Estupenda adaptación, debieran haberle dado a estos tipos los derechos de Fundación, para no tener que sufrir esa calamidad que creó AppleTV. El único error fue probablemente elegir a Eiza González como Wang Miao; no pasa nada con el cambio de género, pero la pobre tipa actúa tan mal que hasta los guionistas se ríen de ella. Podría haber hecho un excelente papel como Sofón

I wasn't able to push to the end of the first season. The entire show doesn't make any sense. Right off the bat, the simple idea of putting a countdown in someone's sight is cheesy. But that's not even the main issue. One of the characters, who's like a scientist or something, the day after seeing all the stars bleeping in the sky, he says "IMO, this was a deep fake" ?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? I'm sorry, do writers read the definitions of the technical terms they're using ? "A deepfake is AI-generated or AI-manipulated media that realistically makes it appear as though a person said or did something they never actually did." What the hell are you talking about, a deepfake in the sky ???????? This just feels like the writers have heard this word being used in the tech environment and decided to use it randomly. This could work in a goofy self-aware tongue-in-cheek action movie, but this shows desperately tries to look serious. So... Ewwwww The main plot is that the aliens tell their History to the characters through VR headsets but making it look "different" in style, but authentic in substance. Let's say the artistic direction adapts to the VR observer. Alright. But then, there is this phone call between some cult leader and the aliens and, during that phone call, the cult leader explains that humans create fictions for entertainment, and then the alien feels bad about it, tells it to the cult leader, and says that with that new information in mind, they decided humans aren't trustworthy. ???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? You kinda do the same, even tho it's your genuine race History, you make it look different in shape. Human fictions could be described the same : the fake story exists to give a message with a different shape than just the message itself. I don't know, I just couldn't continue the show. It just felt stupid at this point.

Terrible **** adaptation. It took away the most interesting parts about the mysteries and paradoxes of the book to focus on the least interesting parts of the book, and while it wisely tried to flesh out new characters (because characterization was NOT the book's strong point), it did so in cringe directions.

First, Eiza Gonzalez creeps me out. On one hand she's too good looking to impersonate any normal character. On the other her eyes and face are dead. Each of her appearances on screen screams that showbusiness has lost all touch with reality, audience or simple sense of aesthetics. The rest of the cast is not far behind, none of them looks or acts like scientists. Minorities random actors that's all. Lastly, after 4 episodes i still had no clue what the show was about. People talking and talking and talking... I had to look it up on wikipedia. Not interested to see the rest. Just another butchering job by Netflix

après la lecture du livre je me suis dis pourquoi pas regarder cette adaptation et c'est une purge.... Au lieu de rentrer dans les détails de l'histoire Netflix préfère changer les sexe des personnages principaux, en mettre une tonne qui n'existent pas et bien évidement nous faire comprendre à tout bout de champs que les femmes n'ont besoins de personnes surtout des hommes et des allusion fréquente à l'homosexualité. en somme rien à voir avec la thématique plus profonde du livre...

Je ne comprends pas pourquoi la série n’a pas plus de visibilité. Pour ceux qui aiment les sciences, la fiction et l’astronomie, la série est faite pour vous! J’ai hâte de la saison 2.

A creative plot is a very hard thing to achieve for a 2025 sci-fi, but its main characters lack depth and fail to resonate with the audience.

The special effects are brilliant and some of the acting (like Bernard Hill and Benedict Wong) is great. Unfortunately, it is just far too different from the book and the addition of the "Oxford Five" is baffling. They're supposed to be old friends but they have absolutely no chemistry whatsoever. They all look like they're at a corporate ice-breaking event, certainly not best friends. They basically ruin every scene they're in. The scenes without them, however, are pretty good.

Only the first two episodes were really good, and the third episode was fairly good as well, but after that, it went downhill. The story started with an intriguing idea that gets you hooked, but for some reason, as you progress through the series, it gets really dumb and stretched for no reason. I really liked the idea of virtual reality and had hoped they would explore it further—unfortunately, they **** of the many reasons this series didn’t work for me was the characters. You can’t help but feel annoyed by how Jin and Auggie respond to everything like a bunch of teenagers with tantrum issues—and these are supposed to be scientists, might I add! And don’t get me started on the most annoying character in the series: Will. I mean, we get it—you have cancer and you’re going to die soon—but you don’t have to remind us about it a hundred times during the show. And what was with the ridiculous love pursuit? These were all stupid decisions the writers made and could have easily been replaced with something more ****'s sad that a show with such a great story was handled this poorly.

This show had me hyped from the first trailer and I have to say the first 2 episodes were pretty compelling before it slowed right down. with no big payoffs at all in season 1, season 2 will make or break this. Honestly I felt pretty let down. At times it was pretty dull viewing and even a little cringe in as certain characters are introduced. When you get into a series you expect to have to watch a few episodes for it to really take off but this just didn't. It's like the whole series was just character development and set up for season 2. Obviously there is nothing wrong with setting up a series for an ongoing arc but many of these episodes just fall flat. It wasn't a boring watch by any means but it certainly wasn't early thrones or as compelling as something like Dark. Here's hoping the next season offers more.

It is one of the most interesting shows of the year and deals with many complex themes . The acting, production design , visual effects and etc are top notch

Je vous recommande la trilogie d’une grande originalité (et audace), à savoir Le Problème à 3 Corps, La Forêt Sombre et la Mort Immortelle : 3 livres qui sont autant de… délires que la série ne fait qu’effleurer ou développe de façon notoirement insuffisante. Bien sûr, d’autres saisons poursuivront et finiront la saga mais elle reste distordue et contrainte par de multiples agendas **** premier rang desquels sévit bien évidemment l’agenda wokiste gauchiste progressiste comme dans nombre de séries issues de la corpo Netwoke. On a donc du féminisme outrancier et rageux, du bisounoursisme vindicatif et écolo-con (‘how dare you’ etc), des minorités de la diversité en majorité et la propagande forcenée LGBT habituelle. Entre autres, bien **** y a aussi cet individualisme ridiculement mis en avant, l’usage de drogues comme étant « cool » (dans le milieu hautement scientifique de physiciens d’élite, faut-il le préciser), cette obsession de la justice sociale (encore et toujours alors que le monde est au bord du gouffre), et de la moralisation victimaire à deux balles. Bref, tout ce qui n’est pas dans les bouquins et pour cause, puisque l’auteur est chinois et certainement pas woke ! D’ailleurs, il est surprenant de constater que les Etats-Unis soient autant mis de côté dans cette série (la première puissance mondiale) : on ne les voit pas… du tout ou seulement aus infos ! tout ce qu’on voit, ce sont les « Nations Unies » qui n’ont jamais servi à rien. On ne voit pas non plus la Chine (seconde puissance mondiale) sauf au début puis leur rôle est escamoté par la suite !Dans les bouquins, la Chine joue un rôle capital, évidemment, alors il fallait suivre à la lettre les livres, ou bien transposer intégralement l’intrigue aux Etats-Unis ! cela a été fait pour quelques oeuvres d’origine japonaise (par exemple), rien de dramatique là-dedans, il suffit d’adapter ! Mais incapables de se décider, les auteurs de la série ont centré l’intrigue à Londres, la ville inclusive du wokistement correct.. comme par hasard ! Cela étant dit, le rythme des premiers épisodes est excellent (jusqu’à la moitié, voire un peu plus) et l’intrigue globale a été à peu près conservée, bien servie par de très beaux effets spéciaux. Le côté fascinant de cette histoire très originale est demeuré intact, à tel point qu’on ne lâche pas l’affaire avant d’avoir terminé entièrement cette première saison, à la fois énervé et **** réalisation reste assez remarquable, ce qui n’est pas le cas de la distribution pour sa part très inégale, sans compter un développement de plusieurs pathos souvent affreusement maladroits et poussifs. Là aussi, rien à voir avec les livres qui ont développé des personnages forts et charismatiques ! Dans l’ensemble, quand on a lu les livres, on reste ici souvent énervé par ce que propose la série… elle est par certains aspects très fidèle, certes (et spectaculaire)… mais par bien d’autres, beaucoup trop dégradée par ses agendas répugnants de wokisme et la pauvreté de son écriture, malgré pourtant une matière d’excellente qualité à exploiter ! quel gâchis donc… à moins que ça ne s’améliore pour les prochaines saisons mais j’en doute.

Science fiction works have always been a vehicle for broader themes, with the core concepts being the primary focus. The original "Three-Body Problem" offers a unique understanding of cosmic civilizations and a new way for human civilization to engage in what can be considered a third type of contact. This raises not only the allure of science fiction but also deep reflections on the scale of human civilization. However, the series completely abandons this line of thought. While it does try to introduce some reflections, they are superficial and lack depth. This may be due to the low skill level of the screenwriters, who fail to showcase these ideas, or perhaps they completely miss the essence of the original work. As a result, the entire series feels like a hollow shell devoid of soul. Moreover, the actors' limited performances and the negative impact on character development only further detract from the story. In summary, this is not the "Three-Body" world I envision, but rather a simplistic deconstruction of elements crudely pieced together. From a certain perspective, many contemporary science fiction films and series share this problem, differing only in degree.

Boring and full of annoying characters. It feels like they add and stretch the plot in order to have more characters and more chapters. Also i found dumb that the aliens can interfere everything and decide to do dumb stuff like countdown illusion instead of killing that person (you only need change a traffic light to kill a person) or just wipe humanity, they want to conquer us anyways...

it's not perfect but very entertaining for sci-fi fans. slightly flat-ending but looking forward to season 2

Loved the book. Love the series! So intense and interesting. A unique style of SciFi.

The showrunners take what was orginally an Asian man who was supposed to be Auggie, and turn him into a Latina supermodel. She is not believable in the role AT ALL. Hollywood needs to just stop. This is not what reality looks like no matter how much you want it to. Uber smart scientists don't look like Eiza Gonzalez. Even in a universe where aliens attack Earth, they still don't look like Eiza Gonzalez. Just another Blackrock approved ESG show; they took a great book and ravaged it because they can't write things of their own.

Fantastic. Read the books and was shocked at how well this was done. The characters feel much more human than the books. My gripe with the books was the complete lack of human emotions with the characters this show fixed all of that.

Interesting show that comes together slowly. My first thought is how much money does Netflix receives from the tobacco industry. Casting is bizzare. Male scientists can look like anybody. Female scientists have to be models. Enjoyed the strong themes of humanity, belief, and belief in science. Production values are good. The characters are generally unbelievable and unlikeable. In the face of the death of the human race, the main characters are so whiney and useless. Is this how writers see Millennials? Rule of thumb for a show that requires a smart audience is that the you can’t get away with dumb writing,

Love this show! The director and casting director did a great job in diversifying the roles. But the one who unfortunately I didn't see fit the equation or match level to acting with the other actors was Elza Gonzalez. I truly hope she isn't a continuation to the story. Her acting is subpar and she is just a pretty face. How did she even get the role??!! Find someone else who looks both the part of scientist with beauty and brains.

This is an entertaining series with interesting characters and dialog, but ultimately it suffers from the same problem that afflicts a great many series and films about extraterrestrial life: who are they and what do they want and what is the human race going to do about it? The worst part of the series is the ending. With about 15 minutes left to go in the final episode I was considering how this all might get wrapped up. Is it all just a dream? Is it a test? Well, it's nothing that horribly cliched, but it left me unsatisfied. It's a good ride. Give it a try. But don't expect your expectations to be exceeded by a whole bunch.

3 Body Problem is one of the best Sci-Fi series in 2024 and in general from Netflix. I'm not familiar with the original source of the book, I haven't watched Chinese film adaptations that were published before. Perhaps 3 Body Problem has another agenda from Netflix. But in general, the first season was successful. The series looks great, CGI is normal. The plot, especially the first 3-4 episodes, keeps in suspense. The plot is of course open and the last series is disappointing. But this is the first Netflix series in a long time that is pleasant to watch. I hope for season 2, which will already be with the new cast in the new time interval.

This series presents intelligent sci-fi in the vein of Asimov and Bradbury. Its plot is compelling and will keep you on the edge of your seat. I can't wait for the next season!

The first 5 episodes of this show are actually pretty good, episode 6 it falls off a cliff!!! The remaining episodes are painful to watch, like some network TV melodrama. HOW DISAPPOINTING

After watching the 1st episode i only have one thing to say: CAN THIS ACTRESS WHO PLAYS AUGGIE CLOSE HER **** MOUTH LIKE DAMN PLS BREATH THROUGH YOUR NOSE AND LEARN TO ACT HOLY

What a disappointment. I suppose I enjoyed the source material, though I’m hardly invested in the books and can imagine many perfectly good ways to adapt them to streaming and perhaps even improve upon them. Unfortunately, this series was pretty bad. I had a very difficult time connecting to/caring about the characters and the overarching story is oversimplified into unbelievability (just a couple examples: everyone just gets a little depressed over the fact that “science is broken” instead of it being a civilization **** event, and I’m forced to swallow the false, almost silly, emotional investment in saving the virtual reality child). Not worth the time to stream, and very unfortunate waste of the source material. Again, what a disappointment. One small caveat: the historical scenes that take place in China were quite good—almost as if someone totally different (and actually talented) wrote them; it was as though they were from a totally different, much better show.

It's just okay. Some interesting parts but tries to be smarter than it actually is. Struggled to finish the 8 episodes and I don't have much interest in future seasons.

Same problems with character development, and characters doing random **** with no intrinsic sense to the story-telling process, as in the latter seasons of GOT. These showrunners are terrible at adaptation, and for a second time they show basic misunderstanding of how people/characters think and act. Weird to see any network trust them. They've done enough cultural vandalism already.

I had really high hopes for this one, but it left me disappointed. It is a very lackluster series. First of all, the casting is not ideal. For example, Mrs. Gonzales' character is very annoying and doesn't match the sci-fi theme that this series should have (it doesn't). Also, I feel bad for Alex Sharp as he has to play a sad boy throughout all 8 episodes. I can only say something positive about Jess Jong and Mr. Wong, as those two simply delivered. For the most part, actors seem like they don't try as much as they should. Dialogues are ridiculous sometimes and mediocre for the most part. I haven't experienced a series with that many technical issues for quite some time. I believe that they were heavily using an anamorphic lens, but it seems like with little or no experience because many times the focus on characters' faces that are on the sides of the screen are crushed. Weird editing issues. Lackluster lighting. Bad CGI. Inconsistent color grading. Inconsistent narrative tempo. I could go on and on. But the worst thing is that it doesn't reflect the climate that the book portrayed. Shooting in England as the main location killed it for me.

Dumb and Dumber at it again! Let’s repeat the utter disaster of GoT Season 8, the birdbrains have forgotten all about it by now, and make a “product” for those modern audiences, majority of which will gobble it up without a second thought (they are incapable of anyway), a few amongst them with a modicum of brain might complain but by that time their opinions won’t matter anyway as it will all be over and we’ll be laughing all the way to the bank one more time. Nice!

intriguing plot, that falls flat after 2 episodes. Further undermined by terrible dialogues and idiotic melodramatic romantic sideshows. Acting is subpar, especially the young actors who really do not come across as credible scientists

I gave two episodes a chance. However, the show just felt so flat, and the characters so unsympathetic... I couldn't go on, when there was just no way to connect with the characters.. The plot didn't engage at all, unfortunately, cause I do like well made sci fi.

I have seen this series after reading the 3 books, and I think it is a great adaptation.

After investing nearly 8 hours into this show with high hopes, I regret to say that it's quite terrible. The casting of the scientist characters was completely off, lacking credibility. It seems the showrunners may never have interacted with a real scientist, which undermines the believability of the entire plot. The acting is disappointingly mediocre. As a result, the show utterly fails to engage and establish an emotional connection. There's no empathy felt for the characters' personal stories, including the love arcs and Will's illness. Despite my initial enthusiasm, it ultimately proved to be a waste of time.

I need more! The show is a slow burn but has these massively thought provoking moments that make you think about what you would do in these characters shoes. I do feel like the characters themselves need to be more flushed out but Da, Wil and Ye are standouts. The visual effects were not consistent but I moved passed it and just asked myself “what is trying to be conveyed here?” and got it. The feeling of true hopelessness in this story was a strange one to enjoy, but just let it come and embrace the ride. I like that without seeing the enemy provided fear, knowing they are still there and there is no escaping them. It’s brilliant. I really want to know how this whole story shakes out good or bad. This is going to be one of those shows I watch on repeat.

The making of it had the emotion needed and interesting characters, but it was slow. They kept rehashing the ideas. An ending requires three things: resolution of conflict, questions answered, and theme restated. They only did one out of the three. Even as it dragged, I stayed for the promise **** ending. I was cheated. I will not be back for seasons 2-5 they plan. There were some good scenes, but overall, it fell flat. I understand the book is excellent, and I probably will pick that up to satisfy my curiosity.

Another current-day type of production, on par with the acceptable level of political correctness and, as a result, weak beyond belief. It's inconsistent and non-sensical, filled with supernatural elements. I watched the first episode, it's like nails on a chalkboard, I'm in the first 10 minutes of the second episode and writing this review because I can't take it anymore. It's sterile, dead. Don't get me wrong, I love good sci-fi, but I hate post-teen drama pretending to be sci-fi. It's a product, not a show or a mini series created out of passion for the source material. As such, it has no redeeming quality. It's a zero. Let's add some more: the characters are dumb, the males are teen bros with the IQ of a boiled oyster, the females are girl bosses of diverse background. Yet, they do nothing of value: NOTHING! The alien are supposed to be scientifically behind 400 years in the future yet they can send a super computer the size of a proton which can unfold itself and become all powerful to the point where it can mess with computers and people. So instead of using this super computer to silently mess with humans, and god knows it is easy to do, we can argue about a glass being half full or half empty for days, these geniuses decide that it's better to make themselves known to the public so the whole planet has 400 years to get ready and find counter measures in the meantime. Also, having the technology to cram an infinitely powerful computer in a particle, they will be behind in 400 years? They also decide to abandon their followers who have been subservient and ready to give everything following a question regarding a fairy tale? Also, if they are so scientifically advanced, how can they be estranged to the concept of lying: falsification (true and false) is at the heart of the scientific method. Also, with their super computers, having unlimited access to the internet they discover lying after discussing about a fairy tale?? And when these aliens decide to carry on with the invasion of earth, why are they abandoning the control of the scientists? The fact they change their mind is absurd: they have decided to carry on invading, changing plans 400 years ahead is ridiculous. They have the luxury of time, humans will have forgotten everything in a generation, they should know that since they have been in contact with humans for at least a generation. Let's make a trip back with the characters, I don't remember any of their names are they are so generically smooth brained. The chinese lady witnessed the criminality of the great leap forward, when approached by an alien who told her that they'll wipe humans, she still decides to continue to go even further with more destruction? What is the point of having the bunch of bro-dudes besides having pointless soap-opera-like melodrama? Their discussions are absolutely pointless. The plot element about the white haired all powerful guy is nonsensical, how can he have so much power. And a british guy who can't open these kinds of window in an old castle, when he's supposed to be some kind of genius? Spare me. The plot of the brain and the bomb is dumb as possible: giving a human brain for the aliens to fabricate a biological weapon? Why would they believe the brain when they know we are lying? And attempting to fly a capsule attached to a solar sail without redundancies and without margin of error from hundred to thousand of km per second, this is fantasy. I do want to be rude with the writer, creators, actors, and production of this show. If the novel follows in any way shape or form this concept, we have truly abandoned the concept of science fiction as a whole. It's beyond absolutely stupid. And the final inconsistency that torpedoes the show completely: the aliens were attempting to stunt human science by killing human scientists or having them to abandon science. Later on we are told that the aliens wanted to share earth with humans but then decided to wipe humanity upon the discussion about lies and the fairy tale then decided to stunt science to prevent humans progressing to exceed the levels of the aliens. So which is the right path? Are the aliens teenagers with the memory **** who can throw an epic tantrum. Or is the show so inconsistent that it's an absolute joke which takes the audience for a bunch of smooth brain idiots? What makes me angry is not just the show, it's the fact that many seems to love bathing in the manure that it is. We are ready for the SMOD.

This is ok. The story is kind of convoluted, but it can be followed. It helps to have read his books. This series is a bit different, people and places but the idea is there. Visual media is different than books but it can be just as good. This isn't as good as the books but it is ok. We'd rate it: "go ahead and watch. It is fun if you like SciFi."
