Crafting a thriller that is tense and taut, Álvarez truly understands what makes an Alien movie breathe, while also expanding on the mythology of the series.

Bloated by two or three elements too many, it isn't a "perfect organism", to use the phrase coined by Ian Holm's android character in Alien, but it's as close to perfect as any entry in the series since Aliens in 1986.

The story is brilliant (and completely makes Prometheus look ridiculous by summarizing the whole movie in under two minutes), the cast is fantastic (what a great idea not to cast any big stars), the directing is admirable and respectful to the original films (thank you, Fede!), and the music… someone please give the composer an Oscar!!

Watched in imax. Watched on Disney+. Love it. Best Alien film since Aliens from 1986. Director really captured the feeling of Scott's first film perfectly. Only downside are the 3 characters: synthetic hater boy, Asian girl, prego girl, all should have been rewritten, but otherwise, the rest of the film is outstanding. Love the atmosphere, sound and audio, really feel like you're there on the outpost in space. Can't wait for part 2...hopefully., Highly recommended!

The movie doesn’t quite stick the landing, piling on while lingering at the gate for an extra 10 minutes or so. The gore level may not be a shock to fans of Alvarez’s previous features, but for the casual franchise fan, well, it’s gory. But the best of Alien: Romulus reminds us that some franchises are more open to a variety of directorial approaches than others.

A final-act development lurches into overblown and slightly daffy extreme sicko horror, but there’s enough that works, especially in terms of sustained tension and big juicy frights, to give the xenomorph-hungry what they want.

If it hadn’t had someone of Álvarez’s care and attention at the helm, Romulus could certainly have been a lot worse.

Alien: Romulus is diverting enough, but it’s also instantly forgettable — something I don’t think I’ve ever said about any other Alien film, good or bad.

The foundational mistake came when someone said, “Hey, let’s make another ‘Alien’ movie.” Newsflash: The alien concept is dead. Leave it alone, and leave poor Ian Holm out of it.

Una película muy entretenida, con el balance perfecto de acción y terror Una película de terror-ciencia ficción que resulta muy divertida

A watchable cashgrab. It's an ok film, but it doesn't do anything new or interesting with the alien franchise. It parodies the bits that everyone remembers from the first aliens film but since it's decades later and not as new or fresh, it doesn't work as well. It's also not all that scary, which is a problem for a sci-fi horror film. The most stupidest part of the film is where the android just blurts out Ripley's most iconic line completely unprompted, like what are the odds that he would say that exact sentence with no prompt or direct call back to the first film?

Frankly disapointed… especially after the master pieces of Covenent and Prometheus. Feels at best like a poor remix of the 4th episode… without the actor and a plot cut to the bone. Look and feel but with too much FX which makes it look a LOT like a video game…a lot of cliché scenes straight out of the 80s… unclear if it was supposed to be fan service but honestly felt weird. Plot itself would be ok for action based video game but not a full blown movie. Dang….Ridley please come back and clean this mess

Recycled scenes from past movies, terrinle CG "Ash", plot holes abound, Alien barely in it and for 90% of the time its in it the just make a scary face and stare, and the hybrid was an abomination...I'd place it last on the rankings of all Alien movies, even lower than AvP as bad as that was it at least had some decent action scenes....Disney killed yet another franchise.
