Until Fallout: New Vegas gets a major patch that fixes the problems, it can only be recommended to gamers who have a high threshold for frustration.
If you didn't enjoy Fallout 3 or are not a fan of RPGs in general, then you'll probably disagree with me. Everyone else should seriously consider taking a road trip to New Vegas.
The technology of the newest part of the fallout series is over aged and besides the hardcore mode and the reputation-system, the new features of New Vegas are manageable. But altogether, New Vegas is a successful new part and not just an add-on, with more than 100 hours of gaming, an interesting story and a new setting to explore.

Yep. This game is peak. The only thing that would make it a 10 is if it was remastered. The game lags and crashes pretty bad mainly in the last quest. Fallout New Vegas has great characters, great writing, great voice acting, great quests, and for the time, great gameplay. This is a must-play in my book. Finished 7/14/2026

Every playthrough feels like coming home to a world full of unforgettable characters, meaningful choices, and stories that still rival the best RPGs ever made. It captures that golden era of gaming when ambitious single player experiences felt like true blockbusters, built with passion instead of trends. Even after all these years, the Mojave has a charm that few games have ever matched. An absolute masterpiece, and one I'll always come back to.

The map, though similar-sized to Fallout 3's, seems more jam-packed than ever – New Vegas is less a sandbox game than whole beach to play around in.

The world is huge and meticulously detailed, the mechanics are captivating, and for all the bugs the rewards of persistence are considerable.

With a major improved control scheme, the introduction of Hardcore Mode, beautifully detailed environments and national landmarks, Fallout: New Vegas is the real Entertainment Capital of the World.

New Vegas is like a Huge DLC, an enormous add-on. But the formula is still fresh and deep.

New Vegas is everything its predecessor was and arguably more, but only if you can put up with a slew of nasty errors.

There's a lot to do, and if you have the time to explore all there is to see, you can spend another 100+ hours in this world.

Creatively, New Vegas gets almost everything right. Mechanically and technically, it's a tragedy. So, it's a simultaneously rewarding and frustrating game, the gulf between what it is and what it could be a sizeable stretch indeed.

Unironically the best action RPG of all time—head and shoulders above anything that hack Todd Howard churns out, especially compared to the utterly dreary *Fallout 4* and *76*, and that mind-numbingly stupid disaster of a TV series. It’s heartbreaking to think of the perfection the newer installments could have achieved in the hands of the "old" Obsidian, and to recall just how much Joshua Sawyer and Chris Avellone loved the series. R.I.P. Fallout (1997–2010).

this game is very fun the music is great the factions feel very cool the ncr is fun Cesar's legion makes for a good bad guy house is a iconic character the gun play isn't as good as 4 and it feels kind of boring with the main story being mostly get to new Vegas kill a guy and then choose a faction was glad to see the brotherhood of steel take a back seat though above average game not my fav in the series

Graphics/performance 3/10 - It's an older game so obviously the graphics aren't as good as modern games. My main issue was the performance. The game crashes ever 10min on PC. Had to redo entire story sections because the auto-saves ****. Also tons of texture pop in when traversing the open world. Gameplay 3/10 - Gun play feels awful. The sensitivity for being scoped in is the same as when yore not, making aiming on controller without VATS impossible. At the same time, VATS doesn't work father than 3ft. The weapon sway is also insane. There's also no sprinting for some reason. Also going in and out of casinos would clear my quick menu for guns, so I ended up just not using it at all. Also most the gameplay is just walking through a dessert. Without the radio I woulda lost my mind. Story 5/10 - The story is overrated. You are a delivery guy who had his package stolen and are trying to get it back. Halfway through the main quest, you confront the guy who stole the package and get it back. After that the story nosedives, as the main goal becomes unclear and the game just turns into helping random NPC's do their chores. If the gunplay was actually fun and my game wasn't crashing every 10min, I might have actually wanted to do more side quests. People say the side quests are where most the good stuff is but I could not be asked. Also, literally half the NPC's are voiced by the same 1 guy, Yuri Lowenthal, the guy who does Sasuke Uchiha and Spiderman. Every time I would hear his voice, my emersion would be ruined. The fact this game was made in 16 months shows, they needed more voice actors. Overall this was my least favorite of the Fallout games. The performance issues and clunky gameplay make it hard for me to recommend. Only people I could see enjoying this are people who want a game where you spend 100+ hours going through dialog with random NPC's.
