Alvin and the Chipmunks

Absolutely--four out of five stars for being cuter, funnier, and, besides, the character design far exceeded my expectations.

Lee, acting through gritted teeth, barely musters the energy to yell “Alvin!,” but the chipmunks themselves -- voiced by Justin Long, Matthew Gray Gubler and Jesse McCartney -- are surprisingly appealing, though their newly R&B-tinged rendition of “Witch Doctor” is god-awful.

About as good as a movie with these characters can probably be, and I am well aware that I am the wrong audience for this movie.

Unfortunately, as rendered here by the average-looking CGI effects, the characters are underwhelming in their appeal, lacking the charm of their previous animated incarnations.

Despite its shout-outs to the holiday season, this is essentially airplane fodder, not a perennial. Don’t hold your breath waiting for the sequel.

Lee sleepwalks through his part, even in romantic scenes with equally bland Cameron Richardson.

This partially animated, charm-free atrocity is awful enough to instantly cure any remaining nostalgia for the rodent trio.

perfect for the whole family although almost at the beginning they do not count well as the parents of the 3 proyagonists had shown a flash back of what happened. the rest good fun for children and adults that if they remember the series of the 80s oh 70s qualification: PURE GOLD.

The movie was my childhood and I can say it was alright. I usually don't like cheap humor, which is a weakness, but the storyline was predictable and has some charm. It wasn't until the end that it really trashed. It's like a waste. Anyways, the visuals are really cool for back then, the music was great, Jason Lee was pretty good as Dave, the Chipmunk voices fit, and the visuals for the Chipmunks, they are decent enough. However, the movie gives me nostalgia and I can say it, some of the movie is worth it to see it. I would recommend it for crazy little kids.

A good kids movie that adults can tolerate. I laughed many times throughout the movie.
