Transformers: The Last Knight

If you’re not staggered by the technique on display here – the stuff that sets Bay’s work miles above the Fast & Furiouses, X-Men: Apocalypses and Tom Cruise-chasing Mummies of this world – you’re not paying attention.

It’s an unabashed freewheeling mess of CGI explosions, fast-talking strategies and shiny metal monstrosities clashing in epic battles. And it’s actually kind of fun, in an infuriating sort of way, to watch the most ridiculous Hollywood movie of the year do its thing.

It’s all an overstuffed mess, but that was true of the previous entries as well, and audiences obviously don’t seem to mind.

When words fail in The Last Knight, the crunching and crashing and KLANKing of the special-effects scenes take up the slack. Punishingly overwrought in every aspect, Last Knight is a KLANK! KLANK! KLUNKER.

It’s all about as exciting as watching two drawings fight each other on a computer monitor.

While the flagrant product placement is dialed back (at least on Bay’s curve) and there’s mercifully 100% less discussion of sexual consent laws this time around, the latest outing suffers from arguably the most fatal flaw a movie about giant fighting robots can: it’s brutally and relentlessly boring from start to finish.

It is not so much lazy filmmaking as it is a very expensive middle finger to common sense and the basic concept of entertainment.

This being the last Michael Bay Transformers movie, it’s the best of the mainline series. The soundtracks is what usually makes me happy because it’s awesome and never disappoints! People are too worried about frame rates and plot holes. Cancel Culture killed this in the box office. A lot of people didn't go see this because of negative critics and the YouTube haters club. I went into this movie like I did all the other transformers movies I wanted to see lots of giant robot fight action. Love that they brought in Frank Welker as Megatron as a homage to the G1 series. And I love they gave the Decepticons more personality. Its a fun action blast em' up movie. Don't think too deeply or analyze too much, just enjoy this movie with a large sized popcorn and a 32oz drink! From Nemesis Prime's fight with Bumblebee, to robot battles in Medieval England, and to the nonstop action across the globe and in space, it's one of the best action films ever made! This movie couldn’t have been better. Hopefully someday we get to see the planet-sized Transformer Unicron in the sequel to this film...

I stopped going to see Transformers at the theaters after the 3rd movie. I refused to see this monolithic, nonsensical movie in the theaters when it was released. Last night I caught the whole movie on YouTube. If one accepts the silly, out-of-left-field, mythic fantasy ill-woven into the story and the ridiculousness of the entire premise, then the movie is fairly entertaining. Once one accepts the absurdity of the whole plotline, then it's easier to watch the movie. Still not a good movie, but much better than Rise of the Beasts, which was an utter mess.

Plenty stupid but entertaining in its sheer craziness, the cast just plays along and its fairly fun.

Transformers 5 The Last Knight was the last movie by Michael Bay before he left the transformer series and Transformers 5 The Last Knight was a good movie to the Transformers series the plot was intense to where they have Optimus prime turn evil by his creator and the whole fight between Optimus and bumblebee was insane it was intense it was WTF moment seeing Optimus beat the crap out of bumblebee really scared fans and going to have Optimus prime being killed off by a bunch of knights was just going to literally furious everyone but the story focuses on King Arthur and Marlin staff when you find out that what everyone was after
