With beautiful animation, Strong humor, Highly likeable characters, Terrific voice performances, and a great soundtrack, Migration is one of Illumination’s best films yet and is a fun time for the whole family.
Decent Adaptation While it’s definitely not the best manga adaptation, 2009’s Astro Boy is still one of the better ones with Decent animation, A strong cast, And fun action.
One Of The Better Remakes While it’s obviously nowhere near as good as the original 1989 classic, The live action Little Mermaid is still a good film with Terrific performances (Especially from Bailey and McCarthy), Catchy and well written songs (Except Scuttle’s song which was absolutely terrible), And 80% of the visuals underwater are absolutely stunning.
A Lot Of Fun While definitely not perfect and has some weak writing, Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts still has Beautiful visual effects, Terrific performances, Thrilling action, And pretty funny humor. Definitely not as good as Bumblebee but definitely way better than most of the Bay films.
Surprisingly Strong After being delayed a WHOLE TWO YEARS, Minions: The Rise Of Gru is finally here and I am very happy to report that this film exceeded my expectations as this entry in the franchise still has Beautiful animation, Fantastic voice performances, Fun action, A nice balance between the Gru and Minion plots (50% a Despicable Me prequel and 50% a Minions sequel), Genuine heartfelt moments, The 70s look and feel is gru-vy (No pun intended), and of course the Minions are absolutely hilarious and are definitely at their funniest since at least the second Despicable Me. Overall, Minions: The Rise Of Gru is a massive improvement over it’s 2015 predecessor and the best film in the franchise since Despicable Me 2 and If you want to simply have fun if you’re feeling down, I think this film will help cheer you up.
It’s Alright Though there’s issues like a Messy script, Some dumb moments scattered throughout, And Things that don’t make sense, Jurassic World: Dominion is an improvement over Fallen Kingdom with fun action, Beautiful visuals, Decent humor, The return of the original cast is a great sight to see, And the last 15 minutes are strong. Overall nowhere near as bad as critics are saying, But not exactly a great film either, Just alright.
One Of The Best Sequels Ever Made After multiple delays and wondering when the film would come out, Top Gun: Maverick is finally here 23 months later than originally anticipated and HOLY ****! This is one of the absolute best sequels ever made with Flawless writing, Incredible performances, Extremely relatable characters, Intense flight scenes that have insane stunts, and Strong emotion put into it. Overall, Top Gun: Maverick is up there with The Godfather Part 2, The Empire Strikes Back, Aliens, Terminator 2, The Dark Knight, and Blade Runner 2049. GO SEE THIS FILM!
Really Damn Good With unique and beautiful animation, A fantastic cast, A strong script, Absolutely hilarious humor, and Loveable characters, The Bad Guys is a damn great time.
So-So Though it is an improvement over its mediocre predecessor, The Secrets Of Dumbledore is still a disappointing entry into a once promising franchise though it is fun enough to entertain some.
Better Than The Original With a crisper script, More fun action, Tails and Knuckles are terrific new additions, Strong performances, Funnier humor, And a lot of heart, Sonic 2 is a rare sequel that is better than it’s predecessor.
Great Start Before you ask, No I will not talk about Sonic’s original design here. That out of the way, With a fantastic cast, An absolutely hilarious performance by Jim Carrey, Beautiful visuals, Fun action, and Strong humor, This adaptation of Sonic The Hedgehog is a good start to a new franchise for Paramount.
REALLY BAD While the trailers weren’t that great and I was expecting it to be a mediocre or okay film, I never thought it would be awful. Then the reviews came out and they were BRUTALLY BAD. But what are my thoughts on Morbius? HOLY **** THIS WAS GARBAGE! First the positives, Tyrese Gibson was decent enough and maybe one or two action scenes were okay but that’s about all the positives I can think of from this film, Now the negatives and there’s A LOT of cons. First, The performances range from terrible (Matt Smith’s performance starts off okay, But gets REALLY overly hammy and ridiculous in the second half of the film) to mediocre (Jared Leto), The CGI looks like a cutscene from a Xbox 360/PS3/Wii game, The humor isn’t really good, The action mostly ****, Considering the character is really violent in the comics the isn’t very bloody because it is held back by it’s PG-13 rating, The post credit scenes are one of the worst I’ve ever seen in a comic book adaptation, And the script is complete and utter garbage. However the film is also somewhat of a “Hilariocity” as there are so many things like the CGI, Action, and So many weird **** that were so terrible I couldn’t stop laughing at how awful it was. Even though my expectations weren’t very high, I’m still shocked at how bad this film was and this is a film not worth your time.
Probably Pixar’s Least Kid Friendly Film Turning Red is one of Pixar’s most controversial films to date and you can definitely see why. The story is basically an allegory about puberty, There’s many not so subtle non-family friendly references like Stripper Music, Erotic fanart, And Tampons. That out of the way (And those aren’t criticisms of mine), Turning Red while on the high tier of Middle-Tier Pixar, Is another strong entry into Pixar’s lineup with Beautiful animation, Likeable characters, Absolutely hilarious humor, And a great handling of the subject of puberty and growing up.
Did Not Disappoint In The Slightest With a smart script, Incredible performances, Fun action, A terrifying villain, Beautiful visuals, And a dark tone that fits well, Matt Reeves’s take on Batman is another incredible adaptation of the caped crusader.
Fun Adventure Film Though it’s nowhere near as good as the games and the casting is a mixed bag, Uncharted is still a fun adventure flick for those simpily wanting a fun time watching a movie.
Wow This Was Abysmal After Disney shut down Blue Sky in 2021, They got another studio to do the film. Considering how much I hated Collision Course, My expectations were already extremely low and the trailers seemed to confirm that (The bad animation was a particular red flag) and I instantly knew it was gonna be trash. But the question was, “How bad would it be?” Would it be at least slightly better than Collision Course? Or would it be Emoji Movie levels of insufferable? Welp I saw it in January and… WOW, This was way worse than I expected. Okay but are there any positives? Well it was kinda nice to see Simon Pegg voicing Buck again and Justina Machado‘s performance and character were honestly kinda okay (Still extremely bland however), And Crash & Eddie were a bit less annoying than they were in Collision Course. That’s literally all the positives I have about this film. Now the negatives, The screenplay is about as pretentiously by the numbers and generic as you can get, The animation is f*cking atrocious, The voice acting (Except for Pegg, Machado, and the guys doing Crash and Eddie) is one of the absolute worst I’ve heard, The villain is pathetic and very annoying and makes the dinosaur birds in the 5th film look like Soto in comparison, The characters are blander than toilet paper, And they **** Buck again with him being just this ultra bland hero type character. The only reason I’m not giving this pile of **** a 0 is only because of the very tiny positives I listed. If you want to see Buck and The Lost World, Just watch Dawn Of The Dinosaurs again instead of this garbage.
Strong Instalment Of The Franchise With fantastic kills, Hilarious humor, A great script, Tension, And a great shot at modern sequels, The fifth instalment of the Scream franchise is one of it’s best.
Just As Amazing As It’s Predecessor With new Likable and charismatic characters (Calloway, Porsha, and Nooshy in particular), Stunning animation, Catchy music, Strong humor, Terrific voice performances, And rich emotion, Sing 2 is as good as if not slightly better than it’s already fantastic predecessor.
Another Strong Disney Film With stunning animation, Catchy songs, Memorable characters, Strong humor, and Terrific voice performances, Encanto is another strong entry into Disney’s film collection.
Very Underrated Despite receiving critical acclaim, Raya hasn’t gotten the best reception from Disney fans and honestly I don’t know why, Yes not everything about the film is perfect and Sisu isn’t for everyone, But I personally loved it with it's strong cast, Likable characters (Sisu was absolutely hilarious), The animation was stunning, And the action was a lot of fun.
Funny And Nostalgic With fantastic performances, Likeable characters new and and old, Fun action, Cool and creepy ghosts, Hilarious humor, And a lot of heart, Ghostbusters: Afterlife is a bustin good time.
Incredible Film With a very talented cast, Mindblowing visuals, A very strong script, Compelling characters, and Solid directing, Dune is one of the best book to film adaptations of all time.
Another Round Of Ridiculous Fun While Venom: Let There Be Carnage isn’t too much of an improvement over it’s still decent predecessor (Quality-wise, Both are neck and neck), It’s still decent fun with Strong performances, Crazy CGI, Fun action, Funny humor, The banter between Eddie and Venom is still a joy to watch, And the action is still fun to watch.
Stupid, But Fun Though it has issues like A kinda messy script, Some stupid and ridiculous scenes, And a pretty bland villain, Venom is still quite fun with Great performances, The banter between Eddie and Venom is absolutely hilarious and will never get old, The CGI while not amazing is still decent and freaky, And the action is fun. Overall, If you’re looking for a movie to turn your brain off and just have fun, Then Venom is a decent recommendation.
Highly Satisfying Start To G5 With beautiful animation, Strong writing, Likeable characters, Terrific voice acting, Catchy songs, And overall very fun, MLP: A New Generation is a strong start to a new era of the franchise.
A Unique Mix Of Action And Horror With a unique mix of Action and Horror, Terrific performances, Strong humor, An absolutely terrifying villain, Brutal deaths, and Fun action, Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness is a unique entry into the MCU.
Mindblowingly Brilliant Spider-Man: No Way Home is Visually stunning, Emotional, Hilarious, Nostalgic, Action packed, Brilliantly acted, and is one of the absolute best films in the MCU so far.
Massively Disappointing And So-So MCU Film I was absolutely pumped for this film considering it’s director had a terrific track record, It had a talented and diverse cast, And boy did it look ambitious as hell. First the positives: The visuals were f*cking incredible and jaw-dropping, The first act was pretty good, The performances were terrific, The action was cool, And the MCU humor was still funny. But unfortunately, Now we have to get to my issues with the film. The second and third acts of the film are very confusing and crazy, The writing wasn’t very good, The characters are kinda forgettable, The film is excruciatingly long, And is kinda boring at times. Overall, While definitely not a bad film, Eternals is a so-so disappointment and is tied with Thor: The Dark World as the worst MCU film to date.
Another Terrific Entry Into The MCU With terrific performances, Likeable new characters entering the MCU, Fun action, and fantastic visuals, Shang-Chi is yet another fantastic MCU origin film.
Absolutely Hilarious With wacky visuals, Terrific performances, Loveable characters, Fun action, Hilarious dialogue, and a well told story, The Suicide Squad is yet another example of James Gunn making a brilliantly fun film.
Pretty Good Even though it’s not one of Pixar’s elite films, Lightyear is still worth watching for it's terrific cast, mindblowing animation, strong humor, and fun action.
Worth The 14 Month Wait After being delayed multiple times due to the pandemic, Black Widow finally came out and…… It’s a middle tier MCU film, It has a few issues, But it’s still quite satisfying.
It’s Fun While not amazing and has issues with the editing, Snake Eyes is still a major improvement over the previous two attempts at a G.I Joe film with fun action and great performances from Golding and Koji. This is a film you can view two ways, As a G.I Joe film it’s not great, But as a Ninja film it’s a pretty good.
A Lot Of Fun With a nice blend of Live Action and Animation, Great performances, and Exciting basketball scenes, Space Jam is worth watching for fans of both Looney Tunes and the NBA.
One Of DreamWorks’s Worst Though I’d prefer this any day over Shrek The Third, Spirit Untamed is just your typical bland kids movie that beams with mediocrity.
Why Was This Made? I get that it’s predecessor did very well at the box office but it didn’t need a sequel considering it one of DreamWorks’s worst films (Though I’d still prefer it over Shrek The Third ANY day). The sequel is equally as mediocre. Not terrible but definitely not good.
It’s Decent It’s nowhere near as good as the first film, But it’s nowhere near as bad as critics and fans say it is. Yes there are quite of bit of parts that are sloppily written and ridiculous, But it’s still quite fun in my opinion.
The Perfect Adaptation Unlike most cartoon adaptations where they make it cringeworthy and hip with the kids while disrespecting it's legacy, The Peanuts Movie is a perfect example on how to adapt a classic cartoon correctly with unique animation that exactly looks like Peanuts, The atmosphere of the film feels like Peanuts, And the characters are just like the originals.
Not Good Despite a almost perfect cast (Especially Goodman and Moranis), Some degree of faithfulness to the cartoon, Creative visuals, And some fun in bits and pieces, This adaptation of The Flinstones has a terrible script, A pretty bad performance from O’Donnel, Hit and miss humor, and is pretty boring at times. It’s not the worst cartoon adaptation (Trust me, The adaptations of Alvin, Garfield, and Smurfs are WAY worse than this) but it’s a very disappointing one.
What A Joke
Geostorm is a boring, horribly written, stupid, has lacklustre visuals, and over the top acting to make it a poor man’s The Day After Tomorrow.
Not Very Funny Despite fantastic visuals, A great performance from Peter Dinklage, A cool Pac-Man chase sequence, And a few funny moments, Pixels is a massive disappointment with most of the jokes being lame, Has bland performances from Sandler, James, and Monaghan and a terrible one from Gad, and gets boring sometimes.
