overly concerned or in pain or emotional distress. The script actually has some humor and wit so it's worth watching once.

Classic 'stuck on an alien world' sci fi schlock with some pretty decent if cheesy performances from the cast. Everything feels iterative here from ai compabions to artificial humans and titanfall exosuits -things effevts wise make for a pretty looking if predicable ride. Sadly the plot is the weak point here with very little to titilate the mind as we are watching the fireworks. Despite this I was entertained!

(Mauro Lanari) Let's pretend that the "Terminator" saga and the exoskeletons of "Aliens" '86, a tribute to Japanese mecha starting with "Mazinger Z", didn't exist. Let's pretend that the reflections on AI have developed after "2001" with a strand whose most recent results are ("I, Robot", "Transformers",) "Ex Machina", "Automata", "Her", "The Creator". Let's pretend that chatter prevails over action precisely to underline this aspect. Let's pretend that JLo self-produced not because unable to act or still interested in showing her presumed immortal side b with the nude look of a stretch uniform. If there's a competition for the most derivative film, Peyton's is in very good place.

This movie lacked in a solid script and unfortunately when the central focus is Jennifer Lopez it becomes most evident that her acting is amateur at best. Her acting had moments that made me cringe and her character arc was infuriating. I could not finish the second half of this film.

Atlas is Netflix's latest attempt at a summer blockbuster and it's of course check all the usual list. The biggest problem is from J-Lo herself. She is woefully miscast in this movie. As its producer, she should have taken a step back and cast a more upcoming actress for the role. As it is, it is an entertaining diversion, but no more than that.

Worth a watch if you're bored and you want to watch some stupid scifi with the occasional good action scene. Otherwise, avoid. There's lots of stuff that feels like it should be a tribute to video games and other nerd culture (Warhammer 40k, Titanfall, even a hint to Death Stranding), but it doesn't feel like a tribute. It feels like copy/paste. Everything in the movie is derivative. If you can think of a scifi trope, they tried to cram that in. And the writing is so bad that it makes you think that they took every terrible movie and put it into an AI algorithm. But also asked the AI to make it as predictable as possible.

It was entertaining, JLo gave an unexpectedly great performance for this genre of movie as the acting was good overall as well as the special effects. I would have liked to see more beginning of the villain than just news story. Other than that, it's worth a watch.
