It's killer, dude! [17 October 1997, p. 52]

Another Kevin Williamson triumph, a smart, sharply drawn genre film with a moral center and a solid cast of young actors to hold it.

The first 20 mins were good and the last 20 mins were good, the rest was kinda confusing, convoluted and just filler lol. 10/10!

While it is clear this is one of the movies that perhaps was trying to cash in on the success of Scream, I Know What You Did Last Summer is still in my opinion a solid and enjoyable film. The plot isn't necessarily original and that's not where this movies shines. Where this movie shines is in the performances of Sarah Michelle Gellar and Ryan Phillippe. Gellar and Phillippe give stellar performances and Gellar's performance is a foreshadowing of her spot in Hollywood as a scream queen. Jennifer Love-Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr., being the leads, give relatively weak performances in my opinion. I think if you go into this movie not taking everything so seriously you will enjoy it for what it is: a simple, yet enjoyable 90s slasher.

Despite an inordinately complicated third-act resolution, it's head-and-shoulders above most so-called suspense films.

Predictably, the derivative title here is a jumping-off point for another derivative slasher-revenge pic. [17 October 1997, p.5D]

Competent but uninspired thriller.

Though it flies in the face of credibility and becomes downright silly by its end, I Know What You Did Last Summer knows its way around the rules of the popular horror-film genre.

The best shot in this film is the first one. Not a good sign.

I do not know why people hate this movie. It was a great movie! It creeps me out. Well anyways while this one is good I CANT say the same for the other 2 movies.

Starts with an intriguing opening and has some great scares but has a pretty un rewarding resolution to its story. JLH gets hotter, and worse at acting, as the movie goes on.

Sin Scream, no habría esta película, buena en su época, aunque no ha envejecido para nada bien mientras Scream sigue siendo genial.
