A score-driven game that’s stylish in every way, this is perfect for the competitive, jumpsuit-and-gun-loving beast desperate to skate its way out of you. [Issue#19, p.86]
Rollerdrome certainly has its issues, but the overwhelmingly chaotic action is fun enough to compensate. I continually found myself dropping back into levels to try and chase higher scores and take out my foes with increasing style. There are elements that could have been fleshed out further, but considering the scope of the project, I'm impressed with the results.

That speed and flow, ultimately, is a fantasy - one that's ever harder to appreciate when you're constantly being knocked off course by rockets. [Issue#376, p.104]

This game’s narrative is basically non existent and also completely optional. while at times the gameplay is outstanding, it’s honestly few and far between. The grinding and tricks that can be done are so complicated for all the wrong reasons, such as the fact that the game doesn’t register you doing a specific trick even though you’ve done it perfectly, which is game changing and frustrating. I wouldn’t be playing this game if I didn’t get it with my PlayStation plus subscription awhile back. Please only play if you got this game for free and don’t spend money on it

Game starts out very neat almost like a movie intro, I was hyped to play it but I could only play the 1st Act because I **** at the game & it wont let you progress unless you complete the requirements.. but the several hours I did play it I enjoyed myself, the 3rd person skating around & shooting is definitely a somewhat unique aspect, I thought I would love this game more like Sunset Overdrive, but it's a little different that than, you go into arenas & have to complete tricks to acquire scores to pass, you can slow down time & shoot enemies with special shots using timing, it's really neat, easy to get into but hard to master type of concept.. I couldn't master it, after being stuck on Act 1 after several attempts to progress I gave up.

Rollerdrome is one of the most exciting and innovative games that I wish I had the mental capacity to play. There is a lot to love about Rollerdrome, like how they combine the best of skating games with the best of Third Person Shooters. And for as many accommodations that Rollerdrome makes as to not make the game too loaded with mechanics, it still kind of ends up being a little bit too much for my fingers. The learning curve for this game is STEEP. I had to play the game in assist mode until I really got the hang of it a little more, and the game still absolutely kicked my butt! Still, the game is way too fun and replayable for me to hold too much of that initial hassle against it. I don't care that I'm not good enough at the game to achieve a good score in every level, I just worry that after a while of not consistently playing the game, I will have to re-learn the game again. I guess when I look back at it, the concept was more exciting than the execution, but I still enjoyed myself nonetheless.

Good, clean, consistent fun from a very small dev team. Game only takes approximately 3 hours to finish, but the challenges are what make you come back for more along with the extra tough version of the campaign. Ended up taking about 8-10 hours to get the platinum, and it was every bit worth the price. Don't sleep on this game!

Rollerdrome immediately clicked with me, and I ate it all up. As polished and fun as the experience is, it feels like Roll7 is just dipping its toes into the water. I hope this talented studio gets the chance to make a sequel to further flesh out this unique concept with more detail in the story and greater player progression. Regardless, Rollerdrome is a fantastic first foot forward. I adored the campaign gameplay and have a feeling my friend group will use this unique title for late-night scoring competitions.

If you're itching for a brand new third-person shooter with some unique mechanics, then Rollerdrome may be the game for you. Its presentation, arena design, controls and combat are superb, and make up for the otherwise short length.

If you’ve ever wondered what the combination of an extreme sports title and a third-person shooter would be like, Rollerdrome is the game for you. Its story might be a let-down, and some gameplay elements might not hit the mark as well as they should do, but on the whole this is a thoroughly original and entertaining affair. We hope we get to spend more time with Kara in the future, too, as there’s a lot of scope here for further violent high-octane antics.

Hey Poor Player
When everything comes together, Rollerdrome feels incredible, but too often, things get buried under the weight of its many systems. While even at its worst, there is definitely fun to be had here, this feels like an incredible concept for a game where the developers needed to spend a little more time workshopping what aspects of it were really needed. It’s still a good game, though, and the foundation is in place for a sequel to be truly incredible.

Rollerdrome produces some badass moments with its combination of X Games action and bullet-time violence, but it doesn’t replicate what made the OlliOlli games such Zenlike fun. Those looking for a challenge will find it here, but given Rollerdrome’s bland presentation, imperfect controls, and grueling approach to level design, many players will quickly skate on to something else.

I played this mostly on PC, which is great too, but I did play this a bit on PS5 with my friend and the controller stuff feels amazing! The R2 button squeezes in such a realistic way when you shoot, and the rumble stuff feels great. And we were playing at 4k and it was really smooth (I guess that's because the graphics are quite simple compared to other games). I did a more in depth review on the PC version but I think the PS5 one is probably the best way to experience this game.

Short Review: I love the art style of this game (shoutout to Sable). And the gameplay is fun. Perhaps a double jump, enabled by jet packs/boots with boosters, and more enemy variety would have made the gameplay more fun, but otherwise it is super fun. It is pure video game fun. Yes it may be short, a lil repetitive, simple story-wise, but it is a focused game. It is kind of like a Bombrush Cyberfunk but with the constant urgency and rapid pace of Ghostrunner or Doom. This type of art style and gameplay has a lot of potential. 74/100

an absolute disaster this game looks like it was made in 1975 and it is so repetitive and boring and they lied about the trial only offering 30 minutes after saying one hour... horrible game don't bother

SummaryThe year is 2030, and you are a competitor in a brutal new bloodsport – Rollerdrome. Combine stylish skate tricks with devastating slow-mo kills, picking your weapons with care to land the killing blow and make it to the end of the round… and maybe, with enough skill and hard work, to the end of the Championship.
