Neverwinter Nights no es un gran juego por lo que cuenta ni por cómo se juega en su campaña base, sino por lo que permite que exista. Es uno de los pocos RPG que entendió de verdad que el videojuego podía ser infraestructura, no solo obra cerrada. Su grandeza no está en la épica prefabricada, sino en la cesión radical de agencia: al jugador, al creador, al Dungeon Master. El sistema de D&D 3.0/3.5 no se disfraza ni se suaviza: es rígido, matemático, a veces áspero, pero precisamente por eso es honesto. Cada decisión tiene consecuencias claras, visibles, cuantificables. No hay ilusión de elección: hay reglas, y aprenderlas es parte de la experiencia. Neverwinter Nights no quiere seducirte; quiere que entiendas el sistema y lo habites.

Neverwinter Nights isn't perfect. But I nevertheless had a great time on this journey and it's kept me well and truly entertained for the past few weeks.

The single player campaign is, if anything, too long, and focuses more on continuous combat than actual role-playing. The lack of any support for parties in the single player mode is also disappointing, and makes the game far less involving than it should be.

Прошел neverwinter night 2002 года. Начинал я его проходить в далеком уже 2020 году(а потом дропнул и через 3 года вернулся добить), когда трава была зеленой, а я еще не познал настоящую классику изометрических рпг таких как первые 2 балдурса, первые 2 фоллыча, плейнскейп, айсвинды и др. То есть начинал я совсем ничего не понимающим в жанре дурачком, но мне хватило ума создать лютого гнома с топором, закинув все очки в силу и телосложение, этого оказалось достаточно, чтобы персонаж стал практически неуязвимым к концу игры. Игра сделана по вселенной днд, вроде как даже считается каноном в рамках нее (но я не уверен), для кого-то (например для людей которые читали книги по вселенной, а я читал) это плюс. Боевка тут является прямым переносом правил настольной днд, то есть каждый удар или иное действие персонажа (любого) сопровождается броском кубика.Если кто помнит боевку в морровинде где персонажи стоят друг напротив друга и дрочат оружиям воздух, тот тут примерно тоже самое, только это не выглядит так по уебански и даже имеет смысл. Графон и анимации для 2002 года порядочные, сюжет стандартный для подобных игр, я бы даже сказал дженерик, хотя в игре есть квесты с развилками в диалогах. Игру делали bioware в тот период когда они находились на верхушке рпг строения и игра вроде как считается классикой, но до второго балдурс гейта, который реально легендарен не дотягивает совсем. В общем, всем кто любит рпг, или днд советую, это годная вещь 7.5 из 10 со скидкой на время.

Neverwinter Nights was a mixed bag. The game had a very solid rule system and character development based on Dungeons and Dragons. This was great. It also comes with the toolkit that allows players to make their own adventures. This was amazing but is history now as the servers were permanently closed this year. Sad but inevitable in a quickly evolving industry. However the engine itself is not that great. Visually it is bland and I doubt anyone can seriously claim that it is better than what was already established with the Infinity Engine and Baldur's Gate. However sad to say the actual adventure of Neverwinter Nights is pretty bloody dull! It takes forever to level your character, to explore the city and make sense of the plot lines. The final result is kind of a long winded mediocrity. As an old **** for Dungeons and Dragons I actually enjoyed it a lot in the day, but doubt that this could be considered appealing now to any but the most hard core RPGers. The GOG platinum version (when on sale) is the best buy!

I tried at least 3 times to give this game a chance. Somehow didn't **** me in to its world, which is a shame. Especially that this game has a very good scores in all reviews.

This hasn't aged well. The 3D graphics are really dated. The gameplay mechanics are really bad. I spent a lot of the in-game time bashing open chests and containers. You basically obtain all the equipment you need for your character in the first chapter. After that, loot is pretty much worthless. The in-game economy is completely unbalanced. I acquired a dragon's hoard of hundreds of thousands of gold coins by the third chapter. Most fights are completely trivial. The story is OK, but it's slow going. I gave up before the end of the 3rd chapter. I know this game is supposed to be huge, but there are so many better games out there.
