This game is a little bit of Hitman with action sections. I love Hitman and I love stealth. Never liked Uncharted. It's a carbon copy of Tomb Raider, but the Hitman franchise has its own unique style. So that's why I love this game. If you don't like Hitman or Metal Gear style stealth, you are not a gamer and I can't take you seriously.

This game is so mid overall. The Grace sections are so brilliant though. It reminds me of classic Survival Horror, but everything is ruined once you play Leon's full campaign in Raccoon City. It's too over the top and you're entering RE5 and RE6 territory at that point and it's just too much. Capcom has a problem with balance, and they tried too hard trying to cater RE9 to too many types of fans. If they kept the majority of the game as Grace for about 70-80% of the game where Grace becomes stronger as the game progresses and once she's at her peak, then bring Leon. Capcom literally false advertised the game. I was expecting a Survival Horror masterpiece that was inspired by Silence of the Lambs and Se7en with a great story, backtracking, puzzle solving, item management, and limited ammo. We got that for about the first 8 hours of the game, and then after the game lost its way and lost the plot. I love RE4, but I kinda hate RE4/Leon fans. RE4 is great, but it ruined the franchise. I often wonder what RE would be today had Capcom not gone down the action route with the franchise. It seems Capcom has to wedge that **** into every game to appease the morons who came from Fortnite and Battlefield. All these fake fans have been destroying the franchise for a while now. Also, the fan service is so excessive. It p!sses me off. I hope they never remake RE1 again because they'll interject unnecessary action elements to appeal to the idiots who don't like strategy based Survival Horror. I'm going to be generous and give it a 7/10. Maybe I need to play it a little more. There are good aspects of the game I did enjoy. I beat it once on "Standard Classic" in 13 hours. **** I also want to add thar Leon's movement is sloppy in this game. It makes sense for Grace since she's a novice, but Leon is a seasoned, veteran gigachad. So why is he so slow and clunky? It felt more fluid in RE4R after you figure out the mechanics, but in RE9, it's weird. The parry fills weird, too.***

Another banger! Love this game! Love the Ninja Gaiden franchise really. Even NG3, although most people don't like that. It's thesame situation like all Ninja Gaiden games. Great gameplay, mediocre story, big boobs and voluptuous sexy women. What more can you ask for in a game.

The frame rate is choppy, the story is boring, the game is too long, and the world is too expansive. Souls abd souls-like need to go away at this point. They're pretty much pointless, and only Distortion2 and Hazeblade like these games. This game **** overall. 4/10

It's a solid game. I'm 8 hours in and I'm having fun with it. All these people nitpicking the problems are ridiculous. You can't please these morons. The graphics are great, the gameplay is frustrating, but so are Souls game. The story is actually pretty solid, too. I actually like this game more than say, Evil Within. Evil Within is mediocre, but Silent Hill F is good. A good game, but not as intriguing as the classics (Silent Hill 1-3).

Man, this game is super mid and the game becomes horrid when the end comes around. This type of game proves that your average gamer is just a stupid kid that just enjoys a slop being fed to them by the game industry. The environments are bland, the combat is clunky, and the graphics are mid. The story is atrociously bad. Everything is just mediocre and I would expect the sequel to be the same.

I had to change my score When I progressed through the game. A good game ruined by a terrible final boss battle. I don't know why indie developers, and even triple AAA developers try so hard to make their games frustratingly ****'s unnecessary. Other than that, the game is good and has great music, but I hate poor game design and the final boss battle is ridiculously stupid.

I like this game. The hate around this game is unnecessary. Yes, it's hard, I get it! But it's still Resident Evil to the core. Same backtracking, item management, and puzzle solving. The puzzles are great, too. This game is still an A tier game to me. It's also better than RE5 and RE6. A few other RE games to hate on other than RE0.

Sucha disappointment.Game is far too short, and there are no puzzles, backtracking, or exploration. I want to believe that Covid epidemic played a factor in this, but who knows. I've also heard terrible gamers played a role in Nemesis being a pushover. A lot of fake fans complained that Mr. X was too hard to deal with in RE2R. If that's true, Capcom should be ashamed of themselves catering to bad gamers. The combat, voice acting, and characters are all great but the overall experience is lacking, and this doesn't feel like a Resident Evil game. This is definitely a disappointment in comparison to the original RE3.

Still a great game. These few negative reviews are ****'s a Survival Horror game, so it's not supposed to be fair. People complaining that you can't kill the Xenomorph. Well, you couldn't kill Mr. X/tyrant in RE2 OG and RE2 Remake. The stalker enemy fits so well in Survival Horror, because it adds a bit of tension and urgency to get through the game. I guess these people who don't like the stalker enemies just aren't good at games.

The combat in this game is terrible. The game itself is boring. I don't understand how the devs believed it was a good idea to release this game in its state. The movement and mechanics are terrible, and suffer from what most OTS(Over the Shoulder) games suffer from, but far worse. When you have an action game like this, and the combat gets intense, developers should know by now that you have to pan the camera further back so that if the player gets stuck behind a wall, the player can't see. Not that this will help because this game is complete ass, and any critic who rated this game highly was paid to do so.

Jul 24, 2024
What a uniquely weird game. I like it, but don't love it. It's fun for the 3 hours that I've played it so far. The graphics are good, as expected from Capcom. The combat is interesting. It's pretty much a "hack n slash"game but with a little bit of strategy. You can assign villagers to be an aide for you in battle. You can place your allies anywhere in the battle arena/area. The combat is a bit all over the place, as it's hard to control the direction in which your character can attack. Story is pretty interesting. It's literally like Mario Bros. except the princess is with you always. You're pretty much protecting her and creating a path for her to safety. Cool concept. I may revise this review once I get further.

I think this may be the worst video game I've ever played in my life. No joke! It goes to show that great graphics doesn't make a game great! The combat and mechanics are good awful. None of the characters are really likeable either. I think Glen Scofield just likes to experiment even if his games come out like ****. Just to try something different and see if it works. Well, this failed. It makes no sense to wait for the enemies to swing, especially when you have two enemies on you at once. Who actually thought this was a good idea. Who actually play tested this game and thought it was good. There'ssome aspects that make it seem like the game isn't even finished. So far as story, enemy designs, environments, it's literally a carbon copy of Dead Space. At least that game was good. Both the OG Dead Space, Dead Space Remake, and Dead Space 2. The gameplay was tolerable. Callisto Protocol just seems cumbersome and annoying and the checkpoints are laughably bad. No wonder this game flopped.

This game is super fun! Once you get the hang of the controls and what the objectives are, you'll find yourself replaying certain tournaments over and over again to get an even higher score than your previous play. Very rapid gameplay, and sometimes controlling the character you play seems tedious, but you get the hang of it after a while. There's a rhythm to it. It sort of feels and looks like HiFi Rush, but honestly, I like this more. Challenging game, yet very rewarding.

The Evil Within 25
Feb 18, 2024
Mid game. The story seems like it should work, but it ultimatelymakesno sense, just like the first Evil Within. The plot is ludicrous. I don't understand why the enemies just don't eliminate slow and clunky Sebastian since they control the Stem machine. Sebastian is still a boring, one-dimensional character. His lines are terrible and every door he steps through, he always asks "What the hell?" and the way the line is delivered makes me facepalm every time. The graphics are mid, the mechanics are so poorly done, just like first game. The only redeeming aspect of the game is the "open world" and exploration you can do in the town of Union. This game is not as linear as the first one, but I still find this game to be boring. There are creepy moments in this game, but the first one was a lot creepier. Reused enemies for the most part. The zombie creatures are similar to the first game. I don't know, this game just lacks polish. I also hate how there are forced walking sections in the game. I hate when games do that. This sequel didn't learn from its mistakes in the first game. It's literally a retread of the first one. I also don't care about any of the characters. Just like in the first game. 5/10 Also want to add that this game gives you options to make the game easier. Not difficulty adjustment or changing the difficulty mid-game, but actual "Invincibility mode" and "Strength mode" where you don't take damage at all when you're hit, and you can kill all enemies with one shot or attack. That's so lame.

Best game of the past 4 years. A true remake unlike RE3R. Anyone that doesn't like this game just doesn't like Survival Horror. I can understand complaints of cut content, especially between the two scenarios. But it's still not enough to hate the game. Puzzle solving, backtracking, item management, sandbox environments...that's always been apart of true Survival Horror. The newbies think Evil Within and RE4 are Survival Horror, and they're not. RE4 and RE4R are classics, but they're more action than horror.

Rise of the Tomb Raider7
Dec 12, 2023
It'sa solid game, but the controls, mechanics, and camera are junk. Modern games feel this way, where the character you're playing as is sluggish, weighty, and an all-around pain to maneuver. I guess devs are going for the more realistic feel, which is cool, but I'd have more fun with a character who actually is faster, and actually maneuvers correctly when I press a specific button. The delayed mechanics are frustrating, too. Sometimes, Lara won't even grab a ledge when I press the right button. Ugh! The first section is awful, as it hits you with platforming, on top of QTEs. Terrible mix to start a game with. I get they need to keep people's attention, but they could've started it with a free roaming section with combat. Instead of icepick climbing up a mountain, have a combat heavy section going up a mountain. The combat is actually very minimal. Not a big complaint, just frustrating. The stealth mechanics work really well, but it only can be used in certain sections. The survival aspects are cool where Lara has to hunt her own prey is cool, too, but the prey seem overly tanky. The checkpoint/campfire aspect is cool in theory, but weirdly executed, along with the upgrading system. Also, the objectives in-game aren't obviously stated and I find myself questioning where to go next in these little mini-arenas the devs have created. I don't know exactly where Lara has to platform, or which ledge she's supposed to grab. Especially frustrating when there's time limits on where to move in certain sections. Even with all the negatives, I still felt the need to progress in the game. The game is very linear, and doesn't leave much room for exploration. At least from what I can tell so far. I find the game to not be punishingly difficult and I'm playing on Hardcore, which is a good thing. When you die, you return to a checkpoint, which is normally not too far from where you die. There's literally a checkpoint every 10 to 20 steps.

Still the best Resident Evil game next to RE1 Remake, in my opinion. A true classic with an iconic protagonist (Jill) and a terrifying antagonist (Nemesis). Exploring the streets of Raccoon City in fixed camera is amazing. The OG RE trilogy just got better with each game. Even though the new fans may consider the game's graphics and its controls dated, it's a must-play for any true RE fans. If you can get your hands on it. If only Capcom would port it to newer consoles. Luckily for PC gamers, it's available though.

Also, the areas are primarily the same but you go different routes as Ada.
