I'd like my life back, Black Isle.
For the first time in a single player game, I truly felt I was playing my way through a pen and paper fantasy campaign.

It's not just vast, but flooded with quests and side adventures. There is always something to do in this game and, after that, there's always something more.

Baldur’s Gate 2 (including Throne of Bhaal) remains the gold standard for isometric role-playing games. Its masterfully written story, complex tactical combat and unforgettable villain make it an absolute must-play legend, With a classic essence that Baldurs Gate 3 unfortunately lost.

This is hands down one of the greatest RPG and videogames of all time. Baldurs Gate 2 has an incredibly rich world with lots of companions with stories some hit or miss. You get to enjoy high level DND and get access to some of the coolest spells and items. Infinite replay value and jon irenicus is one of the best villains of all time. I wasn't expecting this game to hold up but when I played this game it became my obsession for a month straight. This is the perfect RPG and nothing else compares.

This game could consume you too, it could change your life. Good news on one level but even if it's bad news and all your friends and family disown you, there's still a silver lining. This game is value plus for money!

With near-seamless integration of the 2nd Edition AD&D rules, a tight storyline and a good deal of action, I really can't think of an RPG to date that betters it.

Armchair Empire
Great quests, solid story, very good voice acting, challenging battles, and engaging dialogue and characters make this an RPG that stands head and shoulders above the competition.

Baldur's Gate II has no peers. It commands your attention and will command your life for months. It's exactly the RPG I've been waiting for.

IMO this game is overrated. I do not like the combat system because I often have to pause in the middle of combat to give orders to multiple characters. I also didn't find "a wizard stole my soul" to be that great of a story.

Arghh why does the pacing of CRPGs need to be so goddamn glacial. Not my cup of tea... I never understood how ppl can play these games again and again and again for 100s of hours.

Aside from its gameplay and tech problems, Baldur's Gate 2 also misses the mark with its story. It feels all over the place, with flat characters and boring dialogue that don't make you care. The plot just doesn't have the depth or vibe of the original Baldur's Gate games, leaving you feeling disconnected from the world and its people

SummaryAn epic continuation of the story that began in "Baldur's Gate," this RPG is set along the southern portion of the Sword Coast, a detailed and rich area of the Forgotten Realms called Amn. It features 300 spells and 130-plus monster types compared to only 130 spells and 60 monster types in Baldur's Gate. [Interplay]
