The Super Mario Galaxy Movie

User ScoreDubeau
Jun 17, 2026
Mario galaxy was a fun ride overall. The story is typical and very much like the game. It is well done apart from a slower middle section. The humor, the music, that characters all comes from the game. So, if you never played Mario Galaxy you might not get 60-70% of the content. I especially like the villains in this one. They had the best dialogues. The animation is incredible, and there is even some fun 2d inclusions. I though the music didn't lean enough into the game's music. It was too orchestral at time. The music in the games is great and could have been in the movie, then some samples mixing. I give it 65%. It made me smile and was easier to watch then the first. For the adults, you need to be a gamer of Galaxy to enjoy this, in my opinion. For the kids, they will enjoy it for the action and visuals.

War machine is a fair action film. The story is nothing new or really that creative. The element of PTSD are surely interesting. And one thing the story does well is keeping the suspense alive. The action is mostly believable. The CGI are really great. The acting is good from the main actors, some are weaker in the secondaries. Good music and sounds. I give it 70%. Rental family is a very nice movie. The story is emotional. The acting is amazing, not only from M. Fraser but all the casting. And even the side characters have their parts to do within themselves. I think we skip very fast about the police and authority, at a certain point. I do understand that they wanted to keep the story short. So certain aspects aren't fully explored. Good music too. I give it 80%. I don't like drama usually, but that one, I did love. I highly recommend it.

Predator Badland wasn't such a bad film. I was expecting a woke story but that wasn't so much. It was more about clan and family. That said the entire movie is center around action. Some CGI at the beginning were not perfect but after that, it was really well done. The acting is mainly Elle, nice performance in two tones. Music wasn't so bad a very nice sounds. I give it 72%. I thought that Final reckoning, was kind of uneven, all over the place. The story is very predictable, because of the first movie that did state everything. They added a recap into that movie, I was fine with it. The acting wasn't really that convincing this time around. I found it very goofy at times. The action was mostly generic. Although the underwater/submarine scenes and the flying planes were amazing to watch. Kudos on that. The end of Gabriel was underwhelming, to say the least. I mean I understand what it is, but it made me laugh and roll my eyes, in that context. I like the couple at the end, this was a nice arc. Music was ok. Sound works quite good. I give it 65%. The action wasn't bad per say but there was long periods of sentimental fluff that were barely watchable in between. I don't mind drama but for some reason everything was a mix of bad and good dialogues. And it dragged the movie a lot, in terms of slowness. The mystical elements were almost gone or not well presented. The music didn't do anything for me. It is woke ? yes and some parts no. They certainly didn't mix well together. Life of Chuck was certainly interesting. The story is most intricate, since it's in reverse order. It does force you to think of the why... Although the links between the 3 chapters feels a bit too light at times, and some questions remains. It also feels like some elements are missing along the way. In that sens, the editing pose some shadows over the movie. If 2/3 goes relatively well, the last part of the movie is much more slower and a bit boring. And the main characters are only in one chapter, or one other. So there appearances are brief. Music is great. Visually very neatly done with a limited budget for CGI.I give it 70% but, I don't know about that structure and that slow ending.

I like the recurring gags. I though that it was missing some background gags, that you see in those slapstick movies, like Airplanes, **** I am pretty sure you have to watch it more then once to get all the humour. The movie is not that long 77 minutes I think. Around the last part, the movie kind of slow down. I give it 70%. This movie was just ok. The story is interesting and is separate by x chapters. The unique style of WA is still there, but I though there was too many lines given to Del Toro and that it lessen the other characters and deprived them for humour and witty dialogues. Reducing them to merely cameos. The movie also lack some Ma (see Ghibli) moments. It hardly pauses and doesn't give you time to process all those dialogues. So the rhythm is pretty bad. 28 years later is average at best. There are some good things in it. The story is a small family drama with some elements of horror. Great acting, even the young actor. But we barely feel anything for the isolated island occupants. There is a quarantine, and we don't see it, don't really feel it. The ragers a bit more nuance to them but they were more cannon fodder then anything. Quite frankly, it would have been more interesting to find out how the rest of Europe was able to isolate the contagion to Britain. FF4 wasn't that bad. It's certainly on par with Thunderbolts. The story is kind of deja vu. However all the aspects of 1960 future tech are certainly the most fun to see in the movie. The humour is ok, nothing special and at least, it's well dosed and placed. The acting was really good but I still think that Pedro was a bad choice for that role. He was certainly the less convincing of the batch. The CGI were fine, the exception of Silver Surfer. Not only it feels very basic but the look is detrimental to the role. Why the ugly hair ? Why not doing something more elaborate with the silver costume (lines and texture) ? You took risk with the 60's retro futuristic and you do a dumb down version of the Surfer ??? Why ? Galactus looks great by the way. The music was ok. I give it 75%. A good action hero movie with some emotion, but unequal in it's presentation.

I did like that Superman movie, in fact it's one of my favorite. The story is interesting. Superman, is more alien then invincible. He can also be hurt to a certain degree. All the personals aspects of Luther and Lois. And yes, the fear of the politicians toward an alien. I like the humour, especially the Justice gang. There was nothing too develop about them, but they did serve a purpose. Contrary to many, I don't think there was too much humour, or too much characters. The acting was excellent. Nathan Fillion could have stole the movie, but he was use sparsely, and it's fair to the rest of the cast. I also enjoyed Jimmy Olsen. The action and CGI were really good. I think they had a lot of time to do the film justice. There is maybe one scene that feels a bit like the last Flash movie. Nothing dramatic. Music was ok. I give 76%. In fact I would have appreciated a no dialogues movie, with only the monsters, and from their point of view. The messiah part with the girl is just, predictable. the acting is average if not awful. But the actors have bad dialogues to start with. CGI is still great tho with the action. Music is ok. Some sounds effects are just misplaced and very repetitive. I give it 42%. This doesn't compared well after Godzilla Minus One.

GMO was a fun story. The story is quite surprising because it follows very closely a man and his family, after WW2. Very touching story that will get you some tears at times. Don't worry Godzilla is there. You are also showed the state of Japan after the war. The acting is really good. Of course you can almost feel the acting coach with the very young girl, but that's ok. The special effect are fine to amazing. The way they show how heavy Godzilla is, is interesting. And there is no magical: I can stand on the water, with this one. I give it 85%. This is by far, the best Godzilla movie I have seen.

I liked Poor Things. The story is very much for adults and intellectual, yet a bit stupid in certain ways. It certainly speaks of the innocence versus cynicism. the acting is just fabulous. The imagery is special and unique. The world is very imaginative. A lot of sex scenes but the context is important for them. The language is going from very crude to very articulate. If you don't like dialogues with complex phrasing, it might not be for you...from around the middle of the movie. Music and sounds are really good here. Some longer and slow moments around the middle. I give it 88%. Those kinds of movie with sarcasm are pretty rare, so enjoy this one.

Very good follow up to Dune. The story has some deviations to the book, but it is still very accurate. The acting is amazing all around. The action, CGI and filming makes a very solid ensemble. The music transport the film more then you know. Quite frankly, I have very little negative to say about it. You must see it in theatre to enjoy it fully. I give it 90%. Some says it's like another Empire Strikes back. It surely has the vibe of it, but it is it's own thing.

The Marvels is a silly movie. The story starts well and is pretty decent until the half mark. When you get to the singing planet, everything takes a silly, illogical turn. The cat thing is stupid. The villain is absolutely not convincing. She was totally miscast. Kalama and her family do bring a good energy to the movie but after the half mark, the acting becomes also pretty bad. There are some CGI that are very bad and cringy. And in a way, they ruined the best ones. I give it 35%. Mostly for Kamala actress and the first half of the movie. But the second half is just horrible on so many levels.

Ferrari was good but with strange decisions. The story follow the private life of Enzio. Because the rest is kind of there, but sometimes skimmed over. That strange part with selling to Fiat, is incomplete and not really concluded. You have to evoke it, and you treat it like an obstacle. Weird. The acting is surely what elevates this movie. Sensational. Photography is beautiful with Italy landscape. The racing parts are exhilarating but few. Sounds are realistic. I give it 70%. The movie is a bit slow around the middle. It was interesting anyway.
