The sequel to Joker is far from what most would expect. It’s dark, awkward, and bleak, yet still captivating in its own way. The film takes the form of a courtroom drama, punctuated by musical numbers that occasionally disrupt the pacing. Watching it, I found myself thinking of the classic Greek tragedies, with their themes of fate and downfall. Lady Gaga's portrayal of Harley Quinn stands out—her presence is compelling, and her performance elevates every scene she’s in.

The sequel to Beetlejuice is just as if not more fun than the original. The movie's worldbuilding, production design, and atmosphere are the highlights, and how Keaton does not miss a beat playing Beetlejuice. The script has many great ideas but has too many plot points to do them all effectively.

This movie is enjoyable for a casual watch, particularly for popcorn entertainment, yet beyond that, it lacks substantial depth. Gosling delivers a commendable performance, and the supporting cast holds their own. However, the film's excessive duration by approximately 45 minutes is evident, and the storyline feels disjointed. It would have been better served if it had focused solely on its action-packed elements instead of attempting to blend in elements of a murder mystery and a romantic comedy, both of which it struggles to execute effectively.

The first half of the film is slow-paced and dragging, the final battle in the last hour is entertaining to watch, but there isn't much substance to it. You're supposed to feel for these characters and hope they make it to the end of the film, but the emotional cord of the movie never really hits. As a part two, the movie would have served better being condensed with the first movie and a lot of the nuance cut out.

Challengers is a great high-drama, romantic sports movie. The movie is amazing and intense, from the soundtrack to the fast-paced innovative tennis match shot at the climax of the film. Both male leads do a great job, especially Mike Faist, in playing a playful college player to a depressed professional. Zendaya does such great acting without having to say that much, which is reflected in her presence on the screen.

Argylle is a very jumbled and chaotic movie from a writing and directing standpoint. The film has a difficult time determining what it wants to be, a serious action film or a parody. If the movie just stuck with being a parody of spy movies and kept the movie time under 90 minutes, it could've been something worth watching. All the actors were just in the movie to get their paycheck, and good for them. And while the trailers make it seem that Henry Cavil and Dua Lipa are the main stars, it does pull a switcharoo. Just watch a Bond or Mission Impossible movie if you want action or an Austin Powers movie if you want a parody.

Road House is a decent B movie. Does it do anything groundbreaking? No. But it’s definitely a good at home popcorn movie. Action sequences and the cinematography are the best parts of the film. 30 minutes of the love story could’ve been cut for time, as there is some drag in the middle of the film.

Dune Part 2 can be considered one of the top movie sequels in Hollywood. The direction, action, acting, cinematography, the script, are all top-tier. The cast ensemble is grade A. Chalamet, Butler, and Zendaya all give excellent performances. The costuming, production design, and music are also highlights of why this movie is one of the best productions of sci-fi created in a long while.

Unlike Crystal Skull, Dial of Destiny deserves to be there along with the first three Indiana Jones films. While older, Indy's still got it. The environments, tones, and feel are classic Indy, from the globe-trotting adventure to punching ****. However, some viewers may not like the older Indy's tone or the new character Helena Shaw. And the third act may seem a bit too sci-fi for some Indy fans.

The Northman has a decent 1st act, a great 3rd act, and a mediocre middle act. The cinematography is great, with a lot of excellent camera work and long shots. Alexander Skarsgård takes on the Norseman role paralleling Mel Gibson in Braveheart and Russel Crowe in Gladiator. The action sequences are not grand military battles but several short skirmishes or one on one battles with the main character and his enemies. The story is fitting enough with some mild twists at the end.

The Little Mermaid is one of the better live-action Disney movies. First is the great cinematography from the beginning with the intro sea scenes. Halle Bailey is definitely the star in both voice power and capturing the innocence, adventure, and kindness the original Ariel had in the original animated film. Musical numbers are great, especially Part of Your World and Poor Unfortunate Souls. Mellisa McCarthy also does a fine job and makes the role of Ursula her own.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie is a great and entertaining children's movie that Nintendo fans will love. The story is nothing to write home about but the film is full of colorful and fun moments. The voice acting is actually pretty good, they must have put a filter on Chris Pratt, and Jack Black and Anya Taylor-Joy do an exceptional job voicing Bowser and Peach.

Top Gun: Maverick is as good if not better than the original movie from the 80s. The first and third acts keep in glued to the screen in anticipation to what will happen next. The nostalgia music sounds just as good 30 years later. All actors from Tom Cruise to the younger crew do an exceptional job in their acting. The real jet fighter scenes really encapsulate the jaw dropping moments during several parts in the film. The revamped volleyball scene does not disappoint either. And the film ending with Gaga's epic ballad really seals the deal.

A run of the mill action comedy. The first act is the funniest and it only gets slower paced and drawn out a the movie drags on. There are some funny moments but you can watch this movie and be on your phone at the same time and still get what the movie is about. The movie could have cut an hour out and it still would have been the same film.

Senior Year is a stupid fun comedy that blends the early 2000s with the high school culture of the 2020s. It's not taking any Academy Awards, but it s has some funny moments and is an enjoyable watch.

The movie is all over the place, but the chaos is part of the humor. The commentary on what we've been through the last couple years and just laughing at the downfall of society. The last 30 minutes could have been wrapped up in one. It's supposed to be bad, smoke some weed and enjoy the **** show.

Multiverse of Madness is definitely an entertaining movie, full of cool moments and head nods to things the fans want to see, but the story really is all over the place, filled with many plot holes. If you're a fan of the MCU because of its connections throughout all the movies you'll be somewhat disappointed. Elizabeth Olson's acting is the best thing about the movie and what the Scarlet Witch can do. The ending also falters out without any big battle moment, and if people want to criticize WW84 for a very similar ending you have to do the same here. It's a fun one-time ride, but it really undermines anything that happened before and anything that can happen in the future.

Sorry but the movie is just bad. I appreciate the LGBTQ representation in a Disney movie, even if it was subtle. Even Lisa Kudrow gives a performance where you can tell she doesn't care.

What a roller coaster! And in every good way! This movie is chaotic in every sense of the word. The acting from the cast, where they have to be alternative versions of themselves is superb, especially from Michelle Yeoh, but even JLC. The fight scenes are really something to appreciate, borrowing from the wire work of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, to Bruce Lee, to Jackie Chan. The story itself is good chaos, that even pulls on your heartstrings from time to time. Definitely a must-see film of 2022.

Turning Red is a cute, funny, heartfelt movie with a great ensemble of voice actors. The inclusion of Asian women in an animated movie is wonderful to see. Some characters can get annoying from time to time, and the middle school parts can be a bit awkward. Turning Red is a simple but cute animated film.

West Side Story (2021) is one of the best musicals I've seen in a long time. The musical numbers rival or even surpass some of the original ones. The choreography is top-notch, you can not help but be in awe of the scale of some of these musical numbers, looking at you America. The cinematography is some of the best work Speilberg has done in a long while. He has always been a **** for using lighting to portray certain emotions. Highly recommended for both musical lovers and film geeks.

There may never be a perfect Batman movie, but The Batman may come pretty close to it. The first two acts are a masterpiece. The acting from everyone is top-notch, Robert Pattinson maybe my favorite Batman. Zoë Kravitz, Paul Dano, and Colin Farrell are all excellent. The cinematography is next level, I have never seen a more lived-in Gotham City, the ambiance of it always being gritty, dirty, and corrupt. My only gripes with the movie are its length and its somewhat lackluster 3rd act. This is the Batman movie many comic book fans have wanted for a long time.

House of Gucci is a modern take on the criminal/mobster dramas of the 80s and 90s. The acting is great, in particular, Lady Gaga is the shining star of the film. Some scenes can seem a bit slow, mainly ones involving the minor male actors and support staff. Come for the drama stay for the Gaga.

The movie is definitely taking the Marvel franchise in a completely new direction. The film is absolutely gorgeous, the direction and cinematography are executed well. The movie is really trying to be international, I have never heard and seen so many cultures and languages in a superhero movie before. The action scenes could be more frequent but when they happen they are really fun to watch. The dynamic between the characters is also fluid and natural, think of the dynamic of the different Avengers but instead of working for only a decade, it's been thousands of years. The Eternals is one of my favorite Marvel solo movies to date.

Dune is a movie of epic proportions. Imagine Lawrence of Arabia in space. The cinematography makes this film very aesthetically pleasing. And the score of Hans Zimmer is some of his best work to date. Timothée Chalamet gives his best performance yet, if he doesn't become a star from this film, I don't know what will. For some of the downsides, the story can be somewhat dragged out and there are several long-winded segments that can make the film seem like it needs to pick up pace.

A great unexpected addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film is a combination of Black Panther meets Crazy Rich Asians, both great movies. The plot actually had me guessing, which is a fresh change from superhero movies. The cinematography is excellent for a Marvel movie. The action sequences were breathtaking, using wirework for their action scenes in creative ways, with throwbacks to the wirework in the Matrix and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. The acting from most of the cast do a decent enough job. Awkwafina is the only real comedic relief, so if you are not a fan you may find some parts annoying.

The movie is definitely an upgrade from the first film but it still is subpar to other superhero films like Marvel and even DC. The plot is nothing to write home about. And Tom Hardy like in the last film doesn't give that much range in his character. Carnage was done decently but it strayed from the canon on what the aliens can or can't do from the comics.

The positives: One of the best First Acts to a Bond film, the cinematography is one of the best in the series. This film is truly beautiful. The locations filmed are some of the most diverse and there are lots of easter eggs from past films. The negatives: The movie could have been 30 minutes shorter. The villain seemed like he didn't care about anything, which is weird for a Bond villain.

The accumulation of 10 years and 20+ movies comes to a close and it does not disappoint. Endgame has a brilliant story that is interwoven both in its own right as well with the other movies of the MCU. The epicness, emotion, and humor are balanced in a way that few others can pull off. Great conclusion to an amazing 10 years in the making.

US is a brilliant horror film. Peele has brought a fresh approach to an outdated movie genre. The direction, writing, and acting are some of the best not only in a horror/suspense film but in the recent movie history. Lupita Nyong'o is at her best here, portraying both her roles. The plot twists and story, in general, will keep you guessing but in all the right ways.

The dark dramedy does a great job at revealing a relatively unknown time in British History. All three actresses do a great job in both making you relate to them and revile them. The script and direction are all decent. The costume design is one of the best parts of the film. However, the ending really gives this good film and adequate sendoff.

The movie is the Final Destination movies if they went to art school. The film does have an interesting concept. The death scenes are done in creative ways that are unexpected. However, the film takes itself to seriously in some parts and not serious enough in others. It tries very hard to use pretentious language to sound like they're smarter than you, which works in that you want them all to die.

I would rather gouge my eyes out than watch this movie again. The entire plot is about grown ass men playing tag. That's it. It gets even more stupid from there. A documentary about the men this is based off would have been a better choice.

The Spy Who Dumped Me is a funny and witty movie. Kate McKinnon is the best part of the film, I died of laughter in several parts of the film. The action sequences are pretty great too, considering this a comedy film.

Great film! Awesome visuals and action scenes. The water effects, in particular, were very well done considering something like this has never been done before. Establishing the world of Atlantis and the Atlanteans really was immersive. There were some flaws, however, some of the dialogue and plot is lackluster.

Long winded and pointless. A couple funny moments do not save this 40 minutes too long mediocre Blazing Saddles. Such a wasted cast on a waste of time.

A cute teen romance movie, that isn't perfect but gives the right amount of humor and romance. While it doesn't meet the same level as other high school movies, like Easy A or Mean Girls, it manages to be a decent piece in its own way.

Slow and an over-encumbering plot. The film has way too much dialogue for its own good. And story arcs that are both confusing and boring. While the magical parts are great, they're short and sparse. The cast is great, but it really is a tragedy on how untapped the talent was used.

Great, entertaining film! Rami Malek does and amazing perforamnce in the film, as he transforms into Freddie Mercury. The film does a great job in balancing music, drama and storytelling to give a great piece of entertainment.

A great horror/thriller movie. The scripted is very fleshed out and balanced The children actors all do a spectacular job, I see a lot of great things for most of them in the future if they want to continue acting. Pennywise is a great horror villain, that really scares the **** out of you.

A phenomenal film. Gal Gadot really shines as Wonder Woman. Her and Chris Pine work in sync with each other throughout the film and their chemistry is spectacular. There are some pacing problems in the third act of the film, but it doesn't dramatically take away from the movie as a whole.

A cute and soulful movie that feels like a modern-day John Hughes movie. Nick Robinson does an awesome job in portraying what many teens feel, both straight and gay. And while her role is small, Jennifer Gardner really hits it home in her "big" scene with Simon. The supporting characters are also funny, brilliant and in the right way awkward, just like high school.

The Greatest Showman isn't great, it's just okay. The cast does a decent enough job in telling the mediocre story. The best parts are definitely the musical numbers, but when the music stops and the story starts to be laid out it's slow and cumbersome.

While the movie does have some pacing issues, the move is dark and gritty, in every good way. It is a great superhero movie that has some flaws, and it manages to be a fun action-packed comic book movie.

A jarring love story. Both Armie Hammer and Timothee Chalamet do incredible jobs here that pull at your heartstrings. The way Chalamet is able to be both a troublemaker and innocent, naive young man conveys both sides of young adulthood. The cinematography is gorgeous compared to other romantic dramas, being set in the picturesque background of rural Italy.

A decent thriller movie, that had me intrigued for the majority of the movie. A unique way of telling a story through sound, this movie has some of the same energy as Cloverfield and the Sixth Sense. The suspense and tension elements are some of the best I've seen in a while.

Confusing and nonsensical. **** is one of the most chaotic pieces of fiction I've seen in recent memory. Many characters are pointless and do nothing for the plot, the only redeeming party is Michelle Pfeiffer's role in the film.

The Last Jedi is the prime example of what great sci-fi and fantasy is. Just like how the Emire Strikes Back flipped the original movie on its head, the Last Jedi does it with the entire franchise. The acting and cinematography have never been better in a Star Wars film. It truly is a gorgeous film. Fans are upset on the road we are now on, and people are afraid of change but fear leads to the dark side.
