I am in love with the cinematic glory that Guillermo del Toro has once again delivered to us in this delightful display of gothic elegance, gore, and scientific marvel that is one of the best renditions and nods to Mary Shelley's creation that I have ever seen.I am a hard-to-impress fan here too because I fell in love with the book as a child and was privileged to see the Robert Deniro version in theaters when it came out, and 'Mary Shelley's Frankenstein" is one of my favorite gothic films of all time to date. However, Guillermo is a genius and I knew when I saw the trailer for this movie that it would deliver upon his grandness and do justice to Mary's story for this new edition to the current generation, and following some of the great gothic films to come out in the last year - it definitely served up a wonderful course post-Nosferatu and Dracula: a Love Tale (which is also amazing nod to Bram Stoker's Dracula having been my top-tier favorite but it also holds up exquisitely.)Highly recommend for my Gothic Romantic enthusiasts who love the old classics in literature!

Stories that include monsters, villains, or dark forces have been a cornerstone of human storytelling for thousands of years. From ancient myths to modern cinema, these narratives are not meant to glorify evil but to give audiences, especially children, a safe space to confront and understand it. Angel Studios’ new film Sketch, though recently accused by some of having “demonic” elements, is firmly rooted in this tradition. The movie depicts a young girl whose imagination and art bring her creations to life, including an evil monster she must overcome. Far from promoting darkness, the story teaches courage, resilience, and the triumph of good over evil. This narrative approach is neither new nor inherently problematic. In fact, it mirrors many beloved and respected works, including The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien, a devout Christian who used fantastical evil forces such as Sauron, the Ringwraiths, and the armies of Mordor to represent real-world moral corruption. In Tolkien’s work, evil is not admired or celebrated, it is shown in all its destructive power so that the triumph of the heroes becomes even more meaningful. Similarly, the Bible itself uses vivid depictions of evil and its defeat, from the serpent in Genesis to the apocalyptic visions in Revelation, to teach that while evil exists, it is not insurmountable.Children’s stories that incorporate dark elements are often some of the most impactful. They allow young audiences to encounter representations of fear in a controlled and symbolic way. A monster in a film is not simply a creature for scares, it is a metaphor for real challenges such as bullies, self-doubt, temptation, grief, or injustice. By giving these challenges a face, children can process them emotionally and see that they can be conquered. In Sketch, the monster that emerges from the girl’s art is not an invitation to embrace darkness, but an opportunity for her to exercise bravery, resourcefulness, and **** accusation that such a portrayal is “demonic” misses the point of the moral arc in these stories. The narrative is not about celebrating the monster, it is about defeating it. Evil is not shown as something desirable, but as something harmful and dangerous, something that must be resisted. This same logic applies to stories like Harry Potter, where the dark wizard Voldemort is the embodiment of fear, prejudice, and greed, and is ultimately undone by love, loyalty, and sacrifice.Children benefit from seeing these conflicts resolved in positive ways. It teaches them that adversity is part of life, but it does not have to define them. They see characters who start out afraid but learn to rise to the challenge. They learn that heroism does not always mean physical strength, it can mean perseverance, creativity, and the courage to do what is right.Ultimately, films like Sketch are a continuation of humanity’s oldest teaching method, using story to prepare the next generation for the real world. Shielding children entirely from depictions of evil does not eliminate the fact that they will one day face challenges. Showing them, through art, that evil can be recognized, confronted, and overcome is one of the most powerful and enduring lessons any storyteller can give.

There are so many brilliant parallels to the original that fans will immediately recognize, but what truly makes this installment shine is the return of Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr. Their reprisal of the iconic roles adds both emotional weight and nostalgic charm that hits all the right notes. The atmosphere is chilling, the pacing tight, and the nods to the 90s slasher era are incredibly satisfying. It balances homage with freshness in a way that honors the legacy without feeling forced. I absolutely loved it—both as a longtime fan and as someone who appreciates well-done horror revivals. A must-watch!

In Karate Kid: Legends we see Ralph's character returning to New York after being sought out and found in the place he first encountered Mr. Miyagi tending to his bonsai trees, and the beautiful relationship that formed between a boy with no friends in a place that was unforgivingly tormenting toward him and how that boy has become the man Mr. Miyagi always knew he could be.More to this is how, despite life being difficult, Jackie's character gives the same energy in responses that Mr. Miyagi himself would have given, and trusts that Ralph will show up because of the respect and admiration he still has for a man who taught him everything about being a good man himself.Five stars across the board - one of the best movies I've seen this year.

I can't consciously give the movie a great rating because I have so many things to point out that disturb me, and it was really hard to get into the movie and stay focused. Most of the time, with every second I went in watching it, I found myself more and more upset by the underlying and completely ignored truth as it pertains to Pacific Islanders and the native occupants of Hawai'i.Until we begin to decolonize at the core of everything as an audience, as writers, and as people who contribute to the world, we will continue falling short on opportunities where we could have made morality and love shine and carried the meaning of “OHAHA MEANS FAMILY. FAMILY MEANS NO ONE GETS LEFT BEHIND,” forward in a more positive and uniting way.

I knew this movie was going to be one I appreciated just from the previews but the delivery was PRISTINE. I am thoroughly in love with the score, the acting and the storyline. This is the definition of a masterpiece and I would say it is one of the best movies in its category. It's got some of the appeal as the original From Dusk til Dawn and I felt like some of the scenes had similar connotations, such as the girl saying were gonna kill every last one of ya like when Danny Trejo pops up at the bar and proclaims they're all going to die. This is cinematic artistry at its absolute finest.

Werewolves was a decent movie on the concept of a strange martial law declaration and family oriented with a sweet ending on that note, but the werewolves change and the backstory behind how this came to be was a bit hazy which I think took away from some of the delivery when the wolves finally emerged for their night on the prowl. It was nice to see Lou Diamond Phillips, but I had hoped he was going to have a more critical role than he ended up having in the brief cameo made before...well, no spoilers, but let's just say things don't quite go the way I envisioned they would and it was a little disappointing. Nevertheless, I gave the movie a steady 7 stars cause there were aspects I really enjoyed. I would compare it to a sort of Battle LA type of film.

I feel like this is one of Carson's best movies to date, and she's done well with choosing films that are heartwarming and moving - this one definitely takes the cake in teaching us how to value the life we live and not lose sight of the experiences that shape our life into what it's meant to be.

It's not often you get to see modern takes on the West, but when you combine it with brassy women leads and a Native-Latino protagonist it delivers on an experience that I feel is noteworthy. People who enjoy Yellowstone, Territory, or Landman are sure to like this! I found it refreshing and enjoyable with moments of levity and action that flow well together. It's a good movie for those who appreciate a father making the ultimate sacrifices for the betterment of his child, but one that will leave you feeling a bit depressed by the lack of presence in that child's life that ultimately results from the conclusion of this film. It's a thrilling and scary story that has similar themes to IT and the Shining as well as Darkness Falls, and will definitely get you in the feelings when it comes to a precious child and the possibility of life loss and family separation.

There are a lot of overlapping themes that play into this movie but I think that all of them made perfect sense toward the end and with how Elphaba's character related to Galinda as she worked to position herself as the most likeable of all the students in **** - it was complex and relatable because you could see how the differences in acceptance as it correlated to the student body could cause a split in causation for the evolution you see through both girls. This was a great movie with a surprising cast that I wasn't expecting - I was happy to see Ali Larter pair up with Sean Astin in this and the production that LegionM gave us was a wonderful cinematic delivery. The acting of the main character in the role of the middle daughter who is pursued by the "man in the white van," is compelling, and while this is a thrilling movie the fact that it is based on the real story of a violent sexual assault spree in Florida during the 70s is perfectly executed, and true to the period - the scenes are harrowing and frightful, and I imagine they only scratch the surface of what the victims of Billy. I found it especially distressing that this young girl asked for help from her parents and nearly everyone ignored her or deflected it like she was the problem. As this related to her older sister and the things she was interested in as a person, it became clear to understand that no matter what this girl did nobody was going to hear her out until things were undeniable. I feel that this was a dire mistake that no person should ever make and when it comes to a person feeling unsure, anxious, and concerned they are being stalked it is crucial to provide proper support and assistance at the moment of their distress. People always say to tell someone, tell an adult, go inform others - but when that happens and no one wants to hear it the gap between the prevention of a tragedy and someone becoming victimized becomes easier for a predator to build a bridge through and I think that was the single biggest message to take from the movie.

Nosferatu is a stunning cinematic delivery into a Gothic story of pure splendor that is a visual delight for the eyes in every possible way. Then comes the amazing and stunningly shocking performance that Lily-rose Depp gave definitely proving that she has gotten the talent from her father to deliver the kind of performances that Gothic horror necessitates in order for it to be delivered properly to an audience. An example of this is in fact that no CGI was used in the creation of this film and lily Rosa's iconic acting in the moment where she goes into a seizure and begins quaking is so believable that you truly do think that she's about to convulse and this is actually happening to her. Next, comes Bill Skarsgard in one of the most phenomenal unrecognizable rules I've ever seen him and however the heroine voice that he delivered comparing it to the things that he's done in the past especially with the iconic voice that he gave to Pennywise it was clear to see he put a great deal of time and effort and ensuring that the accuracy of his voice and accent depicted that of a Romanian nobleman in such a way that it gave the character So much more depth even for the lack of visualization since he was mostly covered in shadow until his great reveal. Nicholas Hoult and Aaron Taylor Johnson also did great in their respective roles but I will say I load Aaron Taylor Johnson in this role and that is a credit to his acting because the character in my opinion was meant to be hated. Willem Dafoe offers a sense of levity at moments in this movie and yet brings everything together in such a way that the ending delivery is not only perfect for the story line but also bitter sweet I truly think that Robert Eggers has delivered us a masterpiece of cinematic art in this film comparable to Francis Ford Coppola's Bram Stoker's Dracula from the 90s this is one of the best Gothic films I have seen in a long time. As a Gothic enthusiast and a lover of Gothic literature classic art and film I give this movie a masterpiece stellar 5 star review.

It was also interesting to see the dynamics between his parents who clearly had entirely different parenting styles and either are too rigid and unempathetic or helicoptering over the boy in a way that nearly stifles his own individuality and labels him. Its almost as if the consideration for the kids welfare is somehow erased by being too much of either extreme instead of balancing things and respecting the boys personality, Likes and interests. It's a nuanced family film and though a dark comedy, still has a beautiful and heartwarming Holiday tale at the core. I enjoyed it thoroughly.

I thought this was gonna be a cute movie from the previews but when I got in seat to see it I found out that it was so much more. Without a doubt I think this is probably one of Dwayne Johnson's best films in a while and the morals that come across through the story it's the perfect time for them to be shared. There were moments of levity and action that kept you on the edge of your seat but I think the stories about love and choosing to be a good person at this moment in time we're the best parts of the entire film. There is anything to be taken from this I do believe that this is the must watch holiday film of year and that Every family should watch It. Which brings me to the conclusion of my review 5 stars across-the-board one of the best Christmas movies that I have seen in years.

Considering the amount of time that has passed since the first Gladiator, I was curious to see how well the sequel would play out. I have to say that I was thoroughly impressed and fully pulled into this film from the first scene. Seeing Connie Neilson return as Lucilla was fantastic, and Denzel Washington, and Pedro Pascal were wonderful additions, but the star of the film came from Paul Mescal. His performace as Lucius was stellar. There were moments of great quotes and action that made an impact I feel most people could benefit from. The sequences of events and the timing of the story played out well to create a film that complements the first in its entirety, carrying the greatness of the original tale forward to produce a finale that is satisfying and beautiful. Lucius exhibits what it means to fight against an evil empire, stand up for true freedom and unite peoples under one goal; unity and equality for all. An absolute thrill with so much to share, I was most certainly ENTERTAINED. 5

Kelsey makes this movie so great and it shows her acting skills because for most of it she cannot speak much - instead having to use her eyes and expressions and the vague motions she can to help express what she is feeling. She taps into sorrow and helplessness fabulously and the movie is one that keeps you wondering what will happen next even as you watch in shocking at every adrenaline passing second you see what the main character endures. Again, evidence of the great actress playing her part to perfection. I found that the movie is engrossing, and it has so many nuances of the human experience in scenarios they might least expect to find themselves in.

Every once in a while a movie comes along that is deeply moving and inspiring - that deals with the most difficult subjects human beings can deal with, and yet hits all the notes about what we must come to accept about life, the value of it's worth, and what it means to live fully and authentically - sharing our love for others, the planet, animals and the environment around us well simultaneously experiencing the enrichment of those things as they bring joy and love to our own lives. Tuesday is a movie with a story that perfectly exhibits the acceptance of Death as it approaches and the beauty of that time as it is given for that purpose. It teaches us not to fear the reaper and to understand that the fear of Death itself has become a disservice to fully appreciating the memories we are able to make while we are able to make them. Julia Louis-Dreyfuss is a gem in this role as a mother of the amusing and vivacious Tuesday, her daughter who despite having a terminal illness is so unique and spontaneous that even Death is taken aback and unable to take her when Death had originally been summoned to be her angelic companion to the spirit world. The trailer brought me to tears and compelled me to watch the movie, and I would recommend that anyone looking for a heart-rending story with phenomenal acting and a thoroughly inspiring storyline watches it.

This movie delivers a deeply unsettling and gripping psychological thriller that keeps you on edge from start to finish. The film masterfully explores themes of fear, guilt, and moral dilemmas, with a narrative that gradually escalates tension and suspense. Its slow-burn approach allows for a truly immersive experience, where every interaction feels charged with hidden menace. The cinematography and sound design amplify the eerie atmosphere, making even the quiet moments feel unnerving. James McAvoy's performance is a standout, bringing emotional depth and nuance to his role. His portrayal is raw, layered, and deeply human, allowing the audience to connect with his character's internal struggles. McAvoy reaches new heights in this film, grounding the horror with a believable and empathetic performance. It's one of those roles that will linger with you long after the film ends. I give it 7 stars.

Justin is the movie focus stealer in this film by far. With consideration to everything he brought to bringing it up off the ground and the chemistry he pours into his role I was left in unexpected awe! It was easy to see how Lily overlooked many of the red flags exhibited before her with the various degrees to which she is pursued and by her new employee and closest friends sibling. I feel that Justin hit the ball out of the park with this and that Blake Lively is good in her role as Lily but the tension and the underlying uncertainty yet provocative magnetism between these two translates well to a palpable attraction and the stakes by which Lily falls onto her deeply winding spiral with her seemingly ideal **** when Brandon Skelnar comes into the picture as Lily's ex from childhood the stakes rise. There was line that hit my heart so hard where he tells her if she ever feels like falling in love again, to fall for him that completely sent me beaming with adoration.
