Some call it a slow burn but I just call it boring. Too slow and really really drags on for way longer than necessary. I chose to stop watching it.

Slow burn anyone? The great part about a mystery is you don’t always need all the answers. Building a mystery doesn’t have to be about the answers, it can be about the journey. Seeing the monster is not always as important as building the characters around it. A mystery needs another mystery, much like the Silo itself, the mystery won’t be fully revealed because, how deep does it really go? The fun part is finding that out. And I think SIlo really excels at that, more and more lore is added in a natural way. It’s kinda of a cheat sheet actually, sardine a thousand people for more than 300 years, and something has to explode eventually.

Best show, even if you factor in Common and how he ruins everything he touches

So, for starters Common is not a great actor and his acting style makes very little sense in the culture of the Silo. His bad acting is distracting at all turns. The show moves pretty slowly. Theres definitely a fair amount of plot holes. It does look at fascism and how fear is a driver for control. Propaganda is used in an interesting way as well as destroying culture / history. It’s simplistic is some ways. The writing could be better. Acting is good aside from Common.

This show gets a 0 for completely and utterly destroying your faculties by the second episode. No one... and I repeat *no one...* is going to believe that cleaning the lens is going to magically and miraculously make everyone else inside of the Silo see what they're seeing after watching hundreds of instances of people cleaning the lens from the inside, and not seeing what they're seeing. This is completely nonsensical, yet somehow the entire plot relies on it, which renders this show stupid by default.

Great show with a very driving story line with plenty of mystique. If i was to compare this to anything then maybe Lost pared with Fallout. Compared to Fallout, 99.5% of the story happens underground. Ferguson does a splendid job carrying the show with her tough-persona lead. Other characters like Tim Robbins (good to see him again) brings viciousness to the table. After 2 seasons i would say this show keeps up well. Happy to tail along the 3rd one when it arrives. Two thumbs up.

I'm halfway through the first season and trying to stick with it. It has a fun and unique concept and setting. I just hope it picks up soon before I lose interest. If it does, I'll be back to re-evaluate.

Put the prettiest skinniest little gal in the hottest dirtiest most physical job in the place. Then have her order all the wimpy cowardly men around. All men are either little stupid or corrupt. It's like a DEI brainwashing scheme, must switch now, is there a John Wayne movie on?

This is one of the best sci- fi TV series out there. The story is intriguing and well put together. The fact that it's a planned limited series means the story is only getting better as it continues and will likely see a satisfying finish unlike many other TV series that just gets cut if ratings drops.

Good premise and a new take on the post apocalyptic scenario. Season one is very strong. Season two lags, but ends well. Acting is good, especially in season 1.

Silo is just the most successful project from Apple TV. Well, and the best series of 2024, although it ended only in 2025. Despite the protractedness of season 2 and the desire to stretch the story as I understand it for 5-6 seasons. Season 2 Silo is simply better than the first one in everything. It's amazing how suspense can be maintained for such a long time between episodes, provided that they were released once a week. Season 2 of Silo gave me the feelings I last had for the series during the release of the new episodes of Game of Thrones. Rebecca Ferguson played just great, and the appearance of new characters and the disclosure of old ones look like an indicative sequel. Only the protracted action can be added to the disadvantages, after all, there should have been more events.

tldr: This (almost great) show is definitely worth it. Unfortunately, an excess of overly dramatic scenes and dialogs turn what could be a true masterpiece into something a bit more ordinary. A heavier and more credible plot would also fit more adequately to the show's amazing premisse and production. I am in the end of 2nd season and consider this watch something worth of my time. As the plot doesn't get too heavy, you can enjoy this easily without that much effort or attention. Hope you like it.

Another one of these annoying series that teases a key revelation and then disregards it at the crucial moment (in this case, the world outside), with no explanation of the HOW and WHY. Up to the last episode of S1, they baited their audience with this revelation, which kept the story on a story path that drove the main character. But hey, now they made you watch till the end and they can just pretend it was meaningless. And no, I don't care if it's based on a book series, stop the dang audience manipulation! This "mystery box" **** has got to stop. Others may think it cool but for me, it is a massive waste of storytelling and a viewer's time. At least I won't be wasting anymore of my time!

Good show, entertaining, well made, amazing actors. There is also a lot of 'bad', but for once in tvshow history it probably due to the base material, and not to the adaptation. I mean i havent read the novels (and i dont want to), but basically everything is taken from other novels, especially Orwell's 1984 (ideas and structure) , but also Huxley, Bradbury, and some other pumping of pop culture (another AI made ?). Aside from that 'reassembling' of stolen ideas the fillings show an utter lack of knowledge, not even enough to avoid naively stepping into topics like class struggle and cyclical civilizations without a clue. And more generally into sociology and psychology. But, well, it works for a tvshow. Watchable

The favorable reviews for this show are incomprehensible to me. This show is so plodding and slow. The dialogue is awful. Like the worst high school theatre drama you've seen, but even more painful to the ears. The characters are cartoon-like, two-dimensional, paper-thin. There's no sense to their actions. Nobody behaves like this in real life. It's like a space alien who only ever read about humans, but never met one, tried writing a TV show about humans. The plot drowns in inauthenticity. I like the premise of the show. I also like the set designs. But the script is irredeemable and I cannot bear to watch another minute.

After a phenomenal first season, there’s been a significant drop in quality. Silo is still a good show, but it’s clear they’ve saved all the mystery and action for Season 3. Even Rebecca Ferguson’s presence has been reduced—what a step backward.

Overall it's a good show with great actors and interesting directing. sadly it suffers from the same thing most shows like this suffer from. it contains a lot of logical fallacies and issues with scale along things that don't make sense within the setting of the world that they setup. Never read the books so I can't say if the issues with the story and characters are inherit to them or if it is the making of the show. Enjoyed most of the show and I think it benefits from being inspired by the Fallout game series visuals and lore. (at least it seems to be heavily inspired by it)

This is the best series of the year. The acting, the story, the music, and all the secrets—it’s something truly special that many other shows are missing.

i mean i dont think my opinion has much weight but lets say as an avid media arts consumer, among many great shows, my 2024 best thing on tv award goes to silo season 2. a great sci fi and mystery of amazing production and engineering with actually very respectable screenplay and acting maybe except the rebellion side. season 1 was already great but season 2 is just mmmhhh. also julie playing minecraft for a whole episode straight was a unique episode for sure. hopeful and impatient for season 3.

I really enjoyed the first season. Presently, I am having difficult getting through season two since I can only watch it for 10 minutes before having to turn it off. The writing is horrible and it leads to a very boring story.

Oblivion meets Frostpunk. Incredibly tedious and predictable. First episode is interesting, then it just meanders and loses momentum. Also a bit woke, full to the brim with Mary Sues.

Its a metapocalyptic tv series...i like a lot this type of series and i found this very interesting...i spend two days to see the whole 1st season...highly recommended!!!

Too dark. So disappointing as we can't see anything. The acting and story seems like it's worth watching but the darkness ruins it. I get the creative premise but it goes too far.

A wonderful metaphor for the rat race we put each other thru, “Silo” is visually appealing and narratively immerse. Proper pacing and the intrigue of careful development allows this mystery to slowly unravel even as its plot thickens. I’ve seen a lot of talented cinematography in my time, and the team for “Silo” takes the cake, demonstrating a heightened appreciation of objects, environments, color palettes and associated details. Proper blocking and intimacy are notable in this series: Graham Yost and his team have the eyes of true professionals, noticing and coaxing out natural details in the cast; everything from mannerisms to wrinkles get highlighted in this production. Unlike the majority of its streaming competition, “Silo” is unafraid to use its written subject matter; most productions like it languish, spinning their wheels for time and money. By dragging the audience thru poorly developed daytime soap rehash, other shows aim to only squeeze by. “Silo” accomplishes what countless other narratives of our day are incapable of: it juggles plots and conflicts in a compelling sequence, all while keeping the viewer’s interesting firmly grounded; a true achievement for a generation befuddled by bells and whistles; distractions which are constantly going off in every direction around us. I imagine this depth of story is due to Hugh Howey, original author of the “Silo” novels, who I understand was present during and may have taken part in the filming of this series. P.S. - One final important note: “Silo” is not an impartial production. You’d think that storytelling this dark would be a step forward for screenwriting, but it’s not. This series isn’t written out of any care for mankind, but rather from a place of resentment. The devices of its politics are easily identifiable, employed repeatedly across countless contemporary productions (The Rings of Power is an example). This hidden concept schedule aims to inculcate the viewer towards bias: all men in these creations are portrayed as either inept, spineless or destructive. Parents are all horrible and all Caucasians are evil. The post-modern narrative that all men are corrupt and all mankind is irredeemable is not true: there are Captain Picards. There are Supermen and Batmen in real life. Frodo and Samwise are everywhere in the wonderful people who work hard and care for their families; they are the vast majority of the country and the planet. Those of us who are film industry professionals HAVE A DUTY to alert you and explain this to you, the audience. As such, I cannot possibly recommend “Silo”: its aims are below art and drama, hoping to disfigure your world view. Please do not support a streaming series that divides us. Thank you.

While the plot is relativly simple, there are a decent amount of subversions, and all in all the performances given, and the intrigue was enough to keep me hooked throughout the first season. It's one of the better shows to come out of Apple TV, and I look forward to the second season!

Exciting end-time SF from Apple TV+. Every episode is narratively dense, exciting and Rebecca Ferguson in particular simply outplays all the other actors! I'm already looking forward to the second season. AWESOME!

Above-average casting, production design, and cinematography; weak writing with archetypal post-apocalyptic characters and "vault-dweller" motifs that are more window dressing than story-essential. Starts with a strong 1st episode, then sheds the sci-fi allure by meandering through a procedural whodunit subplot that withholds an antagonist until a massive info dump in the 5th episode, demystifying and unraveling all tension, amounting to 4 episodes of dead air. Awful, inefficient, boring storytelling—streamers will truly buy any script that crosses their desk these days.

Excellent and good job to all actress actors wow

Common's acting is so believable it was never jarring every time he was on screen. He fit right in with the other silo dwellers so well. His fellow actors could really learn a thing or two about one-dimensional acting!

They kill off every likable character in the beginning, which only leaves a single unlikable egocentric egoist protagonist in the end who's portrayed as the hero. I also had high hopes for the plot, having Ascension in mind, but there doesn't seem to be a broader vision. I bet they'll introduce a whole lot of new characters next season just to kill them off again. You can have antagonistic characters as protagonists (despite the contradiction) but for that, you need a counterforce, a levelheaded protagonist. This show is pure chaos. It's been some time since I watched the final episode and I'm still annoyed.

Show is really **** theme, the plot, the lies, life inside the silo has so much fallout vibe.

Gave up mid-way through the season out of boredom. They obviously spent money on the production design, and the cast. Too bad the source material is about as bland as YA sci-fi gets these days, with bland checklist storytelling. Lots of things to like, and a smattering of engaging story moments and action set pieces, but ultimately just another Apple TV dud.

Great show. A few episodes in the middle were a little lackluster but still enjoyable. Looking forward to season 2. I will say that it's pretty obvious that a lot of characters were probably race swapped from the books so if you like authentic adaptations and you like the books I'm sure it would annoy you. Having not read the books personally it didn't bother me.

Most of the show footage was done for the sake of adding hours to the season. Even the end of the series answers no questions. Literally 1 - 1,5 additional series in the season 1 could tell everything they tried to tell in the whole season 2 or more.

Well acted, believable setting, okay story pacing. The show was a pleasant surprise for me on Apple TV. Shows like this many times insults their viewers and have characters do things that make no sense, everything here was believable and you understood the character's motivations.

Don‘t let anyone fool you. If you loved Lost, Prison Break, The First Season of Westworld or the first Season of True Detective, you will also love the first season of SILO. **** loved that **** it‘s so mysterious and exciting.

had never heard of it, watched 5 episodes thus far. Enjoyable, reason for a 6? I am sick and tired of all seeing these race swapped characters. I looked up the books and the graphic novel, it is very clear to me that they race swapped the sheriff, not saying he's a bad actor at all though but what's the point of just having a male and female both white and married? How is that whole concept fallen out off out current society standards? Why force this interracial stuff? I don't understand why they're so hung up on blackwashing characters. If it's written white, let it stay white. I read that "Some" people don't like Rebecca Fergusson. I personally think when it comes to this role she's playing, she always seems mad, the way she expresses herself during conversations, it comes off as over-acting, I understand certain situations gives you a level of stress or so but hearing F*** a few times within a minute, gets old real fast. Though still I wanna say, I've seen worse actors out there that are A-listers whether it be a series or a movie. Plot wise: I think it is "OKAY". Although you can see 'things' happening from miles away, every plot every 'so-called' twist is cliché to the max. The throwback to Rebecca Fergusson's character's childhood is something I skim through, they're just unnessacery fillers to fill up time, its annoying. Haven't reached the ending yet but i'm sure nothing will surprise me at this point. PS: if you swap it the other way around you're called a racist. What a world we live in.

This is an excellent sci-fi show. No one has superpowers. There are no massive CGI/technical visuals (see Avatar). There is just a very interesting story and excellent acting. The leads especially Ferguson are outstanding. Season 1 ends in a perfect place.
