A nostalgic experience with the Resident Evil franchise should always include number two.

My favorite Resident Evil of all time. The survival horror is classic, and the way the game builds the interaction between the two scenarios is amazing. It also introduced my two favorite characters in the franchise, Leon and Claire. I first played it when I was a kid and revisited it again in my thirties, and it’s still amazing.

The passing of time has paid its toll on this game, and Capcom did little to nothing to overcome this aging. The gameplay remains solid, but I don't think its enough to really enjoy the game, there are just too many shortcomings.

Upset as I am towards Capcom for the price hike, and putting the cosmetics rant aside, Resident Evil 2 is still one of my favorites in the series.

A FRICKIN' RIP-OFF... [yet] still deserves playing. [Apr 2003, p.128]

Totally unchanged and -- five years old, just feels completely outdated.

You'll find yourself cursing the lack of inventory spaces, and the inability to drop objects (which was only introduced in Resident Evil Zero), and all told the trip down memory lane merely serves to illustrate how far games have come generally, and how forgiving we must have been back then to put up with such wholly irritating fundamentals.

Que jogo, pra mim é o segundo melhor da franquia, não tenho palavras pra descrever esse jogo, as horas divertidas jogando com o leon e com a clarie.

When it comes to the console versions of the original RE2, the GameCube version is the best version. It has slightly upgraded visuals from the PS1 version and the load times are noticeably faster. It probably has the same quality of visuals as the Dreamcast version, but the colors appear to be more accurate and less saturated. Having played this version for the first time in 2025, I can say that it still cooks and this is the best console version of the original RE2 to date. The original RE2 is superior to the RE2 remake and while the remake is a masterpiece in its own right, it doesn't quite surpass the original. The characters, atmosphere, music, and story are all superior in the original and as a sequel, the original RE2 is arguably one of the greatest video game sequels ever made as it surpasses its predecessor in every aspect. Highest recommendation.

The perfect game, besides graphics, it holds up to this day flawlessly, fixed camera and tank controls are actually great, they complement each other perfectly and it is very fast to get used to them. This is a Must Play, no matter the platform you are playing it.
