Brian Netto and Adam Schindler’s gimmicky nail-biter is intense and creative enough to quicken your heartbeat and make you wonder if you’d be clever enough to survive in the same situation.

Don’t Move’s protagonist may be rendered inert, but the film retains just enough energy and menace to spare.

Kelsey makes this movie so great and it shows her acting skills because for most of it she cannot speak much - instead having to use her eyes and expressions and the vague motions she can to help express what she is feeling. She taps into sorrow and helplessness fabulously and the movie is one that keeps you wondering what will happen next even as you watch in shocking at every adrenaline passing second you see what the main character endures. Again, evidence of the great actress playing her part to perfection. I found that the movie is engrossing, and it has so many nuances of the human experience in scenarios they might least expect to find themselves in.

Kelsey Asbille plays a woman in mourning for her son, when she encounters a friendly man on the mountain (Finn Wittrock). Before long he injects her with a toxin that slowly stops her muscle function, so he can abduct her for his own sick pleasure. The rest of the film puts her in one dangerous situation after another, each one continues to build the tension. Asbille does well, considering she often doesn't have much more than her eyes to work with. Wittrock effectively creates a cold villain. Although the situations might push credibility a bit, the co-directors Brian Netto and Adam Schindler have created a truly edge-of-your-seat experience.

Pacy thrills are doled out in a solid Sam Raimi-approved pulse-raiser with a few nifty ideas up its sleeve. Shall we try ‘Don’t Smell’ next?

When I say that Don’t Move is the modern equivalent of a Corman movie, that might make it sound more trashy or exotic than it really is. It’s not some future cult classic. But it is an expedient, efficient piece of filmmaking that does exactly what it needs to do, no more and no less, to exploit one great idea — the terror of being trapped in your own body, unable to move or speak.

Don’t Move is a tense but ultimately forgettable experience that will likely leave you — much like its protagonist — staring tiredly, and blankly ahead.

This film is simply a simulation of the genre beats you expect in a story about a man kidnapping a woman in the woods. The cloying setup also leaves much to be desired, as does the anti-climatic ending

It is true that the film has details that will be quite familiar to us. What it has in its defence is that it keeps the viewer in suspense for 90 minutes, in a functional way. For a weekend afternoon, with no other aspirations.

Pretty well conceived and implemented, its obviously a kind of stupid high brain concept, but remains effective.

Novel-enough premise with a promising start...poor followthrough. But at least it didnt feel too woke, except perhaps the obnoxious ending song. For a film that wants to be above a bad slasher flick, there are just too many dumb behaviors by intelligent characters who would never behave the way they do. The woman receives multiple lifelines but unfortunately they're all just too dumb to realize the incredibly bizarre situation should be treated as such. Spoiler alert, the guy in the woods goes into his house to call the cops, but then later on has not yet called the cops and has to do so again without ever explaining why they aren't already there. Don't let Sam Raimis name trick you into thinking this will be **** acting is decent as is the direction, but the writing becomes so thin and unbelievable it might as well be any bad slasher flick in the woods...except it is broad daylight.

one of those movies that only exists if every character makes the dumbest decision every time

Decent performances by the leads are forgotten due to the lifeless, bland story that does nothing to keep you interested.
