The Old Guard 2

The film, directed by Victoria Mahoney, is a sure-footed romp that tightens the screws, most immediately by flexing a bigger cast and broadening the lore of the original comic book series.

Although at times it shows a remarkable focus and weight that its predecessor lacked, it also falls victim to the type of cliches and convolution that tend to doom franchises gearing towards the development of still more installments.

Overall “The Old Guard 2” is fine, a bit of a background movie that’s probably easy enough to tune in and out of (though Schoenaerts, a standout, gives it some real pathos). Its greatest sin is the non-ending, which might have moviegoers engaging in their own rants about wasted time.

The Old Guard 2 is a disappointing sequel that isn’t as fun or engaging as the first film and doesn’t do enough with its face off between Charlize Theron and Uma Thurman.

Too much distance has crept in for The Old Guard 2 to feel memorable, and it shows. A convoluted, sequel-baiting mess that proves time is not a healer.

For anyone who even gives even the remotest care about movies, god forbid you dare to waste your time with this utterly disposable discard.

Competent sequel to the Netflix hit is enjoyable. It is a streaming action movie, so don't get your hopes up. But it is still a great way to spend your afternoon.

There’s a lack of tension and creativity. Even the mountain chase—one of the few adrenaline highs—feels isolated in a film that moves on autopilot. The overly solemn tone and absence of humor make the film more self-important than it should be, missing a chance to be lighter and more enjoyable.There are some interesting ideas about time, the loneliness of immortality, and accumulated guilt, but they get lost in underwhelming subplots and clunky editing. Everything feels done with technical precision, but without soul. As if the filmmakers felt obliged to continue—but without knowing exactly **** short, The Old Guard 2 doesn’t insult the audience’s intelligence, but neither does it win them over. Entertaining in parts, but uneven and forgettable. A sequel that makes you appreciate the first one more—and question whether a third is even needed.

Really enjoyed the first movie so was eager to watch this one however this one was really slow. It took a while to get going and I found myself having a flick through social media for pretty much the first hour. It did pick up in the last 30 minutes though which did pick up the rating a bit. Will be interesting to see where they go for the 3rd movie! Also, I think Uma was only in the movie for about 20 minutes!?

Definitely not like the first movie. As usual when Hollyweird decides to push politics that have nothing to do with the plot, you get these type movies. What’s worse is that the ending suggests that they plan to terrorize us with a third movie, smh.
