This game is embarrassing. Do not buy this game. It is just too long and full of fetch quests. The story is corny melodrama with moustache twirling villians and a cliched plot. The voice acting is only slightly better than AI. They also packed the game with mindless mini games to pad out the run time. Combat is bad. The mechanic of being both turn based and live action at once was implemented poorly. Every boss battle is the same--just a different mix of rotating immunities and weaknesses and a ton of visual noise. This game might have the worst dodge in history too. I am definitely not buying FF7 Rebirth or maybe even another Square-Enix game again. Leave this game to the Simps and kiddies who ship Tifa from their parent's basement. Oh yeah, and the critics who play on easy too.

How does this have such a high score? It's literally the definition of grocery list open world. It's like a generic MMO without the massive world, multiplayer, or anything that makes MMOs fun. Just a bunch of dumb, busy work and repetitive quests. It is so boring. If this was a Far Cry game it would probably be a 5 or 6 at best. How much are the critics getting paid? Also, I ran into a glitch towards the end where the story mission just stopped progressing and the next mission didn't appear. F*ck critics for propping up this garbage and f*ck Rockstar games.

There is just something fundamental about Halo that 343 studios does not understand. They don't know when to say when. They pack campaigns with filler and canon fodder, recycle boss fights, ane have no idea how to design a tactical fight. The pacing is bad, too. Literally, everything a mediocre studio would do. This game was made when open world was the big fad and I'm not sure whether it was a good idea or bad idea to make Halo open world. However, I do know the campaign is not constructed well. I don't like 343 studios. They are killing Halo, which is one of my favorite franchises. I have little hope for the new rebranded Halo studios to save the franchise because it seems like just another rehash. Meet the new studio, same as the old studio. WARNING: IF YOU DO A LOT OF THE SIDE CONTENT YOU WILL BE SICK OF FIGHTING THE SAME ENEMIES BY THE END OF THE CAMPAIGN.. EVERY ENCOUNTER IS THE SAME.

This game is too long with too much grinding. I'm the type of player who completes a lot of side quests as I go along but by the final stretch I was just skipping that side content and wanted to get the game over with due to fatigue. They should have shortened the main quest line. Also, a lot of the optional content isn't really optional unless you want to be pretty weak with nerfed abilities and gear. You will find yourself under leveled for the main content if you don't grind. Other than that, I found the gameplay loop enjoyable. Although, I wished they leaned into the roleplaying element a little heavier but that is just a personal preference. The story is pretty good too. And some of the choices you make have real consequences which I appreciate. The ship combat is terrible and can be frustrating. The game lost a point just for that. I quit playing after the game made me battle 5 ships at once to advance an optional quest that I wanted to complete after I finished the game. I don't enjoy ship combat so I'm not going to grind and upgrade my ship for their stupid quest. I uninstalled the game. Ubisoft is so hit or miss with everything they do. Sometimes they strike genius but other time they just create tedium. They are such a frustrating company and it shows from how people view them. You have to be a hardcore AC fanboy not to see it.

I put points into sneak and wanted to play a stealth build but enemies were too strong to stealth kill right after the tutorial level. The tutoral level makes stealth kills seem like it is just a matter of getting behind an enemy undetected to stealth kill them, which is difficult enough sometimes. Gatekeeping a basic play style behind min-maxing your character's equipment and stats right from the beginning is a terrible design choice. I uninstalled the game.

Not as good as the Bungie Halo games but not a bad game. They improved the Promethean weapons and made the Promethean enemies less annoying but still inferior to the Covenant. The campaign is too short and feels somewhat rushed. They keep repeating the boss battles until you are sick of them. The levels aren't designed as good as the original Halo games, especially towards the end of the game. The flying levels are pretty weak by Halo standards and very on the rails too. The story isn't as bad as people say although the ending is a gigantic mess. The gameplay was mostly fun even if it falls short of OG Halo. This game is over-hated because it still does some stuff pretty good. Don't let the gatekeeping Halo fanboys from back in the 360 days discourage you from giving it a shot.

Do you watch Kurosawa and play video games? Give it a 10/10 cause you know what it means. "Dude, it's Japanese folklore." Sony just keeps putting out these easy, safe, narrative driven snoozefests and critics keep rewarding them for it while the video game medium stagnates. It's not a horror game because it's not scary unless you think predictable jump scares and constant noise is scary. It's an action game but not fun because half the enemies are just annoying and/or rehashes from the first game. They recycled most of the first game and it became monotonous after awhile. Look, another elevator. Look, another lock down arena with a horde of enemies. Look another QTE insta-kill event. Look, another easy but slow zero gravity puzzle. This franchise is dead for a reason (pun intended). Good riddance. Just play the remake of Dead Space. Don't bother with this uninspired sequel. The developers ran out of good ideas a long time ago. The story is good with a satisfying conclusion. The open worlds are detailed and well constructed. The characters are great and the voice acting is excellent. So is the animation. The gameplay is where the issues arise though. The stealth is really one dimensional. The game gives you guns but you really don't want to shoot anything because it is so much more difficult than stealth. Which I dont mind because I like stealth but there isn't much to stealth in this game. I hate how you have to be perfectly behind an enemy to trigger the one hit stealth kill. It's really touchy, if you dont hit the enemy in the head perfectly it can alert everyone around you. Some of the puzzles are fun, some not so much. Same with the platforming. I just feel like extra time could have been spent refining the parkour.

One of the worst games I ever played. Too long,. Too repetitive. The story is all over the place. The satire is juvenile. Is it a gritty hood story, a goofball power fantasy, or another Mafia rags to riches tale? Pick a lane instead of making your game 35 bloated hours long of awkward vehicle controls and glitchy gameplay. Every one of these GTAs just recycle the same missions. I"m tired of clearing out a place of minions and chasing down a boss in a vehicle. I can't beleive I finished this game and then my achievement pops up that tells me little over 1% of people did the same. If this game is supposedly so great then how come no one finishes it? I played the original, then played the remake, and now I'm playing the same thing a third time as DLC and its stale. The puzzles are 5th grade level except for one which is pretty cool. Ada is poorly voice acted. Every time I saw Leon I wanted to pick up the adventure where he was going. What a rehash. I dont care that its the same length as the RE3 remake. The RE3 Remake was bad so comparing favorable to it in length because your game is full of filler means almost nothing. This is an asset dump. What's the big deal with this DLC? The pacing is like an arcade game. The game never gets a chance to breath because there never is downtime. Enemies can be stupidly bullet spongey and weapon damge is seemingly random. Last of all, the allies would have lost WW2 if soldiers were as flat out terrible and mostly useless as your AI companions in this game. I don't want the AI winning the game for me but they will legit just miss or ignore targets right in front of them. The squad AI was better in Half Life 2 than this game. A 20+ year old game. No excuse for this. There are absolutely no tactics in battle either. You're always out numbered and getting ambushed in predefined corridors. The allies are complete idiots, always pushing directly into numbers. It's extremely immersion breaking too. The developers wanted to make a squad shooter without the squad tactics.

The combat is literally the easiest part of this game, except when it gets cheap with range attack spam. It's a simple block/dodge/combo system but the general movement and lack of camera control just take a lot of the fun out of the game. Swimming controls are bad, too. This game is fun with great graphics and story but ridiculously tuned. Especially, some of the boss battles which are too long and get boring by repetition. Combat gets stale after awhile. Parry, parry, parry, parry, parry, parry, parry, parry, parry, parry, parry, parry, parry, parry, parry, and parry...instead of coming up with strategies, the devs just add a different type of parry. To make a boss more difficult they just increase the number of attacks because all this combat boils down to is twitch reflexes and memorization. I liken it to a slot machine. There are a ton of bells and whistles and rewards to give you a dopamine hit but you're really just pushing a button over and over again. This isnt a new concept either. I have no clue why people are acting like this game is introducing anything new. Paper Mario had a dodge system. These devs should just make a Soulslike, The turn based combat in this game is shallow and over-tuned. Good game but not a masterpiece. I'm taking off an extra point because the devs are clearly spamming the user reviews with positive reviews. So many accounts with only a review for this game. Fake.

Half-Life 2--a 20 year old game--has better facial animations. It just looks very last gen. However, the shooting is fun and it keeps a brisk pace mostly, except for some stagnant parts that hurt the pace of the game. If you put in the time and do the work you're a killing machine by the end of the game. This is a good thing. They also take advantage of this by charging you, so its tough to be strategic at all when the AI always has an artificial advantage. It gets old real quick. Gears of War does this so much better. I'm not going to equalize things by grinding the same enemies for hours. If you're going to make a game like this then you have to make it more interesting than popping in and out of cover to fire a couple shots from your pea shooter rifle ad naseum. Every boss fight is killing the adds then kiting the bullet sponge boss. The controls are clunky too. If you played the game then you know what I'm talking about. It's like Remedy personally drained video games of a lot of their fun in the name of fiction. This game takes itself so serious. It's also not scary. I am tired of games that just flash spooky images on the screen while you walk because it's overdone, uncreative, and boring. At best it might get a jump scare. I read one critic raving about these same cheap jump scares. Come on, was this their first rodeo? FEAR did this better 20 years ago and its been beaten into the ground since. Seriously, game critics need to do a better job for the future quality of video games. This game just begs you to not use stealth. If you're in the dark, they can still see you. If there is a loud gun battle going on, they can still hear you slowly creeping. You can tell there was a ton of gameplay mechanics they didn't have a chance to fix or refine. The mark and assassinate ability is just to cover up how trash the hit boxes are. Nothing like hitting an enemy with a stun gun point blank and it not working and the enemy immediately knowing where you are and alerting everyone in the whole map to your exact location. Ubisoft wonders why they killed this franchise. They tried stuffing it with so much garbage and left the core gameplay bad. It's all style and no substance. For example, you'd think when an enemy has full head to toe body armor they might have some reduced peripheral vision, hearing, and movement speed. Nope, those dudes have no disadvantage whatsoever. They react and turn in a millisecond and are just as quick as the regular guards in shirts and pants. It's the little things like this that drag this game down. An inattention to detail. I mostly liked the story but this game has too many flaws. Literally spent 20 minutes on one mission and then couldn't complete it because the AI I was escorting glitched out and wouldn't follow me. There are no checkpoints so I have to start the mission over and do the same boring "drive here, shoot this guy then shoot that guy" tedium I've done on a million other missions. This game is coded terribly and wasting lots of your time. Sorry, I just don't have the patience for this. Developers like Bethesda get criticized for releasing glitchy games but in my experience GTA games are worse. The gaming media cherry picks which games to fault for glitches and bugs. Also, some of these missions are scripted right down to when your bullets actually work. The fact that enemies are sometimes invulnerable so the set peice will play out is immersion breaking and goes against everything an open world game should be. Nevermind that the basic mechanics of the game are bad. The driving feels like you're steering a partially full water balloon floating an inch above the ground. It's not "realistic." The shooting and cover system is at best clunky and at worst doesnt even work. Then there are missions that fail through no fault of your own but because the AI does something stupid and gets killed. 97 Metascore, yeah right. This is a mediocre game and when I see something like 14% of players with the story completion achievement, I wonder how many people that rate this game highly actually finished this game like I did. The gameplay and atmosphere is fun at times but a lot of this is wannabe Resident Evil with hackneyed Alien rip off plot. We should expect more from our video games. There is one battle early on where you fight a mini boss with one weakness that there is no way of telling until the voice in the sky tells you it after you have wasted half your ammo doing no damage. Now, sure most players probably just restart the section from a save point with the new knowledge that makes the battle relatively easy, but that is poor game design and this game has too much of that. The gameplay loop is a sci-fi version of "your princess is in another castle". Once you have fixed something you need to fix something else and on and on. Somehow it feels more repetitive than Resident Evil though. RE is another franchise guilty of a similar cliche but Resident Evil mixes it up better. This game would be better without the padding and back tracking. I am not sure why they felt the need to make the game so long. I never played the original but I read that it was shorter. This may be a case of developers stuffing their ideas into a remake and causing bloat. The game starts out survival horror but seems to forget subtlety all together before repeating the same tricks. It would be better if they let some of this breathe a little with atmosphere and dialed down the hordes after hordes of aliens.

I enjoyed the campaign. It's very polished with a lot of variety. The characters are good too. The ending was anti-climatic though. I felt like there should be one last mission that pulled out all the stops. In that regard, it feels somewhat unfinished.

Its a fine game but there is no reason the single player should require me to be on network to play it. The networks failed to connect and I can't play. It's not my internet because I connect to everything else fine. Stop making online a requirement for single player campaigns. These gaming companies have unstable networks that go down frequently and the consumer is punished because of their greed.

A good campaign but overrated. Too short and a cookie cutter plot does not make a masterpiece.

This game is more like a 7 or probably 6 but I gave it an 8 because people exagerate how bad it is. There are some good parts and it's worth checking out on Gamepass.

Maybe the best Resident Evil since RE4. I'm in the minority who slightly prefers this to RE7. Sure, the last quarter of the game is a let down but up until it turns into a bad Call of Duty clone, it's an enjoyable game.

This game is dumb. Graphics are bad, controls are bad, and enemies aren't scary. Right from the jump you have to do everything in a linear order or important objects don't appear for you. Trying to solve a puzzle? Oh wait, important parts are missing unless you did A, B, and C in a specific order. It's artificial difficulty and I'm not enjoying a stupid linear game with bad voice acting that I have to wander around to trigger specific cut scenes in a specific order to progress or look at a guide. Play Resident Evil. Any Resident Evil over this.

This game is vapid nostalgia bait. Please dont listen to the critics who just have nostalgiia for the pixel art JRPG past that was replaced by better systems. They yearn for simpler times when they were 15 years old. Those times aren't coming back. I'm tired of these people being unable to look at things objectively and propping up retrogressive crap like this. I was so bored that I couldn't finish this cutesy snoorefest.

Cheap deaths: The Game. I don't mind difficulty but a lot of deaths are caused by the poor camera and input lag. I bet if they fixed these things this game wouldn't be that difficult. People just accept it though like it's part of the genre though. It just leads to a larger luck factor. The world and the lore are great though. I really like the dungeon design, too.
