Ultimately, Supergirl is a story of dealing with loss and managing grief. It’s a movie that reminds us to celebrate what we have instead of wasting energy mourning what we’ve lost. Loss is emotional kryptonite we all share, and it’s clear that Supergirl, despite all her incredible power, also feels it.

With Alcock really making you believe a drunk can fly, Supergirl is still a fine addition to this new legion of superheroes.

I enjoyed the movie a lot more than I thought from all the negative comments. Go watch it an ignore the negativity.

That this movie never matches the brilliance of Miller’s goes without saying, despite the heavy-metal clanging. That Alcock manages to rise above the fray with a performance that never feels like borrowed goods is at once a surprise and a gift.

Alcock’s wildling Supergirl is the one reason to see the film.

These are the moments where Supergirl sets itself apart, particularly with Milly Alcock's unrestrained confidence masking a broken heart.

Given the splash Alcock made in Superman, and the fact that Supergirl is based on one of the best books DC Comics has published in the last decade, this has to be one of the biggest disappointments in recent superhero movie history.

Supergirl plods along, poised between sodden spectacle and snark.

It's just not good enough, even if I would say that it expands the Superman 2025 Universe. There is something terribly wrong with this movie, from the casting, music, action, acting and more. Is this a bad movie? No, is it a mid movie? Also no, it's slightly above average and doesn't do anything or show anything that's like "Wow, you need to see this". It still makes movies like Man of Steel, B vs S, even The Flash seem to be better, because they are... I'll give it a 6/10, but you really don't need to watch it. From what I understand is that, it adapts a very famous comic storyline; unfortunately, it's just not done well enough. I feel that something is there, but it just doesn't justify itself, as for most parts of the film it's not personal. Supergirl is mostly depowered, and they don't use that to really bring out the story that much. James Gunn and his plan to save the DCCU are not going so well. I prefer Zack Snyder to just give us an ultra-dramatic action movie rather than this film that kinda makes Superhero movie fatigue a real thing.

A very bad approach, don't blame the actress is a full responsibility of the people behind, if you want to adapt a comic first the people involved have to be a fan of the genre, not a person who has hidden feministic agendas and just adapt a comic story to what they think should be better, seems the woke agenda and putting people who has not a deep background of comic passion it just comes as a stale piece of money wasted. Watched it and could pass the first 30 minutes, pace was convoluted, all felt forced and hollow, a muppet show has more soul than this.

This movie was boring. Annoying. She's a drunk ignorant selfish spoiled brat. The plot **** is overused and tired. There was nothing original or good about this tired poor excuse for a script. James Gun is too busy trying to push the "Bright Burn" agenda and has no respect for Superman or Supergirl. He obviously was never a real fan of DC and his contempt for Superman shows. It's a poor excuse for a movie. So was the new Superman. The only worse movie was THE BATMAN.
