Although not all areas felt the benefits of the remaster, like tutorials for the battle system, Tales of Symphonia Remastered allows a new generation of gamers to experience this classic. Overall, it is an excellent game, the cute graphics look gorgeous in HD, and the gripping story and lovable characters are mesmerising for returning and new fans alike.
Tales of Symphonia Remastered brings back one of the finest JRPGs ever made and for anyone who has no other way of experiencing the original, this could be an interesting choice. Unfortunately this remaster suffers from too many issues compared to the original, artistic and technical, and the result is a rather frustrating experience that should undergo a revision towards correcting its main flaws, as Tales of Symphonia deserves a much better contemporary treatment.
Tales of Symphonia was a fantastic JRPG back in the GameCube days, however the remaster leaves a few things to be desired. If you’ve already saved Sylvarant in the past, perhaps that’s where you should leave it, but new fans should find some enjoyment.

This wa my least favorite game until I beat tales of vesperia and it is a slow cooker til you get some major characters and boy does it pick up. It gets an 9 because the port could have looked better and had improvements but a 9 I give the game for people who don't own the original and **** have never played the game or want to play the game again. A must for any Tales series fans

This game has a great story but is broken up into almost anime-like arcs with plenty of story beats that feel almost akin to filler. The gameplay could be fun for some people but personally isn't for me and combat especially later in the game where combat can feel kinda boring. However, this doesn't apply to bosses where combat is engaging and very fun. The characters are probably where this game is the strongest having a fun cast that I never got bored or disliked any characters very much.

Shame for a remaster, fight in 2D, screen loading very long for such graphics, nothings really changing since ps3 version

Tales of Symphonia Remastered is a product that was only made to comply, so compared to remasters of other franchises, it falls far, far behind. On the other hand, if there are new users who want to play it for the first time, it is an accessible option today. Although for the asking price, perhaps it would be best to wait for a discount.

People complaining cause it doesn't have 60fps but for me doesn't make any difference. The story itself it's not the best tales game and there is cheesy lines but overall it's a pretty good remastered. 1080p docked mode. Also we rarely see 60fps games on switch so yeah good luck (Bayonetta 3 tried and was always 50-55 FPS)

If you love JRPGs, you owe it to yourself to play Tales of Symphonia, and Tales of Symphonia Remastered is an easy way to do that. I’d even recommend this game to fans of retro gaming in general. I really wish I could recommend it to everyone. Unfortunately, the slightly clunky design and aged graphics make it hard for me to do that.

Tales of Symphonia is still a good game and it’s great that it’s available on more platforms, but also deserves a better remaster.

Tales of Symphonia Remastered is still a great action JRPG and an important one in establishing the now long-running series, but there are better ways to experience it than this.

I will never not love Tales of Symphonia and appreciate that it introduced this wonderful series to me. I will forever love Raine’s manic professor mode, Colette’s clumsiness, and the fact that Lloyd is voiced by Robin from Teen Titans. That said, Tales of Symphonia Remastered has made me realize that unless Bandai Namco deems it worthwhile to do a ground-up remake of the game, I think I’m fine sunsetting Symphonia and letting other worthwhile Tales shine in the spotlight for a while.

It’s unfortunate that this game released in such a poor state. Bandai namco has really dropped the ball on this one. How do you give a game remembered by all as a masterpiece this type of treatment. That being said it’s not assss bad as everyone is making it out. It may not be the best version of the game but it’s playable and portable and still good fun. If you can get past the performance issues and load times then there is fun to be had here.

My favorite game ever, with the worst port ever. We don't even know why this is called Remaster when the original game from Game Cube from 20 years ago run better than this. Longer loading times (loadings after battles?? This is terrible for a game like this). No **** screen when entering a battle, its just a flashy white screen that hurts our eyes. The battle screen is alot darker than in other consoles. When you open the menu, the backgroud is just a black static screen and different from the other versions. And the list could go on. We really hope these bugs get fixed so we can enjoy our favorite game as before. How can a system like Switch, 20 years later, run a game worse like this? Please Namco, help us here.
